This sweet little book is a combination of colour history, science, psychology, cultural associations and ritual practice ideas.

It urges you to play with colour, and also to think about what certain colours mean to you and why, so that you can use colour purposefully to enhance your life.

The author makes it very clear up front that her discussion of rainbow magic combines many beliefs and ideas, presented in such a way that readers should take inspiration and apply the suggestions within in a way that works for you.

I really enjoyed reading the chapters about each colour, and was fascinated to learn about the associations of colours that I have embraced or resisted over the years.

For example, when my mental state was at its lowest, I truly hated the colour orange. But as my confidence increased, I wore more orange and to this day have favourite orange pieces in my wardrobe. Did it's high energy originally jangle my anxiety? Did I eventually lean into it because I felt stronger? Or did my willingness to stretch my comfort zone and try a strong positive colour help make me feel more powerful?

I think this book would be a great gift for someone who likes colour, or who is interested in experimenting with personal rituals. It makes a great addition to my library of books on spirituality and wiccan / pagan practice.
