Theempunal (Sweet waters) is book III in the Udhayabanu historical fiction series. This series is a sequel to author's well known earlier works - Rajakesari and Cherar Kottai.

13 books96 followersDr. Gokul Seshadri is the author of several works of historic fiction in Tamil based on the medieval history of South India. He is also a researcher, specializing in South Indian temple art and architecture.
A software architect by profession, Gokul started exploring his creative writing skills 20 years ago - with his first novel Rajakesari. This was followed by many other novels, short stories and articles. From 2010 onwards, he started pursuing academic studies in History with M.A. and M.Phil. degrees, followed by a doctoral research on Chola Ramayana sculptures. His novels are replete with intricate epigraphic, cultural, and historic references drawn from inscriptions, copper plate grants, literatures and living oral traditions. All of his books have been published by Palaniappa brothers. Also, from 2019 onwards, StoryTel India has been publishing his well known works as audiobooks.

Didn’t realize until 3/4th way that there will be more books in this series. Don’t know how long to wait.
I really like the historical portions of the story. The detective part is very good too.
Wish the author refrain from or lessen the narration that all women are jealous of other woman’s fortunes of life. Sometimes he talks the jealousy in men too. Though jealousy is human nature, his over usage is tiresome.
