| PERSONAL INSIGHT | - 🌸 I Enjoyed Reading the Book as the Author has written Beautiful Life Lessons in the Book.
It has been quite evident that the recent times have seen an incredible technological breakthroughs that has led to a newfound excitement amongst each and every single one of us pertaining to what is to come.
Earlier, many people were used to doing things a certain way. However, with technology, it meant that everyone would have to get out of their comfort zone and do something a bit different to enjoy the incredible benefits that it offers.
Hence, it is suffice to say that the advancements have had a profound effect on all of us, yet it has had an adverse and negative impact as well, especially on the children, who are spending way too much time on screens rather than doing any physical activities.
‘The gEucalyptus Tree’ by Vijaylatha N is the author's take on how damaging the excessive exposure to technology is for young age children and the resulting harm that ensues pertaining to their brain, mind and self worth.
Our protagonist, nine year old Neil is just like the other kids his age, who can not spend more than few minutes without his phones, tablets, video games and other electronic devices.
When this sort of addiction lands Neil in trouble, his parents, Natasha and Nirvan, decide that it is time for a change and take matter into their own hands to solve this issue.
As is quite expected, Neil is very much reluctant at first to leave his old habits behind, but soon he starts seeing the beauty of things for what they are and slowly but steadily grows into liking his new environment.
This was such a charming book that gives a very nice and much needed message to everyone, especially the younger generation, hence I am going to give this book FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Here, I am back with another brainstorming book to which every one must put an eye on it. I am talking about ‘The Eucalyptus Tree’ by ‘Vijayalatha N’ which is generally a book based on the observation and has been presented in the very fictional way. The Eucalyptus Tree begins with a character Neil, who is nine-year-old kid, fascinated by games and the virtual world which he sees in the game. He is addicted to those gaming character lives and somehow this leads him towards depression to which his parents find a tough time to deal with.
However, for a change they tried changing the environment for their kid, a closer to nature which they thought will somehow change Neil and help him come out of unknown depression and it really works but it changes Neil completely not only with the perspective of character but his life which was unpredictable.
Overall, the author basically tries to make the readers understand the gravity of using technology; the highly tech gadgets which has an adverse effect on the psychology of teens as well as kids those which are exposed to this new generation world filled with gadgets and games. The author has really presented the subject in a very appropriate way. The language style is simple yet grossing and words are impeccable.
An insightful book which I found as a warning to myself as a new mother!
The book is about Neil a small child who's addicted to the screen, and his parents are regretting it because they just wanted to have some time to themselves and now they've ended up with a child who can't take his eyes off the mobile!
As a new mother myself I found that this was a much necessary book for myself because soon my child would start imitating me and my husband and it's in our hands on what our child learns from us and learning how to use the mobile or laptop might be awesome and cool for a kid but health and mental wise it's not needed for a kid!
The book focuses on the screen time issue and how parents can overcome and alternate children's activities instead of giving them the screen and spend time with the kids
A well written book, fast paced I found myself reading it in one go!, character development is really good, the plot is definitive and solid, the book is a fictional Non-fiction because it entertains as well as impacts the readers with life lessons!
Reviewing my last read. . . Book: The gEucalyptus Tree Genre: Fiction Author: Vijayalatha N . . My ratings: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ . Eucalyptus tree is a talk, evergreen tree endemic to SE Australia and belongs to Myrtaceae family whose roots are adapted to using rain fed soil moisture from top most soil layers.
I read the book and think for like hours... Like eucalyptus tree, young generation too is feeding on what they see in us ... They are imitating us. Yesterday only i was in the waiting hall before my appointment with a doctor, there was a kid sitting in mother's lap and she was using phone and kid was staring into the screen and while moving tiny fingers on mother's wrist imitating the mother scrolling on her device.
What do you expect from the kid? Like in age of 2-3 he'll start scrolling n i guess by the age of 4 he'd able to find music of his choice to dance and parents will say, "waah mera beta kitna smart hai.... Itna smjdaar h bhaisab YouTube n ol khud hi chla leta h. Ohoo jiji, bina phone m cartoon chalaye toh rh ni skta. Arey didi kya hi btau... Hm toh preshan ho gye, phone utha k chla jata h or hm dhundte rhte h. Pura din laptop m rhiyo pdhai likhai chhod sb. Ye ladka toh ji gya hatho se... Password lga k rkhta h phone or laptops m"
That was the story of parents only. Ever thought what happened to child... Neil... Is one of those child who are addicted to devices, social media, and games confiding his world into the screens. And what do uh think could be the result... DEPRESSION
In a very young age of getting bruises on knees and elbows he was depressed. Trust me i cried when I thought of the child.
Fortunately in the story parents of Neil use their wisdom and paid attention to him. They changes his environment and give him an important lesson for life... How to celebrate every moment, how to enjoy the life.
No more spoilers... About book, language is simple, vocabulary is fine, book cover is so pretty, plot of the story is so genuine. I love the narrations and book covers the important topics, that how to reduce the gap between nature and technology, role of parents in this thing.
Simply... I just love the book and i highly recommend it to everyone... This is the topic we should always cosider a serious issue cz depression in young minds is no less than the murder of the childhood.
gEucalyptus Tree by Vijayalatha N is a novel about a mysterious eucalyptus tree and curious boy Neil. We can call it a sci-fi fiction as the book discusses time travel, black hole, space and cosmos! Young Neil had an addiction to gadgets and games which led to medical complications. The doctors suggested keeping him away from gadgets and exposing him to nature. But the 2022 era kid is not at all interested in socializing or nature walks. So his parents decided to take him to his favorite place, Ooty. Little did Neil know that Ooty had a special adventure planned for him. The nocturnal visits from a mysterious girl and a cranky old woman turns Neil's life upside down. Read the novel to know more about this young boy's adventure.
The book is a fast paced one and it really hooked me in the beginning. I liked the characters and they really complimented the plot. I believe this book is best for childrens interested in space science. The paranormal twist was incredible, it literally spiked my interest. I liked the versatility of the characters. Author highlighted a stuttering girl who was compassionate to plants and animals. Also, the protagonist, Neil himself can be a great example to young children. The way he changed through the course of action is really a great lesson.
Now coming to the things I didn't like. The formatting of this book needs loads of work! It's making very bad impressions. First few chapters were great but as soon as the book takes a sci-fi turn, it becomes confusing. If it's considered suitable for children x then I believe few terms might be hard for them to pronounce or even understand! Also, the book talks about changing the past which makes me question if it's right or not! There are few typos too. The whole theory of creator and sixth plane actually seemed quite confusing to me. Overall Neil and his funny way of thinking is what pushed me to finish the book. I will recommend this book to sci-fi lovers.
gEucalyptus Tree is a book rich with spiritual symbolism employed in the most modern way so as to suit the requirements of the coming generations. The book deals with many themes surrounding spiritualism and finding self. The story is about a boy who is intellectually talented and gifted by birth is prescribed to avoid digital devices due to his addiction and later finds solace in nature, sets off for a journey to self discovery and understanding real potential within him with the help of nature. The specialities of the book include the way the book has been written. It indeed catches the attention of the reader due to better font size, simple language, repeated wordings (like Heyyyyy) that gives dramatic effect during reading, simple chalk illustrations, new words (like Zendaxiah) and small chapters. The book is fast paced, suitable for a one time, one sitting read.
Although the book focuses on children, the themes it deals with seem complicated for them to digest alone. They will need the help of an adult who can help them out. Self discovery at an earlier age might feel like trekking with chappals. And for adults, it might seem as a simple non fiction book that's stuffed with self discovery in a very indirect yet creative manner. Also the depiction of the protagonist as an intellectually smart and gifted child can obviously create a sense of exclusion in children (thus amount of relatability being doubtful) the story becomes purely superficial, dealing nothing with reality(while the author desperately tries to symbolise things). Also I felt that the book seems stuffed with many things which at some point makes the reader to put the book down and never take again as there are plenty of things to be dealt with. This reduces the attention span of the reader and interest.
But considering the fact that the book is author's debut work, she has done a appreciable job and I expect lot more fabulous works from her.
☄️ This book is a perfect blend of dystopia and science fiction which takes us on an adventurous, soul searching journey through the seven cosmos and ultimately reaching the supreme. Teaching us that even though we perceive the cosmos as chaos it is actually the most organised system where time is non-existent and only a point of reference. 🌌
☄️Neil, our protagonist is addicted to phones, where one will always find him glued to the screen and lost in virtual world, so much that he becomes totally ignorant about the real beautiful world, about emotions like love, generosity, affection. His doctor's advice: a change of environment might do him good, so his parents sacrificed their daily way of life and settled in the beautiful landscapes of Ooty. 🌌
☄️Coming to Ooty was his destiny as here he meets his 'shadow girl' the faceless little girl who was one of his first friends that made him laugh and forget about gadgets but soon his shadow girl goes missing and he suspects the neighbourhood weird eccentric but amazingly brilliant scientist Dr. Nair as the culprit behind it and thereby embarks on a mission to investigate the truth. 🌌
☄️From meeting an extraterrestrial being to find one's own self, from not knowing about empathy to becoming the brightest soul that vibrates in the frequency required to meet the Supreme, from being self-centric to willing to sacrifice for the sake of someone else Neil, his friend Maya who is a soft, empathetic, sensitive human being who is also a plant whisperer and Viridian, an alien from cosmic plane all embarks in the journey to help Viridian reach his home and finds the spark of the real meaning behind life and spirit of oneness, these book is an absolutely beautiful tale of friendship, love, empathy and self-discovery. Filled with nuggets of fun and wisdom this book was an amazing read that will remain etched in your heart and mind. The writing style was easy and engaging. Recommended to everyone. 🌌
Embark on a captivating journey of self-discovery in “The gEucalyptus Tree,” where the mysteries of life unfold through the whirlwind mind of nine-year-old Neil. Lost in the world of games and screens, Neil grapples with unknowingly spiraling into depression until a change of environment alters his course. Join Neil as he navigates a cosmic voyage of self-discovery, traversing the unknown path through a time tunnel to encounter the supreme creator of life.
Neil invites readers to embark with him on a twisty-twirly voyage through the depths of the human experience as his journey is revealed via the unfolding mystery of friendship and love. Neil’s trip serves as a moving reminder of the influence that our environment may have on our feelings and ideas. In this book, the author discusses the detrimental effects of early technology exposure on children’s developing brains, minds, and sense of self.
The author has done a really good job of presenting the topic. This narrative illustrates how terrible the situation is and how urgent it is to act before things go out of control. It imparts lessons on how to raise the next generation of humans to be autonomous individuals rather than just machines. Our immediate surrounds and environment have a significant impact on how young brains are shaped. You will also witness how Neil overcame his need for gadgets and began his road to recovery in this narrative. This book is ideal for anyone who enjoys science fiction mixed with philosophical themes.
What are you reading this review on? A laptop, a phone, or a tablet? And how much time do you spend with them, whether it's for work or leisure, 10 hours or 15 maybe? Our world has become lost in screens, smart devices, Android, or maybe even ISO if you're rich, but yea, the point is that we have become overly dependent on these gadgets and that we have somehow become helpless without them. The fact that we as humans have the ability to design such great machines and have such great ideas is great, but what is the result of these machines, whether it is improving basic tasks or making entertainment more satisfying but how does that affect us, that is the focus of this book.
It's a story about a teenager, Neil, who is consumed by screens, video games, and anything and everything a teenager does in the 21st century. Like any 21st-century working parent, his parents are not too involved in his life, leading him to spend all his time staring at a screen, leading to depression. Why you ask? Well, that is what the story is about and how then his parents try to change his surroundings and what changes Neil goes through as a result.
There's just something about this book that I think is perfect for new parents. I remember growing up without gadgets and how nowadays 2 and 3-year-olds need a screen in front of them even for eating. I know my cousins have done this and I feel like I understand this concept. While I suggest everyone read it I urge every parent out there to read it at least once
"The gEucalyptus Tree" by Vijayalatha N explores the themes of technology addiction and the mysteries of life, and it is a sci-fi novel. It is the tale of nine-year-old young protagonist 'Neil' who is addicted to games, screens, and the virtual world, and because of his addiction, he unknowingly slips into depression. Neil's parents observe that he is neglecting real-life interaction, which affects his emotional states and well-being, so they decided to move to a new place to change the environment because they knew that a change of place was going to change everything in Neil's life.
The cosmic, twisted, and swirly journey of self-discovery taken by Neil. The journey started when he found a time tunnel in an ancient gEucalyptus tree. Through that time tunnel, he is shifted to different epochs, and when he enter in the tunnel he meets the cosmic librarian and the Supreme Creator of life who assist him to understand the enigma of friendship and love that is beyond time and space.
The author beautifully portrayed the impact of technology in our lives. She points out the way too much technology use can result to depersonalization or disconnecting us from real human relations while at the same time it provides temporary relief which does not solve every emotional problem. It is a thought-provoking read, and the narrative is simply captivating. The illustrations are cute, and the cover is beautiful. If you like to read sci-fi with a touch of philosophy, then this book is for you. I would love to rate this book 4.7 stars.

Tell me honestly how much time you spent in this 10inch screen; just scrolling the feed for hours. Right? Harsh but a true reality that I guess everyone is facing especially the kids. Before discussing about the story let me take a moment and appreciate the efforts that the author has put to make this book worth reading, from this unique title to the cover page and most importantly the cute illustrations, everything is on point. Well talking about the story, this book depicts the life of every other kid who is starting his day and ending his day just with one tool i.e. this 10inch screen that you are holding while reading this review😛. A boy named Niel was so busy with this tech that he rarely spent his time doing other fun activities and slowly this habit lead this poor kid toward a dark word called Depression, and when his parents realized about it they decided to help Neil to get out of depression and teach him how to enjoy life to the fullest. I love the narration and plot. This problem is real, parents should take charges and shouldn't allow their kid to spend all their time on mobile phone or tab and get them involve in some fun outdoor activities. Young readers should definitely give this a read.
This book is truly one of a kind. When I picked up the book I was totally not prepared for the beautiful story that lay ahead. Though this story is told about Neil, a little boy , grasped in the evil claws of gadgets and modern dependencies, but through him the author has conveyed the story of many more Neil's around the world. What she has talked about is a global problem. The way these modern world shackles drag Neil into depression leaves no choice for his parents but to opt for a change in environment is concerning. The results show the various changes that slowly appear in the boy and the way his whole attitude towards life as well as his direction of life changes. But what about those who can't change the environment at their free will ? This story depicts the seriousness of such situation and to take actions before things slip out of hand. It teaches to guide the coming generations to not be robots but to be an independent batch of humanity. Also, the way the words are crafted, so smoothly, and the twisty , crafty words inserted here and there, are enjoyable to read. The cover of the book is beautiful and had me picking up the book at once. The pace is normal . A nice read.
The cover of this book is so beautifully designed that I was instantly drawn to it. This story is a basically a self help read, but it's presented in form of a fictional story. The story revolves around a young boy, Neil who's addicted to gadgets. The story portrays the evil side of technology and how it impacts an innocent minds. It is a very prominent problem nowadays that gradually gadgets are becoming our world. Young Neil used to sit behind the screen all day playing games and gradually this started affecting his mental health and it led to depression, restlessness, anxiety. His parents did whatever they could, and finally decided that a change of environment could help. Our surroundings and environment is a major factor that plays a vital role in shaping young mind. And in this story you'll see how Neil's journey of recovery and outdoing gadget dependency.
The theme is nice and the plot is beautifully woven. The language is simple and lucid. The pace is a little slow towards the beginning but later the story flows smoothly. The narration is quite engaging and it kept me glued to the story till the end. This book deals with a very important and relevant topic.
Overall it's a nice read. Definitely worth trying!

The Book, The gEucalyptus By Vijayalatha N written on technology. From the cover page through the blurb, the book attracts my attention. I finished it in 1-2 sittings, and it's about a generation when every child is addicted to or frequently involved with electronic gadgets, which has become a significant problem. There is a nine-year-old Neil's who is addicted to games, screens, and the virtual world, leading him unintentionally to depression. His parents was worried about him and they decided to change their place and to meet him with new healthy environment. So, Is the new environment will change Neil's life ?
Many questions occur in many people's minds, and this book can answer them all on how to balance your child's life in this new period.
I like the way author takes an initiative to discuss about kids having an addiction with electronic gadgets and it will definitely ruin their life and it can be controlled by changing their environment and very important to connect them with nature to just like Neil's parents did.
Narrative power is very amazing, language is lucid and captivating. Do pick it up..
The gEucalyptus Tree 🌲 Author: Vijayalatha N A boy named Neil who is lost from the virtual screen is moving towards depression. It tells his story. Neil's parents remove him from this environment. Will life be comfortable?
This is a topic of contemporary relevance and the author has incorporated ideas that can be read by the new generation. There should be a discussion about the mental health of children and their care. It expresses the author's desire to resolve any serious issue through discussion. It should be taken as a mission to equip our children to live in harmony with nature as well as man. I'm inspired by this. Our habit of spending our precious time on social media, screens, and virtual machines all of these topics lead us to the way of thinking.
The author miraculously explained the differences that occur when moving from one place to another. This story has very important topics. Such stories, which have a profound effect on the mind and life and need to be implemented in life, are relevant from time to time. Very good presentation, simple language, beautiful cover are all the features of this book. I recommended.
Today's generation spend most of their time in front of gadgets be it laptop , computer , mobile they keep themselves engrossed in video games and social networking sites . Definitely technologies have improved our life a lot but excess and misuse of anything leads to bad results . This is a fictional story dealing some real problems. Neil , a young boy who is an gadgets addict loves spending most of his time playing video games this not only destroys his physical health but his mental health too he finds happiness only in winning the game and his whole world revolves around it . His parents tried their best to get their son out of it and the only way which worked out was changing his environment trying to make him meet people and come closer to nature . I liked how author penned down such an important concern in this simple and amazing way leaving a great message for the readers . Grab this book it will definitely teach you many life changing lessons. Language used is simple and easy to understand and narration done is very well. Must read 👍😍
This book is about a nine year old boy, Neil, who was so addicted to games and the virtual world that he unknowingly became a victim of depression. This book covers his journey of tackling it.
Neil's parents are a really great example of parents. They do everything they can to help cure their son. They make the toughest decision to disrupt their lives and move to a new place to give Neil a new perspective to life and a chance at new beginnings. And I loved that in the book Neil was able to understand and acknowledge their efforts at some point.
In the book the author uses elements of astral travel, cosmic consciousness to showcase the mysterious mind of a nine year old and how these became his solace. While it is an engaging read, I experienced mixed emotions while reading it. It sparked unease about such issues affecting children at a young age. And there are playful illustrations which further enhance the storytelling experience, adding depth and dimension to Neil's journey.
Ultimately, I'm grateful for the ray of hope this book provides, and I believe it has the power to inspire understanding and support among families facing similar challenges.

The story is so exciting that i personally took only couple of week to finish it. Pls read this once . Thankyou.
Tbh when I looked the book I thought it would be a comic read or such .
But after reading it I was totally mesmerized.
Actually the book is based on the story of Niel. A child devoted from his parents love ( as they were always busy in work) gets addicted to mobile.
At first it seemed quite good and parent's were also fine as they weren't able to share their time with him and found mobile quite good alternative for their time.
But later Neil's phone addiction turned into depression and then to a disease. That leas him to hospital bed. Is his condition serious? Will he be fine?
*My opinion* Thr book is based on reality. Parent's relay their children on smart phones to avoid disturbance from children's. And this in turn spoils their child's health. . From some past data it was updated that today 90% of children have been provided with the facilities of smart phone, laptop's. Either for study or for fun. And it's excessive use can harm them. . Ioved this book n I'll recommend it to everyone.
The tale revolves round Neil, a 9-year-antique college-going boy, incredibly addicted to games and gadgets. His addictions bring him despair, so his worried parents change his surroundings which brings a alternate in Neil’s lifestyles. The rest of the story is ready how this bridge gap among technology and the environment are met.
This Is the Realistic Story and the Approach Through Which the Author Has Written the Story Is an Impressive. The Children Are Now Addicted to the Screen Because Their Parents Feel They Get Some Time to Work by means of Allowing Their Children to Have Fun on the Mobile Phones
Writing style of the e-book is good & unique one. It centered on the mental fitness of youngsters, the display time, dependancy of games & social media & how it destroys their lifestyles steadily is described inside the book pretty sensitively. Language used inside the e book is e-book it is easily comprehensible & the way author showcased her vocabulary abilties it is offers a pleasant studying enjoy.
"The gEucalyptus Tree" is a mysterious book in the fictional genre authored by Vijayalatha N. I usually admire reading books which is more of theoretical and this one is a perfect pick up. It deals with modern generation. Maximum of youth is just bothered about their mobile screens. Virtual reality seems to be more important than any other aspect.
Little do we realise the reality of overusing such modern day gadgets. They tend to distract as well as depress our minds; so much so that we forgot to enjoy the natural environment.
The storyline here revolves around the protagonist Neil who's lost into the virtual screen. He gradually falls a victim to depression. What do you think will happen next in the storyline? Will Neil be able to get out the depression? What will his addictive nature towards games, screens etc. will lead to? Know it all yourselves by just diving deep into the storyline. The language used is easy and the content is interesting. Highly recommended to book lovers.
We must have read many genres of love stories, frictional readings , non-fiction or sci fic reads too.
I found 'The gEucalyptus tree" having a beautiful detailed cover talks about a mine year old kid addictive to the world of video games and technologies.
Personally, I feel this topic is much needed as an awareness that today's generation is inclined towards such gadgets isn't worthy. Thanks to the author who brought up and highlighted this issue by portraying the protagonist Neil who is not even aware what all is happening in the real life of emotions, having a family, what it is to be in an environment full of people.
To over come the battle of depression what Neil has to go through the author has penned down every detail very aptly, describing the pain and thoughts suffered by him and family. Electronic gadgets and world seems to be a fashion but it is destroying the innocence of a child.
Read out to find this unique story , to read what all happened from the start and how it was cured at the end

The book is based on reality. Parent's relay their children on smart phones to avoid disturbance from children's. And this in turn spoils their child's health. The author here talks about the problem that is being faced by every person at present. This is a realistic story and the approach through which the author has written the story is an impressive. Most kids today are connected to some type of screen for hours every day, and this is enough to make them anxious, depressed and emotionally unbalanced.
Same this happened with a character Neil of this story. He is nine years old, and he is vigioriously devoted to the games. He uses to spend hours and hours on screen which resulted into the suffering from restlessness, detachment and anxiety.
There was a every possible step taken by his parents to track and put him on the right track also they put him to a completely new ecology. Children are malleable, being shaped according to their surroundings. Children are vivacious and colourful in their imagination. Giving them smartphones, screens limits their creativity.

The writing style of the author here is highly commendable, as the book has been written in a language that is lucid and easy to understand.

There is no exception and almost every parent stresses about how many hours their kids log on their tablet, smartphone or TV each day.
Spending too much time in front of a screen has been linked to a lack of sleep, speech delays and poor social skills.
The screen use either causes problems in other areas of life and has become an all-consuming activity.
The gEucalyptus Tree by Vijayalatha N is about a book about one such boy, Neil who is just addicted to screen.
In order to bring out the little boy out of this depression, his parents, helpless and seeing no other option, decide to opt for creating a new change of scene for him.
And thus begins the lovely journey of how this bridge gap of technology and environment is met through the book.
If I have to summarize this book in one word, then that would be 'BEAUTIFUL' because yes, it's so very beautiful.
