This is book ten of the Veterans in Alaska series and the main characters are Eileen and Lance. Eileen has moved to Virgin Falls, Alaska, to take up a new post as a teacher, but also to look for her birth mother, after finding out only six months ago, on her adoptive mother’s death bed, the true identity and location of her birth mother, Mara. Her adoptive mother had lied to her all her life about not knowing her mother and had held a letter written to her, all these years, without giving it to her! The first place she stops at in town to get something to eat after her journey from Seattle, leaves her attracted to one of the other customers who is sitting at a table with friends. The barman finds out she is starting work at the local school and calls over the very man she had been ogling, Lance, an electrician and also in charge of the maintenance at the school. He finds out form the barman, Elijah another friend that she is staying at one of the cabins another friend owns!
She ends up asking for his help at school, to fix some desks in her class. Her search for her birth mother leads her to a local resident, thought to know everybody in town. The woman she visits turns out to be Lance’s next door neighbour and someone who knows Lance well. He gets made fun of by his mates, all of who are already loved up, leaving him as the last of their group to be alone. He can’t get her out of his mind and chops wood to keep himself occupied. She tells him about why she is really in town, to find her birth mother, but they have an instant and steamy connection. He professes his love for her far too soon, which almost brings things to an end. But first she needs to face her birth mother and see whether she can connect with her and find out some answers to the many questions she has. She may have found her mother, but it is another thing to accept all those new emotions as well as face a new life in a new town and meeting a handsome man! His main worry is whether she will remain in town once she has finally met her mother, or if she will be moving on. He has given his heart and realises that he wants her to be his forever! A new life is available for both of them if only they allow it to happen. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

This is book ten of the Veterans in Alaska series now each book can read as a standalone but why when the series so far has been great. Sometimes your past connects you to who you are and until you know your past it’s like a piece of you is missing. Eileen was adopted asked her adoptive parents about her biological parents of course they told her they didn’t know anything most of her life she has felt different or that something was missing but learning that her biological mother reach out and refused by her adoptive parents was new to her. Learning of this new piece of information has Eileen moving to Virgin Falls after accepting a teaching job only to find her biological mother. Lance sexy as all get out electrician/maintenance man who works at the school meets the most beautiful women on her first day in his town and something shifts the air is thicker than usual. The attraction is instant and intense working around each other allows them to get to know one another Lance knows she is holding something back but also wanting her to trust him enough to tell him about what’s on her mind. Will she find her mother, her family, will she stay in this small town with the man of her dreams or go back home to the big city, and can they find happiness together with her biological family?

'Lance' by Emily Evans is the tenth book in her Veterans in Alaska series and tells the story of Eileen, a new teacher at school, and Lance, head of the school's maintenance department. Eileen was adopted as a child and whenever she asked her parents about herabout her biological parents parents they always said they had no information. However, while her mother was dying she told Eileen that her biological mom, Mara, had written letter stating that she would like to meet Eileen. She also told her where she could find the letter thus Eileen took the job as a teacher in order to try to get to know Mara. When Lance and Mara met the first night she came into town there was an instant attraction between them. As they got to know each other while working at school their feelings got stronger.

Ms. Evans has written a dynamic addition to her series. The chemistry between Eileen and Lance is steamy. Although this book is short it is well written with great characters, witty dialogue, and an interesting plot. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes a quick but satisfying read with their glass of wine.

Lance : A Mountain Man Curvy Woman Romance is a well written quick read. Eileen moves to Virgin Falls as the new teacher and to search for her biological mother whom she has just found out about. Eileen pulls into town rather late and stops at a bar for something to eat. One man immediately catches her attention, although Eileen gives no sign of how affected she is by him. Much to their mutual delight, the bartender introduces Eileen to Lance. As Eileen and Lance keep encountering each other, it becomes harder to deny the attraction between them. When the relationship between Lance and Eileen becomes physical, the pace of the story really picks up. If you like stories with emotional depth where the protagonists deal with real life issues, you will enjoy Lance.

Eileen comes to Virgin Falls for a job and to look into her family. Eileen was adopted when she was a baby and never knew that her biological mom had reached out but her adopted parents refused contact. Lance works as an electrician and maintenance at the school. Lance meets Eileen on her first day in town. They have an instant connection. Will Eileen share with Lance about the other reason she came to town? Will she find what she's looking for?

This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Reconnecting . . .

Why did her adoptive parents never give Eileen the name of her biological mother? Apparently her mother had tried to contact her, but Eileen was never told. Now she is heading for Alaska to accept a teaching assignment and to locate her mother. She meets a man there and starts wondering if she will stay in Virgin Falls even after she finds her mom.

Lance also works at the school as their electrician and the person in charge of maintenance. He talks with Eileen and realizes that he feels a strong attraction to her already. He kind of hopes that she will stay. Will he get his wish? Will the two of them find a HEA as Eileen gets to meet her family and put down her own roots?

Virgin Falls has a lot to offer Eileen Davies- a new teaching job, finding her birth mother but what she did not expect was to meet the maintenance manager of the school- Lance!

It is an instant attraction for both and eventually they can't keep their hands off each other!
Lance supports her in her quest to find her biological mother but he knows her stay might not be permanent- a thought that bothers him as he is falling for the curvaceous goddess!

Will Eileen allow herself to let Lance in her heart as well as her birth mother?
Will Lance let the curvy goddess slip through his fingers?

A short fast paced insta love that will leave you breathless!

First things first; I like the cover of this book!
Lance is the tenth book in the ‘’veterans in Alaska’’ series.
This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. When Eileen moves to a small town to find her biological mother, will she also find love?
The chemistry between Lance and Eileen is clear to see and I liked them together.
I liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.

Virgin Falls hold many things for Eileen, a new job and a mother she never met. Lance is ex-military and has been in Virgin Falls for the last couple years, arriving there after making a promise to a fallen brother. Lance is drawn to Eileen the moment she walks into the bar, but can it work?

Eileen is on an emotional journey, her life in the last six months has been in turmoil, with loss if her adopted mother, a letter from her birth mother and finding the love and support she never expected.

Eileen was adopted and her biological mother tried to contact her but the adoptive parents refused. So now she has the name of her biological mother and is looking for her. This is where she meets Lance and it is an instant attraction. As with all stories there is more than that to this story. The characters are wonderful and the chemistry is there. Will she stay in Virgin Falls or will she leave? This is just a fabulous story.

What a beautiful love story

I didn't know what title line to use with this book. It's a beautiful story of a young woman, Eileen, going to Alaska to teach and search for her biological mother. She finds that and more when she meets Lance. I'm an old softy when kids look for their biological parents, so yes it brought on a few tears. Read how everything goes for all of them. Written by Cindy :)

She walks into the bar that he and his friends are at and it is instant attraction. She finds her bio mom and why she was given up. It has a bit of drama to the story.

A quick paced short romance when Lance meets the new school teacher Eileen. Storyline has a good base that could easily been developed a little further. Felt that this was rushed just a bit, in order for the storyline to wrap up all nice and neat. I did enjoy the HEA.

This is another good, short read set in AK.
She's looking for answers.
And she found a new job.
The same place where he works.
But in order to make her relationship work with him, she has to settle her mind about what happened in the past.
What will win, her heart or her heartbreak about the past?
Great interconnected series. Love seeing the other characters come out in these books.
