This was a decent fifth instalment of V.A.Lewis’s Salvos series. Probably not as good as the fourth book but still an enjoyable read. The series is a fun YA LitRPG series that mixes action and adventure with some slice of life drama and comedy. It also has a fun lead character!

This felt like a bit of a side adventure. Sol (the Devil) takes Salvos on a trip to learn a Grand Skill over the school holidays. It was back to adventuring for Salvos. This time with Sol as company. It was fun enough and we met some more species and characters.

All in all a solid instalment of what is a fun YA action adventure series.

Rating: 3.5 stars.

Audio Note: Tess Irondale was great with the audio. She is fast becoming one of my favourite narrators.

V.A. Lewis, you have used up your usage count for the word "undulating" likely for your lifetime. I get its a fun word but when you use it to describe everything from landscapes to body movements, I can't help but start laughably counting when I hear it.

Villain monologuing is weak. Little to no humor present in the first five books. I'm probably done with this series at this point.

Amazing book

Have been a fan since book one, and cant wait for the next. I love how the story is self sufficient and does not rely on the "LitRPG" mechanics to make the book good, instead those features enhance the story.

I AM SPEACHLESS

All i can say is that i never expect this. There are no words to how much i enjoyed this. I want to see what she will do. If she will still be able to turn human. Sleep? Eat? Still be the salvos we love but better? I love to see her improve and get better. I just still wanna see that she can still be herself (even in human form) with her friends. I can’t wait for the next one!!

So after ending up in the bloody gulf and gaining a handful of levels Salvos makes some animal friends... whom gets shoved to the side and never shows up again. But the devil reappears and some dynamic plot progression happens in the next part. Honestly this Author has great pacing and the right ideas for the story to be interesting at each point in the plot. The only detriment is how brainless the characters are.

If I revisit this series I'll skip 90% of this book. I skipped ahead on my first listen. There were good parts. Don't let this 2 star review put you off the series or even this book. I'm about to start the sixth book in a little bit.

Do demons have families? Viva la Salvos!

If you were wondering about my one-liner about families, just read this book. It is as fun and amazing as all the others with a little insight into demon families and a possible explanation to the disappearance of dragons and a way to replace them in saving and protecting the world. Seriously awesome!

Awesome

I have to say that there are some incredible amount of action within this book, some great building of relationships, and I absolutely loved the new familial relationship that formed between Salvos and someone else. The evolutions were awesome, the enemies were interesting, and the characterizations were fun to read. Another great addition to the series.

Becoming repetitious.

When this mentioned three parts, I assumed this would all be set up. But while the details are different, the action is the same as before with no deviation. The side stories are filler, nothing is really happening.

Story stalls and ends abruptly

It’s annoying that the story ends right after gaining new skills and a title without ever telling us what they are. Also, the story really dragged in this one compared to the others.

This is a good book

I highly recommend this book to anyone. It has a lot of drama, a lot of action,. It reads like a video game with the leveling up and all but it still has the fine chef's kiss of a decent novel.

This book is much like the other Salvos stories. She is obsessed with progressing and spends a lot of time in situations dedicated to that pursuit. This book she spends her time in the bloody gulf with the centinels. The side stories progressed some and we were introduced to the fairy queen and the demon king through Sal. There was plenty of action and adventure in the story but I don’t think the stats need to be shared so often it gets redundant and very little changed. There were a lot of spelling errors so this definitely needs to be edited more thoroughly.

Shorter but still good

This was a shorter read than the other books but it still covers a lot of interesting ground and our hero, Salvos undergoes a lot of growth.

I didn't like this book anywhere near as much as the first 4 books, I felt it focused too much on Salvo leveling against mindless monsters. Hopefully this will turn around in book 6.

Least favorite of the series so far. Felt like a filler book.
Most of this book was just reading power stats, not much else happened

Responsibility came quick and scary :)
Good book, solid, but a lot of fighting. Previous one was better though. Whole of the series very recommended
