Such a fun, fast-paced story full of adventure and technology that takes the reader to fascinating locations throughout the world! The picture of where technology may take us in the not-so-distant future was thought-provoking, while the pop culture references and sibling banter throughout kept it light-hearted in the midst of an action-packed plotline!

Simpson’s book is absolutely captivating. It moved at an exhilarating speed, and creates such strong protagonists one cannot help but root for—while also containing antagonists that create engaging conflicts to the plot. His descriptions of future technologies were interesting to read about, and spurred quite a bit of thinking when it comes to what our world will look like years down the line. Fascinating descriptions of places Simpson has traveled to all across the world truly made me feel like I was being taken to different places—while also maintaining my nostalgia for all-things home.

This book is great fun! The use of cutting-edge and just-over-the-horizon technology make the story plausible and, at the same time, educational. The vivid descriptions of the story’s many locations all over the world only add to the excitement. The author’s background in technology and extensive world-wide travel is richly reflected.

Like any good novelist, Simpson imagines how new technology may be used for evil. He does so, however, with a keen optimism and an extensive background in tech which makes the read uniquely fun and insightful. Can’t wait for the sequel!

Full disclosure - I know the author; so that made it special. I loved the technology references - - I was not just enjoying the story, but felt like I was thinking and learning, while enjoying the book. Also loved that women had prominent roles i.e. president of company. Appreciated the fast pace. Also a small thing - - loved how the chapters are short. If you get tired, or pulled away, you can finish a chapter; and it's easy to pick back up.

An engaging and well-crafted vision of a technological future, where brilliant characters tackle seemingly intractable problems in ways that remain scientifically grounded and believable.
