I love the TCC stories! This was no exception. We learn more about golden boy Vic Grandin. He if you remember is the one going to run the ranch be a use he is the only boy when it is his sister that should!

While out one night he sees the ex he never got over. They talk and agree to one night no strings. The next day though Aubrey is hurt and all she wants is Vic. All she remembers is the night before, not the ten years they have been apart.

Can spending time together bring them back together or tear them further apart when her memories come back?

This book was wonderfully written. It tugged at my heart strings.

We learn more about the ongoing mystery of is there oil on their and the Lattimore land?

An Ex to Remember by Jessica Lemmon is book #6 in the Harlequin continuity series, Texas Cattleman's Club: Ranchers and Rivals. Aubrey's and Vic's relationship blew up ten years ago. That was then. This is now and Vic manages to talk Aubrey into spending one night with him. One and done. When Aubrey sustains a head injury which results in partial amnesia she think she and Vic are still a couple. This storyline as Aubrey and Vic have ups and downs was quite entertaining. I really like Aubrey and Vic as a couple. I also like the other characters and it was fun getting reacquainted with the ones I met in previous books in the series. The underlying problem in this continuity gets moved along well here. This was a very entertaining read.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

This was a very enjoyable book. I couldn’t wait to get home from work each day and get back to the story. Vic and Aubrey dated in high school and were even engaged. After reconnecting over drinks and a cannoli at the Silver Saddle, they were both agreeable to go their separate ways. Unfortunately Aubrey suffers a head injury the next day and suffers from amnesia. She doesn’t remember a time that they weren’t together and when Vic decides to tell her the truth about their past, can she ever forgive him or her parents and friends for allowing her to believe in the happiness she thought she had?

Aubrey Collins and Victor "Vic" Grandin III were a couple as teens and in their early twenties they had a bad breakup due to their different visions of life. Ten years later, a chat in a bar lead them to bed again. Fate decides to take a shot and the next day, Aubrey has an accident at the TCC's Pool Party (we read about it on book 4 of the series) that ends with her having amnesia. She doesn't remember her breakup with Vic nor the ten years they were separated. Aubrey thinks she and Vic are still together!!

By doctor's orders, Vic agrees to help Aubrey with her recovery by pretending to be her boyfriend again. He knows this could end worse than the first time they were together, but also sees it as his second chance with Aubrey. But Aubrey's amnesia wouldn't last forever, right? What will happen when her memories come back?

I have to be honest: I started reading this book disliking Vic with ALL my heart. First impressions do count, and mine's regarding Vic when I read about him in book 3 (book 1 doesn't count actually because his character there wasn't enough relevant to pay him the attention he deserved if we compare him with the Vic we see in book 3) wasn't a good one at all. Nevertheless, as I read this book, I found interesting how things can be different by seeing the whole picture; Vic's perspective changed all. Yes, he was an arrogant idiot at one moment in his life but Vic's evolution—from the man he was as a teen and at twenty-one until present day in the story—reveals himself as someone who can learn from his past mistakes.

That said, Vic needed someone to turn him upside down—damn, he still needed a good scolding!—and Aubrey is the perfect heroine to do it. She's a strong, determined woman, with firm ideas that is not going to be intimidated by anyone. Especially not by a man with outdated ideas (yup, that was Vic at 21...)! She set her goals and she achieved them; nothing would make think her otherwise.

Their breakup left them heartbroken but both were stubborn enough to be separated for ten years. Even with the hard feelings towards each other during those years, their love for each other was still there and it's palpable. I found Aubrey and Vic's romance pretty hot with lots of chemistry. At the same time, they bring out the best of each other.

The Texas Cattleman's Club: Ranchers and Rivals series wouldn't be complete without the topic that links all the books together: The Thurston family claiming the oil rights in the Grandins and the Lattimores properties. Unlike other books, this one have less details but we can see a significant progress regarding the situation between the three families. Also, we know new characters that will add more to that specific topic. Also, there're Aubrey's parents and the Grandin siblings. On that last note, I liked how Vic's ideas and visions towards the Grandin ranch evolve while he realizes the family is better as an united front than being by their own. And the family dynamics gets better together.

When I met Vic I wished for a story with a great heroine who would make him suffer. And this is a perfect one. Not only that, Vic gets the redemption he craves and deserves, making him a better man. This is a well written story with an attractive argument, mature situations and the way hero and heroine interact to each other is fully credible. As for the series itself, this book keeps you intrigued about the legal claim. Looking forward the next book so far.

Despite a slightly twisted premise, I was ridiculously charmed. Vic was extra swoony and Aubrey was inspirational in a way.

So Aubrey and Vic broke up ten years ago, and they hadn’t known love since then–though they both dated some. They basically fooled themselves into believing they were over each other and didn’t need a relationship. They had other ambitions, the exact same ones that led to the break up: Vic is supposed to heritate the family ranch as the only son, and Aubrey studied hard to become a teacher.

Ten years is a long time and they both changed a lot–though I felt they mostly changed during the weeks they were back together–but they don’t know that because they avoided each other for that long. A one night stand rekindles the flame in a way, and when Aubrey has an accident the next day and loses her memory, she only remembers the love she had for Vic. And Vic is encouraged to maintain the illusion until her memories come back.

That’s what bothered me the most, it was borderline non consensual: Aubrey didn’t have the ability to reject Vic since she didn’t remember the break up. That Vic took advantage of her state was understandable, but creepy. His justification is that Aubrey’s going to see he has changed and hopefully will remember that when her memories are back, and will maybe forgive him. At least he felt guilty and that redeemed him in my eyes. He pulls out all the stops in order to win her back. I ended up liking him a lot.

Especially the way he learns from his mistakes. Having a second chance at love really changes him, changes his goals. I found that endearing in the end. He definitely had feelings for Aubrey.

Though Aubrey’s refusal to let other people decide for her and take control of her life was great to read, I felt she went a bit too far. She never puts herself in other people’s shoes.

In the end, they basically fall in love with each other again–even though Aubrey doesn’t realize it–and that’s something I enjoy reading about. Add to that some family drama that helps with showing who Aubrey and Vic are, and some sweet cowboy actions, and you get a nice love story, sometimes cute, sometimes hot. It makes me want to take a look at the rest of the series.

Quickie

- Series: Texas Cattleman’s Club: Ranchers and rivals #6 (can be read as a standalone, but is part of a multi-author series of interconnected standalones)
- Hashtags: #cowboy romance #second chance romance #amnesia #highschool sweathearts
- Triggers: N/A
- Main couple: Aubrey Collins & Vic Grandin
- Hotness: 3/5
- Romance: 4/5
- + how being with Aubrey changed Vic for the better
- – the whole premise, while entertaining and original, isn’t really plausible–or there’s a doctor that should be fired

I enjoyed Aubrey and Vic’s second chance in An Ex to Remember by Jessica Lemmon, a wonderful and heartfelt reunion of first loves with a temporary amnesia twist and book six in the Texas Cattleman's Club: Ranchers and Rivals series. Vic Grandin and Aubrey Collins dated in high school and were even engaged. Unexpectedly meeting at the Silver Saddle, they reconnect over drinks, talk, and sharing a cannoli. Aubrey agrees to let Vic come home with her for only one night; then they would go their separate ways. Unfortunately Aubrey falls and suffers a head injury the next day, which results in partial amnesia she think she and Vic are still a couple. On doctor’s orders, they don’t correct Aubrey’s memory, giving Vic a second chance to show her that he has grown and regrets the actions that caused their break up. When Vic decides to finally tell her the truth about their past, she is not sure she can ever forgive him or her parents and friends for allowing her to believe in the happiness she thought she had. Hopefully, Aubrey can realize that it was all done because she was loved by Vic and her parents. One thing for sure, even after ten years, the attraction and chemistry between them still existed. We also learn more about the ongoing mystery of whether or not there is oil on Grandin and Lattimore land.

Ms. Lemmon wrote an enjoyable story, with lots of family drama, hunky hero, likeable heroine, and a perfect grand gesture, that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sizzling chemistry, clever banter, and charming characters giving Vic and Aubrey a second chance at love and a future together. I highly recommend An Ex to Remember to other readers.

Aubrey and Vic haven’t been together nor seen each other in 10 years since she broke off her engagement with him to go to college. Vic, back then was a selfish man who didn’t understand her need to go to college when we had everything provided for her. But Aubrey being the independent woman over here ✨boss lady status✨ said no thanks.

They randomly spot each other at a bar and they chat for a bit. Vic has felt regret and guilt over the last 10 years of how things ended. He’s hoping just for one night as a second chance. They spend the night together but! 1-2 days later Aubrey was involved in a stage accident where the stage collapsed and took her with it. She suffers from brain trauma and has slight amnesia. Only problem is, she doesn’t really remember that she and Vic broke up 10 years ago. She thinks they are still currently together.

Will this be Vic’s second chance he asked for in hopes to win the girl of his dreams back?? Or will it turn into a disaster? Find out here!

Also Vic is a hot cowboy who owns a ranch. So if you’re into cowboys… you’re welcome 😉 🤠

Sweet second chance romance with a amnesia scenario. I love a good amnesia romance! Plus, I find second change entertaining too, so I was all on board for that. Aubrey and Vic were engaged 10 years ago; they had a falling out, and have avoided each other. A bit of immaturity to this situation. Vic and Aubrey have a moment in the current time period, but there’s still some distance between them. When an accident happens and Aubrey ends up with selective amnesia, she believes that Vic and Her are still happily in love and have been together the whole time. Aubrey’s doctor tells her family and Vic to go along with it, so Aubrey doesn’t have a setback. Not sure about this doctor. This was a fairly low drama read. The connection between Aubrey and Vic is cute, and there are those steamy moments going on. I liked Vic and that he realized his mistakes. Some of Vic’s actions were totally sweet! Aubrey is likable too; there was some scenes were she was really rude, but she was dealing with something stressing and she owned up to it, so I liked her. Overall, a cute story! Enjoyed it!

4 1/2 STARS!

A heartfelt reunion of first loves! I actually thought he was an unredeemable jerk, but Jessica Lemmon has proven me wrong with the sixth book in the Texas Cattleman's Club: Ranchers and Rivals series and actually made me like Vic! The premise is a fresh take on a temporary amnesia story and the outcome is very rewarding. Looking forward to more to come in the series!

Vic has been a real piece of work earlier in the series, but we actually get to see the story behind the man and watch him become more aware of himself and his actions. I ended up liking him surprisingly.

Aubrey is the town sweetheart who hasn't given Vic the time of day in over a decade, but when a little case of amnesia has her mistakenly thinking they are together, he gets the chance of a lifetime to reconnect.

I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys lots of family drama and high powered scandal as each sibling finds their forever love.

An Ex to Remember is the story of Vic and Aubrey and how they navigate their relationship as it goes through the craziest twists and turns. Vic and Aubrey have been together since school and loved each other immensely until they had a huge argument which ended everything. Ten years later, they give in to a no strings night together, only for Aubrey to lose parts of her memory two days later and forget that she and Vic actually aren't together anymore.

I really enjoyed this story which, as is becoming the norm with any Jessica Lemmon book I read, packs an emotional punch. I loved the incendiary chemistry between Vic and Aubrey and the growth they both showed as individuals gave their relationship an authentic facet. I enjoyed the dynamic between Vic and his sisters and I thought the deep love they have for each other came through beautifully. This book was a delightful read and I'd highly recommend it.

An Ex to Remember is a book that does its job and is a great little escape. By that, I mean it is entertaining with interesting characters and I found myself rooting for Vic and Aubrey to find their respective happy endings.

The meet cute (again) between these two is unique and the set up for the story between Vic and Aubrey is one I haven’t seen very often. I enjoyed getting to know these two and seeing things unfold. I appreciated how these two both evolved and took the effort to understand that sometimes the person is right, but the time is not.

An Ex to Remember is part of a series, but stands well on its own. The secondary cast is primarily pulled from some of the other installments of the series and play a semi impactful role here. I am curious about the other books in the TCC group!

Vic had always loved Aubrey but he was hard-headed and made a mistake when he was younger. Their lives drifted apart but she was the one who got away from him. Aubrey was a teacher, well-respected and had no desire to speak to Vic. One day changed everything. I really enjoyed this read! I was here for the fact that Aubrey thought one thing, but Vic knew what was at stake. The amnesia gave her time to get to know him again and he was learning a new version of her as well. Their romance was a bit sweet, spicy and palpable through the pages! Having Aubrey back in his life, Vic found her to be a big supporter of his. She is there for him when others haven't been. While their second chance start may have started out of the ordinary, their romance was real. I loved this book and couldn't put it down! Jessica Lemmon romances are my favorite!

When amnesia gives them a second chance, Vic Grandin will stop at nothing to get his first and only love, the one he let get away: Audrey Collins. Though he’ll have to walk the fine line between telling a half truth and lying in order to get her to see he’s the man for her, Vic will have to do the hard work for them to get their chance.

With characters from previous TCC stories, this was an entertaining read, filled with laughs, steamy moments and the rediscovery of each other, as Audrey and Vic try to get past the bumps in the road to get in the right direction. Another great story by Jessica Lemmon.

In this second chance romance Aubrey and Vic dated in high and got engaged but broke up. Vic thought he could go on without Aubrey and she would later come crawling back admitting she made a mistake by breaking up with him but that never happened. Now it's been ten years since the breakup, but when Vic sees Aubrey at the Silver Saddle, he decides to proposition her to spend one night with him than they will go their separate ways but all that changes when Aubrey gets amnesia and per doctor's request Vic agrees to play along pretending that he and Aubrey are still involved when there not this was good with lots of emotions and unresolved feelings. More secrets about the Grandin and the Lattimore's and the oil rights.

A second chance romance where the main character has amnesia? Sounds ludicrous but it actually made for a really entertaining story. Vic is gruff but caring and we find that he has a heart of gold, especially when it comes to Aubrey his one and only love. Ambition and pride split them up 10 years prior but when Aubrey is involved in an accident that wipes the memory of their break up, Vic takes the opportunity to show just how meant to be they are. With Jessica's trademark sweet and spicy writing, An Ex to Remember is a sweet love story with a perfect ending.

Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of her book.

An Ex to remember was the story of Vic and Aubrey. High school sweethearts who had broken up for over 10 years before Aubrey had an accident that caused amnesia and threw them back together.
I really enjoyed this story. It wasn’t a typical storyline I come across which I loved. I believed the couples history and connection throughout and felt the heartbreak equally from both parts as it progressed.
I loved the ranch setting, the supporting characters, the hayloft scene!
A true romantic story about your heart remembering true love even if your mind doesn’t.

Fall is the season of change and second chances.

This is officially my new favorite book by Jessica Lemmon. The love story between Vic and Aubrey had the ups and downs that made their happily ever after even more satisfying. It's always great to read a book where the love between a couple is obvious from the start, and this story was made even better with a hero that recognized he had a second chance to be a better man for the woman he has always loved. This is a story I'll want to revisit every fall!

This book caught my attention from the first page and I could not put it down. Aubrey and Vic were high school sweethearts, but when things go south, they don’t speak for ten years. When Aubrey is hurt in an accident and loses her memory, Vic does everything he can to help her. I loved how Vic changed so he could be a better person and show Aubrey how much he still loved her. Fabulous second chance love story!

This is a new twist on a second chance romance. Jessica takes us on an intriguing amnesia journey. Our hero has gotten a second chance to make amends and prove he is a better man. I loved how they fit together. I was rooting for a happy ever after, and was not disappointed. I enjoyed seeing the blossoming relationship and how a heart knows what is good for it.

I can't wait for the next Lemmon book!

A second chance with the one who got away!

Aubrey gets a small head injury, which should only be considered a bad thing…except in the ten years since she and Vic dated, and she returned the ring they have both changed…a lot, and she kind of forgot about that little detail, and Vic sees a chance to revive their relationship.

I really enjoyed this book! Fun twists, great characters, and I always love a well-written second chance romance!

He broke her heart and stopped existing to her.
He will do anything to get his second chance.
Finally he gets his chance but he has to lie to her, he'll do it, so he can spend time with her.
That's all he gets, because when she discovers lie, it's the end.
