Sometimes Wattpad shows me amazing stories that I can't put down. Sometimes it shows me ridiculous shit that I can't stand to read past the first chapter. This story is both- ridiculous shit I couldn't put down. It was like a car crash- terrible, but you can't turn away.

Hate on me as you will, but I'm sick of hearing about this story everywhere I go on wattpad, and, in growing numbers, tumblr. You might be thinking, if I despise this novel so much, why did I take the time to read it? Because something that has 15 million reads should be some kick-ass story that deserves a blockbuster pronto. Wrong, wrong, WRONG.

Is there anything good about this story? The original plot? Yeah, that's it. But it's not original anymore because the dodobirds of wattpad have recycled the idea about a thousand times now. The plot is the reason why I clicked "start reading" (and because it had 15 million reads) and it let me down.

Oh yeah, some girl becomes obsessed with wattpad and a hate comment leads to a romance with a dark, brooding, sexy emo guy. Did I mention the most popular boy in school suddenly takes an interest to Jules, who is mentioned several times as being "nerdy". I smell wattpad cliche in the air. It was predictable. It was boring. Several times I was tempted to bang my head against a wall because of the sheer ridiculousness. Just, well, everything was ridiculous. The characters, the way they behaved, the over-done dramatic scenes so they just made me roll my eyes it was all so cheesy and laughable.

Next, the writing- the grammar mistakes. My God, the grammar mistakes. I know I can't be picky about this, but when your story has 15 million reads at least learn where to put your damn apostrophes. The writing was so simple it reminded me of something the guy who sits next to me in English wrote. Not that it was bad, but it was simple. Unpoetical. she could have enriched the quality of her novel with richer words, better descriptions and a beta reader.

Basically, I just had to get my feelings for this novel out there. It makes me want to pull my hair out how loved this book is when truthfully, it's ridiculous, poorly written, and cliche. I tried liking it, but when the MC walks on basically every male character naked and makes point of seeing their "little buddy" (that is seriously what the author called it. Just, no, I can't even.) it makes it hard. I can pull a quote straight from the novel that basically sums up how I feel about this book-

"Your story is really girly, don't you think? It is not good if you ask me, I don't understand how it is so famous."

And right there is the quote that brought our brooding emo love interest with a dark past into the story.


Did I mention it has 15.7 million reads and counting and is being published?

Este libro me ha dado vibes de historias de Wattpad de año 2015

💻 Es muy fácil y rápido de leer. Además los capítulos son cortos y adictivos.

🖤 Os lo recomiendo como una lectura rápida dónde los personajes no tiene mucho desarrollo con una historia simple

🚩 Es un libro que tiene sus red flags que no me han gustado nada pero si vas con la idea de que las hay, supongo que no afecta tanto.

❤️‍🩹 sinceramente el romance que hay se ha iniciando muy rápido, de un momento a otro ya teníamos a la protagonista enamorada y diciendo “te amo”

🌹 la protagonista la verdad que me ha gustado bastante. Han habido momentos donde se ha dejado pisotear bastante pero otro donde ha puesto límites, por lo que me parece una persona real.

Le doy 2,5/3 porque no es una historia que volvería a leer. Mas bien un libro que no te aporta muchas cosas pero te entretiene.

Que carajo acabo de leer, la autora (sin ánimos de ofender) creo una Raquel Mendoza #2, Ari querida NECESITAMOS UNA PROTAGONISTA CON DIGNIDAD.
La trama no fue la mejor, pero me mantuvo entretenida, el triángulo amoroso rari no lo entendí.
No era de ningún team, ninguno de los dos me llegó a convencer, pero si tengo que elegir elijo a Jason (ahre no había entendido nada del libro).
Shane (así se llamaba 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️) me parecio un tarado, si te gusta una mina, no le bajas la autoestima capo.
Evan eeeeeee no se, me cayó mejor que el otro, pero el "tu eres mia" me da ganas de vomitar.

OMG THIS WAS AMAAAZZING!

I just recently joined Wattpad, so this was the first book I ever read on it.

And ohmyholypancakeflipping goodness it was off the SHOW! I was just blown away!

It had a little bit of course language spattered through it, but I was okay with that. The story was really well developed and, I'm slightly ashamed to say, I have yet another book boyfriend.

Evan Woods, welcome to the club ;)

I found myself laughing and smiling the whole way through this, which earnt me weird looks from my mum, but whatever. Jules and Evan's banter was just so heartwarming and hilarious, even when he was insulting her. I loved how his first message to her wasn't "You're cute" or "Hey sexy" or anything insta-love like that- instead, their beautiful, one-of-a-kind relationship started with him insulting her :')

Completely original, fallen in love, can't get past it and a must read and the re-read and re-re-read then re-re-re-read again. Thank you for such an amazing book Arix! 5 stars!

My Wattpad Love by Ariana Godoy, I read it because a friend of mine on GR (Ari) had read it and had liked it so, I thought It'd be nice to read, since she liked it, and well, I was kinda correct, because I loved the first 70-ish percent of the book, while the rest 30 percent of the book, kinda made me sick in a way.



The Plot was that Julie, a shy girl joined Wattpad, where you can read and write you own books, where she started talking to a person name Darkpoet, who's real name is Evan, in the beginning, she despises him, but then she starts liking him, and things go on from there.

The Writing, I never really know what to say about the writing, I guess, it was good.



The Characters

Julie
I liked her, she was shy and not fully a grown up person in the beginning, but then things happened, that I don't wanna say, because they make me feel weird right now, and ugh!... I guess later on, I started liking Julie less... CAUSE SHE'S JUST KINDA ANNOYING LATER... :(((



Evan
Evan seemed nice, which I mean he is, but he's had a rough past abuse, and it's just sad, like seriously thing sort of stuff might be happening and we don't really know about it, also Evan seemed caring cause he used to take beatings for his sister.

Shane
I mean, I think Shane's a dumb jerk, and I don't think anyone could argue, with me, but he has a soft side, which I only ever saw like once in the book, and plus he always seems to be drunk. WHAT THE HECK IT WRONG WITH HIM?

Jason
How do I say this?
I'm not really a big fan of Jason he seems to grown up and has a lot of romance things going on on his life, and I JUST DON'T LIKE HIM!, Except for his soft side, which I do like, kinda... or maybe not ALSO HE'S DRUNK TOO MUCH OR SOMETHING! :(((

I DON'T LIKE HER MUCH EITHER!, she's just like every other high school girl, she has a crush on a popular guy Jordan, Shane's best friend, and plus her advice seems kinda lousy to me. ANNOYING, ANNOYING LAURA... BOOOO! :((((

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I FINISHED THIS BOOK WITHOUT DYING WITH CRING!, OH WAIT I DID! I mean if I knew the romance in this was gonna get intense, I probably wouldn't have read it, right now, (ALSO FOR PEOPLE THIS HAS A HIGH LEVEL ROMANCE). I loved the beginning, and middle. Also something else doesn't Julie's mother pay attention to her, what she does and stuff, I mean, if I went out with a boy and stayed at his house without telling her, I WOULD GET IN SO MUCH TROUBLE, so partly, SOME OF IT JUST WASN'T REALISTIC, I MEAN SERIOUSLY. ALSO SERIOUSLY HIGH SCHOOLERS GETTING DRUNK, WHAT THE HECK? THIS BOOK IS SO UNREALISTICLY-REALISTIC IN A WAY, IDK!



Romance
As you already, know I think this book had a lot of grown up romance, and I guess I didn't enjoy it much, but the worst part I THINK THERE WAS A FREAKING LOVE TRIANGLE IN THIS BOOK, BUT SERIOUSLY EVERYONE KNEW THAT SHANE LIKED JULIE, JULIE IS SO DUMB, IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY.

Overall
I didn't enjoy this book as much as I would have liked to enjoy it, which is sad, cause I really though I'd enjoy it, but I didn't much :(

Eso es lo que me molesta de algunos libros, por que te lo venden como "romántico" y en cambio hay otros libros que ya vienen las advertencia de que este "romance" es tóxico pero te lo venden como lo que es 🕴 y no te tratan de vender la idea de que esas actitudes son normales en una relación

The plot was interesting and started a new trend on Wattpad.

I really wanted to love the novel itself as much as I loved the plot idea, I really did; but for some reason I just couldn't find it in me. I don't know whether it was Arix's style of writing, which was just so simple (but not in the elegant simple way, but simple as in 7th grade simple) or the number of grammatical mistakes that left me with the impression that she either didn't have an editor or she didn't proofread... I'm not too sure how she won the Watty Awards over people like Jordan Lynde, but I'd still congratulate her on that feat. Different readers different tastes, I guess.

Either way, I expected much more. Hopefully She Will Be Mine and the squeal will leave a better impression.

Giving it two stars instead of one because I really do think the story-line was a breath of fresh air.

This was not realistic at all. You ruined the way people see guys on Wattpad, and now a guy can't even say "Hi" without being swarmed by annoying girls. Fake guys are appearing every day.

Abandonado. No logré leerlo. En Wattpad al menos tiene faltas de ortografía terribles, también de coherencia.
La historia es terriblemente infantil. La chica parece tener una edad mental de 7 años.
Sinceramente, no sé cómo es que logró tanta fama.
La moraleja de Wattpad es: nunca tengas expectativas muy altas de algo que tenga muchos votos.

Y no saben el cringe que me dio varias partes de este libro.

Para lo liviano que se supone que son estas lecturas, se me hizo imposible terminarlo.
Todos los días me ponía a leer y tenía que dejarlo a un lado porque... los personajes. Básicamente los personajes son el problema, están desdibujados y son como caricaturas hechas con palitos en vez de dibujos propiamente tal, con colores y sombras.
Me duele el corazón calificar tan mal el libro y en verdad intenté darles oportunidades para ver si reapuntaba, pero no, cada vez era peor.
La historia no estaba mal, por eso puse 2 estrellas en vez de 1, y la redacción tampoco, solo le falta soltar mucho la mente para hacer personajes más reales o por últimos, menos reales pero con una personalidad atrapante.
Por lo que ese es mi consejo: que plasme mejor los personajes porque tengo la sensación que Arianna puede mejorarlos mucho.

First things first. This book is so awesome.

So the first moment I lay my eyes on this book, I think it'll be the cheesy story of a girl's love life, where she's a damsel in distress. Well, clearly and happily, I stand corrected. This story, however, is about a girl's love life, but it's not cheesy AT ALL. I fell in love with it at the first page. This story is super unique, and original.

The Characters:

Julie (aka Jules): Is your typical shy, not outgoing girl. She loves to read and write, and one lucky day, she finds an amazing site called Wattpad where you get to post your writing and read other people's. She posts her work.. and one day, a mysterious boy going by the name of Darkpoet, replies to her work with rude comments. She's angry, and she texts back. They go back and forth like that. Soon, they start to realize that what they have isn't simply friendship. What I really loved about Julie is that she's not perfect. She isn't your blond, popular, pretty cheerleader like most of the characters in the stories these days. She's kind of geeky and shy- but not a nerd. She sucks at math.

Evan (aka Darkpoet): Evan.. is Julie's crush. He's dark, mysterious, a great poet, hot, and Julie's just attracted to him. He was abused in his past. His dad murdered his mom, and then committed suicide. So, like most kids who've had a hard past, he's very reserved and distant. He never tells anything to Julie and.. Just mysterious. He doesn't want anyone to pity him, and he suddenly turns cold when Julie tries to find out where he lives.

Shane: Shane is your high school football guy, with a six/eight pack. He's the school's playboy, and he never sticks with one girl. He's hot, has muscles, a jerk, and basically, every girl falls for him. Except Julie. Sure, she's noticed his good looks. She believes that he has a good, nice side inside his mask. Slowly, Shane starts to fall for Julie, the unpopular and not-that-pretty-girl. He knows she loves Evan, and that makes him want her even more. I really felt sorry for him. He's a good guy- deep inside.

The Plot:

One word: Original and Creative. Okay, fine, that was two. Anyway, what I really loved was that I've never seen a story like this before. I saw it on Wattpad (Yeah, it's a real site) and it was truly amazing. I thought my story was pretty good, and then I read this. I was like, Yeah... I suck. XD Also.. The author is HILARIOUS. She has a sense of humor. Every chapter I laughed so hard. Like today, I read this at 6 in the morning and I laughed so hard that I woke everyone up. A must-read for sure.

Overall:

Amazing story. A definite page-turner and makes you want to read more no matter what.
5 stars for the characters, 5 stars for the plot, 5 stars for the sense of humor, 5 stars again for amazing characters. Yayy!!! Excellent job!

Amo a Ari porque escribe muy ligero y sus historias se leen o se escuchan (como fue mi caso) en nada.
De verdad que una vez que me puse con el mas detenidamente lo avance sin parar.
Es tóxico… debo advertirlo.
Pero es entretenido, rápido y te atrapa (mezcla ideal)
Lo recomiendo mucho! Además es lo mas puro y sano que leerán de la autora jaja lo demás tiene escenas muy diferentes 🔥

Osea no puedo darle ni más ni menos , para mí personalmente dos estrellas es como un lectura para pasar el tiempo . Créeme nunca califico las historias de wattpad tan bajas por el simple hecho de que no me ilusiono con ellas . Pero esta historia mi hizo perder mil veces la cabeza . Estaba siempre cuestionandome si seguir o dejarlo , pero como no puedo dejar una historia a medias segui . Y créeme me encantó el final , porque por fin termino. Y dare mis razones por la que el libro realmente no me gustó, cabe recalcar que lo lei en wattpad así que si en el libro es de otra forma , pues yo daré mi versión a lo que leí.

1 La protagonista .

Nunca vi a alguien tan inmaduro , estupida y muy irresponsable como ella . Primero de todo nos da entender que es una chica muy insegura que se oculta en el mundo de wattpad y escribe historias y con eso conoce a poeta oscuro , que le critico o no le gusto su historia y ella se enoja y le llama grosero . Me pareció muy inmaduro todo eso , para publicar cosas en internet debes estar conciente de hay personas que no le gustarán y darán su opinión, y ella una opinión negativa le pareció algo del otro mundo , como pensando que todo el mundo debe amar su historia cuando obviamente no es así y si ella va a ser escritora , pues debe de acostumbrarse a las críticas y me parece muy inmaduro de su parte eso . Luego está el hecho de que a pesar del daño que le causa Evan ella sigue detrás de él , a pesar de que el le haga daño y se aleja de ella , es demasiado estupida y insistente , por el hecho de que siempre tenía que preguntar donde vivía evan a pesar de que no queria decírselo , hay algo llamado privacidad. Luego está un poco más adelante donde le devuelve el beso a shane consciente de ella esta en una relación con evan , y el vez de hacerse responsable de sus actos , por que claramente besó a shane , lo culpa a él "por arruinar su relación" , donde claramente ella le devolvió el beso , muy irresponsable . Me pareció una protagonista insufrible , pero evoluciona un poquito al final pero igual no me gusta su forma de ser.

2. Drama

El principio me gustó, parecía como esas novelas que iban a ser muy cursis y lindas , donde todo era chill y relajado. Pero poco a poco empezó el drama , sobre todo , por la inestabilidad de los sentimientos de Evan , la aparición de jane , el beso de shane , la mentira de Evan , la aparición del padre de jules...
Solo lo del padre de jules fue lo que menos me frustró y más o menos entendi . Pero lo otro, estaba todo el rato , echando humo .

Primero : La inestabilidad de Evan : Entiendo su pasado oscuro es difícil , todos hemos sufrido mucho y tal y cada uno lo sufre de una manera u otra . Pero eso no va justificar el daño que le hace a jules , tanto como en el primer libro (de Wattpad ) y en el segundo .

Segundo : La aparición de jane fue demasiado impactante , pero eso también le hecho culpa mucho a evan, por que fue una sorpresa encontrarla . Bueno aún así está es el típico cliché donde ella intenta arruinar la relacion y tal cosa , y para mí tubo relevancia en la trama y a la vez no , porque aunque estropeo la relación , no la vemos interactuar mucho , solo somos tres veces con la protagonista y en la trama .

Tercero : el beso de shane , en mi opinión, me gustó que la protagonista le fuese sincera sobre el beso , lo que no me gustó es la manera irrespetable que shane tubo con la protagonista sabiendo que esta en una relación , osea , tuve que ver miles de comentarios diciendo que shane es un amor y tal cosa , pero dale no respetó la relación y si la hubiera amado no se metería en eso , luego está jules que también le devolvió el beso " por lástima " o como ella quiere decirlo , pero no sintió lástima por evan , y ya hablé sobre que luego le hecho la culpa a shane .

Cuarto: La mentira de Evan : No tuvo motivo y obviamente no hacía falta tanto drama , para mí lo que hizo con jane en el pasado, pasado esta , pero no la engañó como hizo jules , y obviamente no defiendo a Evan , el tuvo que ser un poco mas inteligente y ser sincero, pero una pequeña parte entiende por qué no se lo contó. Pero osea le pusieron tanto drama a eso , que es patético, osea no la engañó , pero si jules anda besando a otro cuando está con Evan no importa . Es demasiado Hipócrita la historia .

3. Relación Tóxica

Evan era muy posesivo e inestable , y jules era muy dramática y estupida que lo perdonaba , obviamente no era una relación sana y el final me dejó contradictorio , por que se siente como si quisiera a shane , ya que ellos se atraen , pero esta con Evan y no se creo que todo eso de su relación no funciona . Ya que Evan tiene una dependencia emocional hacia jules y jules está claro que le atrae Shane , solo que su mente lo niega . Simplemente no tomen como ejemplo esta situación o mejor dicho pareja.




El lado bueno es que hay momentos en que me divertí y momentos donde me mori de risa , pero simplemente la trama , es algo muy cliché, muy exagerado y simplemente no conectas con los personajes . Me hubiera gustado , que fuera un poco más tranquilo , más "chill" y que en vez de una historia con muchos enredos hubiera sido dos personajes que poco a poco se conocen en wattpad y tuvieran un amor , muy lindo y muy sano.


Pero bueno espero que hayan entendido mi punto , si no la verdad yo me entiendo y prefiero que sea así. 2 estrellas porque fue una buena lectura para pasar el rato.

The author should be aware of the usage and difference between full-stops and apostrophes.


Plot was refreshing I suppose, and I might have enjoyed it if it was executed well. Overall, a one star rating.


Also, I would prefer reading it on Wattpad rather than buying a physical copy ( how did this even get published? )

OMG

No pensé que me fuera a gustar tanto.

Lo terminé en menos en un día. No podía parar. Cada capítulo me sumergia más. Este me gustó más que el de ATVDMV.

Le tengo un cariño inmenso a cada personaje. Me gusta la loca amistad de Jules, Shane, Lau y Jordan. También la de Jules y Jason. Y desde el principio ame la de Jules y Evan.

No hay capítulo que me haga morir de risa con las ideas que le salen de la cabeza a estos. En especial la Jules dramática me hace reír bastante. Jules también me provocó unas ganas inmensas de comer Ruffles.

Aquí la cosa es que amo a Evan y Shane. No soy de ningún team y cuando Jules está con algunos de ellos me siento bien. Así que por el momento quedaría feliz con cualquiera que quedara al final de la historia. Lo que más mi importa es que sea feliz.

Debo confesar que Shane y Evan también tienen sus defectos. Que ni pá que decirlo. Pero también tienen su lado hermoso y divertido.

En fin, en esta primera lectura ame tanto la historia que le dí 5 estrellas. Ariana Godoy, te amo.

It's not even the grammar mistakes. Sure, they were annoying and a bit off-putting but that's not it. Okay, let me tell you want I think, because I've wanted to rant about this for quite a while.

Okay, so the main female character, Julie, has a Wattpad account. Which she becomes obsessed with. She posts some stories and within a few days she has TONS of fans.

Erm, because that is SO realistic.

Then you have Evan. The guy she talks to on Wattpad. He's rude to her at first, yet in some weird way, she develops a crush on him.

*Face palms*

Oh, and the thing is, she hasn't even met him face-to-face. He warns her that he's not a good person, yet she still feels like having conversation with her crush, a guy who could be 65 years old.

OH, and she GIVES HIM HER HOUSE NUMBER. Not only putting herself, but HER FAMILY in danger. This girl is meant to be 17 or 18 years old for goodness' sake!! HE COULD BE A SERIAL-KILLER FOR ALL YOU KNOW!!

Then there's the love pentagon. Yes, I called it a pentagon.

There's so many guys I just can't keep track, her best friend, Evan, the guy Shane or something, who, of course is secretly in love with her!! To be honest, he's the only guy WITH A BRAIN in the story. He uses his common sense, (something not everyone in the book has) and warns Julie about Evan, but NOOO!!

I honestly just, I can't express how irritating this book was too read. I literally FORCED myself to carry on reading it, hoping it would get better towards the end.

The disappointment was overwhelming.

So, read the book if you want, everyone has different opinions. I actually cringe every time I come across this book. I'm sorry, but HOW THE HECK DID IT GET PUBLISHED?!

Most Wattpad books are unrealistic and cliché, (I like unrealistic and cliché) but this book was A WHOLE NEW LEVEL of unrealistic. Seriously. It was like the mum didn't even exist! I don't even remember her being mentioned in the book more than five times. Like, how is she not worried about this mysterious 80 year old guy her daughter is talking to?

Yes, I know he's not 80. BUT HE COULD HAVE BEEN.

Then there's her best friend, supporting this 'relationship'. I just, I just can't. I can't. This book is kinda saying that you can fall in love through the Internet.

Sorry kids, but it aint true.

Even if anyone falls in 'love' through the Internet, it is VERY rare. This book was just SO BAD, whenever someone mentions it or I see it, I cringe.

Sorry author, but this ISN'T one of your best books. Congrats on getting it published though!!

No. Just no.

It started well, but by the fifth chapter I was already banging my head against a wall. The characters were literally stupid and didn't have any personality. It was difficult to read and I thought more than once about putting it down. This story is the kind of story you can read everywhere, plus the writing wasn't good. But it's also the kind of story you can't help reading, even if you already know how it's going to end.

Likes:
- Jason. He's actually one of the only character I liked. He's funny, he cares for his friends, and he's a little lost in love. He doesn't act in a weird way and reacts well when something doesn't go as planned.
- Shane. Since the beginning of the story, I knew what was going to happen to him. It was obvious. But even while knowing it, I got attached to him. He's making progress in relationships, he learns how to care for someone, how to help people.
- It was funny. There were good jokes and I laughed quite a few times, I have to admit.

Dislikes :
- The plot. Since when a single hate comment on one of our story ends up in a relationship? And why did Julie react the way she did? I mean, there are hate comments everywhere. Get past it. I know it's hard, but there will always be people to dislike your story. Also, I really didn't like Evan. He's acting like a child, he never know what he wants, and he's such a cliché with his bad-boy style and his dark soul, I wanted to punch him.
- SHANE. HE DESERVED BETTER . Shane is worth so much more than Evan! He's the one helping Julie when she's down and her friends aren't there, he's the one trying to make her understand that Evan is an idiot, and still nope she doesn't see it. Arrrgh it frustated me so much!
- The end. Evan rejects Julie during the whole book, the whole book, and with only one "I love you" he's accepting to be her boyfriend. It's absolutely unrealistic and I cringed while reading this scene.

El libro no ha conseguido gustarme. No es para nada atrapante aunque se lee rápido.

No esperaba nada y aún así logró decepcionarme. La lectura en un inicio resulta ir veloz, pero luego de la mitad del libro empieza a ir lento y se hace aún más aburrido.

Aunque los personajes (algunos, no todos) tuvieron un desarrollo relativamente bueno, para el contexto en el que estaban llegaron a parecer niños pequeños.

La historia en sí no es adictiva. Si la hubiese leído a los 9 años tal vez me hubiese gustado, porque me habría identificado con los personajes aniñados. Sin embargo logre empatizar con Evan, por el cual realmente leí esta historia. Logró ser conmovedor aunque había detalles molestos. Del resto ningún personaje logro agradarme.

Quiero resaltar el hecho de que se usaron muchas muletillas que al momento de leer eran insoportables. No podía leer más de una página sin que palabras, frases o expresiones fueran constantemente frustrantes. También había palabras de más.

La narración al principio fue rápida y mostró típicos clichés, como el del chico popular y guapo que se enamora de la chica que nadie nota, el cual veía venir desde el principio; luego, al final, se extendió demasiado y fue tedioso de leer, como si fuese relleno.

El romance en el libro no estuvo mal, pero no consiguió ser atractivo. No negare que pequeñas partes de la historia me causaron risa, pero solo eso, no hay nada que pueda tomar como entretenido más que la historia de Evan.

En general, no me gustó.

«Mi amor de Wattpad» no ha sido un libro para mí y realmente me ha costado terminarlo. Es verdad que fue un boom en su época, pero siento que el paso de los años no le ha favorecido. Se ha quedado anticuado.

La trama gira en torno a Jules, quien escribe historias en Wattpad y mediante esta plataforma conoce a Evan, otro escritor. Desde un principio se llevan mal, pero con el tiempo establecen una amistad a través de la pantalla.

Para comenzar, no soportaba a ninguno de los personajes. La prota es insufrible, que dramatiza todo y es el prototipo de chica virgen e inocente que no sabe nada. Después, los dos intereses amorosos, Evan me pareció un psicópªta en vez del “chico misterioso” como te lo pintan; y Shane es el mujeriego engreído que trata fatal a la pronta.

También hubo un triángulo amoroso, que era totalmente incensario y no tenía ningún sentido. Bueno, la trama en general carece de sentido además de dramatizar absolutamente todo, llegando a la ridiculez.

Otro punto a destacar, son los comentarios machistas del libro, que me daban mucha rabia cada vez que aparecían. Entiendo que el libro fue escrito hace tiempo y que en ese entonces estaban normalizados en el ambiente sociocultural del país de la autora. Pero si vais a leer el libro, es importante que los localicéis.

En fin, personalmente no lo recomiendo, pero a mucha gente le ha gustado. Recordad que esta es mi opinión, que es totalmente subjetiva y basada en mis gustos.

Para pasar el rato. Abundan los clichés y es un poco tonto en algunos aspectos, pero no negaré que logra enganchar y que es perfecto como distracción gracias a lo amena que resulta la narración.

Jules es una adolescente que descubre Wattpad y se engancha a leer lo que se publica en esa plataforma. Un día, decide lanzarse a escribir ella sus propias historias y consigue que la mayoría de sus lectores la alaben. Sin embargo, un usuario llamado Poeta Oscuro le hace una crítica negativa y, a partir de ahí, comenzará un tira y afloja que derivará en una atracción.

La idea no es mala, es cierto que se puede ir deduciendo fácilmente qué rumbo tomará todo, pero es como el típico cotilleo del que no te puedes despegar y del que quieres saber más. Además, se combina el texto normal con extractos de SMS, chats o mensajes a través de Wattpad, lo cual dota de más fluidez a la lectura.

Jules es muy cría a veces, aunque también es normal por su edad. Con ella se cumplen varios tópicos, como, por ejemplo, el de "chica que habitualmente pasa desapercibida y que, de repente, despierta el interés de todos los chicos que la rodean". El punto que tiene a su favor es que no resulta irritante. Asimismo, tampoco se la puede acusar de hacer nada muy estúpido, ya que sus decisiones suelen tener lógica.

Respecto a Evan, que es a quien originalmente conocemos como Poeta Oscuro, debo decir su mayor punto fuerte es el misterio que lo rodea. En general, cuenta muy poco de sí mismo y ni siquiera quiere aclarar dónde vive o sus circunstancias, así que es inevitable esperar con ganas sus mensajes y ver qué va desvelando en ellos. A medida que lo conocemos mejor, pues se va haciendo querer, aunque no negaré que en las últimas páginas cansa su hermetismo en determinados asuntos y su empeño en querer evitar lo inevitable sin tener una buena excusa. Hay otro chico, Shane, que logra cautivar más que él durante la primera mitad de la novela. Es el típico engreído que va de graciosillo, pero suele tener más química con Jules. Lo que pasa es que su personaje va perdiendo puntos y hasta cabrea el modo en el que Jules justifica alguno de sus actos.

Lo peor del libro es lo repetitiva que es la autora contando los gustos de los personajes o evitando que los principales pasen demasiado tiempo juntos.

El desenlace me dejó un sabor agridulce, esperaba más. Y encima vislumbré ciertas cosas en Evan que no me hicieron gracia. Aun así, no es un final malo, es simplemente que considero que algunas escenas podrían haber dado más de sí.

La puntuación real sería un 2,5/5. Voy a redondear al alza por el enganche que tiene y porque, a pesar de contar con 415 páginas, se lee en un abrir y cerrar de ojos. El estilo de escritura es sencillo y la rápida sucesión de los acontecimientos consigue que no te dé la sensación de que la historia se ha estancado.

Francamente, "Mi amor de Wattpad" es lo que necesitaba en este momento, un libro sencillo y entretenido, sin mayores pretensiones y que fuera adictivo. Entonces, ¿por qué 2/5★? Pues porque también me ha parecido una trama excesivamente simple y anacrónica. Las relaciones que mantiene la protagonista con cada uno de los personajes son un caos. Entiendo que va dirigida a adolescentes y creo que estos podrían llegar a sentirse identificados con distintos temas como la tecnología o la volubilidad de los sentimientos, no obstante sigue habiendo un problema: la relación es muy tóxica. Nuestra protagonista no se tiene ningún respeto, convierte los insultos en algo romántico y en este caso me parece peligroso, puesto que como he comentado con anterioridad, si los adolescentes se identifican con la historia cabría suponer que también vayan a interiorizar estas relaciones como algo "bonito". Respecto al sexo, la novela mantiene la tensión pero carece de escenas para +18. Por otra parte, el final me ha parecido apresurado y no está muy bien desarrollado. Y, finalmente, quería hacer mención a que el libro no se ha traducido al castellano, sino que la editorial ha mantenido el español latino de la autora. Personalmente, en este libro no me ha molestado, en otros sí soy más quisquillosa porque hay palabras que no coinciden y te pueden sacar de la lectura pero no ha sido el caso.

I read the free version on wattpad and I missed some (background) information e.g. Evan's POV but I saw that there is also his POV in the published book.

My Wattpad Love fue uno de los primero libros que leí de Wattpad, asi que siempre le voy a tener un cariño especial.
Si bien es verdad que no es uno de los mejores libros, también tengo que reconecer que es una lectura adictiva. El estilo de la autora es ágil y dinamico. Se lee muy rápido y la trama te va atrapando.
Un acierto muy grande de la autora fue el humor: me reí durante todo el trascurso del libro.
En cuanto a los personajes: Jules es una chica apasionada, enamorada del amor y fiel a sí misma. Aunque en un montón de situaciones yo no hubiera tomado las decisiones que tomó ella, se hizo un lugar en mi corazón. Y con respecto a Evan, el protagonista masculino, todo ese aura de chico malo y misterio te atrapa desde el principio. Me hubiera gustado ver un poco más definidas las personalidades de otros de los protagonistas.
En fin, My amor de Wattpad es una novela romantica que a pesar de todos sus cliché y sus giros, te entretiene y se disfruta mucho.
