Some Secrets are Better Left Unknown Facing his demons, paranormal P.I. and former Texas Ranger Mason Redstone enters therapy. Adjusting to his new surroundings, he’ll befriend other patients, face unexpected spirit encounters and confront his difficult past. But his new patrons will offer more than support. They’ll reveal dark rumors about former patients who’ve died suspiciously. Curious, he’ll use his investigative skills to search for the truth, but his discoveries may turn friends into enemies.
With Mason absent, his sister Mikey and partner Trick must rely on another gifted paranormal investigator to help keep their agency afloat. But his involvement could complicate more than their cases and force Mikey to make a hard decision.
Taking a case of their own, Trick and Mikey help a woman from Mikey's past investigate the suspicious death of her sister, but their digging will expose unexpected secrets that will link Mason to a conspiracy, and a killer who will stop at nothing to protect himself...and his next victim could be Mason.
Lost Chances is book three in The Redstone Chronicles. Featured in J.T. Bishop’s Of Breath and Blood, Mason Redstone revealed his skills as a paranormal afficionado and a former Texas Ranger. If you love a supernatural thriller, a heaping dose of suspense, a compelling murder mystery, and unique and engaging characters, then grab your copy of Lost Chances.
Award-winning author, J.T. Bishop, is a writer of mystery thrillers with a supernatural edge. Growing up, she read books by Stephen King, Mary Higgins Clark, and Dean Koontz, devoured every episode of The X-files, and watched plenty of TV shows with great partnerships that left her wanting more. She loves tangled relationships, unexpected twists and turns, heart-stopping love stories and the complications that come with all the above. Throw in a little supernatural fun and she’s hooked. Her evil plan is to hook you, too.
She’s the author of The Red-Line Trilogy and its sister series, The Fletcher Family Saga, which features touches of urban fantasy, light sci-fi, and paranormal romance. She’s also happily writing mystery thrillers featuring two charismatic detectives who may occasionally encounter a supernatural villain or two, and a crossover series which follows the exploits of a gifted, but troubled, paranormal P.I. and his spunky sister.
All the above keeps her busy, but in her spare time, she loves a good movie, tasty food, an unfortunate sugar addiction, and traveling.

“Lost Chances – Heed the Voices of the Dead” is the third book in The Redstone Chronicles by J.T. Bishop. We were first introduced to former Texas Ranger Mason Redstone and his sister Mikey in the Detectives Daniels and Remalla series, which remains my all-time favorite.
Mason is a paranormal investigator who heads the SCOPE agency with Mikey and another former Texas Ranger named Trick. Unlike the other two PIs, Mason learned at an early age that he can see and hear the dead. Unfortunately, he has become addicted to pain pills and checks into a lavish rehab center. However, all is not as it appears, as ghostly former patients reach out to him, he learns he is surrounded by secrets, and is eventually forced to confront his own troubled past. It quickly becomes a life and death situation filled with the twists and turns I’ve come to expect that keep me on the edge of my seat, as well as familiar faces from the previous series that weave in and out.
A prolific writer, Ms. Bishop continues to grab me at the start and keep me reading through the night. I find her books impossible to put down. Consider me hooked!
A wonderful complex story that keeps you thinking. We have a paranormal detective Mason, who was a former Texas Ranger who goes in for treatment. There he befriends other patients has paranormal visitors that tell him of previous patients who have died under suspicious circumstances. His has left his practice to his partner and his sister to handle. Things become more complicated when Trick and Mikey take a case of Woman's sister's suspicious death. They find that there is a killer involved who will do nothing to protect himself, including killing Mason. This is one of those books with so many twists and turns, that you think you have it all figured out when you discovered you are one step behind. I highly recommend this novel and recommend that you read the entire series in order. I received this novel from BookFunnel and this is my honest review.
Lost Chances: A Paranormal P.I. Mystery Thriller (The Redstone Chronicles Book 3), my sixth read from author J.T. Bishop and the third book in the Redstone Chronicles. It was nice to see Detectives Daniels and Remalla make a significant appearance as they're my favorite Bishop characters. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. The book was well-written & flowed smoothly & quickly. I look forward to reading more from this author and in particular Lost Hope: A Paranormal P.I. Mystery Thriller (The Redstone Chronicles Book 4). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
I just finished reading Lost Chances, and the more I read the better the books become! As I have written before, if you haven’t read a book written by J.T Bishop then I really don’t know what to say. You are missing out on some of the best author that is out there: As I will reiterate this because I personally believe that you need to at least give her a try! I’m positive that you will keep going back for more. Thanks JT for all the great hours you’ve given me, and will keep doing what you do best.
I've been reading thru all the Remalla/Daniels novels, and they're all great. But I keep wondering.. Why is everyone in these books positively OBSESSED with drinking water??? Water is great when you're thirsty, great for taking pills.. But it's not a beverage for drinking with meals, nor a "social" beverage. I'm a recovering alcoholic, personally, so it's nice to find characters who aren't constantly drinking beer or cocktails, and I don't drink coffee, but c'mon, WATER??? What about iced tea???
This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Mason was a drug addict and was given a free ride to an exclusive rehab facility. As an ex Texas Ranger possessing physical abilities to see and communicate with dead people, he quickly encountered some problems. The dead ghosts were trying to tell him something. The book moves along at a leisurely pace. The complex interaction between the main characters is confusing and takes some of the focus off the main plot.
Mason, ex Texas Ranger and now a PI, leaves to go to a rehab facility called Windhaven. Mickey and Trick are left to handle the business. They take on a case of a suspicious death of a sister. Mason sees gift of paranormal visions come into play. Mysterious deaths that have been covered up. Mystery and suspense with a lot of twists to keep you guessing.
The crossover between the different series in this edition made it even better. Adding more characters with both evil and good intentions makes the story more complex, more puzzling, therefore making it more interesting and enjoyable. Who would have thought police work and the paranormal could make for an interesting combination.
Trouble follows Mason it seems. He is in rehab and finds suspicious activity and unexplained deaths when the spirits talk to him. Mikey and the crew are on the case and save him but has the treatment saved him unlike some of the others. Good plot with not too much paranormal stuff and a connection to the past events plus an opening to the future. When will Margaret show her hand ?
A truly disturbing novel which goes from weird to weirder. Everyone seems to be under the influence of somebody or something, particularly strange hallousinational drugs. From start to finish it is almost impossible to work out the good guys from the evil participants.
Another cracking story from this author, I do love how it all comes together at the end, like rope strands. This time it needs more help than ever to solve it. What are we going to get in the next one I wonder, cannot wait to find out. Highly recommended.

This book was an excellent installment in this universe, and I was thrilled with the amount of time REM and Daniel’s got in it. The case is complex, twisted, and keeps you guessing until the end. Nailed it!
Great believable characters that make the book what it is. Plenty of action and suspense to keep you intrigued Hoping to read many more by this superb author.
This a great story which is a continuing of the family of paranormal pi who talk to the dead and ghosts and drug testing on people with their consent and murders
It was a great read but am quite disappointed that of course the story didn’t end…..will need to buy the next book if I want to know more….really hate that
I really enjoyed this complex, but not confusing, supernatural story. The story flowed well and kept my attention. Since this is the third book in the series and the first book I have read from this series, I am now interested in going back and reading the first two books.
THE REDSTONE CHRONICLES, Books 1- 3 Source: The author; individual stories, my Kindle library. LOST SOULS, #1 - Interesting introduction to a series related to another series, Daniels and Remalla. I like the writing style of this author. Interesting story lines and good characters set to a good pace. 4*
LOST DREAMS, #2 - The story lines and characters are interesting along with a steady pace. 4*
LOST CHANCES, #3 - Interesting story lines. Interesting characters. I like this series as much as I like Daniels and Remalla. 4*
SHADOWS AND SECRETS: A Detectives Daniels and Remalla Omnibus Collection Books 1-3 Source: The author; Individual stories, my Kindle library. 4*
HAUNTED RIVER, #1 - Interesting and intriguing story lines. Good characters. A bit of ghosts and nightmares. Humor. The last chapter sets up the next book. 4*
OF BREATH AND BLOOD, #2 - Starts about a month after HR ends. Intense. Dark. More self-discoveries that border paranormal. 5*
OF BODY SND BONE, #3 - Picks up three months after OBAB. More paranormal experiences. Interesting. Sadly, ends short, must continue on to find out what happens after the bombshell. 4*
ILLUSIONS, #8 - The author warned to read the previous book of this series before reading Illusions. I did not since I did not have a copy and did not miss the book until I read the last chapter of this book. The story continues in another book although small pieces of the big puzzle were found but the ending did not satisfy me. The previous books are not rehashed, just bits mentioned here and there, which did not interfere with the story lines. I would recommend reading the previous books since there's more to the story ranging over at least one more book. Good story lines and good characters. Source: The author. 4*
VENDETTA, #9 - Luckily for me, I had Illusions, the previous book of this series. The story picks up where Illusions ends. Immersing and interesting with plenty of secrets and action. Continues into the next book with the new story line twist. Source: The author. 5*
BLACK BIRD, #10 - It's best to read the two previous books, although there is a "Previously" segment giving a good rehashing of book nine Vendetta. Picks up where Vendetta ends. Interesting. Good characters. Source: The author. 4*
