I read another book by this author a while ago called “Desires Of A Monster.” And I really liked that book!! I don’t know why I didn’t instantly go look for more. But low and behold then I discovered this one. I haven’t read an omegaverse in a longgg time. Let alone a good one 😅. This book is half smut, scratch that, I should say mainly smut. Which I don’t always enjoy because I like myself a good plot. But to my surprise that’s actually what I got with this one. It’s predictable but it flowed nicely and it managed to get ahold of me. Along with the writing style that I am still completely in love with!

This book taught me that there is such a thing as too much of a good thing... and that thing is sex.
Well, it finally happened. Roe Horvat pushed it too far with the omegaverse sex and it ended up numbing my brain. I'm well and truly broken. I can't even feel excited by anymore. I'm considering that a new character flaw of mine.
Is this romance? I don't even know. I sort of zoned out part way through. Yes, this is part of a trilogy, like a serial so this part doesn't have a true ending, but I don't even really get the point of the first book. It is sort of polyamory, but in reality just a big orgy with maybe some sticky power imbalances?
I usually fall head over heals for all of Roe's stuff, but this wasn't for me.

I think I need a moment to pick my jaw off the floor after this book. That was such an experience, but one i’m glad I experienced. This is probably the hotest book I have read in months and i’ve mostly only been reading books with a lot of sex scenes so that should tell you how hot this book is.
I would like to tell you that I read this book with pure intentions but lets be honest here, I read this book because it has a really long list of trigger warnings, all of them related to sex scenes in the book. I had a really stressful week last week because of university and this reading this week was my own personal reward after I had finished everything I had to do, so I just needed a sexy, fun and diverting book and this book offered exactly that to me.

Sebastian is the king and he is about to go into heat looking for an alpha that could get him pregnant during his heat because he wants a kid. He stumbles upon a commoner, Jonah, and he’s attracted to Jonah and decides he needs to have him because Jonah is really big and has a big dick. So Sebastian starts to do everything he can so that Jonah will accept to be with him and they get together.
I absolutely adored the plot of this book, it was filled to the brim with action, it was none stop, all of it was always new and exciting, it always kept me on the edge of my seat and it made me want to keep reading so I could find out what would happen next. And by plot, I mean the sex scenes in this book.
I will be honest here, I read this book because I love anything Roe Horvat and I knew that the sex scenes would be of the highest quality. And I definitely got everything I wanted and more out of this book. I liked how varied the sex scenes were and how many of them there was, this is exactly everything I read this book for and wanted to be reading about. Every time I read a Roe Horvat book, I think thats it, this might be the hotest book I have ever read, but then I read another book of his and it’s somehow even better.
Side note, I don’t really read mpreg books or books with sharing as a rule because I always thought that they’re just not my favourite things in books, but if Roe Horvat writes it, then I will read it, and damn, this really worked for me, even if the book has a lot of things I would not normally read about, so thank you book for opening my horizons and making me realize that maybe I was stopping myself from reading books that I could really enjoy.
This one is mostly erotica, but there is also a love story and damn it really worked for me. It was really sweet and kind of really romantic, which took me as a surprise but I was here for it. I’m really excited to see how that part will be developed more in the following instalments.

Even though it’s pretty obvious where this series is leading, I’m still intrigued enough to continue reading about Sebastian and Jonah’s tale of debauchery and endless orgies (seriously, sooo much fucking).

Wow. This was delicious. It was like visiting unicorn-land where all is light and bright and well. Only with constant orgies happening.

And what an arrangement they all have. His omega companions and his loyal alpha guards. Everybody gets down with everybody and… they were all so… so loving with each other. And until Jonah enters the scenery nothing of it was even remotely filthy. Only beautifully sensual, tender and considerate. Almost like a dream. *sigh
King Sebastian is an exceptional king, if you ask me. The happiness of the ones who live with him is essential to him. And his to them in return. I was stunned by all the love and care that was going on there in the king’s private rooms.
But then the king’s heat nears and he wants/needs to be bred. He wants a child and needs an heir. And he sets his eyes on the "horse-whisperer“ -- a rough alpha who tends to his horses and the stables. And this man is reluctant and even more a challenge for the king. Maybe the first he ever encountered.
And even if Jonah fights for it not to happen, he’s far from being unaffected by the king (as is the king himself) and starts wishing for things he cannot have.
But what Jonah is able and also not afraid of giving to Sebastian is something the king hadn’t even known he was craving.

I think my kindle needs some sort of sexual exorcism after reading this one.
The first half of this book was just bodies on bodies, porny kinky non-stop, man-on-man smut. Like all omegaverse stories Horvat writes, there are no women in this universe. It's m/m, m/m/m, m/m/m/m, mpreg, alpha knotting, heat cycles, male wombs, fisting, double penetration, and lots and lots of anal leakage. Horvat's stories are usually brimming with heartfelt emotions, but this one was missing that element.
An omega king who is having sex with many palace omegas and 27 of his alpha guards.
I really missed the emotional heart that I'm used to reading from this author, it arrived near the end, but it felt a little too late. Still, excellent for pure m/m alpha/omega erotic smut. I leave you with this quote:

this book got me gagged. fucking loved it. jonah, the horse whisperer, and sebastian, the omega king, are filthy down to the bone. 4 stars because i think the story truly captured me when jonah finally comes to the picture. and that was for like the second half of the story. when the omega king caught him screwing one of his omega stable boys? i was obsessed. lust at first sight. definitely a horse down there too *wipes drool away*. the sex will forever be magic. very beautifully written. it is not just this ordinary sex but definitely beyond that. turns out i don't regret picking this one up again honestly.

Multiple partners just aren't for me. For a while there I thought since Jonah got Sebastian to agree to only him as alpha, they would be EXCLUSIVE. But nope. Omegas are fine to have orgies with.

More of Roe’s venture into the ABO universe. He’s been there for a long time now.
Sebastian is the King and lives for beauty and pleasure.
Mainly, lots and lots of sexual pleasure, in lots of different way with lots of different people. And while all this is written with Roe’s trademark skill for eroticism and is totally enjoyable, it does leave very little room for romance, or a relationship development.
Interesting that we see the ‘usual’ dynamics in an ABO universe ‘turned around’ where alphas have to be subservient to omegas (at least in Sebastian’s palace). Not sure how I feel about how this is done.
Roe is usually very good at eliciting feels within the frame of sexual pleasure and discovery, but this time the balance felt off. Jonah seems to fall for Sebastian solely because he is ‘the most gorgeous guy on the planet’ and ‘smells divine’. And because their nature (alpha/omega) demands it.
And while the power play between them is fabulously done (no worries, the BDSM aspect is light, just with a bit of bondage and spanking), I missed real emotion beyond sex and these guys getting to know each other properly. It all happens in a flurry in the second half of the book.
I’m hoping that the second book (this is a two-part story) will provide some of those feels I missed here. But if you're in need of some brilliantly written erotica in an ABO setting, look no further!

I've enjoyed a lot of Roe's works in the past but it seems much of what he writes lately is set in the omega verse, which is not really my bag. However, when I got his latest newsletter describing this book and all the numerable, taboo-ish kinks it included, I was intrigued. And I'm happy to report I liked it a lot. It's certainly not the sort of thing I want to read on the reg, but Roe's writing is awesome and his story of Jonah and Sebastian def drew me in. I saw someone describe this book as "lush" and yes, that is a perfect word for it. Lush and erotic and, well, hedonistic. I would note that it seemed to be short on the emotional intensity betw MCs usually so present in Roe's books, but all in all, a highly sexualized fun escape outside of my usual zone. I look forward to book 2.

Roe Horvat is a huge pervert. I love it. If you don't like your books with ten levels of weird sex shit, I would avoid this author completely.
This is one of the rare instances where I actually wanted a little more.. Romance? Plot? If I cared more about the characters, it would have elevated this duology to a 5 star rating from me.

I’m usually a fan of all of Roe’s book but this one was just ok. While it’s listed as romance it’s more of a straight erotica. Every other page and scene is filled with erotic scenes while that is hot the author fails to provide any sort of romance.
Throughout the whole book both Sebastian and Jonah are written having intimacy with other characters as well as sharing others together which I don’t mind but it wasn’t written in the prologue so we as readers don’t know until we actually read it. While it’s listed as romance there is literally no romance between the 2 characters nor any of the others. There isn’t something descriptive enough to make us learn to love them.
The character build and depth also isn’t enough. We don’t learn anything about Sebastian nor Jonah as a person to make us truly fall in love with them.
While the story is built upon alpha/omega it lacks the feel of it. The want and need to bond and posses one another on a level that is incomprehensible. While the story is steamy hence 3 star the storyline and character depth lacks severely to where I can’t even give it a 4 star. Would I read book 2? Maybe just to see if some kind of development happens. In other words book is more like a m/m/m/m/m/m/m/m romance kind of story. Wish the author had gone more into depth like all her other books she’s written. I was just so disappointed.
