I can’t believe I waited ten fucking years for this bullshit. Marissa, I love you, but why the hell did you lie to us like this?

This was not about the wedding at all, nor did we even get there.

Out of FIFTY TWO chapters, you get ONE with their actual wedding except it was two pages and it started when they had already said I do and were about to kiss because she had fainted and woke up from her bizarre dream stories in the middle of it??? The other three measly chapters where she “gets her happy ending” are also AFTER the wedding already took place. What the fuck, Marissa.

Look, this whole thing would’ve been a super fun side thing for you to write at another time, but i wanted a god damn wedding. We got a whole short story about freaking Wolf and Scarlet, but you can’t give us anything about Cinder and Kai? Seriously?! I wanted Thorne to be his amazing, fun, helpful self to get her ready. I wanted the scene of him picking out her tiara!!! I wanted the gang to cry and stand up there with them and Iko to scream with happiness. I wanted the girls to help Cinder get ready and to, you know, SEE KAI’S FACE WHEN HE SAW HER WALKING DOWN THE AISLE?! Or at least hear their vows??? Literally anything but this.

And those two pages of the future with their kids would’ve been a FANTASTIC epilogue to the whole series and I definitely wanted to hear about Kai’s bachelor party but no. I guess we can’t have anything.

There are not enough words to describe how sad and pissed and disappointed I am and I can’t believe we were deprived of…everything.

Sorry for all the yelling y’all. I’m just gonna go cry now.

I’m so disappointed and so sad about this, you have no idea. This series is my absolute favourite and I was so excited and nervous to hear about the wedding and all the characters and my favourite people…yet I got nothing. I understand Marissa perhaps wanted to do something different or upgrade her ideas, which is not a bad thing and this book would have been amazing, but not for this, not for something that you call their wedding and you get everything but that, or the characters or them. I actually thought this was a spin-off about them and all their closures…

not rating this because it’s just a corny short story that makes no sense and would honestly look like fanfiction if it hadn’t been written by the author. i will say that if i had been looking forward to this read or expecting anything satisfying, it would have been soul-crushingly disappointing.

This was fun, interesting and very different. I would have wanted an actual novella featuring Cinder's wedding but this wasn't that bad. I'm not a big fan of these kind of books, it gets confusing for me. But this was fun. It will be interesting to re-read it again and try out different routes. Still I enjoyed it.

I knew this book wasn't going to be IT the minute I found out that it was going to be choose your own ending type of book.

I love The Lunar Chronicles with my entire heart, even though it has been years since I read it and I'm 100% sure I'm going to love it as much whenever I decide to re-read it. But if someone asks me if I consider this book to be a part of that series I would just shake my head. I have nothing against this, it's just that I'd have been fine if this didn't exist.

There were some very cute and heartwarming endings, but this type of multiple choices that the author decided to play with just ruined everything for me.

However, it was also interesting to see Marissa Meyer's other book characters making appearances in this story, but since I haven't read her Renegades trilogy or rather have put it ''on hold'' I was feeling meh about it.

This is a short story(s) about getting Cinder into her wedding, you’d think it’s be easy and that the right choices would be obvious. Think again.
This includes all the characters that Marissa Meyer have written so if you’re planning on reading this you should read her previous work; The Lunar Chronicles (of course), Heartless, Renegades, Instant Karma, and Gilded. There are about 10 possible endings. Of course none of this is canon (thank god) though I hoped we would get a proper CANON wedding story, but I guess I can imagine that well on my own.

I loved the idea of choosing the path for characters and finding my own endings like the show Bandersnatch (though it was stressful) I imagine it took a lot of planning to put ALL of her stories together with multiple possible ending so I recognize the effort. But some of those endings.. now words..

There is an Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland mix into to it as well (and I don’t mean the book Heartless). It was definitely not what I expected.

I have read every possible ending each one more absurd than the last!

Okay the first ending I got I ended up killing CINDER!! How was that even possible?? I picked to follow Iko, then met Cress and Thorne and chose NOT to drink the potion, then I picked the path to Peter Peter because I wanted to see Heartless characters (bad choice now that I think about it). Not only did I just rewitnessed the death of Jest (which was as painful as THE FIRST TIME) I managed to kill Cath, Mad Hatter AND Cinder!!
Why was that a possible ending to getting CINDER to the WEDDING if there was a chance of me KILLING HER OFF!! I mean if she survived LEVANA she should be able to survive ANYTHING! But yeah that’s is why I’m never trusting my own judgment..

Now to the second ending I picked to DRINK the vail because if I already killed Cinder once might as well do it again and of course it shrunk her, but I met Jacin and was happy because yay a voice of reason! WORNG! He was acting so weird.. then I had to pick a stupid door (all sounded awful) so I picked the door ‘Mad’ because I hoped it’d be hilarious, which was I suppose since I ended up in the middle of DnD game with the Instant Karma characters (I don’t even know HOW) so since I know dice is never in my favor I went ahead and took the gem. Apparently that was the best I ever done because I was taken to the wedding AND FINALLY GOT TO WITNESS KAI AND CINDER GETTING MARRIED!! Guess second was the charm.

Of course I was curious what other horrifying ending I could get so I kept going..
At some point it all turned out to be a story that Serilda (from Gilded) is telling to the children.
Another one ended with it being all a dream and she woke up at her shop right before the moment she meets Kai..In another she ends up losing her wedding ring.
And of course I ended up killing Cinder multiple times, basically if you go to Peter Peter’s it’s a death sentence. At some point there was TWO Cinders! And the one I was choosing for in behalf had to watch her doppelgänger get murdered.. and then there was another where she got AMNESIA!!
also there was an ending where Cinder has two kids with Kai. Cath AND Jest are happy and ALIVE!! And they moved to New Beijing! I mean that’s the only non-canon story I’ll take from this book.

Also I want to say that there was some (I think one) choice doesn’t fit (the one where Magpie steals her ring) if you chase magpie and then pick to go peacefully after being captured then you get to the part where you can either escape or plead your case, if you pick escape you’ll find Gild chained and it’ll say that HE stole the ring when it was actually Magpie in that story line.

I love what Marissa did here! Even though I didn't read Renegades yet, this was quite the adventure. So far Ive read this book with 6 different outcomes, and I'm planning to read it until I have all the possibilities possible. But first I need to read Renegades, because this do contain spoilers and I don't want to do that to myself.

I'm almost hesitant to rate this because it was so purposefully nonsensical that trying to rate/review something like this in a logical manner seems ridiculous.

It was fun and super quick, if also not that great at the same time. The whole thing kind of reminded me of a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episode. Specifically if you blended the Discord and Canterlot Wedding episodes. (I have a lot of little siblings, cut me some slack.)

I will say, in my opinion, Kai and Cinder deserved an actual wedding novella but that's just me.

All in all, this was definitely not great but it was also fun so *shrug*.

I wasnt gonna read this at first, but then I was like BRO Cinder and Kai are GETTING MARRIED, I have to read this.

I actually really enjoyed reading this, seeing Cinder interact with the other characters from the authors other books was so cool.
Favorite endings: 8, 9, 26 (and kinda 21)

Chapter 5: cinder wakes up and tells iko that she had a strange dream (basically everything that happened in the books) and then Kai comes to her booth looking for her, like the start of the first book. omg, that would scare me so bad if that happened to me, and imagine the whole series was a dream bruhhh

Chapter 8: Cinder is telling her children peony and rikan (which had me crying btw) a bedtime story of their "wedding". I was crying bro, they're parents now, stoppp

Chapter 9: The actual wedding, the moment we have all been waiting for, and finally cinder said I LOVE YOU TO KAI WHICH SHE DIDNT IN WINTER AND I WAS SO MAD, anyway it was a beautiful moment :)

Chapter 21: Cinder loses her memory and Sketch and Insomnia (from renegades, which is so cool) find her and she joins the renegades, not a favourable ending for me, but cool nonetheless

Chapter 26: Cinder wakes up from a nightmare and is already married to Kai, and they are so cute together.

Chapter 27: Serilda (idk who that is tbh) is telling her 5 kids a story about cinder, which didn't have a happy end. I didnt really understand this one

Chapter 30: Cinder was trapped in the looking glass and climbed out and Iko helped her get ready for the wedding, that's basically it.

Chapter 46: Um, this one was quite dark. Cinder is kidnapped or something by this Peter Peter guy (from heartless) and it literally says "And Cinder and the Mad Hatter were never seen or heard from again.", ummmmm what???

Chapter 49: I dont really get this one and cinder wasnt even there except for a "cyborg slaughtering everyone", I think it has the characters from Merissa Meyer's new book coming out 'with a little luck' and has something to do with D&D, so maybe cinder is a character from the game??? update: I think she was a character in Jude's game in With a Little luck

Chapter 53: Cinder runs away from everything and everyone, I hope thats not what actually happened, because I would be mad.

I loved choose your own adventure books as a kid. To this day I wish I had kept them. My dad was great on getting me books where you were just a kid wandering in a forest and somehow got yanked into a different dimension. I also died every single time. Apparently I made poor choices as a kid. This choose your adventure starring Cinder from the Lunar Chronicles is so cool.

“Cinder’s Adventure: Get Me to the Wedding!” follows Cinder who is about to marry Emperor Kai. But then you are given a choice. You can follow Iko (to a world that will be familiar to readers of “Heartless”) or you can open a knock at the door (which takes you off to a setting that readers may know..I did not).

Be warned that you should probably read all of the Lunar Chronicles books. I also read the graphic novels. But you also should read some of Meyer’s other works such as “Heartless” “Renegades” trilogy, “Instant Karma”, and “Gilded.” I DNFed the first book in Renegades and never read “Gilded” or “Instant Karma” but that did not take away my enjoyment of this book.

I played through 5 times and got to the wedding twice (and loved, loved, loved the sneak peek into the future I got). The other three times had Cinder coming to a different ending (no spoilers). One was quite….violent. LOL. But yes I get that not all stories have a happy ending.

This was a very fun book and I enjoyed it. I still would have been quite happy with a straight happy ending for Cinder and Kai, but it was lovely seeing everyone again.

3.5 - I love the characters, but I just learned that Reader Choose the Story type of books is not for me. I read it through a couple of times in different combinations and then just skimmed each chapter. I do not have any idea how many different combinations are within this, but wow! Lol Fever dreams, series jumping and not enough Kia and Cinder. I can see how this could be fun for some readers though. It was great seeing glimpses of some of the old team(s).

This was a chaotic mess omg. I get that it was more for fun because it was choose your own adventure but I still thought it would ultimately be about Cinder and Kai’s wedding but it focused more on the author’s other books and characters. The first ending I got to was so sad like I cannot imagine the outrage if things actually ended that way. I finally made it to an acceptable ending that actually featured the wedding and left it at that because that’s what I had been looking to get out of this. Cinder and Kai’s moment deserved better.

It's great to be reunited with characters from the Lunar Chronicles and I get to be a guest alongside them at Kai and Cinder's wedding. Be aware though that there will be spoilers from Marissa Meyer's other works too.
Choose-your-own-adventures are not my preferred format. I prefer to read more linearly but I can see why it's attractive to other readers because it can be a completely new story every time you open the book.

2. Um, I don't like any of the choices. Is there a third option? 1, 10... start again
3. Ah, that ol' trope 1, 2, 47, 16, 45, 19, 22, 50, 24, 25, 26
4. Seriously?!? 1, 10, 11, 18, 14, 4, 5

... And I thought this was going to happen, I got bored making the decisions. However, there were several places where I had to proceed to a certain chapter which is not really what choice means.
I may try to get to the wedding again but for now I've had enough. It was not as good as I wanted it to be. I don't know if it was worth paying what I did to get a copy. I think it would have been way better as a straightforward novella.

Είναι μία τέλεια ανάμιξη όλων των βιβλίων της συγγραφέως, με πρωταγωνίστρια όμως τη Cinder. Πρόκειται για κάτι φοβερά αλλοπρόσαλλο, αλλά ευφυές. Φυσικά υπάρχουν διάφορα τέλη κι εγώ θεωρώ ως canon αυτά που με συμφέρουν. Ο μόνος λόγος που αφαιρώ ένα αστεράκι είναι γιατί ήθελα να δω περισσότερο τους άλλους χαρακτήρες.

I’ve enjoyed this! I’ve gotten through about three different paths now, and I intend to read through more later. It’s definitely entertaining, although a lot of it just makes no sense haha (but I mean that in a good way). I will say, though, that I really wish Marissa Meyer had instead done just a canon short story with Cinder and Kai’s wedding, as fun as the whole “choose your own adventure” thing is. It would have been nice to get a proper wedding. All and all, though, it’s definitely fun and worth reading, and you get extra content with characters from her other books, which I definitely am enjoying!

Lo primero: abtenerse de leerlo en audio porque salta entre capítulos y si lo lees seguido, son sólo un montón de cachos inconexos.
Así que lo lees a ojo. Y es incluso peor.
Es un libro interactivo y un royo patatero porque al elegir una determinada opción, como me pasó a mí, terminas el libro en un periquete y es una payasada de historia. Debí elegir la opción más tonta. Al elegir otra trama argumental menos idiota a ver si había más suerte, no encontré el punto donde hice el cambio.
Así que fue un lío tremendo.
Pasé más tiempo perdida entre historias buscando alternativas, que leyendo.
Y luego entras por fin en una trama, vas hasta el final... y es otra tontería.
Vuelta a perderse tres horas entre opciones a ver si tras muchas vueltas y revueltas... otra trama chorras que pretende ser Alicia en el país de las maravillas en pocho. Asombro. Con lo bien que se le dan a esta mujer los retelling!. Pues aquí no.
No sé si leí todas las tramas. Leí varias. Muchas vueltas y revueltas para ir a ninguna parte que merezca la pena. Autores en GL Bis

This book is worth reading for chapter eight alone.

That said, I definitely didn’t love this. It’s unquestionable that the book is a thoroughly fun read and has some fantastic callbacks to numerous characters from Marissa Meyer’s universe of books. I loved that Gilded was included within this, as well.

I think, ultimately, however…given that I’m not the biggest fan of Wonderland and Meyer’s Heartless is one of very few Wonderland stories that I actually enjoyed…reimagine the Lunar characters as part of that world was kind of irritating and certainly resulted in not enough screen time for any of them. Plus, Scarlet was woefully out of character.

But there were certainly a lot of entertaining pathways and I did appreciate how stories were melded in together. Frankly, I think all stories should have led to a chapter eight at some point.

Then again, Meyer was explicitly clear about the fact that this is not to be considered cannon in any way (did we all just buy fanfic? 😂 - would’ve been nice to know this ahead of time so I wasn’t excited about a legitimate story for Cinder and Kai’s wedding). So…my genuine hope is that someday down the road we will get a real story to the wedding as well as a real chapter eight. Cause after all that teasing? I NEED it.

Estoy decepcionada de esta historia era la boda de Cinder y Kai la última reina de Luna y el emperador de China merecían muchísimo más, esperaba una historia como la de la boda de Scarlet y Wolf.
Fue muy corta la parte de la boda y aprecio la originalidad de la historia interactiva pero en mi opinión no valió la pena, me siento robada. 😭
