Dark Romanticism loved the irrational, the scary spooky and the demonic Grosteske. The fallen writers explored the worlds of nightmares, psychic disturbances, fears and dark sides of the human, as far as possible. They did not want to show the boundaries between nightmare and reality, but rather to blurr those limit in their works.

Oh, Death! is an Anthology of english romantic poetry by Edward Young, Felicia Dorotea Hemans, Percy Shelley, Robert Southey, William Wordsworth and many more, carefully selected by Claudio Rocchetti. The Artist Marcello Crescenzi (Rise Above) created the beautiful design for this wonderful little book.

Herr Rocchetti hat eine etwas depressive Zusammenstellung von Todeslyrik herausgegeben. Teils lebensbejahend und hoffnungsvoll, teils aber auch ziemlich deprimierend, wenn eine Mutter darüber schreibt, wie sie gerade beide Söhne im Krieg verloren hat. Zu Wort kommen nur namhafte Autor*innen wie Keats, die Shelleys, Wordsworth oder Blake.

Vorteil dieser Ausgabe: Sie ist wunderschön, mit Prägung und Foliierung und blutrotem Vorsatz.

Nachteil dieser Ausgabe: Es gibt sie nur im Black Letter Press Shop, der Verlag veröffentlicht ohne ISBN. Aber reinstöbern lohnt sich!
