There is no safe place in the world anymore, especially for women. For several decades, the birth rate of females has been declining. Militants, the government, and private citizens alike will do anything to find young women and force them into unthinkable arrangements.

Against the darkness of this world stand The Wanderers—a secret society born to provide sanctuary for anyone who believes in free will and democratic notions. Their numbers are growing and their citizens live in safe, hidden compounds.

Serve and obey your husband. The Republic has drilled this command into Haley for the fourteen years she’s lived in a home for girls. Now that she’s standing at the altar about to marry an aristocrat she’s never met, Haley fears what those words could mean once she’s at the mercy of her new husband.

Braylon, Riggs, and Storm had always planned to escape The Republic someday. When Braylon meets the sweet, beautiful wife he’s expected to rule, he knows he could never harm her, including claiming her innocence. He’s not alone—Riggs and Storm are just as enamored with her. When Braylon’s mother decides her daughter-in-law hasn’t conceived fast enough for her taste, the three must find a way to get Haley to safety. The time to escape is now.

Rush was living with The Wanderers for three years when he was kidnapped and taken by The Republic. His new home: a holding cell in the basement of some aristocrats. His new job: father a baby against his will. When Rush meets Braylon and the others, he offers them a way out. Can they trust him? The trip will be long and dangerous, but they will risk it all to protect Haley. The first taste of freedom is the sweetest.

There will be challenges along the way. Militants are everywhere just waiting to attack men and capture women for their own. Haley may be surrounded by men who would move mountains to save her, but she’s got news for them: if they want to earn her love, they’re going to have to stop coddling her and let her fight alongside them.

A simply riveting read, wonderful characters and a excellent storyline
This story continues in the new world that has now become a place where humans have no safety, they have no where at all they can remain to rest their head they are constantly on the run trying to avoid capture.
There is supposed to be a sanctuary if a human is able to reach a place a sanctuary where the Wanderers stand providing a space where humans are able to allow their free will to thrive and themselves to survive.
Haley has never known freedom as she has been secured in a home for girls since the age of fourteen years old and she knows that her life is tenuous and that her life could be struck out at any moment and knows that her life will never be her own unless she is able to escape their shackles.
Rush had been kidnapped from the Wanderers and it is fair to say that others will be happy to discover to see if it will allow them to find their location but whilst he is held by the Republic he meets Haley, Bray, Storm and Riggs. He sees the love that Hayley’s three men have for her and yet they cannot remain together. To keep Hayley safe, they have to plan an escape and the danger and the various hardships and heartfelt pain and anguish they feel in insurmountable
I do not want to spoil the read for others by giving away any thing that will spoil the read for other so will leave my review here. Shelter features the most patient men yet in Jameson’s dystopian world where women have almost no rights and are kept as breeders. It also gives readers a view into the privileged communities of this future Earth, where rules are rigidly enforced around that role of women.

The heroine Haley is an interesting character. She’s spent her life sheltered in a “girls’ home” where young girls are raised and trained in only the most basic of “feminine” skills in order to mold them into complacent wives for this brutal time. Luckily, she ends up married to Braydon, who with his friend Riggs and guard Storm are willing to give Haley a chance to grow as a person rather than enforcing that expected future as a perfect wife and mother on her. The tie back to the Wanderers is made when Rush, the doctor abducted in the previous book of this series, is made a part of Haley’s group by an unexpected action.

Jameson gives a far more expanded picture of the Wanderers world in Shelter; by seeing how the rich and entitled live, she also sends a message that keeping to the status quo is enforced at all levels of this society and that the need for something different exists at all levels of this dystopian future. The role of the girls’ home where Haley was raised is even more mysteriously expanded in this book, which makes me wonder where future books will go in exploring that.

So I loved a lot of things about Shelter. But I did struggle with how long Haley’s men went without adding anything physical to their relationship. It seemed unduly long to me, particularly considering the understanding that this was her sole purpose in their society. That made the men a tad too perfect to me, and therefore a bit unreal in that they were all equally wonderful in all ways throughout this book.

But the expansion of the world is greatly done in Shelter, and I can’t wait to see where this story moves next!

If you have been reading this series, you'll remember Rush was taken by the Republic. He thought they wanted a doctor, but he's been locked up. Now he's been sold and locked up again. This time in a cell of an aristocratic home.

At the age of six, Hailey was captured by the Republic and been put into a girl's home to learn what would be expected of her as a Republic wife. That was 14 years ago. She never met her husband before the ceremony that made her his wife, all she knew was what was expected of her.

Braylon fell for Hailey the moment he saw her, as did his two best friends Riggs and Storm. Braylon won't force himself on her and with his friends is looking for a way for all of them to escape from the rules and restrictions of the Republic.

It's been six months since they wed and now there is the expectation of a child. This is a problem since Braylon and Hailey haven't consummated their marriage. What he didn't realize is that someone who kind of looks like him is locked in the basement and is the one who will be donating for the conception.

It's these circumstances that leads Storm to actually converse with Rush. Especially after the doctor has his visit with Hailey.

Once Rush meets Braylon and Riggs they start planning their escape in earnest.

Help comes in an unexpected way and the four of them start an arduous journey. One that is both emotional and physical.

I love the twists and turns as these characters grow in this tale. Hailey is far stronger than any of them expected and all of them grow to love her even more.

There's adventure, action, romance and plenty of sizzle. I can't wait for the next book!

Haley was raised in the orphanage with other girls waiting be sold to the elite of for breeding. When her time comes, shes terrified about what to expect from her husband and living outside of the only place she’s known for years. Lucky for her, she found what could be the last good men on the earth to help save her.

Braylon never wanted a wife. He and his best friends Riggs and Storm want to leave their confines to be free. They may live among the elite of society, but they are bound by archaic rules and strict governing by his mother. When he marries Haley, they’re pressured to start making babies, but he just can’t bring himself to violate someone so naive and inexperienced regardless of what his mother wants…but then he doesn’t expect his mother to buy someone else to do the deed.

Rush was kidnapped months ago while on a run for The Wanderers. He thought he was taken for his medical experience, but no..he is wanted to impregnate Haley. When he forges a connection with Braylon, Riggs, Storm, and Haley they all set out to escape and find The Wandrers. Trouble and danger abound, but freedom has a price.

I didn’t realize we were getting a Rush story, so I was surprised that the series was continuing. I loved that we found Rush and brought him back to the fold. I swear, the men all had the patience of Job when it came to Haley. Watching her gain experience (sexual and life) and come into her own, was great to see.

Great story..Im definitely hoping for more.

Shelter takes us for yet another visit to the dystopian society of The Republic. A place where women's only purpose is to serve her husband and to procreate. This holds true even among the aristocracy. When having children becomes a race and bragging rights becomes the overarching reason, three best friends realize that now is the time to make good on their long time plan to escape.

Haley is a bought and paid for bride for Braylon. She's frightened by her new circumstance, naive and compliant but most of all innocent. Fortunately, her new husband Braylon understands that immediately and treats her accordingly. Along the way his two best friends, Riggs and Storm, develop feelings for Haley while they watch over and protect. Rush was kidnapped and sold not for his medical talents but to be a sperm donor. He convinces the three friends that he can help them along with Haley get to the safe haven of the Wanderers. It's an arduous journey and not without it's dangers but along the way the four men school Haley in the pleasures of sex. She in turn loses her reticence, develops a backbone and becomes a force to be reckoned with. She announces or rather insists who her family will be and refuses to accept anything less. Rush, Braylon, Riggs and Storm have no choice but to happily comply.

Another great read by Becca Jameson in the series The Wanderers. "Shelter" is the fourth book in the series and I was drawn in from the very beginning with different emotions. The Republic is not a very nice place for women. If girls are born into families they are taken at the age of twelve and sent to these schools to teach them to be the perfect wife. In other words how to be quiet, sew, everything a woman needs to learn to be seen but not heard. Haley was one of these women. She was taken from her family when she was six years old. When she turned twenty she was bought to marry Braylon. Braylon is different, he wanted to get to know Haley, he wants her to have a choice, so the next six months they got to know each other and fell in love along with Braylon's friends Riggs and Storm. Then something happens with a decision being made by Braylons mother. This pushed the four of them along with Rush, who is a prisoner, to escape. To learn with decision and what happens next I believe as a reader you should find out yourself. I highly recommend this book.

I was given an advanced reader copy this book for my honest review.

DANG! This series keeps getting better with every book. i loved it and did not put it down. In this book we see what it is like for the aristocrats that want to be free to chose. Those who are against the Republic and are waiting for the opportunity to escape. Haley is sold to an aristocrat for marriage but not everything is that simple. Her new husband refuses to rape her and he, along with Riggs and Storm, have fallen in love with her and know they need to escape. In comes Rush, abducted while on a medical run, now forced to do something against his will. Is he the answer the guys need?
There is an HEA and oh how I loved the journey. There were close calls, danger, heat, and a trust between all of them that just felt right. However now there are sooooo many questions that need to be answered and I cannot wait for the next book to see what unfolds.

This is the 4th book in the series and while it helps if you know a bit of the backstory, it's not essential and this book can be read as a standalone with it's own HEA. Normally by book 4 in a series I'm starting to get a bit bored with the premise. All of the books start to feel like the same and the characters are fairly interchangeable. Not with Shelter though. This book commences at a point that hasn't been seen yet in the series and continues in that vein all the way through. New characters (although we had briefly met Rush in a previous book) new situations, new things to overcome before we get to the happy. I loved that most of the action took place away from the safe place and the characters had to work together, trusting each other, before they could get to Shelter.

I loved this story! It restores faith in humanity, even if it is a small portion of this new society.

Bray, OMG, his heart is HUGE! Really, all of Haley's men's hearts are huge.

I loved how they were so accepting of Rush! And, Rush, he truly was amazing! Willing to separate himself from this family unit!

You go Haley! I loved how you stood up and told these men how it would be!!!

Ms. Jameson keeps this reader intrigued with the trials and tribulations, the hardships, and the redeeming men of The Wanderers and now a few from The Republic!

So Good!

Rush has been living with the Wanderers for 3 years now when in Harbor he was kidnapped and now we get to see what happened to him and where he's been. The Republic has taken him and kept him prisoner where he meets Haley, Bray, Storm and Riggs the three guys have loved Haley but can't be together. The four work a plan to escape and head to the compound and safety. There's twists and turns, hardships, danger, and Haley finally standing up for herself and all of them becoming one family and showing us there's still good out there. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Hayley is raised in a home, sold to the Elite, given to their son Braylon as wife to produce children. Braylon likes his wife as do Haley’s bodyguard and his best friend. Braylon’s mother think’s of Haley as a purchase not as a human being. Their can be no show of affection between the two. Braylon’s mother is tired of waiting for a pregnancy. This is the Very Basic Beginning to a Wonderfully written suspenseful romantic futuristic story I could not put down.

I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Shelter . I really enjoyed reading this story . It's interesting and unique story line . It definitely kept me turning the pages . This story is about dystopian society where women are few have no rights . No one is truly safe in this world . This story is full of intrigue and suspense and very steamy . I highly recommend taking the time to read.

I Love this book. I could feel the love that each of these guys has for Haley through the whole book, but I could also feel her gaining her backbone back instead of continuing to be the demure lady that she was taught for the last fourteen years. I was glad that she finally stood up to them and told them not to continue to coddle her all the time and that she needed to know what she was facing.
