*4 stars for the plot
*3.6 for enjoyment
This book could have gone in so many different ways. I don't want to spoil anything. Grace was brave. I would have definitely been very scared if I were her.
I loved the plot twist in Chapter 4 where almost everything gets revealed. My only problem with this book was that there were just a few too many sex scenes, especially in the beginning, that I kept on being so happy when there were little snippets of conversation. It was like grasping at straws a little bit. I can't believe I'm saying that because in most books I want more sex scenes. I guess it's hard to strike the balance to get it just right.
The plot was so unique (though it did remind me a bit of the Hunger Games, minus all the other participants) and the worldbuilding was good too that I don't want to give this just 3 stars. Any other book would have just gotten 3 stars though...
I got this book free on Amazon, but I do want to read the sisters' books one day. Also, this is a novella, but it never felt too short.

I LOVED THIS!
Oh my god! I have read some monster/paranormal type stuff and this has to be one of my favorites! Their love story and the spice was so good. Every second of the story was entertaining.
It was a typical “war” between monsters and humans and the humans didn’t know the true story, but that didn’t stop this author from adding some bits and bobs on it!
Jumping on to book 2!!!

Grace is a woman who lives her life for her sisters. They are her everything, she makes sure they are safe. However, every year there is a draft for females to be sacrificed to the monster that is said to lurk beneath, in the ground. In the last few years, Grace has watched on t.v when other women have been drafted. This year her name is picked. It is said to be an honor to keep her people safe. But she doesn’t care, she only cares that her sisters are safe.
When the authorities come to get Grace to prepare her for the sacrifice she is given, she could only dream of eating, pampering and dressing in a way she could never afford. It doesn’t matter. It’s her last day of living, soon she will be lowered into the ground to be eaten by the monster.
Once she is lowered a hundred of feet below the surface. Grace is welcomed by a dark deep voice, becking her to come closer and kneel.

This book is steamy, steamy, steamy. I enjoyed it and it was different and unique for me. Definitely a book to read if you like mixed species, hot smash time and a good story plot!

I’m yet again going out of my comfort zone with this read. I have say I was reluctant to read this one. Monster romances aren’t usually my go to. This author changed my mind completely. The second book is already downloaded onto my kindle as I write this review.
Grace just trying to get through each day while taking care of her sisters. Her name was picked out from thousands of people to be this years sacrifice. As she prepares for the worse. She discovers what she thought about the world below was nothing more than a scary story told to the humans so they fear the unknown.
This book gave me major Beauty and the Beast vibes and I’m here for it. Monster made me second guess my book boyfriends. The Monster who you aren’t normally suppose to love. You end up rooting for till the end. Don’t even get me started on those spicy scenes they were hot!
They say fear the unknown but what if the unknown can offer you the one thing you’ve been wanting your whole life. Only when you read it. You can enter a world that you never knew existed. Happy reading!

January 13, 2023Well, this certainly was not my cup of tea. I think I may go back to it later but the fact that the H pretty much rapes her on their encounter, doesn’t sit too well with me.
Perhaps there’s an explanation later on but the book is short so maybe it’s just the way the story is. Either way, I kind of like my romance with a little more substance.

When Grace was drafted to be Sacrificed to the Monster, she had no idea what to expect. With all the rumors amongst her people she had to go on, she soon found out they were far from the truth! Follow Grace’s journey as she is Sacrificed to Olex, the monster who lives below ground.
Ava Mona did amazing job telling this story and I can not wait to read Keri’s story in the next book! The spicy was on point!!!!

An intriguing romance that completely blew my mind with its plot.
I wasn't expecting the story that literally seemed to punch me in the chest.
Grace is chosen this year as the sacrifice that which ensure the monsters don't rise.
She is afraid her sisters will suffer at their father's hand but would rather be in this position than them.
Upon meeting this horned monster and understanding her life will now end, she gives into her feelings of lust.
I loved this story which created such a feeling of warmth inside me.
I don't want to give spoilers but I can guarantee any lover of romance absolutely must devour this book.
I was speechless when it came to the ending which hopefully means there will be at least one more to come.
I will be keeping my eyes on this author as I can't believe the talent which flowed into the pages.

I loved this story! There is more than great writing going on here. A woman sacrifice? But beyond that, love. The characters were all FANTASTIC! And the sexy times? WOW. So much depth and family, getting to know you moments. And family plays a huge, happy part here.
She wanted to be the one to continue to protect her sisters. She was the sacrifice this time around. But all was not what it seemed and she found herself in a whole other way of life soon enough -one filled with happiness.

Everything that Grace has been told about the draft has been a lie but she doesn't know that. When her name is picked for the draft her first concern is wanting her sisters to be safe. She is scared of what is to come of her but at the same time she is turned on. She is so scared about what might happen to her and fights with herself about everything she is feeling. Olex is extremely patient with her and knows how he feels about her. I enjoyed how these two came together and was able to work things out. I can't wait for the next book in this series. If you enjoy romance with some steamy parts you should read this book.

Fantastic ~ I had gotten a sample of this story from book funnel… was not happy to have to wait to read the rest and best part of it. But, wait I did, and this story was so worth it. I enjoyed how the story evolved, and all the little things that turned it into one heck of a romance. I loved the part near the end when payback was delivered. I really enjoyed this reading this story! Is there going to be more books? To turn this into possibly a series?? That would be fantastic!!!

Every year another woman is picked to be the sacrifice to keep the town safe. So this year it is Grace's name on the screen. When I read the blurb I knew this book was for me, it is a shorter book but it does not lack in content. The truth comes out about many things like it always does. The characters are perfect and the premise of the book is imaginative. I really enjoyed this story, short and all. Great book and glad I read it. Is the monster all he seems to be?. This is my first book by Ava Mona and I loved it. It is a very quick read especially considering I couldn't put it down. I downloaded book 2 in the series right away and can't wait to read it.
In this first book we read about Grace and her monster Olex. Grace believes she is chosen to be sacrificed when the yearly draft happens. She believes she is walking to her death by being eaten, but that is definitely not what happens.
This was absolutely sexy, hot and had a very good story line to it. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

This book better the I thought it would be. There are a lot of mature scenes throughout this book. Grace was sacrificed to a monster but soon realizes not all is what it seems. Starting with a Hunger Games vibe, this story becomes its own, with human sacrifices and monsters living underground. I loved all the ritual associated with the sacrifice; the horror of being selected, the 30 days in the cavern, the pseudo-courtship. This world is unique and original, which really increased by enjoyment of Grace and Olex’s story.

Loved it!
I have to admit I was expecting the same old monster erotica but then I was pulled into the story and didn't stop ready until I was at the end! I hope there are sequels to follow Linc and Kayo storylines! Keep 'em coming!

I was completely fascinated by the premise of this book and knew I had to pick it up. What an excellent story! Great world building and wonderful characters. Grace thinks her life is over when she is chosen to be sacrificed to the monster residing deep beneath the Earth. It is presented as an honor, but she's horrified. To save her sisters, she goes through with it. But what she is sent into isn't what she believed it would be. Loved it. 5 stars.

Amazingly hot monster love story! I really loved this monster romance. The storyline was just so unexpected. Grace believes what she's heard from the human leaders about the sacrificial draft. She'll go to the monster and discover so much more than fear. There is plenty of hot and steamy action between Grace and the monster, but even though she loves the pleasure he brings her, she's terrified that every moment may be her last. Their HEA is only a decision away if Grace can only let go of everything. I am so looking forward to future stories in the series.

loved it!
Short. Romantic. But also very smutty. Loved this story from beginning to end. I also liked that it was shorter because I didn’t get bored and it kept my attention.

Really enjoyed this quick story!! Sweet, fast paced, never left me bored. Really excited go see where this story goes, I feel like the world has so much potential to expand upon!

This damn book ruined me! But not really, it’s an amazing story, tons of spice, and a great world built quickly and beautifully that pulls you in from page one! It felt to me like The Hunger Games meets Beauty and the Beast - but freaking better! It’s unique and fun and a rollercoaster of a story! Very quick read that leaves you begging for the next one!
