Humans aren’t as alone as they choose to believe. Every human possesses a trait of supernatural that lays dormant within their genetic make-up. Centuries of diluting and breeding have allowed humans to think they are alone and untouched by magic. But what happens when something changes?
He’s spent the last few years in hell fighting in the demon games and doing things that would haunt even the fiercest of men’s nightmares. But now Hunter Brooks is back in the human realm, ready to take on the Pack that left him behind…and take the mate he’s just met.
Becca Quinn is one of the seven lightning-struck women—a human who isn’t so human and only needs to find her true half to unlock all that she could be. Hunter, the dangerous, sexy wolf, has saved her life twice, and yet she knows nothing about him—only that she wants to know everything she can.
Between the Pack’s council and strangers who could take everything away from them, Becca and Hunter have more to fight and everything to fight for. Hunter’s dark past takes over their courtship, and just when he thinks all his lost, he’ll find that Becca’s more than he—or she—ever thought.
Warning: Contains a sexy wolf who broods with the best of them, a woman who defines the term unlucky, and a chemistry that’s sure to make the wolf howl in all of us.

This book was a really quick listen for me. The narrator does such a good job and we learn not only more about the main characters but it Dante as well. Which makes sense since his book is after this one. There wasn’t as much action in this one as in the last one but it wasn’t lacking for sure. It was also very spicy. And finding out that leprechauns were assholes didn’t surprise me at all. So I’m glad that was included in this book. Definitely a quick and gripping read.
Hunter a werewolf has been trapped in hell. Trapped in hell by pack mates, he has vengeance on his mind. When he secures his spot back as beta of the pack, he suspects that people on the council were the ones to trap him in hell. Now he just has to figure out how to prove it. When he met Becca, he knew she was his true half and she knew what he was going to be for her as well. Becca being a human with past issues, has made her cautious and she wants to go slow. Hunter wants to give her that, but events speed things along at a faster pace. When her life is put in danger, all bets are off and Hunter will kill anyone who wants to hurt her. As their bond grows, so do the problems with the pack. Becca, one of the women who were struck by lightening, has found her powers. With her new ability's, brings a new foe, who want her and will help Hunters enemies to reach their ultimate goal. Will Hunter and Becca get their Happily Ever After, or will luck not be on their side?
This is the continuing story of Dante's Circle (book 3). Hunter, we meet in hell when we meet Balin the demon and his 2 mates(book 2). He is a werewolf who has been thrown into hell by his own people. His brother is dead because he wasn't there. So he is a little pissed off. Becca being one of the women struck by lighting, knows the score. She knows who Hunter is and what he represents. The 2 are perfect for each other and once the figure that out they both jump in full tilt. Their bond only makes them stronger. I really enjoyed there story and I loved how we find out more about book 4 (Dante's story). The story line moves along at a fast pace and keeps you on your toes. Lots of action and steamy sex. Great read. This book is part of a series. It could be read as a stand alone but not recommended. There are things that happen in books 1 &2 that show you so much more of the characters. Thanks Carrie for the great read.

NUMBER OF STARS: 4 1/2 REVIEW: I have been patiently waiting for Hunter’s book since we met him in Her Warriors’ Three Wishes (bk 2). Okay not so patiently. I loved Hunter’s character even when he was trapped in hell. He was all gruff, stubborn and totally alpha. So I was extremely happy when I got an early copy of An Unlucky Moon.
Hunter & Becca know what they are to each other. But Hunter has things he needs to straighten out before he can claim Becca as his mate. Now that Hunter is ready to be mated, Becca has put the brakes on their relationship. Not to stop it but to slow down and learn more about each other. When Becca is kidnapped and left for dead Hunter is not taking it slow any more, he is determined to complete their bond. Lucky for him Becca is finally on the same page. Hunter and Becca are going to need to be on the same page. They are about to be tested like nothing before. They have enemies coming from all sides.
If you have read the first two books in the Dante’s Circle series you will know a little about Hunter & Becca’s history. But while I think you should start with book one Dust of My Wings, I think An Unlucky Moon can be read as stand alone. Now that I have had my Hunter fix I really really really need some Dragon love. Bring on Dante!!!
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review. Review will be posted at www.books-n-kisses.com .
Seven women, best friends, each unique in their own way, struck by freak lightning that changed their lives forever. One by one they will meet their destined true half and unlock their paranormal self. Lily has found her happily ever after with her warrior angel in Dust of my Wings. Jamie got her men in Her Warriors’ Three Wishes. Now it seems it is Becca’s turn.
Becca has known there is a strong link between herself and Hunter from the moment he saved her from being attacked. However, it is hard to claim your man when he keeps leaving you for long periods of time with no word of when he will be back. Fortunately, Hunter has decided that regardless of his Pack’s issues, he can’t wait any longer before claiming Becca as his true half. But of course nothing comes easy for these two. Becca and Hunter have to face not only conflicting wolves, but also the acceptance of Becca’s own people, once her paranormal self is finally unlocked. They will have to decide if a love pre-destined by Fate is worth fighting the odds in order to get their own Happily Every After.
With a hot alpha wolves that knows just when to pressure and when to sit back and let a woman take care of herself, how could you possibly go wrong? Ryan takes her unique world building ability to create a world for us filled with the unbelievable and makes us believe it.
The third book in the Dante’s Circle series lives up to its predecessors and continues to be a wild adventure with intrigue, romance, wolf shifters and leprechauns.
Hunter the beta for the local wolf pack escaped from hell to find his pack in shambles. Becca is one of the women struck by lightning and happens to be klutzy. When the two meet the chemistry is instant, but with everything going on can they accept what fate has in store for them. The portrayal of the emotions as Becca goes through her own personal transformation is well written and inspiring.
The intrigue and action in this book continues to build throughout as members of the wolf pack council try to take over and of course Hunter is in their way. Then Becca’s paranormal genes are triggered and she becomes a leprechaun and they find they have even more to worry about. The story is a fast paced wild adventure that flows smoothly from beginning to end.
With these strong characters and the vivid portrayal of this supernatural world, the reader is completely engaged in the drama as they sit on the edge of their seat waiting to see what happens next. More characters are introduced and of course the author intrigues the reader with peaks at our favorites’ lives, leaving us wanting to know more. I will be waiting impatiently for next chapter in this series.
I am soooo addicted to this series. Not only is each woman very different from each other making each book new and different, but the super hottie love interests are just as varied. I look forward to each new release from this series well before it is even written. This one was especially high on my wish list because I am a super shifter addict and fell in love with Hunter when he was first introduced to this wonderful world Carrie Ann has created.
Carrie Ann did not let me down. Not only is the love story between Hunter and Becca hot, romantic, fun, and filled with twists and turns as he takes back his place in the pack after being away from the human realm for so long, but we also get to see Becca come into her own. I always had a soft spot for her so watching her become the woman she was meant to be made me super happy. My favorite part of this book, however, had nothing to do with either of them and 100% to do with Dante. We got to learn so much more about my dragon shifter book boyfriend and as hard as it is to believe, I like him more then before.
You do not need to have read previous books in this series to understand and enjoy this one, but I know I enjoyed this one even more because I have been following the lives of these women through multiple books.
Another great story in the Dante's circle series. I loved Hunter in her Warrior's Three wishes and I was so anxious to read his story. I loved he and Becca together and man An Unlucky Moon was smokin' hot! I can't wait for the next book in the series, oh my Dante! and another triad! Yum.
* I would recommend reading the previous books, but seeing that there is a recap in this book it is not necessary.
After two very close brushes with death, Becca is ready to test the waters with her supposed true-half Hunter. But unrest in his werewolf pack and other matters keep him away from her and she is not sure if she can forgive him for that. Hunter has come back from hell, but the nightmare his pack is going trough is almost just as bad. And with Becca not being sure about their future, Hunter knows he cannot solve everything with pure muscle power.
This entry in the series was fine, nothing really entertaining and the writing is again very cheesy and shallow. We never really dive deeper into the stories or motivations and therefore I couldn't really connect to any of the characters. It also seems like there is no real overarching story, just individual stories that tie together a bit and the surprise to see what every woman turns into. To be honest, it starts to get a bit boring and not even the spicy scenes really make it better. We'll see if I will pick up the next books, for now I'm not really convinced.
This is the 3rd book in the Dante's Circle series and follows Hunter and Becca. Hunter is a wolf who we saw in the book about Jamie. He was betrayed and sent to hell where he fought in the demon games and just tried to survive. He finally gets back to the human realm and finds his mate, Becca. Little do they realize that they will still have to fight not only to be together but to survive! I always enjoy a book by Carrie Ann Ryan and this one was no exception. Hunter is this hot, alpha male who always tries to protect his mate but also to make sure she knows that she is loved. Becca is so much stronger than even she realizes and that is before they even know what the lightning has changed within her. The twists that this book takes and the set up for the next books in the series is great, as always! Great book!
This may be my favorite so far in the Dante's Circle series! Hunter and Becca's story was amazing and I loved that Hunter was a wolf. There was the right amount of angst and sex in this book that kept me reading late into the night. Hunter was such a strong alpha male but his love for Becca was incredible--and how much he would go through for her was amazing. I also loved how strong Becca was and what lengths she would go through to protect Hunter. I did miss the rest of the Dante's Circle crew and I really enjoyed the teaser about Dante and Nadie in this book and am looking forward to seeing how her story plays out as well. Great read!
I gave the series 2 books and 58% of the third. I regretfully gave up on it, because it was like I was reading the same book over and over again. Big Alpha male that is pussy whipped (deja vu with the first 2 books) by a heroine who can't stop complaining about how weak she is (deja vu again). Then the big bad species council decides to be elitist or downright sociopathic and decides to kill the heroine while because the hero pissed someone off. I am very tired of the internal monologue that just fills pages without any mean in it. I would have loved to read about Dante but the whole text crit with the mental rumblings have discouraged me. Meh.
After reading this, I am so bored with this series. Don't know why I finished it. It's clear this author has an outline and only names and places change. Plus time is wasted setting up for the 4th in the series which I will probably not read.
The difference is that Hunter is a werewolf and isn't that a trite name for one? Becca Quinn with an Irish name, is a leprechaun, of course, and female leprechauns are not cherished by male leprechauns.
Well, this is what you get with dragons, wolves, and ranges combined, a great story, Hunter and Becca's story intrigued me, it's fast-paced and full of mystery. The angst and characters are fantastic, definitely will try to get the rest. The audiobook narrated by the talented Gregory Salinas had me hooked, the narration is spot on, the characters and the emotions are all there, definitely worth getting it on audio.
This is the third Dante's Circle book in the series and Carrie Ann Ryan has done it again. She has dazzled and dazed with her loveable characters and funny word play. This is a must read for anyone who loves paranormal books, but above all it shows the heroine that over comes and comes out on top in the end. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
This is another fabulous addition to the Dante's Circle series. I love the interaction between Hunter and Becca - the development of their relationship as they learn about each other, and how they fit into each other's lives. As always a hot & sexy alpha male and a sassy heroine, plenty of fast paced action, drama, romance and sexy scenes.
What a concept this is. A lightning strike and your fated mate combined to change you into something else. I was rather fascinated by this story. Some twists just didn't work out the way I expected. I love when that happens. Plus the story is hot hot hot. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I freely leave this honest review.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I LOVE THIS AUTHOR!! An Unlucky Moon introduces a darker hero in Hunter, whose tortured past adds grit and gravitas. Becca’s journey from uncertainty to strength is satisfying, and their romance builds with growly intensity. The Pack dynamics bring new tension, and the emotional payoff is strong. There's a raw, protective energy that makes the stakes feel personal and real.
this is a great series which manages to mix romance and action. Life is definitely not dull for the seven friends who were struck by lightening as they one by one find their true mates and find out their destiny. Hunter and Becca are great together.
Another really well written book in the series; I didn’t connect as much because the female MC was kind of whiny, but I love the way this over arching series storyline is playing out! Can’t wait for the next book!
I loved watching Hunter and Becca fall in love. It didn't come easy and they had a lot to deal with. Hard to put this one down for sure!! Can't wait for the next book
Hunter's love for Becca really showed in this book. I'm glad they fought FOR each other instead of fighting each other. These lightning struck women really know how to kick ass though.
