This book was an easy read. This story continued where it left off from book 1. Tristan and Dylan have made it! They had a goal in the previous book and it worked in this book. Now Dylan is dealing with her injuries and Tristan is experiencing first time of everything in the land of the living. The story has both views within the chapter. There's a new third view in this book. Susanna, a fellow ferryman similar to Tristan. She's surprised of what she saw of Tristan. She loves Tristan from afar, because of their duties, they are always a distance away. Now that Tristan is no longer in the wasteland, she wanted to find a way to follow him.

In the land of the living, troubles followed Tristan and Dylan. For cheating death, they are punished in different ways. Love was instant and lots of lies they had to tell. The story was good for the light hearted. I don't recall why Tristan and Susanna has such jobs. It would drives me crazy. Both books are a bit slow for me but I read them all so it was all good. “Los ladrones de cuerpos” es la segunda parte de la trilogía Ferryman, libros juveniles que tocan el género paranormal con romance. Son libros muy ligeros, con algunos toques originales pero un poco simples, para desconectar están muy bien, pero si buscas algo más este libro se queda corto en muchos sentidos.

El primer libro lo leí bastante rápido y aunque me pareció un poco repetitivo por el entorno y lo que sucedía no me desagradó y quise saber cómo continuaba la historia. Ahora el entorno es diferente, estamos en la realidad, con temas más juveniles como el instituto, los padres y los primeros amores, pero sigue teniendo su esencia paranormal con nuevas y viejas criaturas, conexiones extrañas y viendo desde la perspectiva de un nuevo personaje lo que sucede en el Páramo. Sin embargo, esto no ha conseguido que el libro tenga más agilidad y chicha y creo que el problema es que la trama no da para mucho más y segundo que los personajes son inaguantables y hay cosas muy infantiles, tóxicas y sacadas de la manga que te sacan de la historia.

Es que el libro no está mal, se lee rápido, la premisa esta chula y la pluma de la autora es sencilla y amena, aunque peca de repetitiva y de falta de profundidad, por eso al libro le falta emoción, más consistencia y unos personajes que atrapen al lector con su historia y me da la impresión de que con esta trilogía no se va a dar el caso y es una pena. Aunque tampoco entiendo mucho porque tiene una tercera parte cuando el final de este es completamente cerrado y todas las preguntas tienen sus respuestas, no sé qué más puede contar la autora 🤷🏻‍♀️

Y es que mi mayor problema (además de que me deja fría) son los personajes, sus forma de actuar y de pensar y las relaciones que tienen entre ellos. Me parecen muy estereotipados, victimistas, infantiles, sosos y egoístas, es que me han hecho poner los ojos en blanco más de una vez y me saca de mis casillas como se comportan.

Un libro paranormal con romance muy ligero y con buenas dosis de acción.

Luego del final del primer libro esperaba que la historia diera un giro sorprendente pero fue más un drama de instituto muy 2012, si bien me recordó a ese estilo de libros de romance paranormal fue algo más de lo mismo.
Aun así siento que tiene elementos que se rescatan.

Я не зогляділася, як прочитала цю книгу за вечір. І мені прям сподобалося. Набагато більше за першу частину. Пригоди головних героїв стали цікавішими, навіть трохи екшену додалося.

Ділан і Трістан намагаються пристосуватися до життя у світі, в якому вони опинилися (не скажу в якому🫢), але чи вдасться це їм?

Їхні стосунки, зазнали деяких змін. Якщо в першій частині все йшло рівно і гладко (адже вони завжди були наодинці і не було нікого, хто б міг їм завадити), то тут в нас і образи і недомовки і ревнощі. Проте незважаючи на це, герої вміють говорити один з одним, не тягнуть довго з образами, діляться своїми почуттями. Мені сподобалося, як вони захищали один одного, завжди були на боці один одного і не сумнівалися у своїй половинці. Ох а цей зв'язок між ними😍 Дуже люблю такі повороти сюжету в книгах.

А ще тут було набагато більше милих і романтичних моментів
Також нам краще розкрили героїв
Ми дізнаємося наскільки Ділан вперта і трохи вередлива, який Трістан врівноважений, впевнений і спокійний

Коротше кажучи, мені сподобалося буквально все, навіть другорядні герої (хоча Джек здебільшого лякав, сподіваюся він не залишиться з Сюзанною)

Це дуже гарна підліткова історія кохання, без драми і непотрібних страждань.

Не знаю, плюс це чи мінус, але кожна книга циклу (а їх 3 всього) завершується цілком логічно, так що можна обійтися й без продовження. Але мені все-одно було цікаво, як складеться життя героїв далі, тому я ні краплі не пожаліла, що купила одразу три частини.
Це дуже комфортне і спокійне чтиво. Так книги не викликали у мене бурю емоцій, але я насолодилася кожною сторінкою.

P.S анотація 2 частини, як і українська обкладинка є цілковитим спойлером до 1 книги, тому будьте обережними

Buku kedua ini masih menampilkan gejolak cinta kawula muda. Kali ini Tristan dan Dylan hrs menangani masalah mrk di dunia. Mrk mendapati diri mrk terhubung, gak bisa berjauhan satu sama lain. Entahlah, aku pribadi kurang suka clingy bonding ky gini.

Ada tambahan pemeran yaitu Susanna - sesama ferryman yg sptnya cintanya bertepuk sebelah tangan pd Tristan. Susanna membawa Jack, pemuda jahat kembali hidup, persis spt yg dilakukan Tristan pd Dylan. Dan mrk sama² terkoneksi cuma beda aura aja pasangan ini.

Dua pasangan ini hrs bertempur menghabisi para wraith yg berpesta pora di atas bangkai para korban kecelakaan.

Novel ini ringan aja, gak ada plot twist. Manis aja. Tapi bikin penasaran juga buku ketiganya ttg apaan sih. Nanti dilanjutkan deh.

Як і перша частина, це - любовна любов. Але читалося швидко та цікаво. Додано більше екшну та небезпеки.
Фінал - звичайно happy end, куди без нього в таких історіях?
Поціновувачам жанру сподобається) Ну і щоб поставити крапку в цій історії, третю частину я таки прочитаю😉 Хоча, мені історія вже здалася логічно завершеною.

I was not entirely sure what to expect from this book. The first book had a very clear storyline and plot and also a very clear ending. If someone had told me that it was a stand alone, I would have believed them. I was therefore both excited and terrified to pick up this second book. Excited because I loved the first book. Terrified because I was afraid this book would ruin it.

But, after finishing this book I can let out a relieved breath. This book was just as thrilling as the first book. Especially because it really builds on the first book. Because this entire story is about consequences, about dealing with the aftermath of things, about securing a future based on very muddy ground. And it does a brilliant job at it.

Both because Dylan and Tristan really have to learn how to live their lives, how to live it together, how to deal with their shared experience and all the new experiences that will come. And because we get to know a new character, Susanna, who makes the consequences even more feelable and visible. It lead to a heartbreaking finale that moved me to the edge of my seat.

And on top of that McFall has an amazing writing style that really works great with these characters, this world and this story. It just fits. It’s in a way magical and special and enchanting, but it’s also raw and real and to the point. It makes it easy to create vivid images of what’s going on and to build a connection with the characters.

I’m really excited and terrified for the third book though, because once again, this book had a pretty solid ending. I promise to read it before the end of the year!

El argumento me ha ido conquistando y el ritmo lo sentí a buen paso. Nuestros protagonistas no lo van a tener nada fácil. Ni en la recuperación física ni lo que les va esperando. Ya sea la adaptación nuevamente o finalmente a las sorpresas que les van esperando, que no es que sean muchas pero sí las suficientes para que haya más quebraderos de cabeza que hay que ver. En lo personal he ido disfrutando, sobre todo Tristan me sigue robando el corazón-. Su gran sentido del deber y su amor es que son igual de grandes y realmente no lo va a tener tan fácil. Creo que aquí podemos destacar que poco a poco Dylan va tomando fuerza y aunque aún le falta un poco, puede estar casi a la par de nuestro barquero, por lo que LOS LADRONES DE CUERPOS no me ha decepcionado y me quedo esperando la tercera parte para saber que nuevas sorpresas nos van a traer, porque dudo mucho que esto se quede así.


Claire McFall me tiene hecha un manojo de ansia viva, porque la realidad, su mente malévola nos da dos de cal y una de arena, porque sabe como hacernos disfrutar y sufrir, tomar un descanso y decirnos... tu espera a lo que viene... me encanta. ¡Feliz lectura!

Me ha gustado más que la primera parte y me ha durado unas pocas horas, pero sigo sin enamorarme de los protagonistas y sigue sin convencerme su historia de amor.
Queda cerrado, pero perfectamente podría haber una tercera parte.
La verdad es que lo de los espectros podía haber dado mucho más de sí y el final se me ha quedado bastante cojo. Porque no me ha gustado que para una de las partes sí haya perdón y para la otra no. Me ha parecido algo muy feo y además lo del Inquisidor me ha dado la sensación de que estaba muy cogido con pinzas, no sé.
Creo que le doy dos estrellas porque como digo me ha durado apenas unas horas y eso ya es un punto a su favor, si además hubiese sido lento, no creo que lo hubiese llegado a acabar

Adorato! Adorato! Adorato! 😍 Erano due anni e mezzo che aspettavo la traduzione italiana di questo secondo capitolo e l'ho semplicemente divorato, ero troppo felice! Anche se il primo libro mi è rimasto particolarmente nel cuore, mi è piaciuto molto anche questo seguito, ho ritrovato una trama ben costruita ed uno stile di scrittura coinvolgente ed incalzante. Non mi sono annoiata mai e ogni capitolo mi ha fatto venire l'esigenza di scoprire quello che sarebbe successo in quello dopo! I protagonisti sono ben caratterizzati e questa volta assistiamo alla crescita del loro legame e di loro stessi, non più nella terra perduta, ma di ritorno nel mondo reale. Sono davvero contenta di aver fatto questa lettura e non vedo l'ora di concludere il terzo capitolo di questo bellissimo retelling del mito di Caronte, il traghettatore di anime...speriamo che la casa editrice non ci metta di nuovo tutto questo tempo!! Consigliatissimo 😍💖

Secondo appuntamento con questa storia Young adult che ha la magia degli amori impossibili, più forti di qualsiasi cosa, anche della morte!

Già dal primo volume, Ferryman Amore eterno, le atmosfere ci hanno rimandato alla tradizione letteraria del mitico traghettatore delle anime nell’Ade, che ricordiamo come un vecchio stizzoso nocchiero padrone della riva dell’Acheronte: Caronte demone occhi di bragia, con il suo nome che allude al fiammeggiare di quello sguardo che esige il pagamento del tragitto con un obolo, come fosco pegno. Figlio di Erebo, re della notte, conduce le anime dei morti da una sponda all’altra dell’Acheronte (o dello Stige a seconda delle tradizioni), diventando testimone di un viaggio senza ritorno, quello che consente di arrivare nell’Oltretomba. È un’esperienza incredibile e terrificante, unica, che da sempre ha assunto l’idea di un passaggio, di un rito, di un’avventura per pochi eletti.

L’autrice ha ripreso l’idea del viaggio e dell’avventura tra pericoli e difficoltà, di un momento riservato a pochi eletti, in questo caso a due giovani: un traghettatore che ha le sembianze di un ragazzo dalla bellezza struggente e una giovane ragazza alla scoperta di sé. 

Nel primo romanzo infatti, l’incontro di questi due giovani ha assunto subito l’idea di una esperienza unica, perché lo scopo del loro peregrinare era quello forse di conoscere sé stessi e il proprio destino, di imparare a capirsi, così come è capitato a Ulisse nella nekuya - vivo tra le ombre a scopo divinatorio - e nelle altre rappresentazioni dell’Aldilà. La catabasi, discesa di un’anima negli Inferi, è un percorso di sofferenza di penitenza, poiché tutti gli eroi che hanno osato oltrepassare questo confine tra il mondo dei vivi e quelli dei morti hanno pagato un pegno e hanno conosciuto ed esplorato qualcosa di terribile, benché unico. Sono viaggiatori speciali, consapevoli del pericolo che stanno vivendo, del percorso che stanno intraprendendo, tanto che hanno sempre avuto bisogno dell’aiuto di una guida. La nostra giovane protagonista lo è suo malgrado, una fatalità tra le colline scozzesi e il suo Destino cambierà per sempre…

Ogni viaggio è una scoperta e tutti coloro che affrontano una esperienza del genere lo fanno per scoprire la missione della propria vita. Ma in fondo non è ciò che è successo anche i nostri giovani protagonisti? 

L’Oltretomba, come ci insegna la tradizione classica è parte del mondo: la fisicità e la spazialità sono elementi fondamentali di quell’esperienza e il viaggio della nostra giovane protagonista subisce qualcosa di inaspettato…

Era... Era scomparso.

lo aveva visto andare nella direzione sbagliata. Verso il mondo dei vivi – lui e la sua anima. E scomparire.

Il senso più profondo di Ferryman è la manifestazione della forza dei sentimenti, quindi più che rimandare alla tradizione del traghettatore Caronte, ci ricorda Orfeo che scende negli Inferi per riportare la sua amata Euridice dal mondo dei morti e quello dei vivi. Tristan, il nostro protagonista, è un moderno Orfeo e il mito del cantore e della sua amata, ripreso da Euripide, Platone, Ovidio e Virgilio, oltre che nel capolavoro di Rilke, è proprio ciò che si avvicina di più a questa favola moderna.

Qualcosa di incredibile è successo alla fine del primo romanzo, una story line ben definita ci ha portato ad una conclusione inaspettata. Compiuto, chiuso quasi come uno stand alone, il primo libro ci lascia spiazzati, riprendiamo la storia di due giovani con un cambio di ambientazione notevole

«Noi siamo destinati a stare insieme», le disse lui, facendosi ancora più vicino. «Ovunque tu sarai, lì sarò anch’io».

Di fronte a conseguenze incredibili Dylan e Tristan sono nel mondo dei vivi ma tutto è cambiato, l’unica cosa che non muta è la necessità di rimanere uniti più che mai, per sempre, per necessità, nel nome del Destino. Lasciamo quindi il mondo delle ombre con un’ambientazione che rimanda inevitabilmente ai paesaggi scozzesi nebbiosi e sconfinati tanto cari all’autrice, per ritrovare Tristan e Dylan che hanno rotto le leggi della natura rompendo la ferrea regola che ordina di rispettare il confine tra vivi e morti. Hanno forzato la mano al Destino, tenendosi stretti per andare oltre, squarciare quello che è il confine: il limite, il velo che separa il mondo dei vivi dal mondo dei morti.

Tornare nel mondo reale e tornare alla vita è forse la sfida più grande, perché Dylan ritrova la sua vita con una madre ingombrante e un padre assente, tante domande e tante incertezze, tante insicurezze e inquietudini tipiche della vita adolescenziale; Tristan scopre la vita, per la prima volta, con la saggezza di chi troppo sa ma non ha vissuto… forse nessuno è pronto.

Persino nell’oscurità crescente era facile individuare le miriadi di sfumature di rosso che dilagavano nel panorama. Il nero serpente sinuoso che imitava un piacevole ruscello della regione di You Yu. Le anime trasparenti e tremolanti nelle vicinanze e – unico aspetto che, per Susanna, riscattava quella visione della terra perduta – tutti gli altri traghettatori. Loro erano stelle, perennemente scintillanti dentro la palude.

Sarà una nuova avventura, un nuovo viaggio e un nuovo percorso, che i due giovani dovranno, passo dopo passo, percorrere con i loro limiti e con la forza del legame che li unisce. Tra le loro esperienze dovranno affrontare lo scotto dell’ età adulta: le conseguenze delle loro azioni, prendersi la responsabilità della loro scelta, perché la loro scommessa ha avuto delle ripercussioni inimmaginabili 

Quattro uomini assassinati. Quattro uomini qualsiasi, che svolgevano soltanto il proprio lavoro, assassinati nel punto esatto in cui lei e Tristan avevano sfidato la natura ed erano tornati nella terra dei vivi.

L’Aldilà non è più lo stesso, Tristan e Dylan si sono ribellati e hanno sovvertito un ordine millenario, segnando una rivoluzione, creando un precedente

«Tu hai qualcuno?», le domandò la donna. «Qualcuno che ti aspetterebbe per tutto il tempo necessario?».

Dovranno combattere vicini, sempre più vicini, inevitabilmente vicini, per la loro felicità e per ripristinare l’equilibrio garantendo l’armonia tra i mondi. Quello squarcio, quella possibilità che hanno strappato al Destino ha generato caos, poiché ha dato la possibilità di oltrepassare e di andare oltre il confine ad altri: anime? traghettatori? demoni?

Lui era lì, caldo, al suo fianco. Era abbastanza.

La sua mano risalì per appoggiarsi al petto di lui e sentir battere il suo cuore. Questo le ricordò che entrambi erano vivi, miracolosamente, magnificamente vivi. Ed era l’unica cosa importante.

Possono accedere al mondo dei vivi, con quale scopo tuttavia? Tristan e Dylan seguono una promessa d’amore, di amore eterno.

L’impatto rispetto al primo volume è decisamente più YA restando l’ idea suggestiva e originale da cui si e sviluppata la trilogia e qualche tocco brumoso, malinconico e vago nelle atmosfere della ambientazione.

I personaggi riescono ad agganciare emotivamente il lettore, anche i comprimari che svolgono un ruolo decisivo nell’evolversi della trama, promettendo sviluppi interessanti.

Una prosa lineare, dal ritmo vivace ma piana, perfetta per uno YA, con qualche tocco di drammaticità per lasciare la dimensione epica di questa storia tra vita e morte.

Ferryman Oltre i confini ci ricorda che ci sono amori grandi, epici, in grado di andare oltre il confine tra vita e morte, tra realtà e fantasia, tra luce e ombra: i due protagonisti come due novelli Orfeo e Euridice dovranno dare prova di un atto di fede e credere che il loro amore sia più forte di tutto.

Ci riusciranno?

«Adesso abbiamo tempo, tempo per vivere. Anche se», una scintilla brillò nei suoi occhi…

With my absolute love of the first novel, I had high hopes going into this sequel. But I was left feeling disappointed with everything including the characters and the plot.

In the first novel, the main character, Dylan, comes off as a much older character than she truly is. Her language, and the way in which she deals with the situation makes her seem like she’s of a more mature age. But in this novel, it is clear she is only 15 and we see this sudden shift in her character as she becomes this annoying, clingy and whiny brat we didn’t know in the first novel. The relationship between Dylan and Tristan completely changes in this novel, and I don’t love the idea that he was essentially trapped and Dylan was basically okay with that. As much as it made sense that this happened, how it was handled from our main character was heartbreaking since he couldn’t experience anything on his own.

Not going to lie, her desperation for wanting to be kissed and touched by Tristan became a little much after awhile once the whole age thing became apparent to me.

As for the overall story of this novel, I just wasn’t a fan. I feel like it was a let down from book one as those fantasy elements didn’t carry through in a way I would have expected. We knew there would be consequences, but how they were handled I’m not a huge fan of. The introduction to another Ferryman who wasn’t mentioned in the first novel, who is obsessed with Tristan wasn’t a selling point for me. I didn’t really care for this character, nor do we really know her, so her being thrown into the loop for a love triangle situation wasn’t working for me.

I was so excited for this novel as I’m a big promoter of the first novel and I’m sad that this was a flop for me. I really wanted to love it, but the more I read, the more annoyed I became. I still plan to continue with the series to see where Tristan and Dylan story ends, but for now, my expectations are low.

Es bueno, aunque no tanto como el primero. Parece que el tercero sera mucho mejor, o al menos así es lo que llevo.
Me gusta la resolución de algunos conflictos, pero otros diento que es demasiado cliché, y la protagonista me llega a cansar un poco, cosa que no me pasó con el primero. Lo más rescatable es la segunda barquera y sus almas.

La segunda parte de El barquero de almas cuenta narra la historia desde dos puntos de vista diferentes aunque siguiendo en tercera persona.
El libro va cogiendo buen ritmo, enlaza las dos historias hasta que se cruzan los cuatro personajes y podemos saber un poco más sobre la "vida" de los barqueros y de los espectros tras cruzar un velo abierto entre el páramo y la vida real.

Los personajes evolucionan bien, aunque ciertas partes me han parecido surrealistas si las comparo con el contexto del primer libro.

En la historia se disfruta de una fantasía newadult urbana, con toques de un amor inocente, y otros con ejes de toxicidad. Se puede entrever temas como el maltrato físico y sus consecuencias en barrios marginales.

A pesar de que, definitivamente, esta segunda parte tiene mucha más acción y más movimientos, me ha parecido más insulsa y con la poca magia que me causó emocionalmente el primer libro. Una lástima, para mí, el primer libro hubiera podido tener un buen final autoconclusivo.

loved this book so muchh! i expected more romance but IM NOTTTT COMPLAINING. i just wish susanna also got a better ending but 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ ANYWAYS I CAN YAPP ABOUT DYLAN AND TRISTAN FOR LITERAL HOURS! bro these bitches are literal soulmates like none can prove me wrong. i hated dylan’s parents tho… AND AT THE END THEY GET BACK TOGETHER?! they were so annoying also it doesn’t really make sense how they were convinced so easily BUT let’s not burn my already damaged brain. Anyways jack was an asshole and i think it’s good he died cuz…. idk he was useless. THATS IT BYE

I can't put my finger on exactly why this book fell so flat for me, but I had to work to push through to the end. Despite characters who supposedly have death-defying love for each other, it all felt very one-note. The new characters added very little to the concept. Just a very blah read.

Una segunda parte bastante normalita. Nada sorprendente la verdad.
Me ha parecido entretenida, pero no me ha enganchado y los protagonistas me parecieron indiferentes, ni me generaron empatía ni un poco de afecto.

La historia está bien, pero le faltó más emoción y tensión y se podría haber hecho una trama más oscura si se hubiera aprovechado lo de los espectros. El romance no me conmovió y no estuve de acuerdo con el final.

Un po' Shadowhunters, un po' La chimera di Praga. Se devo essere sincera, il secondo volume mi è piaciuto addirittura più del primo. Qui cambiano le ambientazioni, i personaggi, e la storia prende una piega diversa ora che tutti devono 'adattare' il loro destino e riparare le proprie colpe. La narrazione si fa più dinamica, più serrata, e, ancora una volta, si riconferma un fantasy che va oltre la storia d'amore fastidiosa e banale.

Por donde empiezo, Joan es la mamá más comprensible porque aceptar que Tristan se quede en la casa con esa mini explicación me ha dejado sorprendida. En segundo lugar, este libro es prácticamente lo que pasa después del accidente en lo que respecta la recuperación de Dylan y Tristan intentando "aprender" sobre el mundo de los vivos con las complicaciones de ir al colegio y todo el drama (Al final no explicaron el romance de estos dos así que lo dejare como un insta-love)
Por último, el nuevo personaje Susanna, al comienzo era imposible que me convenciera porque era una amenaza para mi ship (Dylan y Tristan❤️) pero después entendí de que ella solo estaba enamorada, no hizo nada malo, solo quería estar con la persona que le gustaba, fue un gran personaje porque no había malicia en ella o hasta donde sé que quedo este libro, aunque el final indica que habrá más que contar de ella en el último libro de esta trilogía.😁
