Robbie I lived for the thrill of a fight because I had nothing else. I had never needed anyone and I still didn't. . . but I wanted him, a boy I knew only as Hazel, a nickname given by the colour of his beautiful eyes.
A pretty boy like him didn't belong in a place like this. . . in the darkness of The Underworld, where men became machines . . .or monsters depending on their morals. He didn't belong with a boy like me, but he certainly didn't belong with the girl he was stringing along.
Eelya He was everything I fought not to become. He was the nightmare of what I'd end up. I had lost everything; my home, my family, my spirit. But I was lucky, I found replacements for almost everything I'd lost. There was just one piece left to find, and I knew I wouldn't find it in the arms of the girl I tried to convince myself I loved, I could only find it in the arms of a man built for destruction. I could lie to myself. I could lie to the world. But I couldn't lie to him.
Trigger Warning : This book is a prequel/spin-off to the Untraditional Fairy Tale Duet, themes within those books are referenced throughout. Please note, this book is strictly for readers 18 years+; it contains scenes and references that some readers may find disturbing, This is your trigger warning.
This book is a M/M romance, a story of romance and bromance. And while this book could potentially be read as a standalone, it is best enjoyed after reading the duet, An Untraditional Fairy Tale, as you will have a better feel of the characters. While most of it is set prior to the previous releases, the prequel and final chapter takes place afterwards and will have spoilers regarding the other books.
A perfect ending for Eelya & Robbie. Well, the story of their beginning and the beginning of their HEA. I honestly don't know which one I live more. I always knew there was more to Robbie than the silent, brooding male in the room. There are most definitely triggers in this book. So skip it if you have any. The "bad guys" are unforgivable in this untraditional fairy tale and their punishments are justifiably brutal.
I'm so glad I read this book. I fell in love with the main characters and it answered a few questions. It provided so much more insight on all three of the main male characters and I loved reading the back story. Read an untraditional fairy tale duet first.
This was a great read. Loved the banter and spice between the two characters. The story flowed well and kept my attention the whole time. Really enjoyed the darkness and the fighting parts, too.
This book had me on a roller coaster with my emotions. They were there for each other. They supported him they supported each other. I love the happy ending.
I really enjoyed this book, after the heaviness of part 2 of AUFT this was a beautiful way to end the series. I was so intrigued by these boys and wanted more of their story and this book delivered in every way, probably my favorite of the 3 and I was surprised as I didn't think I would enjoy a MM story as much as I did.
Whoa! If you enjoyed the first two books of this series, this prequel will soon be a favorite! Not only is Cori’s writing AMAZING and character development solid, but the mix of heat with plot is so well balanced. I am still blown away with how beautifully and lovingly she details Charles turmoil and the relationship he and Eeyla share. Robbie made me love him, hate him, and love him again. So fucking well done and I wish there were more!!
A story or deep love, brotherly love, romantic love, love for family and real loyalty and trust conquered in the hardest, purest way. A book different from other books: real and brutal at the same time. Not for fainted hearts. Can't wait to read Charles' story
