What. A. Ride. I loved Adrian and Nick in The Cleopatra Cipher, and this sequel was even more action-packed. I love the combination of history and solving mysteries, which this series does so well. Adrian and her team are in a race against time against The Brotherhood, a group you definitely would not want to cross. I enjoyed the different locations and variety of people they met along the way. I'm so happy with Adrian's decision at the end, and I am so freaking excited about the focus of the next book. It's going to be amazing.
The Excalibur Deception takes readers on a heart-pounding journey through the world of secret societies, stolen artifacts, and hidden truths. From the moment I opened the book, I was hooked by the intriguing premise: the theft of the legendary sword Excalibur, believed to be linked to the fabled King Arthur.
Adrian's relentless pursuit of the truth leads her deep into the enigmatic world of a secret society known as the Brotherhood. The author's ability to craft a fast-paced narrative filled with gripping action sequences truly kept me on the edge of my seat.
One of the highlights of "The Excalibur Deception" is the clever use of clues and riddles that propel the story forward. Each discovery leads to another, creating an intricate web of connections.
The author's character development throughout the story felt authentic and relatable, making Adrian West a memorable lead that readers can root for. The supporting cast also brings their own dynamics and motivations to the table, enriching the overall reading experience.
Great book, but it followed a lot of the same plot points and design as the first book in the series. Three places they have to go to in order to discover the final location of the end of the quest. I really enjoyed it overall and like that LD Goffigan isn’t making the romance line between Adrian and Nick a leading plot point. Even though it was a little redundant when compared to the first book in the series, I still can’t wait to read the next one!

I thought this was a poorly written book primarily written for young women. The character, Adrian, could do no wrong and was able to defeat whatever obstacles she faced. She was able to get the best of men with guns by either through physical force, dodging bullets, or just outsmarting them. Totally unbelievable. I feel sure the author is a young woman or a male who is certainly writing for young women readers.
I quite enjoyed the dinamic between the characters and the more Mythic-like quest instead of factual evidence, arthurian legends make great stories and plotlines, however the so called ultimate weapon was lackluster as a final location, didn't feel very legendary to be honest, not really something that felt like such a massive discovery, however this is something that happens on the last chapters, the rest is really good

An ancient brotherhood exists to hide the location of something deadly to the human race. The brotherhood splits into two factions. One continues to protect the secret. The other is led by a fanatic who wants to sell it to terrorists. Adrian and Nick follow the clues and solve the case.
This book was okay but there were just too many large leaps in logic that didn't really make sense. Also the ending was very anti climactic as the place the characters had been searching for during the whole book was very well known to the locals so it basically felt like the whole journey was unnessesary.
review of the "Excalibur Deception " by LD Goffigan
Just finished reading this book and was not disappointed sometimes sequels are not as good but this one delivers I like the character development between the players and just the right amount of adventure and intrigue to keep you entertained I rolled right through this book a good read
Excalibur Deception is an entertaining story. However, there are missing and misused words along with some plot holes. I believe that a more thorough editing could have allowed me to give it a better review. I reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book.
Bullets hitting the cars, a believe in the reality of King Arthur, maybe 3 of them. And death and his assistants killing people all over the world to get a great power.
An awesome adventure, full of intrigue and action. The storyline was loaded with plot twist and turns. I like the characters, finding them well defined and easy to get behind. I really like this book and I highly recommend it.
This is a good action novel, the reading performance for audible was excellent. The book had great action and a decent story, this one had more unnecessary foul language than the first book in the series though.
Enjoyed reading this book, gave it four stars because it leans so heavily on action, by the second book I was hoping for more character development concerning Adrian and Nick. I do think both books one and two would make interesting films.
This is Goffigan’s second book of archeological adventure, this time they search for the sward, Excalibur which is in the hands of a very nefarious character. It is a chase at its heart of two teams, the good guys and the bad guys. It is reasonably short and a fun read.
Thoroughly enjoyed it! Quite the page turner, read it in one sitting, in one night! Adrian has friends in some of the most interesting places, but watch out! Sometimes, they turn on you. And I would love to visit the Bodlian (?) Library! So, the story. Adrian and Nick are back, working a case of stolen antiquities that involves a sword that could be the infamous Excalibur. But they are up against a group that wants it for nefarious purposes, obviously, and are willing to kill to get what they want. There are clues hidden in the story based in history and where you end up boggles the mind. You know from the start who the bad guys are and that's ok, it's the journey, not the destination! So,all-in-all, a great read!
Great novel! Loved the story, but I do one minor complaint. In the last novel, Nick was clearly her partner and her equal. This time around he has been demoted to side- kick with few limes, and other than dreaming of Adrian we get little contribution from him this go.
The dynamic has changed, and now in a good way. There is no reason to take that character’s strength away from him.
While I still give the story five stars, the change in tone makes me want to give it a TWO.
This author has a great way to get the reader involved. You feel like you are racing along with the characters to save the world. I love the way he places his story around archeological history. Can’t wait for more to come!!
