Noah and Calla are high, hungry, and should probably go outside. Unfortunately, the outside sucks. You can’t even get a burger without the whole place almost burning down!
Michael Sweater combines 90s animation nostalgia, sitcom antics, and a seasoning of stoner comedy in this new series. Includes stickers and a double-sided poster!
Super quick read, really funny, and I really liked the art, it's very colorful. I feel like adult media always looks the same, always gritty looking while this has a cool style. Main character is pretty unlikable, but at least the comic agknowledges that he's awful. Other characters are just there to go along with his antics, I liked the possum guy he was super funny. I'm gonna try to get my hands on the other issues, just for the art and the humor.
Stoner comix, alt comix. Is there anything offensive in it? Of course! You go looking for alternative comix, stoner comix, you don't get Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm! Pretty funny in a Harold and Kumar, Beavis and Butthead kinda way. More funny than offensive, I thought. Silver Sprocket Press, for free on Hoopla.
Stoner buddies complain, get hungry, and have a disproportionate adventure while visiting a fast food restaurant. I've read comics of this nature before, and it doesn't fall into the gutters of being too braindead or too mean-spirited, as some of them do.
Everything Sucks is a funny, silly, punk-vibe comic that doesn’t take itself too seriously—exactly the point. Scrappy, irreverent, full of weird little moments & zero plot. So happy I found a bunch more of them still to read on Hoopla.
I read this on the recommendation of my favorite Aussie YouTuber, NerdBurgerCazz. It was not as great as she purported it to be. The characters were a bunch of anthropomorphic potheads and it was really dumb. I liked the illustrations and the color palette, but those are the nicest things I can say about this collection. I like supporting smaller publishers, but it's a bit trickier when their content is a bit strange. Absolute buffoonery and at least the title was accurate.
Haha. I work with the guy who does Kam Komics and he’s in charge of GN at the library. We have been slowly getting all of this author’s comics and they are great!!
