I loved, loved, loved this book so much!

I expected to learn a few bits from the artists that are mentioned in the book, but I discovered much more!

- Élisabeth Luoise Vigée Le Brun
- Frida Kahlo
- Amrita Sher-Gil
- Käthe Kollwitz
- Dame Laura Knight
- Emily Kame Kngwarreye
- Faith Ringgold
- Peggy Guggenheim

Eight incredible women, who fought against the patriarchy, against their own families, the stereotypes, against what society thought women should be and against everything else that they encountered in the way, like war, death, loss and criticism.

More books like this one is what we need. I adored it!

Once again Kate Pankhurst has written a wonderful book for children, this time about female artists and their stories. A wonderful introduction for young readers to the world of art and the history of some famous female artists.
Written in a very engaging style with wonderful illustrations, my daughter loved it.
I recommend this for anyone to read and share with their children.

Thanks to Bloomsbury and Netgalley for the ARC of this book.

I loved this exploration of female artists. It is one of my favourite things that there is so many books about women in history and women in art. There is so much I did not know growing up that I have learned through children's books as an adult.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves feminism, history, or children's books. It is not as expensive as the books by Vashti Harrison or Rachel Ignotofsky but it hoes into greater detail of the women's life.
