About the author

Heather B. Moore is a USA Today bestselling author of more than ninety publications. Heather writes primarily historical and #herstory fiction about the humanity and heroism of the everyday person. This is a beautiful book and I found it very inspirational. I loved that the authors used women in the scriptures to illustrate the beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount. They chose a different woman for each of the beatitudes and used examples from her life to show how she lived that principle. I also liked the discussion/thought provoking questions at the end of the book. The book also contains gorgeous artwork.

This book was exactly the inspirational reminder I needed right now. I loved the way the authors highlighted women from the scriptures and showed how each taught, by personal example and experience, how to live the different beatitudes. The messages were encouraging and realistic. I took hope from the lessons of these brave women and enjoyed how I could liken their experiences to my own life. Definitely a beautiful and well-thought-out non-fiction novel. The artwork was also stunning and I liked the discussion/thought questions at the end.

I love how the authors chose women from the scriptures who exemplified the attributes found in Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. The book is not only filled with scriptures (The Sermon on the Mount) and inspirational examples of women from scriptures, but beautiful prints of paintings of the Savior. I love the quotes throughout from living prophets, apostles, and women's leaders from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At the end, there are discussion questions that will make this a great book for a religious book club.

This thoughtful compilation of reflections on exemplary women from the scriptures illustrates the beatitudes with a fresh perspective. I appreciated seeing how Heather B. Moore and Angela Eschler took the perspectives of these women and reflected on their lives and circumstances. The thought-provoking discussion questions at the end were a nice inclusion, along with the beautiful artwork and pleasing layout.

What a beautiful and insightful collection of stories and quotes from the Scriptures and our modern-day prophet and leaders. It’s always inspirational to read the beatitudes and the sermon on the mount. I really enjoyed focusing on the women of the Scriptures and liking them to us as women of today. It was a beautiful, uplifting, peaceful, Sunday afternoon read.

Isn't that cover just so beautiful? The pages inside are as well. There is a lot of original artwork included within that I have just loved looking at. The design on the pages add a lot to its physical beauty.

But it is not just physically beautiful. The message and words of these two authors have been very touching to read. I loved the different thoughts and perspectives that was brought to my mind and heart about what the Savior spoke about when he taught His Sermon on the Mount. He shared the Beatitudes with the people who were gathered around wanting to learn from Him. This book highlights 8 different women from the scriptures and talks about one of the Beatitudes for each woman. Showing how they lived their lives and emulated that Beatitude.

It definitely had me thinking differently than I had for several of them. I had some tears as I was touched by the Spirit behind the messages and thinking about how I can apply these more fully to my own life and how I've already applied them to my life. As well as a deeper respect for these women I've heard about, read about and studied throughout my life. Their strength and courage and quiet love and compassion and their lifting and strengthening those around them.

This is one I highly recommend reading. You'll want to read it again and again as you ponder these thoughts. Beautifully done!

This is a really lovely book. Each chapter focuses on one verse from the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount and relates it to the life of a woman from the scriptures, such how Esther both felt and received mercy. I really loved the insights into these women as well as the lesson we can learn from them. Discussion questions at the end for further study (I do wish those had been included at the end of each chapter, rather than the end) and beautiful illustrations round out this wonderful book.

This is a wonderful, faith inspiring book. Not only are their beautiful illustrations but the insight into each of the women feature is inspiring. I loved how the authors took a beatitude and showed how each of these different women emulated that quality. I thought it was well written and a great book to help anyone wanting to learn more about the beatitudes and how to apply them.

Women Who Believe by Heather B. Moore and Angela Eschler (5 stars)

A clever and spiritually uplifting Christian book.

I use the word clever, because the authors take a beatitude and then show an example of that character trait by showing us a corresponding character trait in a woman from scripture. It’s a cool way to personalize and see one example of how to apply the principles that Jesus taught.

Obviously, it’s spiritually uplifting because it talks about the beatitudes as well as the strengths of character/testimony in various women in scripture.

A lovely book, with gorgeous illustrations and deep meaning. This is a treasure!

Inspirational book.
Very thought provoking writing. The authors choose different women from the scriptures to use as an example of each point of the Beatitudes taught by Jesus Christ. I loved the connections they made from each woman’s life. And at the end of the book, they have insightful questions for the reader to ponder and apply to their personal lives. With all the turmoil going on in the world, this book reminds us of how we can find and keep personal peace.

This book is amazingly beautiful! I love the cover and the illustrations within the book. The whole thing is just so pretty.

I also love the way the authors picked amazing women from the Bible. These are women who have something to teach us in our day. And I loved reading about each and every one of them. I love that there is a trend toward learning as much as we are able to learn about the women of the Bible. And the way this book is done by using the Sermon on the Mount is very unique. The authors did it so well.

This book would be a fabulous gift for any woman in your life for Mother’s Day!

I absolutely loved this beautiful book, Women Who Believe: Messages of Joy from the Sermon on the Mount by Heather B. Moore & Angela Eschler. I have always loved to read about Jesus Christ and his teachings in The Sermon on the Mount. The authors have done a fabulous job of sharing these teachings by highlighting eight different women from the scriptures. Each chapter focuses on a woman and one of the Beatitudes and how it was reflected in their lives. The gorgeous artwork that accompanies each chapter makes this book so complete.

This wonderful book was written for those who want to study more about the Savior and The Beatitudes and women from the scriptures. This inspirational non-fiction book will motivate and influence anyone who is looking for guidance and peace in their lives.

This was a Christmas gift to me from my dear daughter. The book features stories of women from the Bible and The Book of Mormon who showed qualities that the Savior taught in HIs Sermon on the Mount. The book focuses on the Beatitudes and each Beatitude is accompanied by a story focusing on a particular woman. I really enjoyed this gift. I found a lot of insight in it that showed how these qualities work in real life. Most of the artwork was beautiful, but the paintings of Sarah, Eve, and the Savior did not appeal to me. It is really rare when I see a picture of the Savior that I don't like, but the face and eyes were just weird. Otherwise, the book was a delight. I will be keeping this book on my shelf.

This was a wonderful short book to read. Heather B. Moore and Angela Eschler took the Beatitudes scriptures from Matthew 5:3-10 that Christ gave in his Sermon on the Mount and used women from the scriptures who exemplifies those beatitudes and how we can apply the beatitudes in our own lives. I’m not great at reading the scriptures and when I do it oftentimes goes over my head in understanding. Having scholars like Moore and Eschler break down the scriptures and use story examples help me to truly understand the scriptures so that when I read them in the scriptures I don’t feel so lost and confuse.

Truly Inspiring!
This book ventures into the lives of scriptural women and uses them as examples for those of us who have read about them or who will read about them. Their strength in spirit and faith in God was a pivotal moment in our history and if not for their strong faith and belief, our scriptural history could have become vastly different. As they are, they have shown us remarkable courage and faith in God which we modern day women can emulate.

I liked this book. It talked about several women in the scriptures and the trials they went through. I think we can learn a lot from them and their faith, courage, determination, sacrifices and services they willingly provided to others sometimes even though they might loose their lives for doing it. It was good to look at the lives of individual women that are in the scripture stories that we know so well and take a closer look at their lives and trials.

I wish I would’ve appreciated this book as much as others. I did like her comparison and research into these women’s lives but feel that almost any of the beatitudes could’ve almost been compared to each of them. I was grateful I did learn from reading!
