A lovely story about three young women and their complicated lives, blending hard realism, holistic ideology and hope.
The writer gives you a glimpse of ordinary people in a stressful cosmopolitan culture and their struggles as each character goes through certain experiences in search of a sense of identity and purpose in life.
There is anguish, loneliness, and uncertainty as each of the characters travels a different path to achieve balance in their chaotic relationships and dealing with the world around them. Familial bonds are strengthened along with finding true friendship, love, and tranquility, on the path of self-discovery.
It's a wholesome story. Fiction is such a great way to send out an important message that may otherwise not be understood unless one has a bird's-eye perspective of life. As always, Ruchira Khanna tempers a simple fictional narrative with the philosophy of truth, peace and balance that are the basis for all her writings.

This story is about three friends who are from different backgrounds. They share a house and their feelings. They are there for each other, in happiness and sadness.
What I liked about the book that it is not just a love story, it is a story of friendship, understanding, companionship and love. It is a story of sacrifices and losses.
The characters are realistic and relatable. The language is simple and well written. The concept is different: The story compares humans and their feelings to a car and its tyres.
A must, must read.

The author shares multiple emotional journeys with us. Her characters are friends, daughters, lovers and each has his/her own dreams. The writing style is quirky and uses just the right number of words - no dull moments or extra fluff. A good weekend read!

The book has unique title and blurb that caught my interest. I will briefly summarise the blurb here to give you idea. The story started in 2000 in New Delhi. Rahil having conversations with his parents and then story shifted to 2003. He closed a deal with a customer about a car. Rahil is a car geek and attributes his desires to the four wheels of the car. Another important character is Joan. She works at a store and she is helpful. She patiently attend all the customers and even don’t mind swiping the short amount with her card. She is on the lookout for a meaningful relationship as her unpleasant past gives her nightmares. Amy was working at a salon cleaning arms and feet of customer. She was applying job according to her qualifications. She works hard but get paid less. Amy is hungry for happiness as her career has hit the

The car in the story symbolically represents the journey of life—a delicate balance, a move forward, and a stay strong. The beauty of the narrative is exhibited through love and friendship, heartbreaks, and finally a way to grow, but all the while being dipped in hopefulness.
The writing is fluid and easily digestible. Each character is fighting his or her own battles: Rahil loves cars, Amy is finding her happiness, Joan is yearning for deeper relationships, and Tara is burdened with health issues. Their individual journeys feel credible and emotional, thus becoming easier for the reader to connect with.
My favourite piece from the book:
"But I need tacky names.” “Let’s do it!” For once, Tara was as enthusiastic as before her illness had crept in. Her eyes were sparkling, she had the vigor like before, and even her skin was glowing. Grease, steering, axle, suspension, valves, engine, and cylindrical were some names that Tara chipped in when Rahil narrated each of his dishes.
The final outcome:
Baba Black Grease Black lentils cooked overnight with cumin, onions, chilies, butter, ginger, and garlic.
Tropical Steering Lamb chunks marinated in chilly and yogurt and grilled with tropical fruits.
Butter Suspension Chicken suspended in butter curry and cooked with spices.
I love this beautiful fusion of creativeness with tenderness, and the interchange of Tara with Rahil. And her engagement with naming the dishes gives the moment a playful yet meaningful depth, as if she’s reclaiming her energy through wit and involvement.
The generally inspiring and uplifting book is borderline cliché in a few places. But actually, in the presence of credibly strong characters and messages, this offers a pleasant reading encounter. If you appreciate books featuring stories about hope and strength, then you'll surely enjoy this one.

The story moves with an original perspective, treating the car as a metaphor for life itself, in which the four wheels symbolize health, happiness, wealth, and relationships; the characters work through challenges-the relational and the personal-in themes of love, heartbreak, self-discovery, and an attempt to find balance in a very crazy world. The story chronicles equally the inner world of the characters with the external events happening to them-illustrating how life, with all its detours and bumps, shapes and makes us what we are.
A particular scene where I find it to be really cute was, when Rahil was waiting for Tara to look at him atleast once in her class. After confession, all the students were silently siding with him, but Tara chose not to have a conversation at that time. I can't explain the feeling, but this one felt very special, very realistic.

I just finished reading “The car with a Soul” by Ruchira Khanna, and I’m still reeling from the amazing experience. This beautifully crafted novel takes readers on a spirited journey with four unique individuals - named Rahil, Amy, Joan, and Tara - as they steer through love, heartbreak, friendship and Self-discovery.
The novel’s clever use of a vehicle as an analogy for life’s balance, robustness, and momentum adds a unique layer of profundity to the story.
As I started reading the novel, I was literally not expecting the story to continue with so much passion but as I moved forward the beginning started to make sense eventually. The use of the phrase “I wish you health, wealth, happiness, and sound relations just like the four wheels of your car,” by one of the protagonists Rahil who greets his clients with the same phrase makes sense when the 4 protagonists came together and the author's use of Vehicle as a metaphor for life’s journey is a brilliant touch, adding a coating of depth and meaning to the narrative.
“Success is not measured by the car I drive. It's the physical and mental state I'm in, that counts.” This quote resonated deeply with me, and I think it will with many readers too, it's a powerful reminder that true success comes from within.
This book is more than just a story- it’s an exploration of what it means to be human. It's about the battles we face, the relationships we build, and the metamorphosis we experience along the way. While some instants may feel predictable, the emotional resonance of the story stays with you long after you finish reading.
In my opinion:- Out of all the four charactes, my favourite one was Tara. Despite her health issues she still has the strength to be the most empathetic character in her group.

I had read the author's previous works and they were great so I knew what to expect from her.
Rahil a car geek, who wanted to mend his relationship with his brother. Amy, worked in a salon and craved for happiness as she never had good relationship with her parents. Joan wanted meaningful relationships. Tara had it all but life threw a bouncer at her.
It's a story of four different people with their different plots. And how they deal with life and in the end what they learn.

"Car with a Soul" is a book that I truly enjoy reading and something that has a lot of life lessons. Four people - Rahil, Amy, Joan and Tara - are followed in the book reflecting the many challenges that they faced in life. Together they begin a road trip, and over time they become close and honest. The author, in a smart way, portrayed how they encourage each other and move together despite the many obstacles they face in life.
Furthermore, it was the way their friendship develops naturally that truly hooked me to the novel. From different backgrounds, however, they have a deep connection and provide strength and comfort to each other.
An unforgettable moment in the novel comes up during the road trip with Rahil, Amy, Joan, and Tara where their car broke down unexpectedly in some bleak, actually gritty setting. The story is not a coming of age tale. All the characters in this story are matured enough to know what they want in life and how to reach their destination. All the characters in the story have their own car (metaphor of life) in which the four wheels are the metaphors of different aspects - happiness, health, wealth, and relationships. Life is never free of problems or pain, in the same way these cars also develop a problem. The story is main about Tara, Amy, Joan and Rahul. These four people have to face different dimensions and requirements in their life; one is in search of a family, other is trying to find her individuality, the third is happy in living a life that gives her happiness but suddenly one of her tyre is punctured and the fourth is trying to rebond with family. Will they be able to solve their problems and move on in life, this becomes a story.
This book isa pleasure to read because the script is relatable to present life and the style of narration is simple and cool. I have read many stories which are written with the mention of metaphor but this was new and sweet. Sometimes we have to break up from a few things because eventually it will be a burden that does not wish to be with us (as for Joan). 'Car with a soul' is one of the amazing book which I had read recently.The first thing which attracted me towards this book was its title.I am not a car geek at present but was earlier.Also,the cover gave me the vibes of ZNMD.
The story revolves around 4 characters where each one has their own back stories,past life,and struggle.
Somewhere,yess I will say this is kinda ZNMD read.Because just how hritik,Ahat and Farhan had their own life struggles and past life trauma the characters of this book had.And the way in which the author has narrated their emotions is a treat to read.
I loved the character development and how each one was shown distinctive.The book is 243 pages but it will not seem a long read once you start reading it.

The Car With A Soul is a potpourri of multiple emotions and life aspects in the form of a light and refreshing book. It is an emotional and uplifting story of love, heartbreak, laughter, and friendship falling into the genre called a slice of life but sometimes offering more intensity keeping the book interesting and making it engaging to read.
The best thing about this book is well written characters which are multi dimensional with their own past and stories. Moreover, these characters feel very realistic and relatable, they are ambitious, have their own share of struggles and their own distinct and likeable personalities. The story too is good and keeps the reader engaged and fairly entertained.

The Car With A Soul is a story with a difference.
First I thought it must be a story of a walking talking car due to the title but as I started reading the story, I realized it’s about four individuals who are going through a lot in their lives.
But then what’s the link then? Well, one must read the book to understand. But the manner in which Author Ruchira has linked the philosophy of life, the car parts, and the lives of the four protagonists is commendable.
Initially, I found the flow of the story a bit slow as I was engrossed in finding the link between the title and the plot but, as I progressed I found it an interesting read.
I liked reading The Car With A Soul (though I still wonder why the author chose this title) and I would surely recommend everyone to read it once.

A Car has four wheels. Likewise our life also has four wheels which is described as health, wealth, happiness and relationship. The author has amazingly penned down this wonderful book to all of us with better explanation of life and relationship. I found this book as a new and conceptual read. The author compares our lives as the four wheels of a car which makes our life smooth and well-balanced. The characters of all the four protagonists were well-developed and the author has given equal importance to all the characters.
I just loved the concept of the story, the title of the book and also the names given to the protagonists such as Rahil, Amy, Tara and Joan.
