Part of me wishes the Scabbards could have won against Kaido. They had a lot of dramatic backing in the fight, and it'd have given someone other than Luffy the spotlight for a change... not to mention cutting this stretchy padded story-arc a bit closer. Meanwhile, Luffy could've duked it out with Big Mom.
But it's ever been Luffy's place to take up on the burdens and dreams of others. To pick up the fight when his allies prove to be too weak. To finish what they started.
Besides, if he went for Big Mom, then what would Law and Kid have spent the time doing? Nothing else left for them to fight.

Amo one piece, tiene un par de altibajos pero nunca seré objetiva con este anime xd bueno la única parte que nunca me ha gustado es lo de Foxy xd como quería que solo fuese relleno del anime jajaj pero en fin, aunque en ocasiones me haga enojar mis 5 estrellitas siempre estarán para este maravilloso manga ❤️

Al fin me pongo al día con one piece, claro que todavía me quedan los capítulos que van saliendo semanalmente, pero estoy muy feliz de haber llegado hasta acá. Wano me esta gustando muchísimo y se esta convirtiendo en uno de mis arcos favoritos (por no decir mi favorito) Estoy muy feliz de haber llegado hasta acá y de poder seguir viajando con luffy y su tripulación, mis queridos mugiwara.

¡SUNACCHI!
Este tomo está repleto de momentazos épicos en relación a los Vainas Rojas y Kaido. La batalla donde vengarán a su señor ha comenzado de la mejor manera posible. Además, se han abierto nuevos frentes igual de emocionantes, como la cabeza que ha salido volando, Yamato protegiendo a Momo, un cambio de bando inesperado, Queen y su macabro juego de los Onis de hielo y Big Mom de nuevo siendo humillada por Oda.
Hace más de un año, cuando leí por primera vez estos capítulos, les hubiera dado 5 estrellas sin dudarlo, pero, como ya sé la de capitulazos que se vienen, estos se me quedan un poco flojos. Es más, el estilo de dibujo de Oda en algunos capítulos me ha parecido algo cutre comparado con el increíble arte al que nos tiene acostumbrados.
Aun así, la guerra de Onigashima no decae en intensidad. El disfrute, la emoción y que Oda nos explote la cabeza están garantizados en los siguientes capítulos, por lo que a seguir gozando de esta maravilla de historia.
Pd: desde el capítulo 1035 veo a King con otros ojos y sus breves apariciones no hacen más que encantarme.

This one was quite epic as it takes the fight straight to Kaido and his men, Luffy and others walk in and they battle different foes and they have to deal with the emergence of Big Mom but the way Luffy takes care of her is incredible and there is this amazing sequence where Yamato also teams up with other crew members to fight. Also the nine vassals of Oden fight Kaido in his dragon form and its glorious seeing it, the after images of Oden basically and how they are taking him down. In another areas, betrayals and surprise additions happen. This fight is becoming epic as its just non stop one awesome moment after another, meanwhile the strawhats are fighting enemies Left and Right!

WANO COUNTRY ARC - PART 8
1. orochi being beheaded was too nice of a death for him, just how kanjuro's death was too kind
2. i just noticed that kaido doesn't have any eyebrows
3. if i were in momo's place, would i lie or say my name? i don't know. i'd like to believe i would be as brave as him, but the chances that kaido doesn't let you live, even if you lie, is very high, so might as well stand for your principles and your name, right?
4. izo went from samurai with a sword to a samurai with guns, i like that
5. the spirit of oden lives on, the entire retinue carry on his legacy, genuinely what a beautiful moment - and the fact that they've been holding off kaido for so long is actually really impressive
6. so is zeus like a pet, or like a prisoner? because alongside big mom or nami, this guy is just getting hurt if he doesn't comply LMFAO
7. STEALTH BLACKKKKKKKKKKK (just let me say again that that maroon black suit of sanji's is to die for)
8. climbing to the top of the building while enemies intercept them throughout on the floors reminds me of spongebob and the karate building island
9. i kind of don't like this whole "i'm kazuki oden" thing from yamato; to all the people who religiously followed him, this is kind of...tactless and weird. nobody can emulate him, nobody can become like oden. it's okay if you wanna be a man like oden because he inspired you so much, but to run around saying you're oden and telling his son that you're his father is mega weird, but i respect the loyalty as the enemy's son

This is a great series, but oh boy this arc really grinds my gears. All of that hype from Oda for years and years for it to follow the exact same pattern as at least five other arcs. I was not very impressed. Big Mom's character has been pretty much assassinated, which is a real shame to see. And Kaido kills absolutely nobody. How on Earth did all of the scabbards survive? Oda, come on. You had the perfect chance to at LEAST kill Kinemon. But nope. We get another Pell situation. Please spare me that nonsense, Oda. I beg. Kaido achieves nothing at all. This was a very bloated arc that did not at all earn its length. It was extraordinarily long but follows a very recognizable pattern in Oda's storytelling. The begging, middle, and end can all be predicted beforehand with relative ease. This arc has actually made me worry for how this manga will end and whether Oda can truly stick the landing.
Oda has yet to top Marineford. I thought Wano might at least match it. It did not. But the key thing is that Oda thought it would. He also, for some reason, said the same about Dressrosa (Although I think that was a great arc, it aint no Marineford). It has become very obvious that even Oda himself does not know why Marineford was so iconic. He just does not understand the pinacle of his own writing. This is what scares me.

The Wano climax continues to build. Like the previous volume its still too complicated for its own good with Oda Sensei adding even more backstories (Yamato) this late into the arc, introducing even more Kaido henchmen (some of whom are defeated on the same page they are introduced on). The result is this is an overstuffed volume where the story almost slows to a crawl to keep cutting away to the various subplots, which makes other sections suffer (i.e., Kanjuro the traitor is evidently defeated offscreen). Honestly I kind of got more out of the storyline in the Cover Story series where Chiffon and Lola reunite with each other and their dad.
Still I think I liked this volume more than the last one due to some more satisfying moments. Seeing the Akazaya Nine samurai being able to wound Kaido in the name of Oden was a great moment, the only reason they can’t defeat him being this is not their series (although as I said Wano should be a separate story) but Luffy’s. Likewise epic was Momonosuke’s tearful defiance in the face of death and Brook and Franky saving Nami and getting hits in on Big Mom (which was simultaneously funny and heartfelt). And of course Orochi getting decapitated was a satisfying moment although I have my doubts it’ll stick.
In the end I still think Wano is too much of a mess at the start of its final(?) act especially compared to previous One Piece saga’s climaxes. But this volume is a step back in a good direction.

big mom and kaido announced that they're going for the one piece to find the ancient weapons. kaido wants to make wano become a “lawless area” and when orochi refused, he was stabbed by kaido. kaido renames wano to “new onigashima” and appointed yamato as shogun. after a clash with kiku, kanjuro was badly injured. each clan started to serve kaido.
oden's retainers stabbed kaido.
today is a full moon. the minks transformed into sulong. zeus was taken away by big mom.
drake suddenly wants to fight alongside straw hat. hawkins pretended that drake was the one who released law instead of himself. everyone's telling luffy to not accept drake, but luffy nonchalantly agreed. kinemon's blaze slice can cut through kaido's blast breath. O.O

Kaido and Big Mom want to get the One Piece. I don't know why that is a revelation, but it is treated as such. Furthermore, Kaido kills Orochi, but due to the legend of Orochi, I don't think he is quite finished yet. If I recall, Orochi was like the Hydra from Greek legends. You had to kill all his heads at once or something. Momonosuke escapes with Sanji's help, but King and Queen both prevent Luffy from getting to the roof.
Finally, Queen and Basil Hawkins discover that X Drake is a Special Agent and try to kill him. So Drake gets Luffy to help him out and switches sides.
When I started to read and review all the volumes of One Piece last year, I didn't think it would take me this long to get to this point. It's been a long journey full of adventure, laughter, and tears. Looking to the older chapters brings me back to when I was first reading One Piece online.
I never brought this up, but when I first started to skip ahead online, Oda was only at Enies Lobby. That was, what, chapter 330 or something? In any case, here's hoping that Wano ends soon. I think Luffy is going to find the rest of the Road Ponegliffs, and he will eventually have to face Blackbeard and Shanks. I don't know which order he will go in, but it will probably be cool. Maybe he has to save some of the former Warlords.

Kaido announced his plans; he allied with Big Mom to get the Ancient Weapons and the One Piece. They will increase weapon factories and bring Onigashima to the Flower Capital. Orochi trying to oppose but Kaido decapitated his head. Wano will known as New Onigashima and Yamato will be the Shogun.
Akazaya 9 defeated Kanjuro and his troops and the back entrance. Akazaya 9 went into Kaido's castle and stabbed him to save Momonosuke. Luffy announced an all-out war is starting. Kaido turned to dragon and fly up to the rooftop along with the Akazaya 9.
Sanji saved Momonosuke. Shinobu and Yamato run with Momonosuke. Franky, Brook, Jinbe and Robin fights with Big Mom and they managed to throw Big Mom out from the castle. All the members of Straw Hat Pirates gathered at the center of the live floor
King summoned the Tobi Roppo to join the battle. Queen and Hawkins caught X Drake as a betrayer. Drake escaped and asked Luffy to join forces. Queen used Ice Demon, a virus that can turned the victims into freezing demon. Apoo have athe antidote.
At the rooftop, Kin'emon, Denjiro, Ashura Doji and Inuarashi used Oden Niitoryu to inflict damaged to Kaido's wound. Kaido used wind scythes to cut off Kiku's left arm.

Random users of MangaPlus surely know better than Oda himself regarding whether or not Yamato is a boy or a girl. Regardless, Yamato has nice, fat titties.
Anyway, there's a lot of HYPE here, in a way that really makes Kaidou feel like the final boss, but he won't be, because the manga is dozens of chapters ahead of his defeat as of the time of this writing. So we'll see if Oda can surpass himself, which... he likely will.
I still don't really care too much for any of Oden's men, and right now as they battle Kaidou they're taking page-time away from the Straw Hats and other actual pirates. In a manga about pirates. Like, Kidd doesn't do shit this entire volume. Or Law, really. Kind of hope some of the samurai will die soon so we can have more of an excuse to see Kidd, Law, Drake, and Killer do some shit.

A solid volume but one that is just battle so entertaining and epic but not much substance there... I definitely enjoy the build up to the big battles and the world building more than the fights chapters.

Great volume! The dramatic climax especially in the moments of the Akazaya Nine vs Kaifo were really well placed and drawn amazingly….! Really wish it could be them to take Kaido down..
