This book is a very full text in a small package. I am excited to dive into fictional titles based in the the mythology and stories from Africa-and there are many out there!

This has about 100 short tales and a list for further reading. All of the stories note specifically the people groups of origin and are curated into sections.

I’d say this is a great overview/starter. Also a pretty little book for the shelf.

The book contains a glossary that isn’t tailored to this title. Often I couldn’t find an entry for a word in the text in this glossary but it could be me.

I have one other book in this collection and cannot help but notice how this title is trying to cover a large space of the world compared to smaller, Western countries in other books. This is a great start, but as readers we are the ones to vouch for more stories/academic research in this area.

Really wanted to like this but just so poorly put together and edited that reading felt like a slog.

The lack of star rating is not due to not liking this book!
I just dont like rating these types of collections when they cover topics I´m unfamiliar with. :)

This is the most poorly edited book I’ve ever read. A couple stories were hard to comprehend due to the lack of editing.
