Jemma is settling into her new role: coordinating a team to watch out for the elusive Drusilla. But when London is beset by strange happenings, she finds herself in the thick of the action – and not in a good way.
Meanwhile, her boss Lennox plans to lighten the workload. Unfortunately, he means his own. Torn between running the bookshops, keeping watch, and investigating what is going on in London, Jemma knows something has to give.
After some tough decisions, Jemma has the support she needs. But the more they dig, the clearer it becomes that the chaos in London is the work of more than one person. Who is behind it all? And as they draw closer to the truth, Jemma discovers that she is in danger too…
Can Jemma save herself and the city before she runs out of time?
Fully Booked is the sixth in the Magical Bookshop humorous mystery series, set in modern London.
I grew up in south London, did an English degree, and then took forever to start writing. The stories started to grow longer...and then the murders began!
I tend to write Victorian mysteries of a not-too-scary nature. I've somehow managed to have 3 separate Sherlock Holmes-themed series (why make things easy?). I also co-wrote the Caster & Fleet mystery series with Paula Harmon, and my Maisie Frobisher Mysteries series is a spinoff from that.
I write a modern cozy mystery series, Pippa Parker Mysteries, and my newest series, The Magical Bookshop, is a cozy mystery series with a touch of fantasy and magic.

Jemma loved her job when it started out working in the bookshop but now she's finding herself hating being managed by Lennox, desperate for the return of Raphael and focusing all of her efforts on having a team scheduled to be on the lookout for Drusilla but can she really do anything to save the bookstores and ensure that the knowledge is kept safe?
The 6th entry of the series and a brilliant way to wrap things up if this were to be the final piece of the puzzle. The writing is once again of the highest standard and the story one that works perfectly. A massive congratulations to Liz Hedgecock on delivering such a high quality of writing throughout a series as we have all experienced that drop in standard of a series we have loved but thankfully that is not the case when it comes to this author.
A stunning conclusion to this series. Or at least to the magic bookshops we have known. One thing for sure, change is imminent. I have to admit that although this was an exciting book, it wasn't my favorite. I felt oddly unsettled reading it, probably due to Jemma's erratic behavior and odd interactions of characters. But it was a fabulous conclusion to all the problems in the series and I wouldn't have missed it for anything. Actually, I am planning to reread the entire series next because I do love the concept of the books and the wonderful characters.
This series of 6 short novels about a London bookshop rapidly became irresistible and had me reading half the night and neglecting everything else. I didn't want them to end, but had to know what happened. Now I have finished reading I'm going to miss all the bookshop staff, and especially the cats.
The latest and hopefully not the last, book in the Magical Bookshop tales is a must read for all the fans of this truly unique and magical series. Jemma James continues her pursuit of her nemesis, Druscilla, but there is a much more diabolical plot threatening her, the Keeper’s Guild and those she loves. With Raphael still in Italy and frequently impossible to reach, Jemma needs all her talents and determination to keep temporary boss Lennox Nash from undermining her efforts. Flooding, a missing artifact and annoying London Police Sergeant Hawkins, whose motives are decidedly unclear, send Jemma on a perilous exploration of some historic London sites in search of the truth. She will take an thrilling underground river ride that is not to be missed. I loved it! I highly recommend this series and have really enjoyed getting to know these characters. While I am happy to have discovered answers to many questions, I am so glad that the book ends with possible future storyline threads. If you are looking for an escape, you couldn’t pick a better series.
Jemma is doing her best but she always feels like she has not done enough and there's so much going on. Changes in the bookshop, strange events keep on happening at the libraries, Raphael is not always available to take her calls, Carl is far away and also difficult to get in touch with. Will Jemma be able to solve all the problems and keep on managing the bookshop? Will Raphael come back? This story has so many things happening at the same time, so much action, that it's not possible to stop reading, you just want to understand what is going on and which will be the grand finale! I love this series, the bookshop with its own will and reactions to things that are done to it, the cats that only do what they want, and the story characters that are so different but always act as a team! If you need a few hours to forget what is going on in the world this book is a must to download, it provokes laughter, thrills, and pure entertainment!

Action packed 'end' (?) to this series. It reminds me of a game I played as a kid, called Scotland Yard. You could play it with 4 people. 1 was the criminal, the other 3 the police officers. As a police officer it was your task to catch the criminal, who was travelling all over London, using different means of transport. Taxi, bus, water-bus, underground. And as a criminal you, of course, had to stay ahead of the police. In this case, Jemma is the 'criminal'. I really enjoyed this magical series and I hope Liz Hedgecock will either continue it at some point, or write something similar!
Oh my! Fans of this series will enjoy this to the hilt, and what a ride it is! The temporary Keeper of England, Lennox (oh dear, I did mean "Dr. Nash") is being his usual annoying self and objects to Jemma checking out an emergency call from another part of London. But Jemma is certain this has something to do with the still-missing and evil Drusilla. All the wonderful characters (and some new kittens) band together and - from then on you can't stop turning pages. Many bits come together and are explained, but please don't make this the end! More, more!
Jemma has quit her job as Assistant Keeper in order to pursue the evil Drusilla and protect the city of London. Along with her bookstore cohorts, she seeks out Drusilla and her accomplices and ends up facing arrest and in danger of her life. But Rafael and the police come to her rescue in time This is supposedly the last book in the Magical Bookshop series, but it had little to do with the bookshops and was a jumbled up story without a clear wrap up, so who knows. It gets 3 stars because it has cute kittens.
You can definitely not read this book as a standalone, the story takes off right where the previous book ended. Drusilla is still a huge threat to the bookshop and the city. Lennox is more of a hindrance than a help to Jemma, leaving her to do all the work. And the chaos just keeps getting bigger.. Fully Booked is an entertaining and easy read as usual, but it left me less enchanted and surprised compared to previous stories in this series.
I've now read the series. Though each title is quite short, they are each individually and taken as a series well worth the time it takes - to read them. The characters are entertaining and the series well told. I don't want to write any spoilers so I won't list characters or plot point, except to say that the magical bookshop seems to me to be a great place to work with lots of perks but with enough problems and enemies to make it interesting.
A great mixture of suspense and action, a plot that is full of twists and turns and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I love the characters and find the descriptions of people and places superb and you feel you are there traveling around London with Jemma and the crew. You will love this series. I received this arc for free and wanted to leave an honest review.
An action packed finale in the Magical Bookshop series. I could feel Jemma’s frustration at the situation she finds herself in and the weariness she feels. And I really wanted to give Lennox a good slap (am I allowed to say that??) Not my favourite book in the series but a good read with a few twists you won’t see coming. Not sure about the octopus either but then this is a magical story.
I absolutely love Jemma and her friends. So many things were cleared up in this story. The twists and turns were wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and hope this is not the end. I received an ARC from BookSsprout and this is my honest opinion.

No, oh no!!! It’s the end of this series and that’s the absolute worst thing I can say about this book. Maddy gets some actual lunch breaks in this and Jasper shows he’s got more potential than Carl, who has turned into a big of a no show. Will Lennox get a foul comeuppance, and why is Raphael still in Italy?
This one strays much more into Rivers of London or Midnight Mayor territory than the previous books in the series, but a satisfying conclusion to this first set of six. I really hope she does revisit the characters, and I'd like to see more of Sergeant Mike Hawkins - he needs to have coffee with Thomas Nightingale and Peter Grant!
This is the sixth book in the Magical Bookshop series and it was perfect! It had romance, adventure, mystery, magic and humor. The characters continued to change and develop. This is the last book in this arc, but I hope this author writes more about these characters (or this world) soon!
Loved this story. Enjoy the misadventures of Jemma as she navigates the current crises in London. Can she juggle all of her responsibilities and stay sane? You should try it today and escape into a wonderful fantasy world of fun and murder.
A rather tense finale with this being the last in the series of the Magical Bookshop. Is Dr Nash as Jemma thinks (up to something?) - quite the finish I was expecting and more! And a warm welcome back to the octopus!
A pleasant and amusing easy-read series, with a relatable m/c and some nice world-building. The plot of this last one got a bit tangled, and the denouement had a touch of the deus-ex-machinas but overall, not bad. The bookshop setting was good fun. And there are cats. Cats are nice.
Excellent series! It is a thoroughly enjoyable, quick read!! My only problem is that I completed the series in one day. Here is to hoping that there are more books with the same friends.
Loved the gang,am truly sorry the story is over though Liz left it in such a way she could write more books using some, any or all characters again Gor more adventure,it concluded to quickly for me!!
This rating is based on a wanted to read basis and is not as usually said a page turner, so please give the series a try as I would say if you know the area where it's set, you're hooked
What an exciting finale to the series! Again, wonderful surprises at every turn. I'm sad this was the last book. Greatly enjoyed every single one of them.
