I downloaded this screenplay after seeing all the publicity. After reading it, I saw the film. This version vectors off the original play by Rostand in that instead of Cyrano having a large nose, he is dwarf. Cyrano helps a fellow solider woo Roxanne, a beautiful young women who has reciprocal feelings. Cyrano is a well drawn character and Christian is believable. However, I wish I knew more about Roxanne. Maybe some hobbies or her feelings on war. The film was a musical. My favorite was the soldiers and their feelings before the battle. I enjoyed the balcony scene with Roxanne being wooed by Christian while Cyrano feeds him the lines. I would recommend this work for middle-school or high school audience.
