chap 46: the season finale was very sudden. hope the author gets well soon.

I'm so in love with Rena.
I absolutely love this webtoon and I'm really hoping the author gets well soon so that they'll be able to continue writing this masterpiece. I love how truly strong Rena is but at the same time she isn't cruel. She's so compassionate and kind that you may think she's stupid but she just looks for the best in people and once she realises just how evil those people were that she believed in, she will serve you a revenge 10x worse than what you did to her. She's so smart as well and pretty like this girl lacks nothing. I don't understand how anyone could abandon her.
Her father is truly evil. Not only does he sell his own daughter as a sacrifice but when he discovers how truly powerful she is, she's suddenly his "daughter" once again. He is absolutely shameless and at the same time he keeps calling her a monster and trying to kill her when really the only monster that I see is him. I feel so bad for Rena like she just wanted to be loved by him and all she got back was cruelty upon cruelty. She truly deserves so much better and I'm really hoping that the Duke of the South ends up adopting her as his daughter no matter all the political problems that may arise.
Lin as well is a sweetheart. I love how despite knowing how strong Rena is, he's still worried about her and wants to protect her which makes me love him so much more. There's no one out there more deserving of Rena than Lin and Lin deserves Rena as well after all of the crap he's been through. Rena is possibly the only woman he could be in a relationship with which only makes their love even more strong. Although what they're feeling now is not love in a romantic sense but rather in a more platonic one, I believe they could truly become a power couple if they tried.
Really one of the best webtoons I've ever read.

I'll mark this as done because that was supposed to be the season 1 finale. I felt like that was an incomplete ending. Even a few more panels and it would've been a cliffhanger and a good ending instead of cutting off pretty abruptly.
Regina freaked me out honestly, but I liked Lin, Yuni, and Engy. I liked Rena too..but she was pretty terrifying. I've read about lots of disturbing characters-but her unhinged smile makes me feel disturbed. I did learn to deal with problems by using a creepy cold smile though. I loved her intelligence and her kindness and how strong she was. There were so many good-looking characters..
I don't understand why she didn't acknowledge Engy because that was so sad, but this was still a good first season. I don't like this as much as I liked Philia Rose, but Youngji Kim is a talented author and the art style was stunning.

Llevo meses leyendo este webtoon y debo decir que es muy intrigante.
En este mundo cualquiera puede ser aliado y en el minuto siguiente enemigo.
Lleno de una magia peculiar que se obtiene en un tipo de mundo infernal.
Regina Rena es la protagonista, ella conoce a Lin, quien termina siendo el duque del Este.
Rena es hija de un noble del norte pero este la entrego a un experimento y ahora la repudia, ella hará lo que esté en sus manos para demostrar que su supervivencia no es un error, también hay algo de venganza.
La denigran no solo por ser mujer sino porque su padre hace como que está muerta.
Lin es de los pocos que la aprecian y para ayudar a sus estados, se comprometen. Pero al menos por parte de Lin, ya se siente el amor.
Para mí lo único que le baja es que hay veces que la expresión de los ojos hace que parezcan locos.
Super recomendado

Después de meses de espera para poder leer esta historia, me siento gratamente sorprendida.
Me es bastante buena y la prota me da unas fuertes vibes a Medea y es fascinante, esta algo loca pero es completamente normal eso pues... traumas vale.
Me gusta su actitud y su forma de ser, su relación con Lin es demasiado tierna y aaaaah los adoro, una pareja medianamente normal y completamente adorables uno con otro.
Por otro lado, la Emperatriz me da miedo weon, ta loca.
El padre es un malnacido, además de todo lo que hizo CREE QUE LO QUE SU HIJA GANA TAMBIEN VA PARA ÉL ????? TOMATELAAAAA PEDAZO DE-

Reseña temporada 1: Conocí esta historia en webtoon y hay 2 cosas que me gustaría recalcar:
1. Los gráficos son los mejores que he visto hasta ahora en todos los webtoons que he leído, son demasiado hermosos.
2. La historia es muy buena, te mantiene entretenido durante todo el capítulo y siempre quieres saber mas, hasta ahora es el mejor webtoon que he leído y simplemente Rena es de los mejores personajes femeninos que pude conocer.
Me muero por ya podr leer la segunda temporada de esta sorprendente historia.

For over a hundred years, the empire has been fighting a losing battle against the undead. Hope comes in the strange form of a young lady goes through many trials. She grows up lonely, is sold as a sacrifice, was forced into the Tomb to battle against the Kings of the Dead, and granted an enduring curse. She saves people who remind her of herself, helps the Southern Duke win against Those who Swallow the First Scream, and makes her way to the capital to confront the Marquis and restore her name, Rena Rubel. While she uses her powers and knowledge gained from the years she spent training in the Tomb she struggles to hold onto her life as the Emperor and the Cardinal try to force her hand. Will her new allies be enough to tip the scales in favor of humanity?

Honestly I hate the chronic use of flashbacks as exposition and reflection. I wish the story was told in a more linear format because the mechanic is overused and it breaks built up tension in both the current and past scenes. On the other hand, despite my dislike of that format I really like this story. The layers of morality, commentary on human nature, and the volatile mix of emotions (tragedy, revenge, desperation, hope, etc.) are not easy to convey with nuance and sincerity--but it works here. It stays close to the source material. The artwork is nice. Warning, it does end abruptly due to IRL circumstances.

I love this webtoon sm, the female lead, Regina Rena, is very powerful and instead of just being born like that we get to look into how she trained and got to her level. I find her character to be very powerful but not in a flashy way or a ‘I didn’t work for this at all’ way. As for the male lead, I like the lore and story around him, super curious to know more since we haven’t fully looked into it yet.
Their relationship is very healthy and cute, the communication is amazing since Rena is very straight forward and not that secretive if she doesn’t have to be. Len is also a good communicator and I can’t think of a time where I was frustrated with them.
The artstyle is very pretty, I love the lighting and all the frames are either cute or gorgeous.
I really recommend!! If you’re into fantasy with major world building, a strong female lead, and a nice plot line this is it for you.

Loved the FMC, Rena Rubel~ she's quick-thinking and a force to be reckoned. The MMC, Lin, and the Southern Duke, Bill, are great supporters too.
