It seems all I’ve ever wanted was vengeance. I did everything right: I protected my friends, I pushed myself to the limits, and I saved lives. Once upon a time, I was an internationally renowned thief known as The Fox. Nobody knew me. Nobody could catch me.
Nobody but them, my men, my partners in crime. But their love for me, it's cost them dearly.
Our enemies keep coming for blood. They cut me. They hurt my friends. They push and push to see what will happen.
I’m Kit Davenport, and I’m going to show them what happens.
Tate... we need to talk. Like, get the popcorn ready. This is gonna be a soap.
I started this series as I was just diving into the world of reverse harem. I was young, naive, vulnerable. (this was like 6 months ago? I'm exaggerating for emphasis folks.)
This series has been quite the roller-coaster. IN MY OPINION: Kit remained quite the same: selfish, completely fucking immature, sex-crazed, stupidly spontaneous. But I loved the guys (read: Austin).
Some books I liked more than others. Overall it was a decent series. A shit show? most definitely. I feel like there were so many problems at once during some points in the series that it left it to be almost too much. Sometimes boring? Hell yes. Sometimes the book was just sex sex sex and not much else. But the root of the problem was the organization of the series as a whole. The complication of the plot was more shallow than anything.
BUT THIS BOOK WAS SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT. WHAT THE FUCK TATE??
I'll summarize: Beginning of the book: Kit was cruel and on some warpath after a certain traumatic event and it was a complete turn-off. Her cruelness was so fucking annoying.
Middle: probably the best part of the whole series. There was actually some decent reading material that made me think the ending would be kick-ass.
Between Middle and End: things are rapidly declining. Losing interest. WHERE ARE THE GUYS?? And this is where the book really lost me. WHAT is going on? DO I NEED TO PRAY TO THE COFFEE GODS TOO?????
End: rushed. COMPLETELY DISORGANIZED. From one page to the other it was terrrrrible. The transitions were sloppy. I had to re-read some parts just to double check what was actually going on. That was honestly one of the worst written action scenes I've EVER read. If you could even call that a "battle."
Epilogue: somewhat cute. Still rushed. Left me feeling empty.
I had such high hopes. The meat of the book really looked promising, but then shit hit the fan and that ending was honest-to-coffee-gods terrible.
Almost reread because of FB rec lol..... Side note omg where do I come up with these reviews jeeze 😳
Spoilers ahead
This will not be my typical full review simply because I'm clearly in the minority with my thoughts on this series.
To me the h was the big breasted blonde in a low budget horror movie(no offense to blondes), she was touted as a uber powerful badass but she was a stubborn, immature, foolish and flighty idiot who cut first and then measured. She flew into every situation without thought of the consequences and paid the price each time. Of all the H's Austin, who acted like he hated her,was the most accurate in his thoughts on her....she really was dense.
The poor besotted H's all deserved better, they were actually a great group of guys though their pov could've used some help. I did think Wesley was better suited to Lucy rather than the h but I'm not the author
I expect a certain amount of leeway in a fantasy/PNR but I'd really like the plot/characters to at least be plausible. This was complete and utter ridiculousness from book 1 to this one. Everything and the kitchen sink was thrown in.
The sex/chemistry was lackluster even with the requisite "sir" thrown in for some "heat"
All in all this series was a Jerry Springer episode, cringe worthy yet horrifyingly entertaining
The Alpha's Pack was an okay book. Better than the last one.. but still disappointed me a bit? I guess I had high expectations about what was going to go down between Kit and her mom. So, now I know better than to assume things. I did, however, like Bridget's punishment.. but really wanted her to go buh-bye.
Other than all of that, the smut was all up in my face. I loved every second of it because it made her and the guys closer. Which means the bond was getting stronger and again, I'm alllll for that. Speaking of the guys, it was interesting to see River's beast - even though he was gross sometimes. Then it was highly entertaining to see Wes come out of his sexual shell. I'm proud of you buddy - you did good kid!
That being said, it doesn't really feel like this series really came to an end. I don't know what it is but I wanted more from the epilogue - a lot more. It was cute, don't get me wrong, but ugh.. my little heart wanted more. That's it - plain and simple. I guess I'll live.
2nd time reading I stand by my previous review, this was a good ending to the series even if it wasn't my favorite book. I did like that we saw a bunch of different supernatural creatures, including some pretty surprising ones. We also saw River accept who he is and their group fully join.
This was a bit slow in places and the final battle was cool but a bit short. I was happy with Bridget's storyline and there was a great part that made me happy too. I'm happy I listened to these, they're just what I needed for the end of this year.
**************************************
Ooh final book of the series. It wasn't my favorite one, but I thought it was a good ending. It answered a lot of questions and we saw resolution with Bridget and the supernatural battle. Kit was sort of angsty at the beginning which I didn't love, but it was explained why at least. The best part was the smut, duh, but especially in this one because we saw more scenes with two or more of the guys. I mean, that's a huge reason I read reverse harem anyway right? LOL. I liked all the supernatural characters, especially new ones we hadn't seen before. I kind of wish there was a spin off with more information about the new supernatural world, but at least there's a novella to read!
This book was a major let down for me. It felt like the entire series was all foreplay and build up and then there’s the worlds shortest climax if there even is one.
It starts out with Kit going supper cliche on her whole embrace-the-dark-side trope and does noting that wasn’t already overdone in 100+ tv shows/movies/books
1) Wines about her good side’s death? ✔️ 2) Kills people for no reason and in the most dramatic way possible? ✔️ 3) Wears leather because how dare she be original? ✔️
You could make a bingo or drinking game out of all the boxes she checks.
Then after her whole 1 short chapter’s killing spree she’s easily saved through the power of menage sex. Literally. 😑 I’m all for lots of sex, but there is a time and a place for it and if it’s just thrown in there it feels cheep. No matter how much the 2 (or in this case (6:1) couple care or love each other. And no amount of sexy men or sexy talk can change that. It goes without saying that Tate blatantly ignored that rule.
After she bangs all 6 of her men you can completely forget anything that happened before. Cause literally they all forget about it and pretend it didn’t happen. And while reading this I was seeing red. I mean what kind of lazy writing is it to spend the end of one book and the beginning of the other all to set up this “character building” arc all to LITERALLY throw all that work away within 1/2 a chapter? It pretty much went like this:
Kit: I did bad stuff and I killed a bunch of people Her guys: oh that’s ok cause that wasn’t really you; it was just an extension of your magic. *destroys evil magic in two sentences* Kit: we good now and I can continue screwing you every chance I get without getting ANY consequences for the whole killing spree that I went on that was apparently supper important for me to experience for some unknown reason that only the author knows? Her guys: yep Kit: oh okay then
Now repeat this same 🤬 scenario between Kit and River almost word for word. Like I said, I saw red. 😑😡🤬
Next the characters spend 1000+ (ebook) pages collecting broken shards of a magical pendent in the worlds EASIEST scavenger hunt. And travel to their battle location.
And instead of actually having some bad ass battling everyone gets the 🤬 kicked out of them so pathetically easily that I quit reading for a week cause of how much I lost interest.
But that’s not all, cause not only was this battle boring but we also get to read the most obvious example of lazy writing and shortest Deus Ex Machina moment ever. And you’re blindsided with an ending.
This series was really good. All the way up to this book. Honestly I wish I never read it. I should have stoped reading when Tate stoped giving a 🤬. Cause obviously she’s more interested in her next project/series to give this book the attention it deserved like she did the other ones.
It causes my heart to ache knowing this was the last book of this series. 😩.. I must say I really enjoyed the ride of the ups and down of my Heroes and Heroine. So with with a heavy heart I say goodbye to one of the best series in the Reverse Harem genres I've read in a while.
Bravo 👏🏾 Tate James on a job well done.
Overall rating: 5*~ For the entire series~ A Very Good Read
So..I just finished the series and must say I’m as disappointed as I thought I would be. If anyone is reading this, prepare yourself cuz’ this is going to be harsh! The only reason I kept reading these books was because I thought Kit would grow, but unfortunately she did not. She was as stupid, slutty, and full of herself as she was in the beginning. The only positive aspect of these books was the guys and the snake that pops up in the fifth installment. Actually, that snake said some things to Kit that I kept repeating to myself throughout my reading (like you’re so stupid). Here is one of that times I just wanted to yell at her: KIT: “Well fuck,” I replied. It really was the best I could come up with. Maybe I was more exhausted than I had realized. ME: Hummm..nop that’s not it! You are just the most ignorant and useless person EVER!
As I’ve said in my previous reviews, I really get that this is a reverse harem but that does not mean that you need to fill the book with sex all the time. Take The Curse of the Gods series for example...Willa is a great protagonist! She is funny, strong, you really believe she loves the guys and the story flows. That was the first reverse harem series I’ve read and then I read Charcoal Tears from Jane Washington and maybe thats why my hopes were so high for these books. Having said all that, these books just fell short for me, mainly because the supposed love Kit felt for them was just not believable for me. Also, I did not understand how or why they loved her. She was just..urgh. I kept wanting to smash her stupid head against the wall. She was so self centered that she didn’t even bother to really get to know the guys or to really learn how to fight, even though she kept saying that she wanted to fight and not let other people take care of her. Also there were major flaws regarding the story such as the author rushing things like the time Wesley spent with his people. There were also a lot of unexplained things such as how the hell did Kit got her powers back during the ritual that was supposed to strip all of her magic? Maybe if she cut some of the unnecessary sex scenes, the books would be better. All in all, for me it was just a series about a spoiled, immature and horny kid (I won’t call her a woman cuz’ i just don’t see her that way), being protected and loved by these amazing people that she did not deserve at all! I just hate her and not because she was so well written that she was a great villan. Its because she was horrible in every way! Wake up people and stop rating five stars for these series. It really does not even deserve one star. Unfortunately, after this experience I won’t be spending money on this author again.
WOWZERS! I thought I remembered what happened in this book! And while yes, I did remember the major stuff. There was slightly less major stuff that I COMPLETELY forgot about. And I can't believe I did because while I was reading I was coming up to stuff and I was just like "holy shit, I really forgot about that". Lol!
Anywho! As I've said in my reviews of the past books, I love this series. So. Much. And I was sad to have to give the characters up again.
But then! I found out there's a little novella you can read! Fuck yes! GIVE ME! TAKE MY MONEY! I am so ridiculously excited! Even though it's only 90 pages I get a little while longer with some of my most favorite characters ever.

First read and review August 2018
I am beyond upset that this series is over. I really don't know what I'm going to do without these six incredibly sexy, sassy guys and their Ban-Dia!
I'm not gonna give a layout of what happens in this book because if you're reading reviews of the final book in this series you should've read the first five books to know what was going to happen in this book. Or better yet, if you're reading reviews for the final book in this series to figure out if you want to read this series, that's just plan stupid, so stop. Lol.
Anywho, I was ridiculously happy with the outcome of this series. The way this book ended was a-okay in my opinion. I loved the way everything turned out. I was a little worried. But finally getting to the end, those worries went right out the window.
I can't say with enough enthusiasm through a keyboard how much I absolutely adored this series. And again, I am so sad that it is over. ):
This series is over! I am strangely sad to be saying goodbye to Kit and her men. It’s been a massive guilty pleasure for me over the last few months. It’d be hard to argue that this is great literature, but this series is so addictive. Just mindless fun. It’s hard to give a non-spoilery review of book 6 in a series, but I did think this one ended things well and tied up all loose ends. There is a pretty intense, great battle scene and things just finally all come together. It is definitely the most extreme in terms of sexual content-this series has always been VERY graphic, but this one seems to contain more scenes that most would consider on the kinkier end of the spectrum. This series is great because with 6 love interests, there has to be one who suits your tastes! The plot itself isn’t spectacular and can be a little messy. It is pretty cliche and predictable. I do think it can be a little bit of a cop-out at times-she really shies away from killing off any of her characters. I mean, this series is trashy and isn’t meant to be taken too seriously. It is pure self indulgence if that’s what you’re looking for, a series where you don’t have to think much. I will miss these characters and this world.
More than anything I am so sad to see this series end. It was truly different, engaging and just damn good. I do feel some of the circumstances which initially seemed like they would be bigger and harder more problems to solve they were resolved easier and quicker than I liked. Again this could be because I didn’t want the story to end but regardless to Kit and all her guys (the most powerful of their races) I guess it’s safe to assume that both mental and physical fights wouldn’t be much more than a nuisance to them. Overall I loved the story and much of plot such as the concept of Ban Dia and badbe (Wesley’s species) were new to me so I found them extremely fascinating. And who doesn’t like a supremely badass female who even without magic is still remarkable, smart and obscenely talented. Throw in the fact that she gets six incredible hot and powerful mates and well you can safely say I’m jealous lol. I loved how the story ended where it began for the group, with Kit breaking into a high tech facility to steal a priceless artifact, that gaudy and disgusting diamond ring from book one, this time tucked away in a little place known as the Louvre lol. Throw in the fact that the guys are able to pull one over on her and and even her well you’ve got one hell of a story on your hands. Each six books were great and while I’m sad to see the series go, I’ll certainly keep this author on my radar and maybe even hope for a new generation book perhaps with their children in the future.
**2020 Review** What an epic conclusion. I am convinced this was the best book of the series. Not only do we get the final showdown but also a glimpse into Kit and River’s darker sides. I loved that they had to travel to different supernatural beings in hopes of finding pieces to an amulet that may or may not assist in defeating Kit’s mom Bridget. It was also pretty cool to get more of a glimpse of some of the magical beings like a Hydra during the battle. I’m with Wesley, it’s almost a shame so many fought for the wrong side and now dead their species will never be known or recorded. The end though was truly the best and having Vali deliver it was classic and totally took Kit and even me by surprise. Sometimes it’s so good to forget things during a re-read because I was cheesing like Wisconsin. This was just an all around good book and I’m so happy with the way things ended. The previous two books were almost boring in comparison but this one came back with a bang and ended with an explosion, so sad it’s over.
my reviews for this series keep getting shorter and briefer, and that's mainly because these books are just kinda all blending together now. it doesn't help that i'm reading the box set for this, so as soon as one book finishes i literally just start the next one. but honestly these books are getting kinda tiresome, and though they're still good fun, i know that this series definitely won't be on my favourites list in the future. the boys are still great, and River, Cole and Austin are honestly my babes (i highkey need a foursome with them) but i miss awkward, cute, blushing Wesley, and the others aren't just as special for me. and though Kit makes me laugh, she's also getting kinda boring.
nonetheless, this is a great series and recommended for a quick, light read! i devoured this entire series in about a week :))
A 4 star series. Out of the 5 books in this series, only one was bad and the other four were pretty good.
I actually liked the resolution of how Kit chose to handle Bridget. It had a sense of poetic justice. All loose ends were tied up and I loved the Lucy storyline, it was perfect.
What really swayed me into loving this just a little bit more was the fact that Kit didn't end up pregnant at the end which is usually how these series end.
Holy fucking shit guys. This is the end! I read this whole 6 book series in a month! And by read I mean like I physically read every ebook, I didn't have this as an audio!! I can't believe I made it through 6 fucking books. But damn were they so damn enjoyable!!
The Alpha's Pack picks up where book 5 left out. Kit has let in her inner darkness and has altered who she is. When she comes back to herself she must figure out how to face the consequences of her actions while also preparing to face off with her mother.
I loved the supernatural element of this book. I feel like we learn and see so much more of that aspect in this book. For the series as a whole, the paranormal aspect has always been a little underdeveloped. But both the characters and smut way make up for it.
Speaking of smut, holy shit there was some intense af sex scenes. They were glorious. They were definitely condensed into certain areas of the book since Kit had so much to do. I really liked how much action happened in this book. The pacing felt much quicker than it did in the others and there was less waiting around for answers.
I can't believe the series is over. I will have to track down The Hellhound's Legion at some point because I desperately don't want to leave this universe!
The best way I can break this book down is by describing it like 6 books in 1 . There is so much going on its like 6 mini stories all in one edition in order to round up the series and bring it to an end.
Book 1 The evil Kit tries to take over the world - scary ass mo-fo she most certainly was Books 2-5 A short visit to 4 supernatural races each complete with its own mini adventure. Book 6 The big finale.
I really enjoyed the mini books 1-5 it was the big finish/battle that I had a major problem with. It was cleared up much too easily
It was like...okay I need to wrap this up now...how can this end....I know I'll just pull something outt a know where and stick it in there...no one will notice.
Besides that and the still annoying coffee-is-life and "cuties" it was a successful conclusion. And if nothing else then you should read this for the smoking hot sex scenes. Gurrrl Tate James has got that down. Phew it was hotter than noon on the four of July
Just the right amount of hotness too. There was a few problems in earlier books where it took over this time she got it just right
so I was happy and I'm glad I finished the series. I did find it hard to pick between 3 and 4 stars but you know what...I was in a good mood and I'm glad she didn't drag it out over another 3 books. 1 book per MC is a good amount for RH.
i understand the need to create six books (that could probably be condensed into a trilogy, given how underwhelming some parts of this book can be) for the sake of the aesthetic titles and because each book represents a new beginning and transformation of each character, but HOWEVER, i'd like to emphasize how this book feels like edging , and not in a good way. to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. i was always looking forward to their adventures and on edge when they were about to go looking for things that might be useful for their roots and their end game; like they all make it sound like the battle and stuff they'll be doing are gonna be big or whatever, only for it to be rather anticlimactic when we get to the scene.
this book is giving 📈📉📈📉📈📉
this is just another episode of plot is good but execution is bad. it definitely could be written better, but then again, I understand because it's written Kit's POV (she's not a very likeable character, imo).
though i would like to leave here how i absolutely love the found family in this book, its the saving grace of the series honestly. definitely loved all the side characters and the harem.
the vixens lead: 4 ⭐ the dragon's wings: 4 ⭐ the tigers ambush: 3 ⭐ the viper's nest: 3 ⭐ the crow's murder: 2.5 ⭐ the alpha's pack: 3.5 ⭐
After Kit and River go off on their own for a while to track down the doctor that was using Kit's blood to make super soldiers, the gang eventually ends up back together to prepare for war with Bridget. In addition to gathering as many supernaturals as possible to add to their ranks, they find out about an amulet that might help destroy the bonds Bridget has with her guardians. Getting the amulet might not be easy. In the end,
I can't believe this series is done and I'm a little sad. It was a decent ending.....it didn't go down quite like I expected and I was a little surprised with the quick resolution at the end. Maybe it was the smutfest in the first 3rd of the book, but all in all, I am happy.
I liked that series. It was fun, mysterious, with love and action, adventures and banter all the way ! Tate James, I'll definitely read more of your work after this !
The characters were great and well written, you could definitely see the different personalities quickly. And I loved the little running gags about the coffee, Sam, Yes Sir and some more. I loved how very natural they were all being together, you could feel the harmony of this group.
Really a great RH for me, the smut was light but it was good. I mean, yes sure, when dealing with monsters and supernatural, you kind want to spice the scenes a bit with that. But what I loved the most was the alchemy between them.
I'll miss Vali and Austin the most I think... (obviously)
Good end to this series. Some things were a little predictable but I didn't mind. I am very glad though that the "flavor" of this book was more like books 1 and 2 which I really liked.
3.75⭐️ This book was an improvement over the last couple in the series. Overall, it was an interesting series. It definitely kept me entertained. My complaint with this final installment was the final battle. This 6 book series has been building up to that moment, and it was all much too quick and tidy. Everything wrapped up with a nice little bow. The intensity and suspense were missing from those final chapters. Also, the new post battle issues (new shifters/magic emerging) were concluded much too quickly (if you can call it concluded). There really wasn't any detail given about what actually happened. That should have been expanded upon and resolved. Basically, the ending felt rushed, as if the word count had been reached and time had ran out without the depth and detail that I had been anticipating. This was a good book and interesting series. It just could have been great with a little more forethought and a few more chapters.
Don’t want to say too much about it but there were some good twists along the way and I just loved the epilogue. A great end to this fun series! (I do have a few unanswered questions but I think they will be answered in the epilogue novella)
3 stars for the serious . The first 5 books were flowing , fast and very easy . the last one took me forever to finish . It was a nice and fun read . not more , not less .
That ending sucked ass! Which really sucks because I genuinely loved the series overall! I'm still laughing about Rumplesnakeskin! I just HATE when loose ends aren't tied up! What happened at the UN meeting? How is the world coping? How is Bridget doing? What ever happened to Nicholi? How is Lucy alive & what happened to her? What happened when River let all his forms together? How is Omega? Is there still a war with the humans or any of Bridget's side? Was there no fallout from Kit's destruction on Area 51? How is Kit getting along with Vic? What is he able to tell her without the binds in the way? What about River & his Uncle's new relationship or the Romanians? I rather have had any one of those questions answered than a stupid wedding scene that Kit didn't even care about to begin with!! That's another thing- Austin gave a tattoo, River gave a ring- what were the others things?
Also, it REALLY bothered me that she never kept her deal with Seamus! They ended up with the book, & all poor Seamus got was dead! It was just bad writing- if you weren't going to resolve it, why bother in the first place?
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
And just like that it’s done. I’m sad to finish this series, I’ve really been loving it. I think this was a good conclusion to the series. I know there’s a short novella but I’m assuming it won’t contain too much content.
There’s not much I can say as this is the final book without spoilers so I’ll keep this as a short review. I enjoyed the ending, I wish it was longer but overall am glad with the results.
There are definitely some surprises and we go on a journey with the characters. I really think this book had a lot of great elements where we got to see the older generations of these powerful men and learn a little bit more about their history. I highly recommend this series.
What a magical ending to this series! I'm so happy Kit and her dianochs got the happily ever after they deserved. This journey was so magical and the rollercoaster ride was one for the books. I am so happy my smutty and nutty gals convinced me to read this series! It's become one of my favorites of Tate James, but trying to pick a favorite is nearly impossible when it comes to her masterful work.
I can’t believe it’s over! Anyone who loves mythology or has a sense of humour needs to read this. I would of liked to see Cole and Vali a bit closer but all things considered it was more natural, anything other would of been forced. What am I going to do with myself now?? Great work from this author. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
This was a great story and series to get lost in. Kit comes into her own. Finally getting the love and family she never had. Learning she is powerful mystical creature. Finding out about where she came from and bring magic back to the earth.
What a waste of a last book. I feel like if Tate had planned this series better it could have been 4 really good books, but by the end of book 4 the plot was in tatters and then the last two books just made 0 sense.
Well the start of this book was hot and heavy. I'm amazed that kit can still walk. The rest was more subdued. I like the quest for the necklace and how the relationships were tested but I didn't think much of the battle. i hate it when things are hyped up and then the author doesn't deliver. From about 75% I knew the fight wouldn't be epic as we were running out of pages for it to be epic.
