My name is Erela, which means angel. Literally. As a member of the Michael family, I've always been destined to join the Order of the Seraphim, the highest and most prestigious angelic warrior class, on my eighteenth birthday.
But then I make a hell of a mistake the night before my initiation ceremony by pissing off a tricksy Archdemon. As revenge, he plonks me right into the middle of the Order of the Fallen, the worst possible place for an honorable celestial warrior like me. Mostly because I find myself surrounded by four dangerously wicked—and, let's face it, hot—fallen angels who want to tempt me to stray from my path.
Now, I must find a way out of this hellhole so I can get back home and fulfill my fate as a warrior against evil. Unfortunately, the four devious males have no intention of making it easy on me. In more ways than one. And, if I give in to my growing desires, I will never be able to join the Order of the Seraphim. Or even go home at all.
Instead, I will fall.
Ruinous is a full-length reverse harem fantasy novel.

Jenna now lives in England with her husband and her two dogs.
I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: I am not a huge fan of reverse harems and YA. I like them, but they aren’t my favorite. This isn’t labeled as YA, but the protagonist is 18 years old. However, the themes are a little mature, so I’m not sure I’d label this YA. Anyway, whatever you like, this book was actually really good even if the MC was 18. She is a little immature, but I think she really matures by the end of this book. I was fully engaged in the plot after the first little bit where I wasn’t sure, and the author took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions throughout, especially at the end. I was like “NOOOO!” I have not really found a book by this author that I didn’t enjoy, and I really want to read the next book which is a sign to me of how much I did enjoy it. I do highly recommend this book!
Sensational! Angel and demons oh my! A fantastic story introducing this new dystopian world of war in all three realms. I enjoyed the premise and the characters as well. I can’t wait to uncover more about them and to see what happens next with everything that was uncovered in this story.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
What an intriguing take of the whole angel/demon story line. We meet Erela the night before her graduation from is essentially angel school. This is her last chance to have any fun before she takes her new role with lots of rules. As a child of Michael she should be untouchable but when she shakes things up at bar she gets an unpleasant surprise that sends her to Earth where she should not be. While attempting to get back home she makes friends with the group of angels assigned there which makes her question all she knows as well as whether or not she should really go back. Great development with smooth writing that will keep you turning the page until there are no more to turn. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Jenna does it again! I thought this book was a great start to a new series. There really aren't a lot of RH books out there where angels and demons are involved( that I've read a least!). I loved seeing the changes and maturing in Erela, the MFC . She is fairly young at 18 and I was curious to see if I would have a hard time liking her, but she seemed more naive than immature to me and I as I continued to read I found that I did find her likeable. Erela angers a demon who banishes her to the Order of the Fallen. What Erela sees as a massive mistake may have very well been what saves her life. As she tries to figure out how to to get home, she begins to see that not all is what it seems with the fallen. She has a lot of life changing information and revelations happen to her in this first book. Truths are revealed about angel civilizations that shake her core beliefs, and I found her ways of dealing and overcoming these obstacles made her a likable and endearing character. As she tries to navigate this new and slightly terrifying realm, she is not alone, the 4 men of the order of fallen have vowed to help her, but they may not all want her to leave. I found I was completely drawn into the story and captivated to the very end, I loved the dystopian world that jenna has created. I felt like I could truly see the world through the description and imagery that Jenna created! I am really looking forward to the next in the series!
Erela is an angel who is from the Michael family (a big deal), and a night away from taking her place in the war against demons. But during her celebration she pisses off a demon who banishes her to earth where only fallen angels are. She is rescued by the Order of the Fallen, who are essentially the only ones actually fighting demons and they can use a little help. During her quest to get back she learns that her home and her family aren't all gold and goodness and she starts wondering where she actually belongs.
I enjoyed this. It was an interesting take on angels and demons and was fun and sexy.
I’m a bit disappointed and surprised because I really do like this author’s work in other books I’ve read from her. This story is good and intriguing, but there are definitely some parts that just annoyed me. Specifically, if I had to read “I swallowed hard” one more time, I think I would have closed the book and just deleted it. In fact, I almost did it a few times. I counted 20, but that seems low. I will give the rest of the series a try. Hopefully the writing matures a bit as we go on.
Whoo! Another awesome book from Jenna! Angels! We follow the MC to a netural zone bar where she rescues a rat from a demon...and after that well she wakes up on Earth. She has 4 Fallen Angels helping her get back the Celestia, but some road blocks come in her way. Demons, feelings, and Fallen Angels. Great and sad ending but love this book. I read this in one afternoon! So ready for book 2!
Interesting take on the Angel & Demon, Paranormal Romance Genre. The Female MC constantly learning and evolves into quite force to be reckoned with by the end of the second novel. The second was even better than the first. Can't wait for the third to come out. The book was advertised as a YA novel but is a bit more steamy than expected from that category.
This is a great start to a new series. I can't get enough of Wolfhart's books and this one is a unique take on Angels and demons. Amazing characters and storytelling. I can't wait to see how it unfolds.
When I saw the cover I knew I had to read it and I’m not usually a “book by the cover” kinda gal but I’m glad it caught my eye. Fantastic read. I really hope this series continues into more RH. Awesome I can’t wait to read book two.
Great read and start to a new series. Only downfall is that I feel the characters showed emotions to easily, I.e I feel it hard to believe a centuries old angel could say I love you within days of meeting someone.
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how they came together. I can't wait to see what will happen next with them. It was sad that they lost Lilth
THIS SERIES IS ONE OF THE HOTTEST THING I HAVE READ IN A WHILE. SUPER INTENSE, HOT AND SEXY, FAST PACED. YOU CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF IT. ITS A BOOK YOU WANT TO KEEP READING FOREVER!!
Erela is immature, impulsive and idiotic for the first half of Ruinous, and becomes slightly less so in the second half. Besides her, I really enjoyed the story line and the Order of the Fallen.
I loved this new take on heaven, hell, and between! There was a nice twist at the end, and some unfortunate business and seriousness as well. Lots of playful banter and a post apocalyptic New York.
Erela is a member of the Michael family. When she upsets an archdemon she finds herself cast to earth. She meets up with some fallen angels and discovers secrets about herself that have been kept hidden from her. A good story from Jenna with a start of another series.
As I've enjoyed the Otherworld Academy books, and this one is about fallen angels, so of course I had to read it! :D
World building was very good, the author has created an intriguing world (or rather, what's left of our world) and described it clearly and very detailed.
Character development was decent. This for me is why I wouldn't give the book more *. Erela just didn't do it for me, her behavior was off. From the start, it felt like she didn't really care if she got home or not and that staying as a fallen angel was perfectly fine. Yes, she went through the motions, but it just didn't feel believable to me.
Pacing and flow were good, conversations and action were well balanced.
The book itself was well written, I don't think I noticed any errors and yes, there is sex in this book (if that is important to you).
All in all an enjoyable read, the plot is good but the execution felt somewhat lacking. Will still read the next books (fallen angels.. I mean... duh).
Enjoyed this book good story once I started reading the story couldn't put it down read from start to finish in one go looking forward to reading the next book
