Unnecessary DRAMA, I liked the idea of a poly relationship, the story had the potential to be a 5 star read but imo there was unnecessary drama just because. More time should have been spent on the relationship dynamic and them navigating it. Instead time was spent on family drama. She didn't have the best relationship with her family, it irritated me that they keep saying she was running away from her problems. What problems? She not obligated to have or maintain a relationship with family especially if they mean her no good. And work drama. Rhe female being childish towards one of the guys because he took her job as it was his fault.

Sheesh 🥵

There was steamy, drama, love and a few laughs in this book. It shined a light on not just polygamy but also harassment in the work place, as well as insecurities in men and women. I loved how Brianna had separate relationships with Bryson and Derrick but babeee when the three of them were together, hot! In my opinion this story could potentially change some people's negative ideas when it comes to polygamy. Can't wait to see what this author gives us next.

*sighs* I really wanted this to be a 4 or 5 star read. At the beginning of the story it seemed like it was going to be but unfortunately as we all know when things start going too well expect BS to come around the corner. I feel like this story had too much drama. I was expecting a book about 3 people becoming a triad and trying to maneuver through that but I felt the drama took over the story. I love Bryson and Derek. They were great. Everything you want in a male character. My problem is with Brianna. I liked her up until she lost her promotion to Derek(he didn't know anything about it). She had a right to be upset for being overlooked because of misogyny but she was taking her frustration out on Derek. He didn't do anything wrong yet she's acting like a child throwing hissy hits at him instead of the man who overlooked her to be spiteful. She's almost 30 acting like a child. It was a major turn off for me for her character. On top of that she just came with too much baggage. She has a dysfunctional relationship with her father and instead of going to therapy to work through her issues she runs from it. Even the end of the book puts a happy bow on the relationship like she hasn't had issues since the beginning. One thing I liked is her decision to not have kids(at least now) because she knows she has issues. That was the most mature thing she's done the whole story. Derek also had a dysfunctional family unit but the difference between him and Brianna is he doesn't have baggage about it and let it rule his life. I wanted to love this story so much because I was excited to see a poly black love romance. There's not a lot of them out there so I was eager to read it. Unfortunately this story had promise but didn't stick the landing. My hope is that the author will try writing a poly romance again one day but doesn't let unnecessary drama get in the way and take center page instead of the couples relationship. Focus more on them as poly relationship and keep all the soap opera drama and baggage out of it. Especially if you're not even going to write your character going to therapy and work out their issues. 3/5 stars.

Wish I’d liked it better

I put off reading this story for weeks, only to start it last night and be very disappointed ☹️. Besides this story being a bit boring and all over the place.. The story starts with Brianna alone drinking and crying.. she goes to a bar for dinner and that’s where she meets Derek and Bryson. Not sure why multiple women are her job was ok with Dan’s harassment and treatment of them.. that $hit was crazy! He would have been got exposed, humiliated, and I would have sued the company for liability. And also Derek was a punk and did nothing in the way to take up for Brianna when Dan humiliated her on multiple occasions at work! Besides all that this story just didn’t click got me. I felt disconnected from the characters despite many of the sex scenes being steamy.

I also didn’t like the implication that Brianna was portrayed as this broken women with fast issues, which is why she fell into this type of relationship. Almost as if you have to have daddy issues to be ok with this type of lifestyle. That’s not right.

I really wanted to love this book, however, the amount of drama really killed the story for me. Brianna was amazing in the beginning and I also enjoyed the discussion about having children. However, her family drama was ridiculous and I can understand why she kept running away from her family. Especially finding out that she has a sibling and her partners did not even know she was dealing with all that family drama was just sad. I also want to note that I had expectations of the book so it is influencing my rating. I thought the book was going to focus heavily on Brianna, Derek and Bryson relationship and how they work together. So, I was disappointed when the family drama took so much of the book. As for the workplace situations, it was fair that Brianna was angry for continuously being overlooked and ridiculed. However, the way she acted with Derek was understandable but how they made up was kinda underwhelming. The smut scenes were always amazing. I also enjoyed Derek and Bryson and how secure they were in their decisions! They really did treat Brianna like the queen she was and it just felt nice to read them enjoy her company. I will continue to read the rest of the author’s books!

Double trouble, double love

This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed it so much. I loved how the author showed the flaws in each character and that they still had growing to do to heal completely. I also loved how the story of this throuple was well developed and her focus was more on their love story instead of only being about the sex. The story showed a partnership and how it can work out for those involved. Bryson and Derek were amazing. There were moments I didn’t like Brianna but hysterical just highlights her imperfections and relatability as a women who has been hurt and needs to heal. But she accepted their love and grew as a result.

Loved it

Brianna doesn’t expect to find love when she walks into Bar 36, but neither to Derek and Bryson. But can they all forgive each others’ past and move on to the future?

I love a good triad, and I think this one was really well done. I loved that the characters were very human and willing to work through their issues both with their families and themselves. I will say that Bryson was the most well-adjusted, and it was a little weird that he had insecurity issues, but he had to have some kind of conflict.

I recommend this one to people who like black romance, triads, and healthy relationships. It was a great read.

what a woman!

I don’t know what I was expecting when I started this story, but Brianna, Derek, and Bryson were not it! I enjoyed this love unconventional love story. I was a bit wary of “Double Trouble “ thought maybe this was some game they were playing. I loved that these two black men were comfortable in who they were and so willing to loving one woman. Brianna deserved all the love they were so open to give her. There were some moments where I was confused in who was talking but I throughly enjoyed the book overall.

This seemed like the longest book ever. It wasn't my favorite, but I did like Bryson's character. Even though he had some insecurities and needed constant reassurance, his character made the most sense to me.
I couldn't get the rest of the story to make sense in my imaginary world. There was a lot of extra chaos in the book that wasn't warranted/needed/necessary. I also thought everyone was a little off - which may be a contradiction to this review because maybe the story does make sense... haha!
I don't know, this just didn't do it for me.

A different way to love

Wow, this story was different but in a good way. You rarely if ever hear stories of women having more than one man that isn’t cheating. Their relationship was mature, open and consensual and Bryson and Derek lived their lives unapologetically. I also loved how they poured into Brianna and supported her in every aspect of her life. Some past wounds were tended to and families came full circle. I really enjoyed the book.

- MFM
- Black main characters
- polyamory
I loved the characters in this. I loved how Derek and Bryson were comfortable in their own sexuality they didn’t mind sharing Brianna. But one thing I didn’t like about this book was it was in 3rd person so I was getting kinda confused on who was talking so I’d have to go back and re read and I don’t like that. But overall I enjoyed the book it was HOT I was over here crossing my legs abs shii WOOO

complete. full. enough

I hope people looked passed the “threesome” of the story and realized this is such a great love story for a a woman that felt alone and not enough for anyone. She need these two men to love her in order for her to feel complete. Full and to know that she is enough. I loved this story. Highly recommend for the open-minded.

i loved this way more than i thought i would, i’ve only read a few books about poly relationships but this has to be one of the best, there wasn’t a power grab between the men and she wasn’t choosing favorites everyone was equal. Their relationship was easy and full of so much love.

There was drama but it was all understandable drama and the spice >>>>

Three is definitely not a crowd!!!

My very first time reading this genre and to say that I was more than pleasantly surprised, entertained, and intrigued would be an understatement. I couldn’t stop reading, it was just that good. Well, I guess the saying is true, “Don’t knock it until you try it!!” I highly recommended this book🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Woman Enough

I love that this was such a different storyline. I never saw this perspective of a poly relationship and it was refreshing. Bri had so many issues to work through and at times she was too timid to be true to herself and other times she was strong as heck😊 They fell hard and fast!

Beautiful Why Choose

This is a beautiful why choose story. Although Brianna pissed me off in the beginning, I loved her evolution and growth. My only issue is at times I was very confused at who was speaking. I had to read some areas several times to figure it out. Overall, a great story with some unexpected twist.

I won’t give spoilers, but what I will say is this: I was not expecting this story to go the places it went. It was spicy spicy but the story was just as intriguing and very emotional. I loved it.

High hopes

I was definitely expecting something more when I read the polyamory synopsis. I wished it focused more on their relationship dynamics and not soo much the daily drama and trauma. The story just dragged and it there was problem after problem.
