When confronting your demons means losing your soul.
On the night Robert was forced to watch his lover murdered by a gang of unhinged men, he had never felt so helpless. So useless. So cowardly.
So full of rage.
When those men start dying horrific, violent deaths, and the detectives find Robert’s fingerprints and DNA at the scenes, there is one obvious prime suspect.
But Robert was in the police station during the first murder and under surveillance for the second. He cannot possibly have committed revenge killings this way.
As Robert comes to understand the dark forces feeding off his anger and forging a path of vengeance on his behalf, he strives to access it himself. Seeks to manipulate its power. And harness it for good. For himself.
Can a mortal man, full of repressed rage, hope to control a supernatural doppelgänger capable of getting to anyone, anytime?
Reflected Dark is a supernatural suspense horror novel where a man must confront his own soul and fight to pull himself back from the abyss of self-destruction… before the true power behind his gifts claims him for itself.
Jordan Bach is a lifelong lover of horror and dark thriller fiction. As a high-schooler, he and his friends would consume Stephen King and James Herbert books in days, and his early ambition was to be an author of such work.
Sadly, life got in the way, and it took him several years to rekindle his love of writing.
He now pens books for both adults and children (around the middle-grade 8-12 age range), starting in late 2020, with a rash of new novels slated for 2021 and beyond.
Jordan lives under his real name in Staffordshire, UK, with his wife and two children, the children being particularly useful as beta readers for his kids’ books. In his spare time, he is a cyclist, runner, and martial arts enthusiast, and hopes one day to take his family traveling to many foreign countries, as he did as a younger man.
For now, it’s establishing himself in the competitive field of horror fiction. Do pop along to say hi.
This was a fascinating and unique story with a good twist involving paranormal components that made the suspense even more interesting and unforeseen. This was a fast-paced novel and I devoured it in a little under 4 hours. It caught my attention from the start, and kept it throughout the book. The characters are very well fleshed out and feel as real as any person you know. The fact that the characters were so fleshed-out as they were meant that they were highly relatable, even the characters that were utterly unlike me.
This unique paranormal suspenseful thriller mystery not only has a cast of memorable characters that keep the reader very invested in the story, but the scenery, locations, and descriptions were vivid and well described in a way that made me feel more like watching a movie in my head than just reading a book.
I can honestly say that this is not your typical paranormal suspense story, and it holds a Twist that you will likely not have seen coming. I would recommend this book to those who like mysteries, thrillers, and suspense books with gritty reality, a solid plotline, and just enough fantasy-to-reality ratio to form a well-rounded plot with a satisfying ending.
The protagonist is the anti-hero in this novel, and indeed by the end, you may find yourself grudgingly rooting for him. The antagonist is a more clear-cut evil that the reader can solidly root against.
This book is a good read for an afternoon, beach or rainy day read, where one doesn't need to concentrate too hard to follow the plot, and well, it's just a darn fun read!
It's a fun and easy read that I'm so happy I won in a Goodreads giveaway recently! Thank you so much for the excellent opportunity to read and give my opinion on your book!
Unexpected, unsettling, and undeniably captivating…
Clear a little time in your calendar for this eerie and atmospheric tale because it is one of those books that, once started, demands your attention from start to finish. After narrowly surviving a brutal assault in which his girlfriend is callously murdered while he is forced to watch, Robert Duncan’s life only gets more complicated. It is understandable that he should imagine exacting swift and violent revenge against the assailants which have caused him such grievous injury, both physically and emotionally, but when his attackers begin turning up dead, Robert descends into a whole new nightmare. No spoilers here – just prepare for a macabre tale with a brisk pace, relentless suspense, unexpected twists, and a claustrophobic atmosphere in which the main character must find a way to defeat an enemy whose power defies anything Robert has ever considered possible. I was transfixed and couldn’t read fast enough to find out if and how he would manage to escape the clutches of pure evil. What an adventure!
