One minute Amanda is crying over a Hallmark movie and binging chocolate. The next she is being offered as a prize to the winner of a brutal contest in an alien prison. And the biggest, scariest alien of them all just won her…
A cheating boyfriend is the least of Amanda's worries when an alien appears in her living room. Discovering she has been sold to an alien prison is terrifying. Seeing two males fight to the death for her is horrifying.
But the massive red male who looks at her with such hunger? He could destroy her.
Left to rot with the other Undesirables, Riker’s only focus is on escape. He has no intention of fighting for anyone’s entertainment. Until he sees the soft, beautiful female being offered to the victor.
A female is the last thing he needs, especially one who arouses his mating instincts, but neither can he resist her. Can he protect her from the vicious guards, the evil warden - and from himself?
Please note that Alien Most Wanted: Caged Beast is the extended version of the short story originally published as part of the Alien Embrace anthology. Intended for mature audiences!
Starts off a little darker than Honey Phillips stories usually are and much steamier, but I liked it. A lot.
This is about Riker, a dangerous red devilish alien with horns and fangs, with black eyes that have red stars that dance around like flames. Uh, yes please!! He's in one of the most deadly prisons where the Warden has the prisoners fight to the death for his illegal fighting pit. He sees Amanda offered as a prize and feels an inextricable pull towards her. So he rips the head off his opponent and wins her.
Riker ends up being a good "bad" guy who doesn't plan on raping Amanda, but the Warden and guards might have something else to say about that. He does the everything in his power to protect Amanda and to try to get them out from under the corrupt warden.
This was so good. It was HP's foray into Omegaverse. Riker has fangs and bites on the neck to claim his mate. He also has a massive and interesting man hammer that locks them together. Riker was so sweet, caring, and protective. Amanda was open minded and compassionate. I loved their "friends" who lend them a much needed helping hand or eight in the end. I can't wait to see where this goes with the next one.
Amanda was kidnapped by aliens and taken to a prison, where she is offered as the prize for the winner of a fight. Riker has plans to escape the prison, when he sees Amanda and decides to step in to save her from the more violent prisoners.
I liked the planet (both the prison and the jungle) and the characters were interesting. The relationship was very rushed though, and there wasn't enough time or conversation to make it believable.
Human woman gets abducted and given out like a trophy in an alien gladiator match, then she gets along fabulously with the champion.
It's pretty standard fare, there's probably hundreds of sci-fi romance books with the exact same premise. Nothing new is added to the mix in this story, but at least she's a trooper about things
Darker and sexier and hotter and more fun! Yes please!
Our heroine, Amanda, is at home on earth minding her own business watching Hallmark movies. Her boyfriend cheated. Out of nowhere she's kidnapped and transported far away to a prison planet and into the hands of the Warden. He is going to offer her as a prize for the next fight night.
Riker is a red skinned, dangerous, black eyed, yummy package of muscle and intelligence. He's in prison for political reasons and has to fight to the death for the really evil Warden in the "Pit" for entertainment. He doesn't want to fight and kill but he has no choice. Especially when he sees Amanda.
He defeats a terrifying foe and saves Amanda from a fate worse than death. He protects her from the abusive guards as best he can. Even though he wants her he just holds her in the night. But the Warden's second has nasty plans for her and takes her from Riker. Big mistake.
I won't say more except there is a really intriguing prisoner that I would love to know more about and a sweet little creature that helps Amanda and Riker. They are on a planet where literally everything is trying to kill them.
A lot is packed into this story in a short amount of time. I loved every bit of it and want to read more about Riker's brothers!
I love a story that just takes me into the pages and I can see everything like a movie. I love a story that makes me sad it's over. I love Honey Phillips! She makes me want more!
I was disappointed in this book in the beginning. Amanda was kidnapped by aliens. She was then told from now on she would be a sex prize in an arena where prisoners battle to the death. Once she witnesses a battle and is given to an alien for 5 days, he throws her over his shoulder and carries her off. He proceeds to rip her clothes off and climb on top of her. She was turned on by him?!? He was only going to pretend to screw her but she didn't know this. Wtf is wrong with her? This was NOT believable at all. Any normal person would not get horny under these circumstances.
Also, I have read several books with a woman being a sex prize, a battle to the prisoner's death, and then pretending to have sex.
Amanda was pretty dumb in the jungle. She knew everything there was dangerous yet she kept taking risks. Why would she pick and smell flowers knowing that they could be deadly?
The story overall did keep me enaged. For the most part I liked the characters and the little creature who helped them. I love this author so I will definitely read the next one.

Isn't it wild that there are so many sci-fi romances with Earth women being given to males in prison? 🤷♀️ So weird, right? I totally don't know how all of them wound up on my Kindle either!
Bonk! Let's go to Horny Jail—because nothing screams ✨romance✨ like being fresh meat dangled in front of sex-starved criminals, amirite ladies?! 💃 𐂺
Caged Beast definitely has some CWs, but is still on the lighter end of this... micro-sub-genre? It's actually very similar in tone to Prison Planet Barbarian by Ruby Dixon. Both of these books have MMCs that just pretend to have sex with the FMCs—at least until she clearly consents.
Overall this was a solid read. I especially liked the MMC's protectiveness and caregiving, although I felt the story floundered a bit once
I originally read the shorter version of this in an anthology and I must admit I liiiiike the extended version. Amanda and Riker get a little more play time and there's some good setup for the future. Because Riker has brothers, my friends. BROTHERS!
Anywho. Amanda and Riker. She's the human woman sold to an alien prison warden (as a prize for his fighters, no less). He's the alien who's determined to protect her. By fighting and winning and taking her back to his room. AS ONE DOES.
But really...Riker has the urge to protect the brave, fragile seeming human and it takes a while for him to admit that she's more than just a convenient female. She's his special hunny-bunny and he's going to do what he needs to do to keep her safe.
Which means breaking out of a super-max alien prison on a dangerous planet. And figuring out how to survive on said dangerous planet while waiting for pickup off-world.
Amanda goes with the flow (because what else can you do when you're abducted by aliens and sold as a fight-prize, amirite?!?!) and Riker takes his sweet time admitting how much Amanda means to him. But he eventually does and THINGS HAPPEN. *thumbs up*
The writing was good, the characters were ok (if maybe slightly flat) and the plot was interesting enough.
I was a little disappointed by the ending, it felt very cliffhanger-ish, even though it wasn't, like Amanda and Riker's story wasn't quite finished yet, but in order to connect this book to the next one, their installment had to end.
Also disappointed by how the latter sex scenes in the book were all pretty much fade to black. On the whole, I feel like the sex aspect of the story went hugely unexplored, sadly.
I may consider reading the next books in the series, but currently, I'm still on the fence about it.
I read Hold by Claire Kent and have been searching for my prison romance high ever since. This book has shown me that not all prison romance books are created equal.
It was very very short, which allowed for extremely small characterization and character development. The insta love was STRONG here, which I can get behind but it has to be done well (and it wasn’t…). I also did not like how easy it was for them to escape or what happened after they did. You really want to live in a shack in the jungle??? It was a very odd choice by the author in my opinion.
2.5 ⭐️ This was a short story and it started off quite good..I was really interested in it,but once Riker and Amanda escaped the prison and entered the jungle,it just lost the plot and it went down hill.. I don’t think I will carry on with the series due to this one 🙁
I really enjoyed the darker tone and higher stakes in this novel right out of the gate! The danger, injustice, and hint of political intrigue behind the scenes kept me turning the pages quickly. The heroine was sweet and sympathetic, and the hero was a delightful protective, caretaker alpha type that made me swoon a little. I loved the incorporation of the Fated Mate trope, and I loved how devoted the hero was to the heroine. The world building was pretty good, and I enjoyed meeting the native sentient species of this world outside the walls of the prison. I cannot wait to read the brother’s romance, and the monstrous, instinct driven guy the guards gave the heroine to also sounded like DELICIOUS sequel bait! This was a fun romp of a book that I highly recommend.

A seductive beginning to a series that is captivating and promises and delivers light after darkness. Flowing, captivating and sensitively narrated, it takes us on a little adventure journey that, funnily enough, first ends romantically and harmoniously in the jungle as Tarzan and Jane. I am curious to see how the following stories will fit in and connect, since somehow everything begins in prison.
Amanda is human and one night she is abducted to a Prison planet as a prize for their prisoners. She has no choice but to corporate or face severe punishment. Riker is stuck with a fierce need to protect Amanda as soon as he sees her. He fights and wins her for five days, however the prison warden has other plans. Frightened Amanda seeks safety and comfort with Riker. Can Riker and Amanda save each other and survive escaping the prison to find their happiness? As with all Honey Phillips books there are a few surprises, animal campaigns and HEA.

I loved this extended version of this book. As always Honey Phillips books are sooo good. Amazing world building, action, adventure, and all the smexy times. I can’t wait for the next book!!
PRETTY STANDARD ALIEN ROMANCE....straightforward plot with average characters. Good for a quickie read but otherwise not that memorable. It's enjoyable when you're looking for a story like this, but when you want more meat, then this definitely pales in comparison.
I was looking for a short story that I hoped might have a good plot, and this was exactly what I wanted. It's got a great hero and heroine, some nice and not nice, well written side characters, and some genuinely amusing brief moments.
is a great story for*exiting right from the start the storyline is captivating and the character steal your heart immediately. It has wonderful side characters. I highly recommend this book is a great read.

4.5/5 Told in 3rd person Fated mates trope; insta-lust/attraction Steamy smex scenes 🌶🌶 knotting Neither hero (Riker) not heroine(Amanda) are virgins No other woman/man. No cheating. (But there is a scene where the Pit owner throws Amanda into another fighter’s cage after injecting her with aphrodisiac! But that fighter also had a honorable character so they just put on a make-believe show)
No angst. Fast paste easy read!
Honorable alien fighter wins human woman as prize in fighting pit!
Don't start this one before going to bed! I was up all night, because it turned into "just one more page" it's darker than her other books, but it's not necessarily bad, just different. In some places it does seem a bit rushed, but it's overall a good read.

Amanda is abducted by aliens and taken to an distant planet where she is offered up as a prize for the winner between two hulking alien fighters. Riker knows that he needs to win the fight because Amanda is his fated mate. Steamy action packed read.
I stumbled across Honey when I had finished another authors books. I have been on a bit of a sci fi romance blitz. Just something to get lost in other than the norm. Where you can do what you want because it is sci fi.
Trust me you will not be disappointed. I enjoyed this one so much that I am now working my way through all her books. Gotta love Kindle Unlimited.
