She left her mark and burned her goodness into my heart. There’s no room left for anyone else, only her.I can’t chase her. I refuse to pull her any deeper into the Diamond MC.When that decision is taken out of my hands and she’s dragged into the darkness, all I see is rage and bloodshed.I’ll make them pay. Every single one of them who thought they could steal her away, take her from me.She’s everything. And once I have her back, I’ll make sure I never let go.She’s light and goodness.Maybe she’s too good for me, but maybe she’s just what I need to balance my world.I’ll give her everything and make her mine. And just maybe she’ll make me hers this book contains violence, offensive language, and very mature topics. Recommended for age 18 years and Book #1 in the Diamond MC series, though these characters have been seen in the mm Polished P &P series, you don't have to read them first to read Country.
Dusty has grown up in life full of privilege but devoid of love. She lives in a luxurious house and wants for nothing but the attention and interest of her self indulged parents. She has done well at school but now she has graduated, she has decided to do something she loves, working with animals part time and dipping into her creative side working in a florist shop. She needs more than that though.
Dusty has been hanging out at the local Diamond MC compound and is now officially a club girl. Not like some of the girls there who will do anything for any of the members. She has a room to stay in and makes herself useful by tending to their gardens and baking up lots of treats. She has endeared herself to a lot of the guys there, as well the friendships she has made with some of the club girls. She wants more though, well rather someone - Country, the MC President.
Dusty has had a crush on Country since she first saw him and is hoping he will one day notice her. When it finally happens, she experiences a night like no other, he is everything she had fantasized about and more. After that one night though, there is no repeat with him and she holds out hope that he will one day invite her back into his bed. Meanwhile she has to deal with a bit of bitchiness from some of the other girls, that’s what happens when you put a bunch of hormonal young women in close living conditions.
Country has noticed some of the other guys showing an interest in Dusty but he manages to temporarily pull their attention away from her. He knows she is too young for him and she deserves someone better but he isn’t ready to see it happen just yet. Until she packs her bags and walks out one day, it gives him a kick up the backside and makes him realize that maybe she is more to him than he cared to admit. Meanwhile, Dusty has got herself into a bit of a tough situation and she is going to have to call on every ounce of strength if she wants to ever see Country again.
If you enjoy read MC stories then this will be right up your alley, gorgeous brooding men, club bitches, a few baddies that cause all sorts of hell and steamy sex to keep you turning the pages.
I can already tell this is going to end up being one of my favorite series from Ms. Rose. I loved Country and Dusty so much and I was rooting for them to end up together from page 1. I adored Dusty and how she had a badass energy under her more meak personality. She didn't need to scream and get in peoples faces with her attitude for it to be very evident that she was tough and I loved that about her. It made it really fun to dig deeper into her character and fall in love with her.
She and Country are definitely a new favorite couple of mine. They had their ups and downs but seeing them struggle together made their connection even stronger. They had the really sweet moments mixed in with the more dramatic ones but every time they were together their chemistry was sparking right off of the page.
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
More often than not, when you have an age-gap of almost 20 years or even more, stories tend to get cringy and ridiculous fast. Occasionally, that doesn’t happen, and it is a fantastic reading experience. Country, the first story in the Diamond MC series, is one of those stories. Words cannot express how much I enjoyed every moment of this journey. From the romance to the dramatics, it was all very well done and just made me happy and excited to be a part of this world for a few hours.
That’s the things about reading, how you feel when you read a story is just as important as themechanics of a well thought out plot. The story of Country and Dusty had me laughing, smiling, a little turned on at times, completely enraptured and a bit anxious at times. All of it was very well blended into a story that not only captured my mind but also my heart. I’m invested in this world now and I can’t wait to read more about the Diamond MC!
I enjoyed reading this Motorcycle Romance story between a The Gang President and a Club Girl. I have read quite a few MC gang books and this one is different. Dusty is the heroine, a 19 year old girl who has been neglected emotionally by her rich parents that she decided to join an MC gang where she felt accepted and valued. In The Diamond MC chapter the President is Country, the charismatic 38 year old who Dusty has been pining and secretly in love with ever since their hook up, but after that day and another encounter, Dusty felt Country was not into her. She felt the unrequited love. In Country's part he was definitely into Dusty but given their age gap and the confusion of feelings of him towards her, he doesn't make a move but man I love how he's Alpha possessive and you'll definitely feel the spicy tension. There are other woman or club girl drama and an incident that made Country fight for her love for Dusty.
Overall this book is enjoyable, especially if you are a fan of an MC Gang story. Lila Rose delivered something different!
Oh boy did she spoil us with this book. Talon lovers eat your heart out cause there's a new alpha in town and he measures up in all the right ways.
Is talon still my fav?.. absofuckinglutely. But he's my OG and I'm a faithful bitch. However County gives him a run for his money for sure.
I loved both characters for different reasons but I was not without frustration in some parts.
Country is a sweet alpha and surprisingly doesn't come across all blunt and me man you mine. Which I really appreciated because I feel like with Dusty being the sweetheart she was.. it would have been to much. Now that's not to say the man doesn't show his guns a time or two because he does and it's everything. But I feel like she softens him in a sweet way that makes him more approachable despite him being the big bad president. He of course does have his moments where I wanted to throttle him for being so goddamn oblivious, but all round I found him to be a strong character with a good sense of who he was and what he wanted without fear of what anyone else thought. I also adored how gentle he is with dusty.... SWOONING.
Dusty is a real gem of a woman. Sweet, gentle and honestly nothing like you'd expect but everything you never knew you needed. She handled the guys with care and looked after everyone around her building her little family without actually realising just how loved she was. She was a little innocent in the right ways and honestly didn't know her worth but it was so endearing to see her blossom through the story. I also just loved how when she snapped she was a little wild cat and it was unexpected and shocked everyone. That and the fact the girl was hilarious when inebriated.
Their journey whilst having its crazy climactic moments for the most part is fairly relaxed in terms of mc life, but I loved that. I feel like we really got to delve into who these characters are individually and truly appreciate them in their glory and then route for them together. It was a sweet tension filled and at times Shockingly unexpected ride. There is so much chemistry between Country and Dusty is hard to believe they didn't just fall into bed and never get out again but I'm glad we got to see them dance around the attraction and we get to laugh at some of the awkwardness that is Dusty in all her sweet glory. Also we get to enjoy the fabulous side characters that I just know many people will be gagging for in future story. They truly brought the story to life with their presence and added so much personality to the pages making this journey all the better for having them in it.
I don't know if you can't tell but I loved this book and especially Dusty. Her as a character is like finding a golden nugget for me. Generally I'm not swooned with the more timid characters but her quiet strength and genuine loyalty to the club for all the right reasons had me falling in love with that sweet woman.
Now.. I'd really love more of Henri and his dramatics and also him and Blaze. I'm also intrigued with Tech.... and Eve....
Who am I kidding... I want them all goddamnit. I'm a hussy.
A great story about the prez of a club, Country, and a young woman named Dusty, who is infatuated with him. This books starts off hot and heavy and then the chaos and drama ensues. Dusty is afraid to tell Country how she feels and waits patiently for 2years for him to notice her. It is a quick read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I had so much fun meeting the members of the Diamond MC and getting to share in Country and Dusty's story
This was a great start to a new series A vivid and diverse cast of characters A sweet but at times tense (minor triggers for some) storyline that had me laughing one moment and gripping my reader in the next
Dusty wants a little bit of excitement in her life and what better way than to become a club girl She's young but she is mature beyond her years and she has her eyes set on Country
Country is the leader of the Diamond MC and almost twice Dusty's age but after spending some time with her he realizes she is what he has been missing
I read this in one sitting The story flowed so easily - dragging me in and keeping me engaged The author crafted a solid foundation without bogging the story down I love the supporting cast and their little quirks - they brought something memorable to the overall tone of the story
Dusty and Country were so perfect for each other. Neither denied their feelings but they also failed to properly share them. Dusty, because of her own innate need to not be a burden, and well she was just a club girl - what did she have to offer? And Country? Because why would a sweet gal like Dusty want to be tied to him? But when the enemy gets their hands on Dusty Country realizes he would raze the world to see her safe in his arms.
We loved this one, especially the characters, they were all awesome. It was a nice change to see these club members respect women and the choices. We really took a shine to Quake and Tech and Henri Dusty's boss was hilarious.
The story was pretty tame compared to most MC romance and I really like that about this one, it was a pleasant charge because it worked for Country and Dusty not to say that the club wasn't full of drama and that there was suspense because there was plenty.
Loved Dusty she was a sweetheart, kind of like a mother to all of them not meaning in a sexual way but, their needs and comforts and all the men loved her and considered her a friend. She reminded me a lot like Stella from the Wounded Souls MC by Leah Sharelle.
Overall, a really loved the story and reminds you life is short and tomorrows are not guaranteed, so take the leap to see what is in front of you before it's too late. Eve you are a bada** loved your fire and Henri you surprised us at every turn, and we loved that about you. And Country, we just loved you period, you were so sweet and kind.
Can't wait to read more of this series as Lila Rose is one of our favorite author's no matter what genre she writes.
I really enjoyed Country by Lila Rose ,this is the Start of a new series and I can't wait to read what's to come . Loved the chemistry between the couple and everything the characters went through I'm excited to read were this goes and I hope to see from then in the future.
Wow! Country took me by surprise and I'm absolutely delighted. I've heard around the community how great Lila Rose's MC series were and you can add me as a fan.
Rose easily captures the family element I always look for when I read a MC romance and the fact she did so when I started the series (which IS book one in a new spinoff series) without having read about any of the other characters says it all.
Country and Dusty are wonderful, engaging characters that made me laugh (and tear up at least once). Their romance is sweet, which was unexpected, but believable considering who they are. I would have loved a little more development of their relationship, but Rose makes it work.
I'm a total MC romance snob and I can safely say this series and overall extended world is one that I'll definitely read more of!
Thank you to Social Butterfly PR and the author for an early copy in exchange for honest feedback.
It's been a while since I read an MC Romance and when I saw the blurb for this book, I couldn't resist. Dusty is a club girl and has hankered after the Club President for a while, and Country is the President of The Diamonds MC. They've spent a few nights together, but Country keeps his distance as he doesn't want Dusty involved in the bad side of the club. Dusty ends up in a dangerous situation and gets in trouble, calling Country for help... Will Country give in to his feelings? Will Dusty admit to herself and to him how she feels?
I loved the plot. It was fast-paced, funny in parts, and i read in less than 24 hours. I look forward to reading more of Lila's books.
Dusty and Country met 2 years ago when she was 19 and he was 38. They essentially got together at that point but neither one of them knew it 😆 Fast forward 2 years later, and right when Country realizes Dusty is his one and only, Dusty comes to the conclusion that she'll never have the man she wants for forever. Then a lot of stuff happens: kidnapping, beating, killing, etc. On top of all that, Country has to convince Dusty that he's her man for real and for good.
This is the first book in a spin-off series from the Polished P&P Series by the same author. The book is a standalone and you don’t need to have read the previous series to understand it, but it will enhance your enjoyment if you are more familiar with the characters.
Dusty became a club girl at aged 19. She didn’t have any great problems with her life to escape from, just neglect and loneliness. Working part-time as a florist and part-time as a cleaner, she saving hard to get her own place, whilst living rent free at the compound of the Diamond MC. After being with the club for two years she’s still only slept with one guy, the president, Country. To make up for not sleeping with anyone else she cooks, cleans and looks after laundry and the gardens. She works hard and is popular with the brothers who see her as almost like a little sister.
Country is now 40 and been the president for 10 years. He met Dusty on her first night at the club when they slept together for the first time. He really liked her but thought she was a bit young and had a lot going on with the club at the time. He’s good looking, charming and firmly in control of his club. He’s accepted the gay members of the club and welcomed their partners. He even kicked out one of the brothers who was a bigot, putting his money where his mouth is with his support.
When Dusty gets into trouble, she doesn’t understand how important she is to the club, and Country in particular, but she’ll soon find out.
I love this author. She writes fun, sexy and sweet stories about strong men and women who love with their whole hearts. This new series is no different from her previous books, because she has great characters, interesting storylines and sweet combined with sexy. I will say that this book is less focused on the heat aspect than some of her other books. This book is much more focused on the plot and the characters.
I really liked both Dusty and Country. Both are at the heart of the club for different reasons. Dusty is sweet but has a core of steel running through her. Her home life wasn’t physically abusive but being ignored by your parents for most your life is definitely abusive. She still managed to stay sweet and kind and brave. Country is focused on his club and his brothers to the detriment of seeking his own happiness. He’s a bit of an idiot at the start, but he’s not malicious. He’s very decisive and wants his brothers and their families to be happy and acts always to make sure that happens.
As always, Lila Rose writes great supporting characters and I’m looking forward to getting to know more about them in the future as the series continues. The plot was interesting and it looks like there will be a continuing storyline in future books, which again, I’m looking forward to seeing.
I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next in the series.
▪️Age gap 19-38 ▪️MC romance ▪️kidnapping ▪️funny banter ▪️alpha males
I enjoyed this book! Lila Rose is a semi new to me author. I am picky with my MC books. I actually have to go back and read her Polished P&P series because hello sexy MM novels! Plus there’s a Russian in the mix? Sign me up!
Overall I enjoyed this book. I read it in one sitting. I liked the connection of the club as whole. I liked the family dynamic they created for each other. I love their back and forth banter! Will def check out the rest of the series!
Dusty grew up with emotionally detached parents, from the age of seven she was self-sufficient. She’s becomes a club girl and suffers unrequited love for ‘Country’ the President of the MC.
He is seen with many other women, Rochelle, Isla, Trissa, Davina, and that’s only the few referenced, but we’re supposed to believe because they weren’t having ‘intercourse’ or as Country describes “I hadn’t been inside any of them” that it absolves him of being a cad.
“It gutted me that Dusty had seen the women hanging off me and that I didn’t put a stop to it when I should have. Made me damn sick to the stomach knowing she’d watched b*tches with their hands on me when all I’d been wanting was her. But I’d been a f-g moron and touched those women back. I wanted to shoot myself in the eye and bleach my hands and body. Thank f@#$ I could go to her and tell her I hadn’t been inside any of them—not since the last time we’d been together. The thought of slipping into anyone but her brought bile to my throat”. How utterly noble.
I love Lila Rose’s ‘Fumbled Love’ and to a lesser extent ‘Holding Out’. In Fumbled Love, we meet Courtney (Carter’s sister from Fumbled Love) and her MC husband, State. They were sufficiently intriguing that I read Country, instant regret. Country and Dusty couldn’t keep me engaged. Eve with her penchant for violence, is possibly the most interesting character.
Everyone who reviewed this were talking about how Dusty had so much strength so in my naive state, I read this thinking I’d find a heroine with a backbone.
What did I find?
The weakest woman Lila rose has ever written. She made me fucking sick. I’m sorry but everyone talks about how an old lady of an mc president should be able to hold her own… dusty couldn’t even save herself. Every other heroine in the Lila rose universe had something to say. If she couldn’t physically save herself, she was verbally giving it back to her captors. Dusty just fucking cried, cried and cried some more. I hated this. Hopefully she can meet Nary or even Deanna so they can give her a run down on how not to be pathetic.
Omg I hope one of the guys date Henri he’s fucking hilarious. I can’t with him I swear. Im definitely curious about him and Blake and wants to learn their story.
Also I’m excited to learn that Death going to get his own story. I’ve been wanting him to have his own story since Polished P & P series.
Plus reading the acknowledgment and also learning Torch and Tech also getting a book along with Quake also got me excited. Im thinking Eve and Quake will have one. But I’m hoping one of the other guys end up with the Stacie girl. But in my mind I think one of these guys or two going to be gay or bisexual.
But what do I know, anyways I enjoyed this book. I’ve been curious about Country since reading the Making Changes book. But I don’t think it was that series. I believe it was of the Polished P & P series.
I wanted to know he’s and Dusty story. I felt so bad for her and was hoping like crazy that she didn’t end up raped by them horrible men. Plus Duke I knew he was going to get some type of revenge smh. Since the book with Wreck and Lucas and Wreck coming out as gay and dating a man.
I was glad he got but would love to learn what Blake did to him and Davina because she was a jealous “B” for no reason to Dusty. When Dusty didn’t do anything to her. I was glad when they got dealt with. I also want to learn Torch story he seems so interesting to me he seem kinda crazy it excites me 😂 for some reason….
But other than all that; I was glad when or learn that Dusty dad came around and wanted to be in her life more. You could tell he cared about her especially when reading the Polished series. I see that Jennie is who is the grandmother to Dusty and Country kids I believe. Since stick in the butt was a horrible human being. I think she is who made Dusty father that way until they broken up.
a cute, cheesy book. never thought i would use cute to describe a mc romance but here we are lol. it’s more heart swooning that gritty which i don’t mind atm. 3.5 stars
Country and Dusty had so much going against them but Dusty knows what she wants but Country knows he’s not good for her on so many different levels other then a night or two but when Dusty is taken Country will burn down anything in his way to get to her!
Oh man I loved Country! He is the type of man that women dream about. Yes, he had his issues accepting his feelings towards Dusty but in the end, he was perfect. I love that dusty was shy and quirky. It made her who she is and she was a very loveable character. The plot was also fun. I loved seeing all the guys from P&P, and also getting to see other MC characters who will get books in the future. This MC isn’t as gritty as some that I’ve read but you can tell that they ride on the other side of the law. The author did an amazing job with these characters and drawing me in. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Dusty came from a wealthy family, but she was never really taken care of since her parents were pretty much gone all the time. She had to grow up too soon, and yet, she was still a bit naive. She ended up becoming a club girl for the Diamond MC, but she only had eyes for one man, Country, the President. They hooked up, but then he was done so she pined for him for a long time, and since this MC didn't make the girls do anything they didn't want to, she never was with any other brother, instead made herself valuable in other ways. I loved this girl, although I would have loved it if she hadn't suffered so long for Country because it made her a target for some of the drama queen club girls. She ends up leaving which is when Country finally notices what he was missing but will he be in time to make her his?! I'm super excited for this new MC series as I've already fallen in love with some of the bikers, and Dusty's boss, Henri, was awesome & had me laughing quite a bit. Anyway, I think I've said enough so now it's your turn since I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
As someone who proudly devours literary trash, I thought I’d found my next guilty pleasure. Tik Tok recommended it....I should have known.
The writing is painfully juvenile and the characters are paper-thin. I don’t mind an age gap, but I’d prefer the heroine to be old enough to rent a car. And then there’s the character lineup. It felt like everyone except Dusty & Country was gay—not in a natural, “this is the world we live in” kind of way, but more like the author was desperately trying to check boxes and make a statement. Instead of feeling inclusive, it came off like a weird social experiment with no depth or nuance.
If you like your romances messy, unrealistic, and written with the subtlety of a sledgehammer, this one’s calling your name.
I first became enraptured with Lila Rose’s writing after reading HEAR ME OUT, which totally blew me away. So, when I discovered she was penning an age gap MC romance, book one in her brand-new Diamond MC series, my heart leapt with joy! And holy moly did she set the ball high with this delicious gem!
PREMISE: This is a story of a spirited young woman named Dusty Reyes who may have grown up privileged but she’s starved for love. Then opportunity strikes and she becomes a biker club girl to bring some much-needed excitement to her life. From the moment she encounters the Diamond MC Prez, Country, at the club bar, she’s instantly smitten. The tatted gentle giant is everything she’d ever yearned for in a man—strong and alpha, fiercely protective and sexy as sin! Sparks immediately fly between them and while he knows she’s far too young for him, they succumb to a night of unbridled passion that electrifies them both! However, in the aftermath, she assumes that he just sees her as a club girl and she knows her place in his life. She can’t help but feel crushed but loves being among the Diamond MC and finds a sense of belonging and safety she never dreamed possible. And does not want to wear out her welcome so she vows to keep her infatuation for County secret.
However, two years later, the feelings between them can no longer be denied, and despite their best efforts, they keep gravitating towards one another. Country knows that this beautiful angel is too good for him but he’s never forgotten their nights of stolen passion and desperately wants to claim her as his. But when a spat with some spiteful club gals drives her away from the Devils MC, and she falls into enemy hands, hell hath no fury like this furious MC Prez who will go to the ends of the earth to exact bloody retribution. And bring his woman home back where she belongs. Can their love survive the storm of chaos that threatens to engulf them both?
MY MUSINGS: Oh be still my frantically beating heart! COUNTRY exceeded my expectations and then some. Age gap romances are my kryptonite and when it’s set in the dark and gritty MC world, it’s a double whammy of awesomeness! Lila Rose really set the stage beautifully with this launch book in the Diamond MC series! It has high stakes drama. Steamy sexcapades. Action. Danger. And a plethora of feels!
This gifted author possesses a unique storytelling prowess and she has quickly become one of my faves of this genre. So, not surprisingly, the romance that she crafted between County and Dusty was absolutely spellbinding. There chemistry is so blazing hot you can feel the crackle and pop between them yet underneath the sizzling physical attraction is a sweet, smoldering, soul deep love that makes you absolutely euphoric! I couldn’t get enough of their torrid yet achingly tender love story and was consumed from start to finish by these two! They may come from completely different worlds and fear deep down that they don’t have anything of true value to offer each other, but in all the ways that matter, these two are made for each other. Not to say they are perfect. Far from it. They have a bit of a difficult time communicating their hearts desire at times which caused all kinds of upheaval but it's the emotional tug of war that makes their union so dang captivating. And there was never a doubt in my mind that they are the yin to each other’s yang. The other half of one another’s souls!
As far as the characterizations go…Ms. Rose truly crafted Dusty and Country with tender loving care! As the leader of the Diamond MC, Maverick “Country” Evans oozes potent animal magnetism! He is big and burly, gorgeously tatted and fiercely loyal, and I went completely gaga over this rough around the edges hero! But swoonworthyness aside, he’s not a man to be crossed and when one of his own are threatened…eek...he shows no mercy! But while the brutal wrath he unleashes on his foes is justifiable, Prez also has a big marshmallow heart. Especially for one particular raven-haired female with a salty tongue and an aura of sweetness he cannot resist!
Speaking of Dusty, wow what an adorable spitfire! Equal parts sweet and sassy, I found her utterly endearing, and on top of that, this refreshingly unique club girl is also a woman of many talents! She adores working with animals and her part time work at a florist shop taps into her creative side. And while she might be small in stature…when she loves she loves mightily! She quickly ingratiates herself to most everyone at the Diamond MC (except for a few catty women who are green with envy toward the way she has been welcomed so fully by all the biker club members) but most everyone knows she’s a true and trusted friends who can be counted on through thick and thin. And she truly is the only club gal who has the ability to turn the Prez into a lovesick fool!
In addition to penning a wildly addictive love story, Ms. Rose effortlessly sweeps readers the MC world and her colorful motley crew of club members is second to none! Each one of them had a distinct personality and they added such rich, robust flavor and a wealth of entertainment to the plot and were a memorable contribution to the overarching storyline.
As expected in a MC tale, there is some explicit sex as well as raunchy banter and some violent showdowns with hell raising foes. Which means there are potentially some triggers for some sensitive folks—so proceed with caution if some of the grittier elements make you uncomfortable. But if you are dark romance aficionado, like me, you will be passively enthralled! As for the climax, it’s adrenaline pumping, nail biting exquisiteness and it definitely kept me riveting . And it goes without saying that it paved the way for a glorious, goosebump inducing HEA which made me positively giddy!
BOTTOM LINE: COUNTRY is an incredible start to the DIAMOND MC series. It’s a quick, pulse pounding read that I devoured in one sitting and now I cannot wait for the next heart gripping installment!
I actually really enjoyed this one because the premise is definitely different than other MC romances I’ve read lately!
Dusty is a club girl and after one night with Country, the club Prez, she’s in love. But Country isn’t exactly on the same page, much to Dusty’s broken heart. After two years of pining, Dusty is finally ready to move on. But Country isn’t about to let a good thing go now that his eyes have been opened.
I liked this and enjoyed it, but I wish there’d been a little more backstory? Fleshing out? I’m not really sure, but it felt like I was kind of thrown in the middle of the plot and expected to feel the connection when I didn’t really see much of it. I did love that once Country was ready to go for his girl, he didn’t waste time. He was all in.
I just wanted a little bit more from this one. I am excited to read the rest of the series! State and Courtney have a novella coming in June that I can’t wait to read!
As an avid reader of pure trash, this one hits the nail on the head. The juvenile writing style makes for poorly written, cringey characters. This is one of those books you can't help but actually put down because you need to take a breather from how bad and unrealistic it is at times.
