The hunt is on - and there are only a million zombies standing in our way.
Once more reunited after the successful attack on the slaver camp, Bree and Nate have a new goal in life: to hunt down the man responsible for turning hundreds of soldiers into mindless worker drones, and repeatedly drugging the arena fighters—Nate and Hamilton chiefly among them. This could turn out to be their most dangerous mission yet, and not even the support of old friends and new allies alike might be enough for them to succeed. But with no other options left and time running out, there’s no alternative to risking their lives once more. What is it with villains and their zombie-infested hideouts?
Books in the series (so far): #1: Incubation #2: Outbreak #3: Escalation #4: Extinction #5: Resurgence #6: Unity #7: Affliction #8: Catharsis #9: Exodus #10: Uprising #11: Retribution
I love this series - the best series and story overall that happens to have zombies in it. Definitely recommend it if you like a strong, sometimes too winey MFC that beats all odds and, with a huge baggage of lost friends and innocence, comes on top. In the books i did not fully appreciate Nate's character (MMC) and his internal conflict he does not allow his people and the reader see during a high action filled story. I thin kit makes sense to read the books one after the other but i also enjoyed Nate's POV stories that rounded him up for me. He feels he is loosing himself and gets to the background during development of the story but you can see that he chooses to allow his wife to be in the forefront and that he changes significantly his stance during the story development. Another important thing that does not really transpire in the books is that he loves Bree passionately from the beginning and the drama and tension between them is really generating from Bree's personal insecurity and doubts.
I am so disappointed these books used to be my favorite, the last 3 books I have not been able to really get into. Nate has just been such an ass in the past 9 books honestly at times it feels like he just uses Bree and doesn’t really care about her much. He says he does but it feels like he’s just saying that to appease her.
His actions in no way match his words which makes it so hard to believe that she’s so important to him. The sad part is that Bree knows it. Other people have to tell her that he loves her and that she’s important to him, I’m not sure if this is done to somehow validate his feelings I think a little showing would go along way to believing he does feel something for her.
Although I still love this series, after the last book it was hard for me to care as much, the story drawing out so far, yet I’m glad I finished this book! It ended on another cliff hanger, pulling me right into the next one! I am devoted to finding out how it ends! Still in love with the characters and feeling a bit sad for them at this point! It just seems like nothing goes their way! Again, highly recommend the audible version as the narrator is so fun to listen to!
I’ll admit, I continue reading at times just because I’ve spent so much time reading the series. I mean, how much more can a person take? (Meaning Bree.) But alas, the story turns, and one unexpected piece of information keeps me hanging on! Although I did foresee what “no one” suspected- I’m just surprised it took so long TO happen. Eagerly moving on to the last book!
This book had so many OMG moments for me! I love the quick pace and how I can never seem to get enough. I was almost late to work multiple times because I just couldn't stop reading. So many unexpected situations.... made my jaw drop a few times.
Thank you Adrienne Lecter for another marvelous book! Although, I am incredibly sad that it's almost the end of the ride, and I'll have to say goodbye to Bree and company.
The nasty heroine continues her trip to hell by visiting Downtown Dallas. You guessed it, it's full of Zombies who are terribly hungry after 3 years. The tight storyline, well written and continuously thrilling adventures are a pleasure to read and follow. Already a quarter of the way through #12 and I quite frankly don't know what to do after I finish this series.
Just when you think shamblers are the biggest threat to humanity A. Lecter serves up a phenomenal villain. Will Nate and his folks including the very hard to kill Bree find him? I hope so. If I could reach in between the lines I would grab Decker myself. Who’s with me?
Excellent series . I also like the recap at the beginning of every book . It goes over the main points of the plot so if there has been a time lapse between each book you can pick up where you left off . Blood thirsty violent and a must read for any zombie apocalypse fan.
Another great story! i can’t wAit to read the last book! These are pretty quick reads but it’s because you just can’t wait to find out what happens next!! I just hate Nate’s new eating habits!!
Hell of a book! Excellent descriptions and storytelling are a plus in this next to the last book of the series. Bree and Nate are still going strong and I hope the both make it.
I just fell in love with this series in the middle of the first book. I only have one more to go. I can't start it today. I need several free hours to read it without interruption. I can't wait.
Yet another good story in this series. It seems that Bree and Nate can't catch a break. I hope that they will finally be able to live peacefully for awhile
OMG!!! I cannot our these books down!! I reread the series every time a new one comes out and am so excited for the last installment! I recommend these to all dystopian readers! Drama, intrigue, love, hate, and everything in between! This book series is a definite favorite!
Once again an outstanding development to an unput downable series.Adrienne Lecter is a formidable author. The tension builds with every page and by the time Bree,Nate and the group reach their destination I was there with them. Every book in this series is exquisitely crafted. The amount of descriptive detail in this book blew me away. I know if I ever visit Dallas, or a BS4 lab I will know exactly where I am but will live in fear of the undead. The book has many poignant moments. Nate still coming to terms with the traumatic time he spent in captivity and Bree discovering most painful betrayal to name but a few. There were twists and surprises all the way,and I can't wait for the last book in the series to see how the plot ultimately unfolds.
Each book in this series exceeds the previous one. I don't know how she does it. Each book in the series gives you more and more info on the man made bioweapon unleashed on an unsuspecting world. Gives you more info on the small group of fighters who have to fight not only the virus and the creatures who's brains have been turned to mush, but also the military and scientific brains that thought this was a good idea.
Adrienne has done it again. I tend to fade out on most “series” books, but somehow this author has continued to keep me enthralled in this one. You get to know her characters so well that you either love them or hate them, with a passion few authors can pull off so well. This is one series I already know I will reread from start to finish when it draws to a conclusion. Yes, it is THAT good!
I'm not ready for this series to end at 12!! I fell in love with this series from the beginning and book 11 doesn't disappoint. Full of it's usual witt, science and don't forget the shamblers! Bree and Nate' s relationship is as complex as ever before, throw in Bucky to the mix was always going to be interesting. Another triumph for Adrienne
And the plot thickens! I’ve been hooked on this series for what feels like forever. I never lose interest as the author continues to add layer upon layer of action, excitement and intrigue. I know the next book is the last and I’m truly eager and devastated all at the same time. I don’t want it to end yet damn, I’ve got to find out the missing pieces to this phenomenal puzzle.
Gripping and terrifying! This series is so well written you feel like you are part of the group. Everything is so realistic it’s scary. Definitely 5/5 #zompoc #romance #asskicking #devourit
Fantastic read. I could not put it down! Ms Lecter knocked it out of the park with this one . I've loved this series form the get go. She has grown as an author with each novel. I could not put this down and finished in one day!
I love this series. It is gritty, bloody with zombies that are terrifying. But, it also has a terrific story of heroes, bad guys and even a bond of love between people that touches your heart and makes you wish there was a Nate (or Bree) for real.
I was so disappointed in this book 11 in the series. Very little action and rehashing over and over about the shots to be a cure that didn't work, about her hands and rotting from the inside out. Wanted more Zombie action. had to get well into the book before they even saw Zombies.
Every book of Green Fields that I have read this far has been thrilling, exciting, turn paging action packed adventure of zombie virus stricken world. Can't wait for the last book to come out - wish it you never end. Thank-you.
I cannot believe this is the 11th book of this series and I have read each and every one with such veracity! Cannot wait for #12! Also the ending ?! Crazy to think it will be over. Loved the twist in this one - totally didn’t see it coming! #ihatedecker
I just love this series of books and will be disappointed when it comes to an end that said couldn't believe how fast I read it and before I knew it was done! Looking forward to book 12 and Bree with her neurotic ways! Thanks again Adrienne for another great read!!
What can I say that I haven't said about the previous 10 books? Nothing. Like the 10 before it, this one was amazing and fun to read. Now I am off to read the 12th and final book of this series and I will be sorry to see it end.
Wow this has been a journey and one I’m so happy to have gone on. As we move on to the last book I’m so excited and sad. This book was amazing and awesome and I can’t wait for the next one.
