Rowyn is downright giddy that she and Layla now have angel marks that will prohibit Lucian or any other demon from taking advantage of them. Question: Jax had an angel mark yet he was whisked off to the Netherworld since the demon Degamon had his name. I’m pretty sure Lucian has Layla’s name and I know for a fact he has Rowyn’s. What’s to keep him from taking them to the Netherworld?
Also, just dropping Jax from the storyline sticks in my craw. He’d been changed due to his time in the Netherworld and yet Rowyn doesn’t seem to have any desire to help him. I was hoping something bad would happen to his bitch of a fiancee. It’s weird to have a character be a fixture and then just have him disappear with no explanation. And what about his mother’s wannabe boyfriend? He seemed kind of sinister. Don’t forget Pam. She’s mentioned once in passing by the cat. Oh, and the jinni. We know he’s out there. What is he up to? Shoddy storytelling.
Overused: "demon balls” practically every other page. “subbie” who calls their Subaru that? Say “RV” like a normal person.
So, necromancers. Now not only limited to raising the dead but are stealing souls with the aid of a god named Derrigor (whose fate is left hanging out there)
Are Rowyn and Layla immortals? How’s that going to work for Layla and Danto? Will she die long before him? Layla + leather outfits/6” heels = overdone. Speaking of Danto, as a leader of the vampires, wouldn’t they have accompanied him when they’re fighting the bad guys? How come he never brings them along? Do Rowyn and the rest of the priests kiss and make up after she saves the day? So many questions.
Great to have Rowyn, Gareth, Tyrius, Lance et al back in this magical, action-packed battle with a demented, soul-sucking necromancer for our dynamic, kick-ass team to cross swords with! Guaranteed to have you biting your fingernails & your kindle smoking as it tries to turn the pages quickly enough to keep up with you! Wonderful series with great story-telling, gutsy/snarky characters, dangerous situations, supernatural places & realms fantastically combine to make a brilliant & dramatic read. Angels, demons, zombies, dark magic along with lots of snort-worthy humour & the best characters this side of the veil, make this a highly recommended fantasy book!
Our hapless heroine Rowyn is in a happy place with Gareth when all hell is let loose in the form of Necromancers they kill a priest and are stealing the souls from living. She is of course called upon to solve the problem but she is no longer alone not only does she have her faithful family she also has the council and the help of angels. Gareth has his soul drained and she goes after him in her own unusual way and brings him and the others back. I believe there is more that could be done with this series as the way it has ended is a bit lame who knows maybe there is more to come in the future.
WOW! I didn't think there would be another book in this amazing series. To have one last story with Rowyn, Gareth and Tyruis is fantastic!
They are back to facing off with another evil force in the world. This is an action-packed, magic filled, sword fighting story that will have you on the edge of your seat captivated and highly entertained right from the very first page.
This is an amazing series with fantastic writing, kickass characters, filled with suspense, twits and loads of murder and mayhem. I highly recommend this fantasy series to anyone!
The necromancers were effectively creepy. The astral projection scene was way cool. Loved the development of conflict and how it was resolved, although it did seem like the wrap-up was a little TOO convenient. All in all, this series was a fun ride, and I highly recommend it if you enjoy dark fantasy and snarky heroines.
I was really happy to get this arc and to see that Rowyn and Tyrius are book for another book in Dark Strike.
She will have a new ennemi to fight. Someone or something is stealing stole from the living and this evil darkness could be really dangerous. But when someone she love is threatened she won't hesitate to do something stupid, again.
I have really loved this book and could barely put it down. Love Rowyn and Tyrius.
Another great story in this fantastic, easy to read, fast paced, paranormal series. Rowyn & Tyrius are called upon to help Rowyn’s EX landlord & good friend Father Thomas solve an unusual, dark & evil murder. I really enjoyed this whole series & I’m sad it’s the last one.
I loved this series! Well developed, likeable characters, great plots and plenty of action. Definitely page-turners!
However, the one drawback is the poor editing and proofreading. As the series progresses, the errors multiply. Wrong words, extra words, missing words and misspellings detract from the great writing and are, for me, frustrating.
Best of the series so far! Rowyn is in a fight for the all the lives of Earth. I love the characters and the snarky dialogue. Richardson drops you into the story and keeps the action coming. Very enjoyable read.
I gobbled up this series like Lays potato chips! And now my bag is empty😥 Will there be more? Something with a baby or two on the way? Thank you for this series. It had all my emotions in an uproar. You did well, Kim, you did well!
Another fantastic book in an already amazing series, I really enjoy reading about this world and there fascinating characters, I'm looking forward to reading the next one in this series.
This series is really good I couldn’t stop listening to it the narrator did a awesome job telling the story it kept me interested the whole time. I have enjoyed all of the Kim Richardson book that I have a read or listened to I highly recommend her books 📚 🎧
