Am I right? You're smarter than most, embrace old fashioned morals, love your country, dogs, and guns... and dig ruthless fiction...
Hi! I'm Clayton Lindemuth, and my novels embrace rural noir truth. Mind your own business, be slow to anger. But don't ever back down to evil. Justice happens when the wicked die.
If we're tracking so far, I wrote My Brother's Destroyer, and all the rest, just for you.
You'll stay awake too late, underline fun new ways to cuss, muse about new philosophies and read random passages to strangers to make the world a better place.
Literary depth. Thriller pace. If you've got the stomach to watch evil men die, dress for the woods and grab a lamp. We've work to do.
I don't want to give too much away, but let's just start by saying I downloaded it Thursday and finished it Friday. It was "can't put down" good. I've ready every Baer and Shirley book, and a few others by Clayton. What made this book so enjoyable to me was that he was able to tell this story in all the characters' voices. I already know and love Baer, and was ecstatic when I realized that he and Tat were the "trespassers." A bigger treat was Tat delivering Baer's son! The instant transformation in Baer's spirit upon Moxie's arrival was evident, and very touching. Although both Baer and Frank shared a strong sense of integrity, the way they projected and upheld that honor code was vastly different, and in Frank's case, is what created the toxic relationship between him and his only son, Linc, who by the way, proved to be more honorable, strong, and honest that his dad ever gave him credit for. It took Baer, as only Baer could, to break it all down in a way that both Linc and Frank could understand, appreciate, and embrace. I love the kinder, gentler Baer. I love that he can use his gift to not only see evil, but good as well. All in all - another 10 for me!!!
This book cemented my absolute amazement at the writing skill of Clayton Lindemuth! He takes you down a road that is at first somewhat depressing as he builds the characters, and draws you in while bringing you to a greater understanding of the human condition, then wraps it up with a heartwarming ending that will leave you not only wanting, but CRAVING more! I give it 5 stars only because that's the highest rating allowed! Thank you, Clayton, for sharing your amazing talent!!!!
Lincoln is a farm boy through and through. Normal as a boy whose mother died giving birth to him, and whose father rages regularly against the hardness of the world. One seriously Pennsylvania winter Lincoln and his father are forced to fight against a team of brothers determined to get the best of them, or die trying. Luck or fate or the universal truths deliver help in the form of a mother, her newborn, her husband, and a dog who seems like he can almost talk.
Love Clayton Lindemuth’s writing! He writes a darn good story and includes philosophy of life for everyone. I have read all his books and I am a better person for it.
What I like most is what Baer has become...I have read all the books and enjoyed them. The transition from moonshine to savant has been a brilliant experience for me.
Yet again, Clayton Lingemuth entertained me for a few days with a story I just couldn’t put down. His fictional dark mystery, action packed story with a just a touch of paranormal is a unique and potent combination. Warning...can be habit forming...
I love this series and the journey Baer has been on, each book gets a little better. Maybe the author is improving or I'm just invested in the characters. Either way I enjoy them all.
I love Clayton Lindemuth ! He writes a story like not many can ! I've read his other books, and this book has the same action as the rest. Baer is one of the best characters in any book I've read. People can really relate to him. I highly recommend it !
Awesome book. I couldn’t put it down until I finished. That’s how all his books are. Such a delightful Author. Makes you feel like you’re right there in the story itself.
Oh everytime I finish one of Calyton's books I just wish I hadn't come to the end! This was no exception. I only have one more of his to read - roll on March next year when his next book is out! By the way.....more Baer Creighton PLEASE!
At this stage in my life, 59 years old, the situations Frank experienced called to questions of my own. Thanks l, once again, for setting the stage for personal review and the ability to shift gears towards what can truly help define your purpose.
I can’t remember a book from another author that speaks to the reader as this one did to me. All I can say to the author is “please keep writing “. Thank you
This Baer book is about his transformation and he now sees other colors in people. The characters are wonderful and I can see them and hear them speak.
I believe this story relates to more people than we first imagine. I can't think of eight more words to complete the 20 required. It's all in the heart.
Having read, I believe everything written by “Baer” Lindemuth and followed him on Facebook I enjoyed this book a lot. A different direction than some of his other great writing but an enjoyable book with just enough of his style from past books. Thank you Sir the book hit home.
