A sweet and steamy Valentine's Day novella that's perfect for fans of a little bit of magic with their romance!
Kissie Mitchell had always kept her life in order with a strict set of rules - until she met Andrew Trig. When Kissie arrives at Mystic Hot Springs in the remote town of Twin Hearts, Montana for a Valentine's Day getaway with her best friend, she's determined to find a rebound guy and put her ex behind her. But she never expected her plan to be complicated by the resort's sweet and smoking hot bartender.
Trig, with his soulful brown eyes, thick beard, and Keanu Reeves good looks, is an unexpected temptation Kissie can't resist. As the sexual tension between them steams up, Kissie must decide if a single night will send her running away, or if sometimes moving on means staying right where you are.
This was a well written, low angst, (kinda)holiday romance novella with a gem of hero. How I loved him! He was thoughtful, kind considerate and a romantic. Unfortunately the heroine spoiled the book for me. She kind of redeemed it in the last part but still I didn’t like her. And I also loved the magic Mystic town and it’s wonderful people. Epilogue was sweet.
Recommended. Hero was celibate from day 1. But heroine had another relationship after meeting the hero.
Get out your notepad and take notes because Kissie has 7 rules of moving on and if followed by careful instruction you can find yourself in the middle of the small town Twin Hearts,in a cute bar with a dreamy bartender who loves Taylor Swift.
Kissie just dragged her best friend Dawn on a get-over-your-ex road trip and find themselves in Twin Hearts. While Dawn is dancing of depression, Kissie finds herself making googly eyes with the hot bartender, and her stomach exploding with butterflies when he kisses her. They hit it off immediately and so naturally, but the realization of that she is only there for the weekend hangs over them like a dark cloud.
Fast forward 2 years and now Kissie faces a broken heart, and is dragged to Twin Hearts. Trig(aka Hot Bartender) hasn’t stopped thinking about her ever since they met, and even saved one of her jingles as his ringtone. Now Kissie needs to follow her own 7 step rule, convincing Trig to be her wingman. With so much tension and possibility in every interaction, will Kissie finally stop following the rules, and start following her heart?
This was a quick, funny and spicy read. If you love small town romance you’ll absolutely eat this up. For such a short book the chemistry was fantastically written and the banter to die for. The ending was quaint, but left me wondering if something will ever happen between Dawn and Ryan..
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this novella. All thoughts and opinions of this book is my own.
Small magic town ☑️ Beaded attractive man in plaid who listen to Taylor Swift?☑️ Talking bear☑️
The story follows Joni-known as Kissie- who visits a small town to help her best friend move on from her ex. Kissie meets a hot bartender, Trig, and the two hit it off immediately. Unfortunately her trip was only for the weekend.
Two years later she has returned with her own broken heart but find Trig who hasn’t forgotten about her and has the jingle she made, as his ringtone.
Kissie follows a set of 7 rules and Trig agrees to be her wingman while her best friend is sick. And in return, she can help his favourite town not to be sold to the enemy.
I loved this book and read it so quickly! I love all the characters and have so many highlighted parts because I was laughing the entire way.
I do wish this was longer and she was staying for more than the weekend as you would be able to see more of the characters and see how her and Trig connection grows but this is a novella so it would make sense.
But this was such a quick read that reminds me so much like a hallmark vibes with spice! I was laughing, my heart was hurting, my face was blushing. I loved it all! I do need to know if anything happens between Ryan and Dawn though….
Thank you netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read and ARC of this story. And thank you for Jess K Hardy for writing such an amazing story. I will definitely be reading more of her stuff!
This is a cute little small town romance. I just don’t know if this genre of rom-com totally works on me. The cute townspeople all had charming little backstories. The FMC and MMC all had interesting quirks, careers they were dedicated to, and friends to support them. It’s all very wholesome.
This is a happy, light hearted romance being released on Valentine's Day. In the magical small town of Twin Hearts, Montana, Kissie (Cassandra) Mitchell takes her best friend to visit the Mystic Hot Springs. She is there to help her friend get over a cheating ex. As wingwoman she has laminated rules (she is a rule follower in life) that she must keep. She shares the rules with the Sexy Bartender Trig, while keeping her BFF out of trouble. She also shares a magical kiss. Trig is so smitten that two years later he is still using a jingle she wrote as his ring tone. Fast forward and the girls are back but this time Kissie is broken hearted. When her friend becomes ill Trig offers to be her wingman and he doesn't want to be rebound guy.
This is blazing steamy and a fun quick read. (I couldn't tell how many pages it is on my device.). I loved and laughed at the rules and highlighted them in my copy. I enjoyed both the main characters in this small town romance. They have good banter and good intentions. I am rooting for their HEA. I am not familiar with the author but will look for future books. Thank you to NetGalley and the author for a eARC in exchange for a honest review.
This book had a rough start, truthfully but it ended up pulling it together at the end.
I loved the concept of the small town vibe and everything that surrounds it, felt very magical. This book made me have some feels!!
It felt immature and very insta love at the beginning BUT as it went on I feel like the author found the direction they wanted to go and really stepped up. It felt more adult like and I felt a lot more connected with the characters.
I felt myself rooting for them the whole time and wanting them to be together. The ending was strange but Kissie and Trig for life.
Thank you Netgalley for the arc kindle copy to read and post my review on.
This gave me Hallmark movie vibes, but with a little spice. It is sweet, funny, and so endearing.
Kissie & Dawn are staying in this quaint little town, helping Dawn get over her recent breakup. Kissie, the greatest wingwoman, has 7 rules she goes by when dealing with breakups and nothing will sway her from the list. It's laminated! 2 years later it is Dawn's turn to play wingwoman. Returning to the same little town, Dawn is determined to help Kissie get over her recent breakup, however, she falls ill and the wingwoman duties are left to the handsome bartender, Trig. Suddenly the rules are being put to the test. Will Kissie stick to her rules or will she break them?
I am a hopeless romantic and love this kind of book and even better, novellas. I get that love hit, but just a little quicker. It has everything you want. Misunderstandings, lovable characters, the most romantic setting, sweet, touching moments, and a little bit of spice. I also loved Ryan, Trig's best friend, and I hope he gets his own novella and maybe Dawn will make an appearance??
The town of Twin Hearts is beyond enchanting. It is full of dreamy locations, friendly locals, a hot bartender, and the resident rich bad boy. If a town like this exists, I want to live there. Everything is so idyllic, it's a little slice of heaven on earth with its own northern lights.
Fyi - Trig is a mythical being. Okay, he is human, but when a man can hit THAT spot, well, it's the stuff of fantasy novels! lol
Thank you so much BookSirens & Jess K Hardy for the free advanced copy. I am leaving my review voluntarily.
This is a story about Kissie, a Jingle writer who likes to live her life by the rules. After her boyfriend dumps her, she decides to find a no-strings attached rebound guy and move on fast in the small town called Twin Hearts. Enter Andrew Trig, a sexy bartender at the resort Kissie is staying in. It's not long before sparks start to fly and Kissie has to make the decision about whether she should play by the rules or listen to her heart.
I liked this book. Trig was a really nice guy, too good for the world honestly. I found Kissie to be a bit stubborn instead of being firm. Honestly though, I loved how both of them bonded and that chemistry was MINDBLOWING. Ryan and Dawn had me laughing with their weird relationship antics and I liked the book more because of them.
I do wish this book was a bit longer because it felt like they'd only known each other for two whole days before all the drama happened. I also feel like the drama with Lane and Kissie, and Trig's feelings of betrayal about it were justified. Even if she didn't cheat, being with Lane for whatever innocent reason cannot be right. And I kinda don't like Kissie because of it.
Overall, if you're looking for a small town romance, with a hot bartender who likes Taylor Swift, talking bears and hallmark vibes situation (with extra bits of spice!), this one's for you!

4 stars **Thank you NetGalley and Victory Group Co-op for this free eArc in exchange for an honest review**
What a wholesome yet steamy read this novella is! It has everything typically cliche about a Valentine's Day read - a small town that is full of warmth, magic, and love for the festivities, a hot bartender that has a heart as well as an amazing body, and a really sweet story about two people who meet by chance and reunite two years later.
I really liked the storyline of this novella. Kissie is a stickler for rules and has 7 of them on how to get over a breakup. I loved watching how she implemented these the first time around with her bestie Dawn, to then find that rules and Trig didn't quite mix when it was her turn to use them - or that he was worth breaking all the rules for. I'll admit it, I hate instalove at the best of times, and this story is riddled with it. But for some reason, it didn't bother me nearly as much as I thought it would. Trig and Kissie make falling in love seem so easy and right, even if there are genuine fears and concerns around that. Further, the chemistry between them was executed well, not overly detailed and yet enough to make this the perfect romance to read on February 14th.
Kissie is helping a friend get over a bad relationship and while playing the role of wingwoman, meets the man of her dreams. Unfortunately, she has 7 strict rules in place to keep her and her friend safe and flourishing. She's made getting over an ex the best game and getting a slice of the hot bartender pie at Mystic Hot Springs isn't on the menu during this moving-on vacation.
But years later, when they cross paths again, this time with her in the breakup hotseat, she'd love to throw those rules she made out the window.
Trig is trying to keep the resort he loves open for business and when Kissie, the jingle-creating marketing expert that he cannot get out of his head, walks back into his bar, he makes a deal to keep her as close as possible.
This was adorable, made me laugh, and had perfect pearl-clutching steam. I loved it and need more in this series!
Pick it up if you love vacation romance, rebound fails, low-angst, instalove but smart about it romances.
I really liked this Valentine’s Day novella by Jess K Hardy, one of my fave contemporary romance authors.
Kissie (yes), our FMC, would probably have been annoying in another writer’s hands, but I found her super funny and charming rather than quirky-irritating. She and her friend go to a hot spring resort in Montana so her friend can get over her rubbish boyfriend, and Kissie ends up connecting with the charming bartender, Trig. Their chemistry is palpable 💥
Hardy packs a lot into a novella and does it really well. There is what I think is a reference to Cole in Lips Like Sugar (“drummer magic”) and possibly a link to The Curse of Nona May Taylor (I won’t spoil it, but it is delightfully bonkers, just like that book).
It’s also plenty steamy, but that felt well balanced and right for the story.
One point off for the truncated timeline — there had to have been a way for them to be together longer — and the Taylor Swift reference, because her new album just dropped and I have had ENOUGH. 😆
This was an absolutely lovely novella! The pacing was perfect and I still can’t believe it was only 163 pages-so much happened, it was a truly well rounded story. I was fully invested in Kissie and Trig’s story, riveted until the very end. Jess K. Hardy did a wonderful job establishing these characters and the quirky little town of Twin Hearts in such a limited number of pages. I sincerely hope this is the start of a series and that we’ll see more of Trig & Kissie and Twin Hearts in future stories… Ryan’s perhaps?
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Ah what a lovely book. I read some reviews and I picked up this book because of them. I’m so glad I got it. The story glided by so fast and was very enjoyable. The blossoming love between Trig and Kissie (love the names) was slow but needed for the story. And the ending was perfect. If you love a small town feel and two amazing adults trying to find their own magic, this book is for you! On a side note the author was very generous offering a 2nd epilogue to the story. Which again was adorable! I am looking forward to reading Ryan’s story. Which hopefully fingers crossed will be soon. I received this ARC from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
Received a copy for review** For a novella, there is a lot going on. Although the story was okay, the behavior of the characters was more in line with younger people. They are both at or near 30. There was also a scene that concerned me where the characters have had too much to drink. And one tries to convince the other to have sex. That popped me right out of the book.

Jess K. Hardy must have lived in a resort town at some point. Reading about Mystic made me think of Pagosa Springs and all the awesome weirdos I know there. I believe in magic, love, and the bear. Great quick contemporary read.

Rating - 2.75/5
Kissie + Trig
✔️ Second Chance ✔️ Small Town ✔️ Music Composer/ Bartender ✔️ Age Difference : 4 years ✔️ Separation : 2 years [First time]; 2 weeks [Last time] ✔️ HEA
Thoughts :
- Hot Sexbomb Bartender and Sexy Bar Babe?😂 So cheesy and cute!
- Anyone else was getting 'The Kissing Booth' vibe from mentioning about the rules?
- I honestly find the name Kissie and nickname Kiss kinda annoying. No offense to all the people named Kissie out there. Krissie or Kristie sounded much better.
- Both the bedroom talk and bedroom scenes were meh.
- Oh poor poor Trig! The guy was so genuinely sweet and he was such a teddy bear with a heart of gold. He didn't seem like neither an alpha male nor a beta. I didn't mind actually. I really liked him. He didn't deserve the way Kissie hurt him. I can't believe I'm saying this but the way he misunderstood the situation was understandable. Maybe I'm being biased here. I mean the guy never hooked up or been in a relationship with someone else since he shared a kiss with Kissie.
- Kissie. I have mixed feelings about this woman. I mean she had been in a relationship with someone else after meeting Trig. And thought of Trig as a meaningless hookup until he confessed his feelings. I just didn't feel that she was as invested in Trig as he was in her. She behaved with him the same way she behaved with other people. The only difference was that they kissed and later slept together. I know she did a big gesture and all. But by that time I already disliked her so much that it mattered so little to me. After fighting with Trig, she had the nerve to have coffee with the only guy Trig specifically asked her to stay away from and went to a party with him as well. Ugh. How thick headed was she? What would she do if it was the other way around? Trig deserved someone way better. Sigh.
- I cried. Wanna know why? Because Trig and Kissie's reunion was pretty emotional and beautiful. Heck, just reading about Trig crying, made me shed more tears. Why did he have to be a sweet guy?'
- The beer thingy made me cringe. It was really unnecessary.
Okay, so I liked the writing style. This was my first time reading any book of this author. I liked one of the main characters. You guys can guess already which one. I can't say I liked the plot. Pretty forgettable one. But this book had so much potential. Could've been a nice read. Instead it ended up being just an okay-ish read I guess.
There were a lot of moments in this book that I adored, but unfortunately there were also things that just didn’t work for me. I lived and worked in a resort town (in Alberta, coincidentally only a half hour from the Montana border, so a pretty similar setting to this book!) and the way the characters acted reminded me a lot of how I was when I lived there… except I was 21. So when it was mentioned that the characters are 29 & 33, I was surprised. I’m 31 now, so right between their ages, and it just came off as very immature to me now. I would have understood it more if they were a lot younger than they were, but I guess how I expected 30 year olds to talk and act is different than what I expect from 20 year olds.
While I thought the connection with Trig and Kissie was cute, it felt a bit unbalanced. Trig was so into Kissie that he constantly thought about her and didn’t date anyone in the couple years that they went without seeing each other, meanwhile she had a very serious relationship. And there’s nothing wrong with either of those things, but it is a big difference and because of that, it just made me feel like Trig cared more about Kissie than Kissie cared about Trig.
To be honest, I almost DNF-ed this about halfway through, but decided I wanted to finish it. Kissie wants to have sex with Trig, which obviously he wants because he’s very into her, but they’re pretty drunk. One of the rules is no drunken hook ups so he says no (multiple times) and Kissie continues to try to change his mind. Drunk or not, I hate that. No means no, not ‘change my mind’ and despite her apologizing the next day, that scene really made me not really like Kissie anymore.
All that being said, I’m a sucker for a happy ending and this did deliver on that. Despite the relatively short length of this book, it really did feel well developed. I do wish that the last chapter had an update on Dawn, but that’s just a personal preference. I really did like the setting, and overall I did like Trig, but there were things I didn’t love about the story and I just didn’t really care for Kissie, so this book just wasn’t my favourite.
Thank you to Pinkity Publishing & NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book!

If this book was a cooking show, then they were cooking with heat & a few dashes of spice, if you know what I’m saying! Also, they may or may not have broken some health code violations! The chemistry & the banter are absolutely electric. On a girls’ trip fueled with hopes of her best friend Dawn getting over her cheating ex, our main girl Kissie meets the definition of right guy, wrong time. Two year later, the ladies travel back to the magical small town resort, except Kissie is the one needing to get over a cheating ex. Thankfully, she has her 7 rules for moving on & her wingwoman to help her. Kissie is so serious about her rules of getting over an ex, she laminates them!!! That means business. But what happens when the handsome bartender from 2 years ago breaks the rules?! Read The 7 Rules of Moving On by Jess K. Hardy to find out! The love interest Trig is a man with an overflowing bookcase…do I need to say more?! He even gives one of the epic speeches where they name all the best qualities & cute quirks that makes them fall for his love interest. If you’re a millennial, I’m talking One Tree Hill Lucas Scott for Brooke speeches in the pouring rain. (Yes, I know how that ended but it was an epic speech!) This was a wonderful, quick, dual point-of-view romance that just made me smile. It’s an easy 4.5 stars for me! I would also love to read a Dawn & Ryan story with hopefully cameos from their best friends & the interesting cast characters from their town that we met from this book!
Extra thing I loved: -There’s the undercurrent of magic with healing waters & talking bears, which sounds ridiculous, but honestly, I would like to visit! -It mentions Valentine’s Day events & decorations, so it’s the perfect read for this time of year! -I loved that Kissie’s job was writing jingles! It’s clever & unique.
Massive thanks to NetGalley & Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op. for giving me the opportunity to read an arc of this book!
Kissie has these 7 rules for moving on from a break up so she (obviously) laminates them and takes her BFF Dawn to Twin Hearts, MT to get over a break up. While there she serves proudly in her wingwoman role and follows those 7 rules to a T (almost) and helps Dawn recover from her break up. She also meets this incredible, sexy, magical bartender who works at Mystic the town's local hot springs.
Andrew Trig is the magical bartender who swears the magic is at Mystic, in the town of Twin Hearts and maybe in the hearts of those meant to be in their town. Trig loves Mystic with his whole heart and intends to male the place his own. He has been recovering from a broken heart for nearly 2 years when he meets Kissie and Dawn. And his best buddy Ryan can't help but flirt incessantly with the red headed Dawn. While they lookout for their friends Kissie meets a good bit of the people of Twin Hearts and really enjoys them.
Two years later Dawn uses Kissie's 7 rules to help Kissie get over a break up and they return the none other than Mystic! Kissie and Trig see each other again and both realize that their last visit was more impactful then they knew. Through a series of random events Trig and Kissie find themselves together and breaking more than a few of Kissie's rules. . .but rules were meant to be broken, right?
Pick up this novella by Jess Hardy to find out all of the magic of Mystic and the happenings that lead to the end of Kissie's rules. This story is incredibly beautiful and a sweet twist on romance and a bit of fantasy woven throughout.
And the extra chapter if you are lucky enough to get it is perfection!
I read this as part of an ARC and I cannot wait to read so much more of Jess K Hardy! And I am not usually a fantasy reader but this was done so beautifully that I want to read everything she writes!
I received an advanced reader copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
“No matter how brief it might be, no matter how much it might hurt when it ended, when life gave a person a moment like this, they needed to f’in grab it.”
Kissie lives her life by rules, she has always lived her life by these rules. When her friend Dawn finds out that her boyfriend was cheating on here, Kissie took her to Mystic Hot Springs in the town of Twin Hearts, Montana. There they meet Trig and Ryan, who work at Mystic. Kisse and Trig share a moment, but according to her rules, wingwoman are not to hookup when she’s helping her friend move on from her cheating boyfriend.
Two years later, Kissie’s boyfriend, Bryan, has cheated on her. Now, Dawn takes Kissie back to Mystic Hot Springs. Dawn takes ill, and now Trig agrees to be Kissie’s wingman, even though he wants much more than that. In exchange for being Kissie’s wingman, she has agreed to help convince the owners of the of the Resort.
Kissie starts to fall in love with the town of Twin Hearts, as well as Trig. But one night, she starts to break one of her rules, will it ruin all her plans? Does Kissie know what she wants?
This was a very sweet and saucy book! A quick read, and very engaging. There were parts of the book that you could easily visualize in your head and they made you smile. I absolutely loved the description of the little town, it made me hope it was real so that I could go visit! I enjoyed the down to earth characters.
I’m hoping that this turns into a series!
I would definitely recommend this book. It comes out on February 14, 2022. Make sure you pre-order your copy today

When I read the synopsis of this novella it instantly called to me. Who doesn’t love a small-town getaway with a hunky bartender to boot? I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly I read this, I read the whole thing in one sitting. Kissie’s story, mending her best friends broken heart and unexpectedly falling for Trig the hot bartender whilst doing so. It was refreshing and comforting that she had these seven rules, and that she had to follow them. I’m a girl who loves lists and rules/guidelines also, so I connected with her on that level. I also liked that the story was from a dual perspective. Knowing how Trig was feeling also, and reading about their undeniable connection for one another, melted my heart and set it soaring. I love a small town where everyone knows everyone else's business and the fact that everyone also looks out for each other. The way they all could see how Kissie and Trig were together, it was just too sweet for words. This story depicted the struggles and trauma of broken relationships, thoroughly well, in both our main characters and the fact that even though they were both hurting, they somehow still opened up to one another – even if they didn’t want to admit to the other. Thank you to Net Galley for sending me this sweet little story. It felt like a home away from home to delve into.
I really wanted to enjoy this book because the cover is super cute and the synopsis sounded like something I’d enjoy. But, it just left me disappointed.
Most of the way through I thought it was quite good - not brilliant but also not terrible. I loved how the chapters were each named after the 7 rules and that the content of the chapter applied to the rules. I thought the author was very clever with that.
But then the talking bear made an appearance…
I just don’t understand why that was needed. It suddenly made the book feel really naff and it completely ruined the story for me.
I’m not sure if the author intended it to be humorous or something else but I just didn’t get it at all. It seems a shame that one tiny scene made my rating, and my enjoyment, go right down.
As it was a novella, it was very fast paced. It was good in some instances because it prevented me from getting bored. However, in other parts, it felt overly rushed. The romance didn’t really have much detail and the scenes were quite short. Trig was an absolute sweetheart so I really wanted to see more of his romantic side!
There is some spice but again it happens quite quick and it’s not that explicit. I guess personal preference would decide whether that was good or bad.
Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for this e-ARC.
The story Kissie and her friend Dawn are in Mystic Hot Springs for a visit. Dawn has had a recent breakup and Kissie is her wingwoman. She even has a laminated card with the 7 Rules of Moving On that need to be followed. But the Hot Bartender at the rustic accommodation has caught Kissie’s eye and before she and Dawn leave town, Kissie and Trig have shared just one kiss. Two years later, Kissie has just had a breakup of her own and Dawn brings her back to the small Montana town with its hot springs and Northern Lights and the Hot Bartender is still there. He hasn’t forgotten Kissie in the two years since they met. Will Kissie’s Rules get in the way of her Moving On?
My thoughts I so enjoyed this sweet, Valentine-themed novella with its magical small town vibe, and two characters whose immediate attraction for each other has you hoping for a HEA! The pair’s best friends Dawn and Ryan are close by to offer support and the town’s inhabitants add bucketloads of interest. After having read a few Valentine’s novella’s in the past few weeks, I appreciate that the shorter length and faster-moving pace really works well for a holiday themed story. This story is entertaining, provides light reading and cute characters! A thumbs up from me 👍
I read an eARC copy courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher.
Something about this just didn't quite connect for me. It was a cute, quick read in a lovely small-town setting gearing up for Valentine's Day celebrations, but it just sort of...fell flat. Nothing of substance there for you to grab hold of.
The first two paragraphs are almost a prologue, setting up the sparks between "Hot Bartender" Trig and "Sexy Bar Babe" Kissie. Yes, that is what they call each other at first and it's just, blech. It comes across as corny and desperate, rather than fun and flirty. Anyways, they share a steamy kiss and then Kissie goes home, leaving her Hot Bartender to pine for two years thinking about her until she returns to get over being dumped. I didn't mind the time-jump. It made it seem less insta-lovey than it actually was.
The sparks are still there between the two after their separation, and when Kissie's wingwoman falls ill, Trig steps up to be the wingman while Kissie looks to "hook up and get messed up." Being a novella, it felt a bit rushed and over-complicated with juvenile conflicts all in the span of their 3-4 days together. I didn't quite believe that their connection was more fulsome than just a lusting romp.
I received a free copy of this book from BookSirens and am leaving this review voluntarily.
The 7 Rules of Moving On follows Kissie who is on a mission to get over her breakup. She chooses to go to Twin Hearts Montana with her best friend to help get over it. Kissie had her best friend had been to Twin Hearts two years earlier. The first time they were there Kissie meets hot bartender Trig. Kissie left an impression on Trig the first time she was there and Trig couldn't stop thinking about her. Now that Kissie is back again Trig wants to win her over. Soon Trig and Kissie start having feelings for each other. And they have to choose if they want to act upon these feelings.
Thank you, NetGalley, Jess K Hardy, and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the ARC of this one. I thought this was a cute romance. However, I felt like the characters were not that developed. It just seemed like everything was a little rushed. I think if the book was longer it would have been better. Because I would have liked a little more background on these characters. But the relationship between Kissie and Trig was cute. But this wasn't a romance book that I would want to read it again. It was cute for what it was and overall a fast read. But It was just lacking more
when i read the synopsis, i was highly intrigued, as well as with this very cute cover and the hero being compared to Keanu Reeves, i just had to give it a try
unfortunately the story just didn't click with me...
the progress of this story is basically two people being attracted towards each other, they share a kiss and then the heroine leaves. two years later she's back after a breakup, and now she's looking for a rebound but rather than have the hero as her guy, she wants him to be her wingman...
when I read the synopsis i had a whole other idea of how the story would go but as with some novella's it was rushed with not much character development. for the characters age, they also seemed a bit immature at times. and i felt myself liking Trig more than Kissie because he seemed like the only one committed with a bit of common sense whereas Kissie was just all over the place
but if you want to read something fast and fun, you should definitely give this one a try
