They were in it for the fun, but never expected the storm…

Life for hometown ER physician Dr. Max Lange has always been sweet. He loves his job and is dialed in socially with his family, friends, and community. But lately, something feels like it’s missing. She enjoys her simple life on the road—hotel rooms, room service, and no emotional entanglements.

Nan Reinhardt

Nan Reinhardt is a writer of romantic fiction for women in their prime. Yeah, women still fall in love and have sex, even after 45! Imagine! She is also a wife, a mom, a mother-in-law, and a grandmother. She’s been an antiques dealer, a bank teller, a stay-at-home mom, a secretary, and for the last 17 years, she’s earned her living as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader.

But writing is Nan’s first and most enduring passion. She can’t remember a time in her life when she wasn’t writing—she wrote her first romance novel at the age of ten, a love story between the most sophisticated person she knew at the time, her older sister (who was in high school and had a driver’s license!) and a member of Herman’s Hermits. If you remember who they are, you are Nan’s audience! She’s still writing romance, but now from the viewpoint of a wiser, slightly rumpled, menopausal woman who believes that love never ages, women only grow more interesting, and everybody needs a little sexy romance.
Her first novel Rule Number One is available at Amazon.com and Barnes&Noble.com. The other two, Once More From the Top and Sex and the Widow Miles — the first novels in the Women of Willow Bay series, are available exclusively at Amazon.

A short fling turns into so much more when Lauren falls for the doctor. Dr. Lauren Mitchell comes from an esteemed medical family yet that wasn’t what stopped her from continuing in her field of surgery. A grave error haunts her, even to this day. Now, she’s a top consultant for a cardiovascular technology company. She’s beautiful, blonde, and smart which attracts the wrong sort of men. When cornered by a hospital administrator, she pretends to be the girlfriend of a hot doctor named Max. They put on a pretty good show, so she asks Max to be her pretend boyfriend for the week. He heartily agrees. There’s nothing pretend about the way he makes her skin tingle or melts her insides with his kisses. The more time they spend together, the more conflicted she feels. When a storm forces her to don surgical gloves, she wonders if she gave up on her medical career too soon. Everything with Max feels so right, can she truly be falling for the doctor?

Falling for the Doctor is a moving sweet romance I read in one sitting. This is my first romance by Nan Reinhardt, and I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed it. From the small town to the townsfolk to the hospital staff to the dialogue to the sizzling romantic tension, each aspect of this book drew me into the story. I connected with Lauren right away, especially when it came to her thoughts and feelings. As someone who is very familiar with the medical industry, the intricate medical details were spot-on. The medical vernacular was correct and meshed well with the rest of the plot. Well done, Nan Reinhardt. The plot flowed at an excellent pace with plenty of flirty banter between Lauren and Max. Their meet-cute will make any romance reader smile. The romance between Max and Lauren is sweet with some sexy kissing moments as well as flirty dialogue. Since both of them are doctors, they both understand time constraints and what it takes to be a successful doctor. There are a few romantic tropes going on here which I adored. The small town and its townsfolk clung to my heart. It reminded me of how much I love the small town where I live. There are some definite issues this couple has to work through, but I loved watching them fall in love and work things out. Nan Reinhardt is a brilliant romance writer who knows how to write unputdownable romance. Her characters leap from the page and into your heart. If you’re a romance reader, this is your next binge-read. If small-town romance is your reading jam, pick up Falling for the Doctor. A romance perfect for reading by the beach or the pool, Falling for the Doctor will melt your heart. Highly recommend!

I love everything Nan Reinhardt writes, but she really upped her game with this book. The characters were likable and their issues believable, and the romance was so great I wanted to applaud when the couple got together at the end. I stayed up way too late finishing it.

Can't wait for the next in the Lange Brothers series.

This is the second in this series about the Lange brothers, and I really enjoyed this installment. There was something about Lauren and Max's relationship, for what it was, that seemed to touch me. She may have only been in town for a short period of time, but sometimes when cupid shoots his arrow, it doesn't matter who, what, when, or where.

Lauren is working for a cardiac tech company, and their equipment was purchased for the hospital, and someone had to train them on the device. The book begins with Lauren eating lunch with one of the doctors, who is a bit of a letch. In walks Max, and she drags him into the situation to help extradite her from this other doctor's unwanted advances. Max, being a good guy, plays along, but who would have ever guessed that sparks would ignite and their chemistry would be off the charts?! Lauren has some demons she is battling, which is why she took this job versus continuing to operate on people. It takes a tragedy in town for her to realize what she wanted from life in her career and her love life.

This is such a sweet romance with just a pinch of heat. The small town setting is the perfect foil to encourage their relationship even though they aren't sure it can last if she is only in town for a week. I loved the interaction between all of the characters and how they all came together after a disaster hit the town. We learned more about the Lange family, including the mom. She has a small storyline in this book which is sweet. If you have read the first book, The Valentine Wager, you get a peek back into Ryker and Kitt's life.

The book does have a HEA, but not without some hard times and conversations. I laughed throughout the book and sighed with contentment at the end. I can't wait to see what is in store for the last book and brother.

We give this book 5 paws up.

I am in love with the Lange family already! I was able to read an ARC copy of this book and since I recently read the first book in this series, I was excited to read this second book. I adored it! This one, so far is my favorite! I connected with Max Lange's character from the very beginning! I loved his attitude, his caring nature and is love of family. He's an ER doctor and just walking along one day in the hospital cafeteria when a woman grabs him and kisses him for all she's worth! WOW, that sure doesn't happen to him every day! She begs him to play along and he does! Lauren Mitchell, come to find out, is visiting his hospital and is a medical consultant for a tech company but she used to be a top cardiologist before she had a bad experience. Max has love at first sight and spends the rest of his time trying to get Lauren to stay in River's Edge but Lauren is a "rolling stone" and doesn't like to stay in one place for long --- or does she? I liked the evolution of Lauren and how the residents of River's Edge drew her into the town. Max's family is great too. When a natural disaster happens, how will that play out regarding whether Lauren goes, or stays? LOVED this story!!!

I really enjoyed Max and Lauren’s story in Falling for the Doctor by Nan Reinhardt, book two in her Lange Brothers series; as a former cardiologist and an ER doctor share an instant attraction that can only grow. Max Lange is an ER doctor and just walking along one day in the hospital cafeteria when a woman grabs him and kisses him for all she's worth. Goodness, that doesn't happen to him every day. She begs him to play along as she’s avoiding some unwanted attention; ever the gentleman, Max does. Lauren Mitchell is visiting his hospital and is a medical consultant for a tech company. Lauren was a third-generation cardiothoracic surgeon, following in her renowned father and grandmother's footsteps. But when she loses a fragile patient, she walks away from surgery and the active practice of medicine, and into an entirely different, safer job. It takes ER Doctor Max Lange and the entire town of Rivers Edge, to help Lauren discover the medical specialty where her expertise is best used, and the people and places she is passionate about.

Ms Reinhardt wrote a wonderful, sweet and emotional romance story that should definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with chemistry, amusing banter, and charming secondary characters helping to give Max and Lauren a chance for love, happiness, and a future together. I highly recommend The Falling for the Doctor to other readers.

Filled with relatable characters, Falling for the Doctor is an engaging and easy to read story. It’s part of The Lange Brothers series, but works perfectly well as a stand-alone book. Set in the tourist town of River’s Edge Indiana, this book challenges the “dumb blonde” stereotype in that petite, blonde and busty heroine Lauren Mitchell happens to be a highly qualified and respected cardio-thoracic surgeon, is published, and is a joint inventor of robotic technology being installed at St Marks Hospital, where the story opens. Lauren’s love interest, Dr Maxim Lange, an ER doctor, enters the story as her fake boyfriend when she has to hastily thwarted the unwanted advances of another doctor at the hospital. I loved the sense of family, community and belonging that pervaded this story.

This is my first time reading Nan Reinhardt. Falling for the Doctor is the second book in the series The Lange Brother and although I didn't read book 1, I was able to follow along. The characters and the world that she's created were engaging. This was a cute story with plenty of twists along the way to keep me interested.

Falling for the Doctor is such a delicately traced love story. Reinhardt’s impeccable storytelling will leave you breathless—laughing, crying, rooting for Max and Lauren from the moment they meet, as they navigate the intricately laid bends and twists in their lives, and all the way to the finish line. I couldn’t put this story down until I knew *exactly* how it all ends for Max and Lauren. I am sure this will be true of anyone who picks up a copy of this book! I received an ARC of Falling for the Doctor and am so glad I did. What a great read!

Falling for the Doctor, the second book in The Lange Brothers series by Nan Reinhardt, is a charming chance encounter to HEA story written in Ms Reinhardt’s unique and lighthearted style. You are absorbed into the story from the first page, the characters draw you in and hold you emotionally captive by the romance that is gently woven throughout. It is unmistakably clear that the characters are lovingly created so that they generate maximum impact on your heartstrings. The intensity of emotions this author is able to generate through her characters of is truly a gift.

Lauren and Max’s story is rife with warmth and passion…as they navigate through any obstacles that impede their HEA journey, you are treated to the rest of the memorable Lange, Flaherty, and sundry characters who make up the small town of River’s Edge. There are many “tug at the heartstrings” moments between Lauren and Max, the most touching ones though are between Lauren and her father…they were quite heartfelt.

As is typical when I’ve finished one of Nan Reinhardt’s books, I instantly await her next one…the same holds true with Beck’s story, the next installment in The Lange Brothers series.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Over the weekend, I sat down to read one chapter in the just received ARC of Nan Reinhardt’s upcoming Falling For The Doctor. My intention was to read one chapter per day. A few hours later, I had completed the entire story. I have three special story settings that I absolutely love. River’s Edge is one such setting. This is the second story in the Lange Brothers series. I thought that nothing could compare to the Four Irish Brothers Winery series, but the Lange Brothers are equal to the task.

This is the story of ER doctor, Max Lange, and Dr. Lauren Mitchell. Lauren was a gifted surgeon like her father and grandmother, but she walked away after losing a patient. She now is a technical advisor to the nurses and physicians using the latest cardiac surgery equipment. Max and Lauren fortuitously meet, and it’s love at first kiss. Max wishes for Lauren to stay in River’s Edge with him and practice medicine. Lauren has been hiding from her true gifts as a doctor for too long. Can she stop hiding and commit to a bright future with Max? She knows it would be easy because she does love Max, and she loves all of River’s Edge’s zany characters, but she is petrified to again be a practicing doctor. How will her strict, overbearing father react? Will Mother Nature help or hurt her decision?

No one writes better stories that the author. Falling For The Doctor is one of my three most favorite River’s Edge stories. Five + Stars!!!

A thought-provoking addition to The Lange Brothers series, book two. The author, Nan Reinhardt knows how to write a great storyline that really pulls you in. Falling for the Doctor had me thinking about it long after finishing the book. An emotional story for me for sure. Look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Great story about finding your passion in life

There is a difference between being good at doing something, getting the job to meet family expectations, and finding the career you are passionate about.

Lauren was a third-generation cardiothoracic surgeon, following in her renowned father and grandmother's footsteps. But when she loses a fragile patient, she walks away from surgery and the active practice of medicine, and into an entirely different, safer job.

It takes ER doctor Max Lange and the entire town of Rivers Edge, to help Lauren discover the medical speciality where her expertise is best used, and the people and places she is passionate about.

This book has excellent supporting characters, a close-knit town that is there for each other when help is needed, and top-flight first responders. The characters all show believable growth and development. It was a very entertaining read.

I received this arc of Falling for the Doctor from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in Nan Reinhardt’s The Lange Brothers series. I enjoyed the first book in the series so much that I was happy to return to River’s Edge. Book two is about Max Lange, an ER physician at St. Mark’s Hospital and the youngest of the 3 brothers. Max is a kind and well liked guy and wonderful doctor. Dr Lauren Mitchell is at St. Marks to teach about the new cardiovascular product that the hospital purchased. She is being hit on by the creepy administrator she is working with. She sees Max and asks him to pretend they are dating to get the creepy guy to leave her alone. He agrees and invites her to meet him for dinner at the hotel she is staying at. He convinces her to demonstrate some PDA to convince others that their lie is real. She is only in town for a few days but Max is taken with her and wants to spend as much time together as they can.

We learn that Lauren is actually a cardiothoracic surgeon and after she lost a patient, an infant she lost her confidence and stopped practicing medicine. She elected to work as a sales rep for a company instead. Her dad and grandmother are renowned in the cardiothoracic field and she followed along as it was easier than choose something different. She shares her feelings with Max about her profession but realizes their lives are too different.

A tornado hits River’s Edge causing destruction and injuries. Lauren had just left town to get back on her job schedule and she pulls off the road and her car ends up with damage. There is a big multi car pileup. She joins a veterinarian she meets to go car to car to check on the other people. She admits to being a doctor and ends up at St. Marks where Max is already working in the ER. She is asked to help out and ends up working in the ER for a few days while her car is being repaired.

Now Lauren has some decisions to make about her future. She can return to her job traveling and training doctors and hospital personnel across the country on her product or she can stay in River’s Edge with Max and the people she’s met while in town. The romance between Max and Lauren is so sweet. Both are wonderful characters and the storyline is terrific. There is a lot of angst as the reader wonders what Lauren will choose.

I have read all the series that take place in River’s Edge and it is nice to see the different people again. I confess I did get a little lost as it has been a while since I’ve read the other series so I couldn’t remember all the backstories for everyone. I will go back and reread everything again as I often do. I love all of Nan’s books and this was another 5 star book that I highly recommend.

Falling for the Doctor by Nan Reinhardt is the 2nd book in her The Lange Brothers series. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and happy to say Falling for the Doctor was just as great. We meet Lauren Mitchell, our heroine, at the start, when she is discussing her consultant training on the new cardiovascular technology that the hospital purchased. Lauren notices that the administrator is making her uncomfortable with his attention. She notices a handsome doctor walking into the cafeteria, with kind eyes, and immediately jumps up to greet him with a kiss; Lauren whispers to him to please play along.

Dr. Max Lange, is an ER physician, living all his life in River’s Edge, and happy in the job he loves, and being with family. When a strange woman gives him a kiss, Max happily returns the kiss, and finds himself attracted to Lauren, as she is to him. A slow build romance begins, with Max learning all about Lauren, and her famous doctor father and grandmother; as well as why she no longer does surgery.

Lauren walked away from surgery when she lost a young patient, and decided to be into a safer job, as a consultant and technical advisor to train doctors and nurses using cardiac surgery equipment. As their relationship escalates, Max tries to convince her to return to practicing medicine, using her excellent abilities. When a tornado hits the town, Lauren is asked to help at St. Mark’s hospital, and finds herself in a past similar situation that will change everything. Max also pushes for Lauren to stay at River’s Edge, as he loves her, and they could work together, with her resuming her career. Will Lauren be able to move forward, and stay with Max?

Nan Reinhardt gives us some wonderful secondary characters that were so likable, making this story even better. The atmosphere of this small town was wonderful, as everyone helped one another. What follows is a sweet wonderful romance between a great couple in Lauren and Max.

Falling for the Doctor was a terrific story, that was very well written by Nan Reinhardt. I look forward to reading the next book in this fun series. If you enjoy pure fun, enjoyable romance, wonderful couple, and great secondary characters, then you need to read both The Valentine Wager and Falling for the Doctor.

I've read all of Nan Reinhardt's books and enjoyed them, and I must say she gets better with each book.

Ms. Reinhardt has built a world around River’s Edge, with engaging characters who inhabit that sweet spot. I love her descriptions, and her research that is neatly folded into her stories is always educational and interesting.

Like all of her other books, Falling for the Doctor is a feel-good, happily-ever-after story. But the author always provides enough conflict and challenging events to keep the story lively and unique. I'm impressed she can spin so many delightful and distinguished tales. Each book could be a stand alone, but the subtle inclusion of the likeable characters from her previous books makes for a richer, more textured story.

You’ll fall for this one!

Although I haven’t read the first book—yet, “Falling for the Doctor” is Book 2 in the Lange Brothers series and it did not disappoint. It was easy to catch up on the cute little town of River’s Edge and the people in it.

The story of Max and Lauren, both of them doctors by training, pulled me in. He’s a big bear of a guy, great at giving the hugs Lauren enjoys as she’s sorting out her career since leaving surgery after losing a young patient. It took me a bit to get into with the medical details they exchanged and then their story just got better and more swoon worthy as it went! There are some really cute lines and, toward the end, when a delayed flight makes her late, the way she catches up with their boat is especially fun. The build up of their romance was believable, allowing me to fall in love with Max along with Lauren.

The insights into following your heart when it comes to love and work were thought-provoking, applicable to life. Bonus points for a “complicated” relationship with her dad! Highly recommend this must-read story, “Falling for the Doctor.”

Lauren gave up a surgical career following the death of a patient, and now she's in medical sales. In need of help out of an uncomfortable situation, she asks a stranger to play along as her boyfriend, and Dr. Max does just that.

Max is intrigued by this stranger needing his help and they meet for dinner. Still feeling sparks, he agrees to continue being her fake boyfriend during her visit. Fake dating allows them to get to know each other, but Lauren's leaving, there's no future in sight till a tornado brings Lauren back to town, and she faces her fears as a doctor.

Lauren must figure out what she wants to do career wise and if there's room in her heart for love. Max is trying hard to convince her to stay while helping friends and family recover from the storm damage. Can they find the compromise which could lead to a forever love?

Falling for the Doctor (The Lange Brothers #2) by Nan Reinhardt is a book in which to fall in love. The story elements such as characterization, dialogue, emotions, plot pacing are all excellent making this such a wonderful read. The story takes place in wonderful River's Edge so the Lange family is around to join in but it is mostly a medical romance since the main characters are doctors.

The characters are so real with their passions, fears, and goals in the medical field. ER physician Dr. Max Lange is just terrific as a doctor and as a person. The kind of person that confidence shaken Dr. Lauren Mitchell needed in her corner. This is definitely a story of “You don’t find love, it finds you.” Nan Reinhardt always delivers a great contemporary romance. Falling for the Doctor is one to be read and enjoyed today.

An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A delightful trip to River’s Edge
I truly enjoyed these characters. I adored Max and his caring ways and his love of family. Lauren’s character progressed and I loved how she found her true calling with the help of the town people. This story had me intrigued from the beginning and the characters immediate chemistry flew off the pages. Nan Reinhardt writes wonderful brothers series. If you haven’t checked out her Four Irish Brothers Winery series, I highly recommend you do. I eagerly await the next book in the Lange Brothers series.

What a wonderful addition to this series. I loved the first book, but I really think the second one is my favorite so far! I have read many books by this author and every time her writing has a way of pulling me in and before I know it, I have finished the book. I fell in love with the characters, the town and the story line and at the end I was very sad the book was over. Lauren and Max’s had so much chemistry between them, and their story was everything I hoped it would be and then some. You honestly do not want to miss this one. Max is too busy with his life as an ER doctor to have a personal life. He is there for his mother and his brothers. When he meets Lauren he knows she is different from any other woman he has ever met. Lauren is a surgeon turned rep for a cardiovascular technology company. Instead of sales she teaches how to use the new equipment. It is her way of staying her her field without being a doctor. When the married doctor she is having lunch with continues to hit on her she sees Max and pretends he is her boyfriend and kisses him in front of the entire cafeteria. Is it just a "meet cute" or the beginning of something more? Cute story.

Max and Laurie's Romance!

This book was sweet. Its plot involved meeting another doctor unconventionally, sharing each's pedigree, taking in the town, meeting family and friends, trying to convince the sweetie to stay, oh no...tornadoes, pitching in to help, a visit from a family member needing medical help, and falling in love. Also, Max and Laurie, the protagonists, were ideally suited for each other. Additionally, the author's vivid descriptions and just-the-right word choices created an upbeat tone. Overall, I liked the delightful narrative.

Another visit to River's Edge, Indiana, Nan Reinhardt's signature setting with her lovely series from Tule Publishing. I so love the Lange brothers and the family dynamics Ms. Reinhardt writes so well. Max is...well, he's special. (He's a Lange, after all.) Lauren's character arc is so interesting, too, that you take joy in rooting for her to find her answer. All in all, another success!
