प्रेम धांडे लिखित शिवनेत्र बहिर्जी मालिकेतील हे पहिले पुस्तक होय. बहिर्जी नाईकांबद्दल खूप कमी माहिती उपलब्ध आहे. परंतु उपलब्ध माहितीचा अभ्यास करत कल्पनाविस्तार करून ही कथा खूप उत्कृष्ठरित्या मांडण्यात लेखक यशस्वी झाले आहेत. रानात शिकार करणारे दौलतराव हेरखाते प्रमुख आणि शिवरायांचे तृतीय नेत्र बहिर्जी नाईक कसे बनतात आणि हेरांचे विस्तृत जाळे कुतुबशाही, आदिलशाही आणि मोघलाईत कसे विणतात हा प्रवास खूपच आवेशपूर्ण आणि मनोरंजक आहे. शिवरायांचे हेरखाते समकालीन सत्ताधीशांच्या तुलनेत खूपच अग्रीम होते हे आपल्याला कळून येते. मालिकेतील पुढले पुस्तक प्रेम धांडे यांनी लवकरात लवकर लिहून बाजारात आणावे ही विनंती.

Every Marathi person knows almost all the major events from Chatrapati Shivaji's life and yet this novel brings out nuances and gives a unique joy while reading it. I am looking forward to reading next volumes of this series. Prem Dhande has left us at a perfect cliff hanger at the end of this volume 1.

Good story telling, keeps you engaged throughout the book and many incidents so its never a boredom
But right before the chapter starts the title of the chapter dictates what it is about so I already know what is going to happen in this chapter that took my keenness.

We need to understand and know more about the heros of Shivaji Maharaj and their work. And this is always present yet the most unsung heros of Shivaji Maharaj. Looking forward to read the next Volume of the book.
