I thought the tests in high school were hard. Little did I know that here at Fae Haven it’s a do-or-die situation. Our lessons become very real, very quickly.
Not even before the first midterm, Fae Haven is attacked by the Slaugh, dangerous Fae who follow no master. Rumors about the Winter Fae Queen buzz around campus and Lord Ariel of the Spring Court is paying a little too much attention to me.
All I want to do is learn who I am and what I can do, but at the moment all I can do is stick close to the guys who are becoming so important to me and learn everything I can before it’s too late.
Elara was born from a love of fantasy and romance. She lives in the suburbs of a major Midwestern city with her loving husband, a beautiful daughter who grew up too fast and spoiled pets. She's always loved fairy tales and spent many hours telling and retelling them to her daughter when she was young. But what about fairy tales for the mommas? The rest was history. Mirrored Dreams is the first of Elara's stories for the moms. They include humor, hot heroes, some naughtiness, and lots of romance!
I'm not a fan of the writing style, felt like I was playing catchup and it's meant to be book 1. They met in a club we are told, we weren't there so we haven't actually met the MMCs but it's like we should already know them. Same goes for River, the whole love thing fell flat for me.
More time was spent explaining the courts and powers than the actual characters. Considering I couldn't differentiate the MMCs, then having the author use their full names, then their first names, then nicknames, then last names all on rotation. Found myself thinking who???
I found my mind wandering thinking about the next book I wanted to read. Not good.
I have no idea what the heroine looks like, her character is practically flat, feels disengaged.
I love this book! My only complaint is that at times I was a little lost about what words mean what. Maybe some more explanation at the beginning of the book. I can't wait for the next book.
There is a reason some books get recommended a lot and some….. don’t. I honestly went back to check this was book 1. I felt like I had come in at book 3 of a six book series. I had no idea what was going on and all the characters were simpering fools. I was annoyed and didn’t finish it.
