The E Word: An Evangelistic Manifesto

Rate this book
Can the 2,000-year-old story of Jesus actually make a difference in our modern culture?

Does the Church even matter in our age of deconstructed truth and reality?

Can a movement that has become an institution become a movement again?

Why has the Church exited the conversation that is going on in today’s culture?

These questions and more have left the Church in North America searching for its place in modern culture.

Dealing with these questions—both personally and corporately—will allow us to regain the strength and influence the Church once held.

I actually appreciated this book more the second time through. I still felt the tension of what felt like criticism of the current social justice push. In some ways in the first part of the book it felt seclusive from the current reality rather than an admonition to remain in it.

But as the book goes on, I found it inspiring and challenging. A great reminder to remain white-hot and to pursue deep and meaningful relationship with those who don’t yet know Jesus.
