In the third book of the Golden Chains series, Raelyn Bell’s family is falling apart at the seams. Hiding in a tiny cabin, she fears the villain responsible for the entire mess may track her down and take away who she has remaining. Desperate to protect those she loves, she has no other choice but to stand up to the danger and prove this threat guilty once and for all.
Kody Walsh fights to stay with Raelyn but is dragged away to a foreign land by the same hostile they had been trying to avoid. Kody is commanded to complete unimaginable tasks for the sake of the enemy and the stakes couldn’t be higher. They both struggle to reunite for the sake of their future, with different plans to destroy the one who continually rips them apart. Can they see this journey through without losing their lives—and each other?
This book was everything I needed to be for a final book in this series🥰
Let me start with the beginning, at the first chapter I felt a little bit lost but that was because of the time frame😅 but then I got sucked in the story and I couldn't put it down anymore😅
The tension in this book builds slowly up and in the last part it is so high that you can't stop reading because you need to know what will happen with these amazing characters🥰
This book had made me feel so many emotions😭❤️ And honestly I am sad that I have to say goodbye to these characters😢
This serie broke my heart many times but at the ending it is geluid back together♥️🥰 These characters will always have a place in my heart♥️
And does that ending means that maybe there will be an other Serie but from an other POV?🙏♥️
Last but not least I want to thank the author for providing me with an earc. I can't thank you enough for writing this series and I am looking forward to read more of you😆♥️
If you haven't read books 1 and 2 mild spoilers ahead. Great ending to a wonderful debut series! This was a dark twisting tail from the very beginning. Involving family and real world tragedy, human trafficking. Raelyn and Kody have been in hiding for months trying to avoid Rae's biological father Zoihab, who's still at large. Zoihab seems to always be one step ahead of everyone, everyone except Joanna. Joanna is the character you love to hate. Without her every other character well quite possibly would be deceased or captured. The action was pretty much none stop full on with kidnappings, shoot outs, knife fights, spear throwing, cars speeding at dangerous speeds, burning buildings and that's just part of the excitement. Kody and Rae are still going strong even as Rae struggles to comes to terms with becoming a mom, and Kody struggles to realize that protecting Rae and the baby doesn't always mean he can save her.
I was a beta reader for the unpolished version of this book. The author is articulate, the attention to detail and the character development is good. It was a complicated storyline, the satisfying conclusion of a three book series. At times the story was nail biting and exciting. The family dynamic of the characters is very involved. Highly recommend this book. I think this author will be going places!
Rating: 4.5 stars rounded to 5 stars Having an advanced copy reader means I should be giving an honest review, so let's do this. Not gonna lie, I've put this book on hold for a while before I picked it up and read it; but once I went through the first chapter, I didn't stop reading until I reached the end. The actions in the beginning were a bit slow paced but it picked up throughout the book and that's exactly what I like. So many actions, drama, romance, and suspense. It makes you flip the page unvoluntarely to see what happens next. The characters' development is more shown is this book, kept me going and I felt like a proud momma watching them mature while reading this serie. I'm not sure if we got a good closure with the ending, or the author will be surprising us with one more book or another trilogy; although it was enough for me and I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. I would definitely recommend this book for someone searching for a good adventure, action, book with some well written romance. Remember to check the trigger warnings before you read!
Still in hiding. Raelyn and Cody are once again in the middle of it all. Raelyn is even more pregnant, still in her own feelings wondering who the real father is of her child. She is still looking for the evidence that will get Zohaib locked up for good. Her and her brother go out in a storm and get separated. Raelyn finds the first person she’s looking for but he doesn’t have what she’s looking for. She has to stay there for a month or so because of the storm. Once the storm settles the gentleman takes Raelyn to the next person and she finds the trunk she’s looking for but no usb with proof.
Meanwhile, Cody was taken and has to work for Zohaib. It takes awhile but he gets rescued and goes back home. He keeps trying to reach Raelyn and can’t. He leaves her messages and texts her. Raelyn finally finds out Kody is home and she rushes to see him. Together again but guess what……they need to leave again. Where do they go…….
They went to Phoenixes parents house. Raelyn still isn’t sure who is the father of the baby, plus her mom Joanna sent them money to help protect Raelyn. They got there and it was one drama after another drama. They did get the help they needed though and a place to stay, but not for long. Zohaib found them again. They got away and ended up at a hotel. Then Raelyn and Cali ended up being taken AGAIN. They got strapped with bombs and separated. One taken to one place and the other another place. Zohaib put up a video, a live stream and told Kody he could only save one.
Kody had a team going to his sister Cali and he and Joanna were on their way to Raelyn. Both girls were saved. Both the bombs were strapped to a vest and on each girl. They took the vest off and one person ran towards the woods and threw it and it exploded. The person who saved Cali, Tucker, didn't make it away in time and died.
Zohaib went to where Raelyn was and he was beating her and one of his soldiers was whipping her. Raelyn has a syringe filled with something and she stuck it in Zohaib and it paralyzed him. She ran. People were fighting. Something caught fire and blew up and it shook the ground, even split it. Joanna found Raelyn and Raelyn was going into labor. She tried to help Raelyn and Zohaib, once again made his way to her. Joanna grabbed an axe and drove it into Zohaibs leg the pulled it out and drove it into his chest and over and over again into his face. He was gone. Then Joanna told Raelyn it was time for her to go and she set herself on fire. Joanna was gone as well.
Raelyn was still in labor and the baby was coming. She let out a loud blood curling scream and screamed for Kody. Kody found her and helped deliver the baby. He went to find help. Then he passed out. They all made it to the hospital. Kody had to have surgery to save his life and he pulled through. Raelyn had her baby, a girl, Amala. They bought the farm house that she used to live in and everyone is comfortable.
This book was pretty good. I’m glad it ended because that Zohaib guy was a nut. He just wouldn’t stop.

‘Stop the clock’ is the final part of Kody and Raelyn’s epic story and it was everything I needed the end of a trilogy to be; relentless, intense and perfectly paced. Following on from the second installment, a few months have passed and the young couple are still in hiding from Zohaib. Raelyn wants to be proactive in their attempts to live in peace but Kody feels like it is down to him alone to protect everyone he loves. Across these three books Swindon has developed characters who have faced unimaginable threats and made life-changing decisions in an instant. Throughout the entire trilogy the action and shocks never stop and this final installment is no exception. Swindon creates the perfect atmosphere in every scene and writes flawless action sequences like no-one else. I don’t want to reveal too much about what Raelyn and Kody have to overcome in this last story but it is such a satisfying and compelling ending for the characters I have adored since their very beginning.
I have been lucky enough to read all three of the books in this trilogy as an ARC. So here is my review of the final book.
Once again this book was fast paced and I read it, in a matter of hours. This was so full of action and intense moments it has taken me a full day to process everything that happened. Cassie writes emotion so well, that I was feeling the fear, anxiety, love and hope, along with the characters. Just when you think it’s all over Raelyn and Kody are hit with more issues blocking the way to their happiness. I’m not going to give away any spoilers to those who are still yet to read it, so all I will say is have your tissues ready.
If you like action, thriller and suspense then you should read this series. Starting with break the stone. This series also brings to light some very real issues that could be happening in the world right now.
I received a free ARC from Cassie Swindon for the promise of an honest review.
This is the conclusion of the Golden Compass series and it has a satisfying ending. Time is running out for Kody and Raelyn. They are hunting for a way to but a stop to Zohaib's reign of terror. They enlist the help of everyone they can, even those they don't fully trust. Zohaib is close on their trail, he seems to never be too far behind. In fact he catches up to them a couple of times but Raelyn and Kody are determined to have their happily ever after without living in fear.
The book is fast paced and very detailed. It is written well. All your questions finally gets answered!!
This latest book "Stop the clock" is so addictive that it is impossible to read It on more than a couple of days. The plot continues where the previous one left off. As Raelyn tries to save her family, Kody will be taken as a hostage. Both will have to fight to end the threat of a country and get a quiet life.
I have to say that it has been very difficult for me to connect with the characters because of the decisions they make. As well, the plot seemed somewhat repetitive, but the action scenes and the setting have been the reasons why I could not let go this book until I finished .
As a curiosity, the author has created a playlist for each book and that makes the reader able to get more into her work.
In general, I really enjoyed the experience of reading this series and I recommend it to all those who like new adult with lots of action and adventures.
Thank you very much Cassie Swindon for sharing such a complete story.

ℝ𝔼𝕍𝕀𝔼𝕎: I was sent a copy of this book for the exchange of an honest review.
Stop the clock is the third and final book in the Golden Compass Series. Right from the beginning, I was swept up in this fast paced story. I would have to say that this book was my favourite out of the three! I loved it!
The book was written very well and was descriptive and detailed, but not overly so. As this is the conclusion of the series, I was so pleased that all the questions and mystery were answered and resolved.
Well done Cassie on a fantastic end to the series!
I was an alpha reader for the unpolished version of this book. Cassie pay such close attention to detail and it really shows in her plot development as well as her character development. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I was reading one page and crying; the next page I was full of anger at one character, while screaming at another. This is an amazing book for romance and suspense lovers. Cassie does amazing with action scenes as well! I would recommend this book and entire series to anyone in a reading slump. It is very fast-paced and keeps you engulfed!
I read an unpolished copy as a beta reader, and all my opinions are my own.
What.A.Ride! If you enjoy action, suspense, and a enduring romance this is definitely the book for you! Swindon shines in this last installment of The Golden Chains Series. All of the characters grow so much between book one and book three. The series reaches a satisfying ending and I can't begin to fit all the amazing things that happen in this small review. Read it for yourself, you won't be disappointed!
It all ends here. Zohaib's evil continues to spread, infecting everythingit touches. Against already impossible odds, Kody and Raelyn feel their chances of a life together with their child drifting further and further away.
If they can survive, they just might live long enough to make a difference. The odds keep dwindling, though, and the bodies are piling up in their wake...
An excellent action adventure with a detailed storyline and well developed characters. A real page turner with plenty of action, lots of suspense, and some romance. Very enjoyable conclusion to the Golden Chain Series. Kody and Raelyn were very realistic and likeable characters. Highly recommended book, series, and author.
Really enjoyed the last installment of the series which showed Raelyn grow and change, even if it did take her time to learn to lean on others and reach out for help.
No spoilers here but the end was phenomenal, fast paced, speedy writing kept me reading for hours and unable to put it down.
Some shocks and some tears but what's a good book without those!
Percent ending to a fantastic series. Cassie kept me turning pages and gripped until the end. A rollercoaster of emotions, I loved seeing the character development come to a close by the end of the book. This is a series I’m definitely going to re-read in the future. Bravo, Cassie!
I can't believe this is the last in the series! I was lucky enough to read all of this trilogy in ARC for an honest review.
This book started not long after the last one ended and I wasn't disappointed as there was romance, action and suspense right from the first few chapters!
As much as the characters annoyed me sometimes (they are teens and sometimes make decisions that make me think really??) I really couldn't help but just love Raelyn and Cody's relationship.
If you like suspense, action and romance this trilogy is for you. Now Cassie what's next? :)
