I was born in Manly on the Northern Beaches in Sydney, Australia and grew up in the west after we moved there to help my brother’s eczema which was made worse by salt air. I now reside in the beautiful sunny state of Queensland.

My dad had the biggest impact on my life. I have always had an overactive imagination and would often tell him stories which floated in my mind. He encouraged me to put pen to paper convinced that one day they would become published books.

Apart from marrying the love of my life, the highlight of my life was being accepted into Nursing just before my 16th birthday. It had been a long-time dream and one which encompassed 37 years of my life. Along with nursing, being married to a Naval Officer for almost 47 years, and posted in numerous places, gave me experiences which I have written into many of my books.

We enjoy traveling the country with our Caravan/RV, and Jack Russell puppy by the name of Gemma who will be joining us.

As my parents were British, never Australian citizens, I hold dual citizenship and we plan to take advantage of this to spend two years traveling the UK and Europe in the near future. It will also give me the opportunity to catch up with many family members who reside in England.

My books are in various genres - Western Historical Romance-both steamy and sweet, Contemporary Romance-steamy and sweet, Male/Male, Australian Outback and City Romance. I also have one menage and one paranormal romance along with two children's books. As I said earlier, I have a rather overactive imagination.

I hope you will pick up one of my books and when you close the cover on one of my stories it will be with a satisfied sigh.

Who needs sleep when there’s PHOENIX FORCE to read??

First up, I have to say that Author Susan Horsnell must have done a huge amount of research to provide the detail of mission preparedness that I have just read about in this book, although I’m sure that her own personal life experience and that of her husband put her in good stead. I also love the military TV series Strike Back, Seal Team, and The Brave, and it was these visuals that I carried in my head while reading about this hella military action world created by Ms Horsnell. Everything from the weapons detail through to the training courses and mission prep was thought out in great detail. Simply put, I was impressed and invested. Sleep be damned, surely I’ll catch up with the zzzzzzzz’s later!

The plot was outstanding and my heart was gutted for the betrayal to Claire that soon became apparent. Betrayal from all sides, even if it was for the best reasons, and to be honest, I would’ve like to have seen a little more fall out from it all. I wanted Claire to go nuclear. My romantic heart both vilified and applauded Ms Horsnell’s brilliance in her creation of this plot, all while I wanted to commit injury upon those involved in Claire’s personal devastation.

The plot moved along that fast, however, that there wasn’t time for Claire to process her new-found knowledge because sooner than she would’ve liked, her team were needed to have their boots on the ground for their first mission after only one training session together. In fact, the whole book disappeared pretty fast because there was plenty going on in a lot of detail without it being an onerous read.

When I got to finally hearing from Lieutenant Commander Tyrone McGregor himself after being well into the book I was one very happy camper indeed. I just LOVE reading both POV in a book, and I needed to know where his head was at when he made the decision that ended everything for him and Claire. As he brought readers up to speed on his own behalf, I was again all up in arms at what Ms Horsnell put our couple through, but I was finally dragged around to a grudging acceptance and admiration of his dedication to his Special Ops Team, the memory of lost team members, and most of all to his country.

The group members of PHOENIX FORCE that Claire Marshall has pulled together is made up of some impressively strong women who all specialise in an area that forms an integral part of their team from a Retired Deputy Sherriff and Sniper through to a former Quantico Computer Expert. Each of them has their own story written by a group of authors brought together by Susan Horsnell for their passion, ability and willingness to create this series of stand-a-lone inter-related books.

PAYBACK PHOENIX STYLE is not heavy on the romance aspect, but love and vengeance most definitely provide the impetus behind the military action that makes up this book. In short, I absolutely LOVED it!! I’m also hella looking forward to each release as they become available, and if this sort of read is up your alley, then I highly recommend that you get on the bandwagon as well. 5-All-Action-Stars ☆🧨🪖☆

The prequel enlightened readers to the background story of this series but more, it set a fire and a desire to want to read every story in this series, especially Claire’s. Well, I can honestly say I wasn’t disappointed and my anticipation was warranted as this story is fantastic!

Claire is a strong, determined young woman who has suffered personal and professional trauma. She hasn’t fallen into bad habits to help overcome them though, instead, she has picked herself up, dusted herself off and decided to do something about her situation—and boy does she ever.

Tyrone is someone I wanted to dislike but somehow couldn’t, he might have gone about things in a rough way but I can now see why. I can also understand why Claire loved him for all of those years too. But alas relationships are hard things.

The action and drama in this first story is filled with intense moments of suspense, and at times, dreadful fear. Phew! I came through to the other side! 😄 It really is an emotional filled roller coaster that completely absorbs you and takes you on such an adventure.

I am not only looking forward to the rest of the team’s stories but am curious about another security company… I’ll let you read this one first though and believe me it is worth it.

This reads like a great tv show series where you think ok she is going to learn who, what, why, how and we the audience/reader will have closer and unto the next mission. But dear Lord, the sucker punch of being betrayed like that ---no spoilers here-- AND the fact that none of the technical terms were downplayed for us "women readers" is greatly appreciated. Finally. we live in a day and age where a woman solider is not an oddity. And now with this series, we have a whole team of women out to 'write' the world's wrongs. There comes a time when you say "Fine, I'll do it myself". The author does an amazing job of making Claire strong and fierce while keeping her human and vulnerable. INTENSE.

I really enjoyed Payback phoenix Style, book 2 of the Phoenix Force Series. Claire was a great character to read about, she cares but is so strong and has so much courage whilst also caring so much about her people. I loved seeing more about the Phoenix women too and can’t wait to see more of them. I loved getting to know Ty and his men from Lock and Load. I adore Nico and hope to see more of him and perhaps some more glimpses into their company and working with the Phoenix women. I can’t wait to dive into book 3!

Our first team member in this series is Claire, Leader and creator of the team.
Her mission is one of revenge and becomes so much more when it becomes a rescue as well.
Could they not only get him out alive but also destroy the evil and his lair?
Will he recover let alone live after his torture
Will they manage to have a life to live after being torn apart in lies and secrecy for the sake of the country.
Awesome series.
