The Mountain has always been my safe place, until it wasn't.
It was the place I went to escape from my mundane 9-5 desk job. My secret spot that allowed me to finally take a deep breath and clear my head.
It's where I escaped the darkness that always follows me.
I never thought it would all come crashing down around me.
Trapped with nowhere to go, I am forced to depend on the one man I promised myself I would never even speak to again, none-the-less depend on.
**In too Deep is a novella with enemies to lovers, forced proximity, CEO/boss, age gap, and daddy kink tropes. This book has a HEA. It is recommended for 18+ due to language, sexual situations with explicit detail, and violence. If you like spice this book is for you. Happy reading.**
E.R. Hendricks Is originally from Connecticut but now lives in Missouri with her husband and kids. She is a hot mess mom, to five kids and two fur babies. If she isn't reading books, she’s writing them. Her hobbies include reading, writing, and COFFEE. She is new-ish to writing but truly loves it. She writes spicy romance and is even venturing into Horror. The tropes vary depending on her mood. She writes anything from fantasy/paranormal to contemporary, dark romance, and even horror. The only limit is her twisted imagination. With a soft spot for psychotic men and strong, badass MFCs, you won't find any meek, frail women in her books. She hopes you enjoy her books as much as she enjoys writing them.
I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book is sitting between a 2.5 and 3 for me. It was a fast, wild, and sexy book. So if you are looking for something entertaining and quick I do recommend it. But I did have a few issues with it, that I personally didn't enjoy but another reader just might!
This being a novella I knew I was gonna get a fast paced story. Which I am completely fine with. But I feel like we wasted so much time on SO many details that there wasn't enough time for the actual plot and characters. I love details. I'm a stickler for them. But this book detailed every single thing these characters did in a scene and left little room for much else.
Another issue I have is the dialogue. The dialogue felt very juvenile a lot of the times when grown people were talking.
Lastly and this one is bigger for me then it probably will be others. This bordered on DD/LG for me. Which I do not read. I'm fine with a daddy kink. But the way the MMC described and responded to the FMC felt so off. He described her in ways you would a child some of the time. And that is not something I prefer to read. His genitals were also compared to a babies arm(size). Which I felt was super inappropriate.
I didn't hate this book by any means. It was an enjoyable read and was quick. But the few things I did mention were hard for me to look past as a reader. I love romantic suspense. It's my favorite sub-genre of romance. But I needed a little more character development and plot development from this story.
I absolutely loved reading this book. I did receive this book as an ARC for my honest review.
The main thing I loved about the book is that the main female character is part of STEM. She's a computer program/hacker. I love reading books where the female lead is in a male-driven field and owns it. This book starts out as a simple office romance and quickly takes some unexpected plot turns. This book has a dual point of view and we get to see the story unfold from both of our main characters' points of view.
Wow this was my second book by this author and I absolutely loved it. It was so so good. I read it in one sitting because I needed to know what was happening.
Aleice was at a bar and she met this very handsome silver fox named Shaw. They really hit it off at the bar while they were having drinks and talking. They ended up going home together and sleeping together.
What they both don't realize is they start catching feelings right away but also are trying to keep one another out of their heads. What happens when something happens at work to cause Shaw to fire Aleice?
Aleice is going to safe place which is the mountains and while driving something happens and she crashes and ends up in a ditch. Shaw is driving to go to his cabin and sees a car in the ditch. What happens when he realizes who he just saved from the car!?
What happens when Aleice and Shaw are trapped in his cabin because there is a huge snow storm.
I got to have the great opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book. I loved this book! You know when they say if you hate the character then the actor did their job, well this author did such a good job i wanted to punch a few characters for their stupidity and hard headedness in the book! They were so well written and the way they complimented each other was great. I did not expect the twist/suspense within the book and was absolutely admired the finesse. The romance/spicy scenes were not only hot but they were so cute. I definitely recommend this book!
Enemies to Lovers/ Forced Proximity/ CEO/ Boss/ Age-Gap/ Daddy Kink
Check your trigger warnings
Aleice meets Shaw at a bar not knowing that he's actually the CEO of the company she works for, they hit it off with great chemistry between them. This is a novella so it's a fast burn and their was enough plot to keep you wanting more. I personally am not one for the daddy kink but with the way the spice was written it did do it for me. I loved the story and would recommend this book and can't wait for the next book.
I love reading new authors and who doesn't love a good short read?! Overall I really liked this book, I can tell that this is a newer author but the story and plot are all there. It does feel a bit rushed at times however, I have no doubt that future books will only get even better. If you like age Gap, forced proximity and one night stand turned relationship, give this one a read!
Genuine trash. It could be a steamy office romance with daddy vibes, instead the unhinged b plot goes completely off the rails and ends with a pregnancy. Terrible. I had a free epub copy and I deleted it, that's how bad this was. Writing left a lot to be desired as well, lots of big words misused and really obvious plot holes and jumps. Plus, again, completely unhinged kidnapping b plot.

This book is well written, and a quick read. I enjoyed this quick read from beginning to the end. The plot was a little predictable, but I enjoyed it still. For a new author I was surprised at how little mistakes there were in the book. If you want a quick read with some good spice I definitely recommend this book.
From the very start to the very end you have sparke! Loved every moment reading this book it was unbelievably the best book I have read! Definitely my favorite! Will need a physical copy ASAP! And Definitely recommend! #DaddyShaw #BabygirlAlly
Aleice and Shaw are 🔥🔥 this book kept me on the edge the whole time. Mind your triggers. Dual POV Daddy Kink Age Gap Stalker 4/5🌶 5/5🌟 Kindle Unlimited
ARC review however I’ve gladly reread this book as a palette cleanser 3 times.
Holy hell! E.R. Hendricks gave us the perfect balance of internal dialogue, suspense, drama and sexy time. Loved the chemistry between Aleice and Shaw, the give and take was perfect.
Hmm..what I look about this book? Everything!! Most books I read do not begin as hot as this one. I could feel the sexual tension with Shaw and Aleice from Chapter 1. Yes there were parts in the story that I wanted to slap Shaw in the face for being mean but he came through in the end. Don't hesistate..get this book today and share with everyone you know!!

Sweet but tense forced proximity story. Oops one night stand turns out to be your boss? 🫢 and you get snowed in at his cabin? 🤭 hot and steamy with added drama. Good little pallet cleanser
Well, I have to say this was a quick and promising read. I just wish it were 100 pages longer. Really good drama that wasn't a quick fix it went on for days. That was nice considering how short this book was. Good chemistry and character development.
Such a fantastic book. Had all of my favorite things. Age gap, suspense, intelligent FMC, and all the spice. Book is so well written. Can’t wait for another book by this author.
This book had some HOT scenes that I absolutely loved. I love a smart capable woman and that's exactly what we got with Aleice. This was a short novella but the plot is definitely still there. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to other works by this author!
This novella was "good" save all the typographical errors....it drove me a bit crazy with all the spelling errors throughout the book.....very quick read though!
