On the razor wire
It's an excellent sequel to this thriller, always on the edge, ready to switch an event between one version or another, even if it means tipping the innocent to the side of the guilty.
The story is thrilling from the start, especially because of the previous episode because Kay is still as troubled with the troubles that catch up with her, whether those of the past or those of the present; The judge has given Reese a crucial clue to discover the murderer of Kay's former lover's wife, and she has just escaped Portia's attempted murder. In short, everything is intertwined. Reese begins to see the picture of what is really going on, but uncovering the truth between the murders, the disappearances, the lies and the manipulations, seems more and more difficult to reach. It's exciting

Secrets, plot twists, deceptions, misdirections, and double-crosses. This book has everything that makes for an amazing mystery. And just when I think I’ve got a handle on where this series is going, the authors have to go and yank the rug out from under me. Again. I already feel like my mind is leaking out of my ears from all the things that have blown my perceptions sky high. I can’t even begin to guess where this will take us next.

The story is really heating up now! Kay's mask is slipping and her true colors and purpose are showing. Reese is finally putting the pieces together and making some headway and figuring out that it goes beyond his one case in a tangled web that all goes back to one person. Can I just say that Sallie is a waste of time? I wonder if he is in on this somehow with a cover up. So many connections.

I voluntarily reviewed a cooy of "BRUTAL" OMG!!!! Things are happening secrets are revealed, more info comes forward, another dead body, suspense, intrigue, mystery, surprising twists have you turning the pages.

Officer Milo Reese goes against his Boss Sallie getting new info on Lacey Davenports murder has him changing his path he wants the truth but this could cost him his career he's still trying to figure out what the case file Eddleman told him about has to do with any of it.
I definitely recommend to get this on the edge of your seat story with surprising twists the cliffhanger had you wanting the next book now "FRAUD" to see what going up happens next. AWESOME AWESOME READ!!!!

Brutal intent to lead the reader
Kay, a new lawyer, is working to build her client’s case, while Reese, a detective turned crime scene investigator, is starting to build his case against her client after the events in Intent. As the story progresses the tide turns, the cookie crumbles, and one bird in hand is definitely turning out easier than trying to get the two left in the bush. W.L. Knightly has an almost brutal intent to lead the reader further down the trail in Brutal. The shadows of doubt has been lifted, but getting the proof needed may be hard when the road blocks keep piling up.

Twists and turns, secrets and lies and the suspense never lets up. Kay is still trying to make her case, Reese is in it up to his eyes and he discovers more in this story. You MUST read these in order to get the full story, this does not stand alone. The tension is stretched to the breaking point. Plan to read straight through there aren't any "breaking" points. Kay may or may not be who you think, Reese may or may not be who you think, there are still surprises and when you think you have it figured out, you'll have to read on to only to find that there is still more to the story. Loved it!

The book starts from where it ended in the previous book. Its an interesting series and as it doesnt let you make a clear sense of Kay. Is she innocent in everything? Whats her truth? Sometimes you think she has a hand in something but other times when she thinks about her past then it feels she is innocent.
She is recovering from Portia attack and is haunted by how close she came to death.
Reese Milo receives new information and feels he is getting closer to the truth. Will he discover the real truth of the murders and secrets?
Cant wait to read the next book.

The suspense, secrets, lies and mystery continue in this next book in the series.
Kay survives a threat on her life. She was able to push Portia into the fire. Was this for survival or something more sinister. Is Kay more devious and twisted than we thought?
Reese is gathering information on The Davenport murder but then a new piece of evidence is revealed. Time to rethink this case but can his new direction possibly cost him his career?
There is so much still going on and finding the right guilty party isn't easy.
I need the next book this cliffhanger has me thinking all kinds of stuff.

In a word…Manipulative! It appears Katie did her homework and Kay is the one who is utilising the information. Like most legal eagles, she has them eating from the palms of her hands with cleverly thought out words. Although there may be a loose thread or two about to unravel as Reese stays hot on Kay’s trail, against Sallie’s orders. Which has me pondering why he is hell bent on leading Reese away from her and why it appears the department is stalling. Honestly, I wish Marnie would get lost shopping, I can feel Kay’s irritation every time she pops up.

Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story.

This continues with Kay waking up in an ambulance with an oxygen mask on. Officer Milo is still on the Davenport case and trying to figure out what the case file Eddleman had to do with anything. More things are revealed, an unexpected death and the plot thickens. The mystery and suspense takes us on a thrilling ride winding through twists and turns with a surprise cliffhanger.

I still can’t figure out whether Kay is the good guy or the bad guy. But her character is captivating. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Kay is looking into her clients case but she keeps showing up in situations that she has no reason to. Reese is still looking into her having involvement in this case but he’s bern warned to no look at her. He knows he’s risking his job but he knows something is off with her. She wins her cases but to what extent is she willing to go? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Fabulous can't get enough
Book 3 and the twists just keep coming. Officer Milo is on to something, but is his judgement being clouded by the man who saved his life. Kay managed to get out of the fire bit is she who she comes across as or is she hiding some dark secrets. Highly recommend

Kay Havelin survives an attempt on her life. She is getting ready to defend Daniel who is accused of murdering his wife. New information may turn things in a different direction. The story line takes you in different directions. A thrilling ride and a cliff hanger making you want more.

This book took me a while to get into. Once I was, I could see where the story was going and by the end of the book I knew what was going to happen. There was one but that I wasn’t expecting and now I’m intrigued to read the next book

Surviving a dangerous attack, Kay tries to find out the truth. This book kept me wondering what could possibly happen next. Strong characters to make this a book worth reading.

So many questions and tons of connections between the characters within. Another good addition to a series that to me is a bit of a nail biter.
