Hedbor's latest novel, The Will, is set in Philadelphia beginning in 1776. For me what is unique about this novel is that it is told from the perspective of a young man overhearing stories from the past about a man who he believes is his father. Issac Melcher is the Barracks-Master General for Pennsylvania, so the reader will gain an understanding of civilian life in Philadelphia as the British are trying to occupy the city, as well as information about the army. This is a must for those who would like to learn more about life in America and the struggles of all during the war.
