I really enjoyed this short! I had no idea it was a prequel to Ghost House before reading it, but it does stand alone. Now I want to reread Ghost House.

Monsters are not always what they seem and Danil isn't really the monster in this story. It took Piotr to help him see past his curse and find his way. *sniff* It was lovely.

PS - isn't that a gorgeous cover?

Piotr is lost in the winter woods. About to give up he comes across a an empty cabin. He awakens to a beast in the room. Danel has been cursed by his lover. His beast form keeps him isolated and living in the woods alone.

Very sweet take on Beauty and the Beast. Very short so not a lot of world building. I felt that there was enough that I got the feel for the characters though. It was a nice story.

It’s a prequel to another of the authors books, “Ghost House”.

Great Short Story.

This is a great little short story. It is like a cross between Beauty and the Beast and Goldilocks in a way only the the heroine is a young male not female. It also had a nice moral behind it, ie be true to yourself. I now want to read the story it’s a prequel to and I’m not usually into fairytale adaptation. Definitely a good apetisser;

While this is a prequel, this makes a good standalone novella. I’m looking forward to learning more about the other exes from Ghost House. The characters in this novella were more vibrant than the whispers from book 1. The story a simple, solidified, satisfying m/m fairy tale romance.
