Oogami, a salaryman working for a bedding company, has a pretty standard routine. He does his work, keeps to himself, and hides his huge crush on his beautiful supervisor. He's a literal wolf, while his boss and all his coworkers are sheep! This wolf-boy is in for more than a case of simple puppy-love...

Oogami gets transferred to the planning department of the bedding company where he works and finds himself next to his crush, Mitsuji. Also, Mitsuji is his boss and, if that wasn’t complicated enough, she’s a literal sheep person and he’s a wolf. So while he may think Mitsuji is a snack, Oogami has to be careful lest he take it too literally…

Pardon the expression, but this is a pretty cute bit of fluff. It’s your basic story of people trying to do better than their nature, except everybody’s an anthropomorphic animal of some kind. It’s got cute art, cute tail wags, head scritches, all the things you’d expect.

Oogami is desperately trying to impress Mitsuji, but he’s also dealing with his more predatory instincts to bite her (consent, Oogami, consent!) in a less sensual, more nutritional sort of thing. It’s an interesting balancing act, though they don’t lean as hard on this later on, probably because it would make a relationship fairly impossible.

Then, for her part, Mitsuji is a department head, trying hard to push back against her nature as an obedient and docile creature. She’s prey trying to make it in a predator’s world and that aspect of her personality makes her appropriately strong where it counts. It’s fairly clever how the other sheep in her department are always sticking together since, you know, herd mentality and all.

Watching the two of them grow closer while also trying to exceed expectations (the carnivore turnover in the planning department is shocking) is quite sweet, even if Oogami is a little too literally predatory at one point. Even then, it turns out that suave stalking doesn’t give much by way of results if you’re too embarrassed by what you’re suggesting and your boss has her own thoughts on the matter. Especially when you’re convincing her to get a dog and you happen to look an awful lot like one.

It’s fun enough for what it’s trying to do. The elevator encounter at the start is an especially good laugh because it ends up being filled with all sorts of entrapment, both intentional and not so much, plus the brutally obvious innuendo still made me laugh really hard (this book loves a good cornball sexy line).

There’s enough here, even as our leads are trapped in a closet together and the big presentation reveals some undercurrents from the past as you would expect. The big rival reveal is pretty fun and looks for all the world like an interpretation of the ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’ idea.

And the story doesn’t shy away from the awkward questions you should never ask in stories like this - one restaurant serves mutton and Oogami eats it while with his co-workers. The question of cannibalism comes up and is hand-waved away, which is better than just ignoring it.

Cute co-workers, one hapless catboy, another pairing possibly in the making, an awkward misinterpretation that kills the story’s momentum, as often happens. It’s basic, but fun basic. And bonus points for Mitsuji being at least a little thicker than the usual manga heroines.

3 stars - this is just furry romance and it’s honestly perfectly reasonable as that. A good laugh, some hi-jinx, the lurking threat of a rival, a pair that work quite nicely together. A solid, dependable read that gets the job done.

This is a little bit like Beastars lite in the way it uses herbivore/carnivore as sexual metaphors, but much, much cuter. But if they don't correct "a herbivore" to "an herbivore" in the next volume, my Grammar Rage will know no bounds.

So they’re all descendants of beastiality??? Also why do they have two sets of ears? Like, it explains it but it doesn’t make sense. Anyway, great read! Lol

This was a very cute adult romance! (Or beginning of one I should say!)

I really liked Oogami and found him to be such a fun hero to root for! I think from the first "incident" involving ALL the sheep, you really want him to be able to reel in his urges and continue to work in his new department. Not only that, he is just so sweet!

I also really liked Mitsuji! She is a fun and cute character with such a kind personality. She is so so nice and really admired her for not giving up and continuing to work hard despite if she feels nervous in certain situations.

I'm super excited for the romance as it so wholesome and just can't help but lean in and hope the best for these two! <3

Overall, this was a fun read and I'm glad I picked it up! I'll most likely try and get the second one because I want to see what happens next!

This was absolutely delightful! I loved it so much 🥺

I just think Oogami and Mitsuji are the cutest ever 💖 Oogami is always fighting for his life trying to keep his cool, and I love that 😂 Meanwhile Mitsuji is always trying her best to be strong and confident 🥺 Bless their souls!

I had a good feeling about this manga when I bough it on a whim, and so far it is proving my hunch absolutely right. This was exactly what I thought it would be and what I wanted it to be.

It’s cute, it’s funny, and it’s got yearning. 10/10. Couldn’t ask for more from a cute office romance between a sheep and a wolf 💖🥺

I like how they have animal traits and how it plays into their lives. Also, the main relationship was cute. However, it was something that I can't quite name that kept me from truly enjoying it. They introduced a rival for Oogami and I'm not really sure I'm interested enough to continue with the next volume.

If it's available the next time I visit the library, maybe I'll pick it up.

Very cute story, with characters with zoomorphic attributes.

Wolfman and sheepgirl are attracted to each other, but they both think they are being inappropriate to the other.

The story artstyle is incredibly cute and I feel very invested in the story but I have to admit I don't think it lasses the bechdel test. That being said: it is still very enjoyable and has some good twists on otherwise overdone tropes (see the character based on the black leopard!) The humor also made me laugh multiple times. Looking forward to reading the next chapter!

I wanted to read this since it reminded me of Beastars, although much cuter. I really enjoyed seeing Ogami’s dynamic with not only his boss/crush: Mitsuji, but others in the company. The other sheep that work with him in the bedding manufacturing planning department are very interesting to see, especially with their great dislike of wolves despite Ogami’s best efforts. I’m curious to see what happens in the next volume with the awkwardness between Ogami and Mitsuji, along with the appearance of Mitsuji’s old friend (who happens to be male).

It's a sheep eat wolf world out there...

There is no improper species consumption in this series, only cuteness overload. Oogami, the only wolf in a all sheep department of a bedding company, fights his natural predatory instincts everyday to keep his cool in front of Mitsuji, his strong seeming sheep department head. While Oogami has a certain puppy-dog air about him, Mitsuji is the one whom everyone in the department loves. Can a wolf and sheep really make it work in the world of bedding and linens?!

If I have anything to say about it, yes they will. This was a really fun volume, I was not expecting the chapters to be short and episodic, but I believe it worked very well, especially since the chapters carried over the whole story to make a plot instead of individual episodes. All of the characters are interesting folks, the side characters even got a bit of attention to make them more then props, which is nice.

The art is cute and airy, but still down to earth, and I love the character's animal characteristics. It's interesting that their animal ears don't actually work, nor aid in them hearing any better, it's just an evolutionary trait! As a monster girl/person lover, that's just flipping awesome and kinda unique for the trope.

This series is such a hoot, I can't wait to learn more about the other characters, the animal characteristics, and seeing if Oogami gets the girl. Especially with that cliff hanger, oof!

I'm not a huge fan of slice of life comics but this one was super cute and the added drama from the animal ancestry made for a compelling subplot to the casual office romance that this manga is. I like the art style a lot and I'm looking forward to finding more volumes.

Cute! Not an incredibly unique story, but it is sweet if a little rushed at parts. I just hope their misunderstandings will be resolved in a timely manner, though I dont know how much hope there is of that.

If you’re into anthro manga this might be right up your alley, if you’re NOT, probably pass, lmao. Cute dynamic, may or may not pick up the second volume, depends on shelf space, haha.

Oogami is your typical salaryman.

He works in the planning department for a bedding company. He does his job meticulously, always double-checking with his boss and co-workers. He tries to keep to himself.

He’s most definitely trying to hide his massive crush on his beautiful and very capable supervisor.

Mitsuji is kind and helpful, guiding the planning department with her skill and charisma. Everyone loves Mitsuji.

She’s been very welcoming to Oogami, trying to help him adjust to the new department. Their collaboration has caused a bit of a kerfuffle though—on account of Oogami being a wolf and Mitsuji being a sheep!

Herbivores and carnivores notoriously don’t get along—on account of clashing instincts.

But, despite all his attempts to resist, Oogami can’t help but fall for Mitsuji. Is this just puppy love or could it be something more…?

Oh, this is so CUTE!

I so very much adore romances in which opposites attract. That dynamic gets me every time.

As I’ve said before, I’m very appreciative of the “quaint” romance fantasy genre—I love me some slice-of-life drama with a dash of the whimsical. Stories like this one are just so relaxing to kick back and read.

Plus, the central relationship is very enjoyable so far. I appreciate when stories don’t rush right into the romance but, rather, let it build gradually. Oogami is so sweet and I am enjoying the “ride” as he and Mitsuji get to know each other more.

Definitely recommend for fantasy romance readers who enjoy a more slice-of-life pace to their stories~

Hungry like a wolf

I kept eyeing this book when it showed up on Amazon and finally got to a point that I was more or less caught up with my ebook series so decided to try this one at last (yay another series to collect.) Feeling a little like Beaststars or Zootopia but set in an office environment this series shows the struggles of younger wolf descendent Oogami and his oft carefree and boss Mitsuji who is descended from sheep. The struggle is real as Oogami does everything he can to keep his demeaner cool and collected even though his feelings for his boss seem to be noticed by everyone but her thanks to her clueless nature (and possibly due to lack of sleep considering how tired she seems at times.)

All in all the characters are all interesting and although they are all descendants of some animal or another they do their best to work together even if they tend to divide their social standings between carnivore and herbivore groups. This belief makes Oogami's position amongst a department full of sheep girls a test but he has the heart to support the woman he cares for even if his awkwardness prevents him from telling her how he feels. All in all I am glad I got to read this book as we see elements of speciesism but buffered by cute moments and a cast all dealing with their own issues. :)

Help they're so stupid and wholesome <3 This is literally just Zootopia but cuter. Oogami and Mitsuji are literally internally screaming every second over how amazing/cute the other one is. Oogami is a wolf in a office branch completely filled with sheep. His boss Mitsuji is nice but all the other sheep antagonize him intentionally to get him to snap so he gets fired. Incredibly suspect on their part but I can see the problem when your coworker has the potential to accidentally eat you. But if that is the case, why poke the bear? I'm not crazy about the other sheep ladies.

The best part of this is that everyone is an adult. I spent so long reading manga about 15 years suffering to save the world, its a nice change to see adults being shy in the office. I think I'll check out more salary men story lines. The other office members are all interesting in their own way. Anyway I hate misunderstanding tropes so I don't like the ending but I'll forgive these morons. The story is pretty straight forward and simple. Can't wait to see more!

A lovely manga which confronts gender roles in a really interesting way through the animal metaphor. It’s about two people, the first is a female sheep who is trying to assert herself and be a good manager in a company full of predators. The second is a male wolf who is trying to suppress his predatory instincts to “play nice” with the sheep he’s working with (including his boss that he has a crush on). I like that it tackles the topic of how people can choose their behaviour rather than just give into their nature. In this story most of the predatory animals are portrayed as male and most of the prey animals as female. This gives it an extra layer of tackling negative gender stereotypes, especially since many of the predatory animals are portrayed as quite sexist and it’s implied that they sexually harass the prey animals. I like the way that the story calls this out as a choice, not something that is predetermined by their natures.

A cute, fluffy romance set in a world of anthropomorphized animals (though talk of pets and food imply that animal-animals still exist - people keep dogs and cats, and sheep-people can eat mutton at a restaurant - so I guess just don't think about it too much). Oogami, a salaryman and a wolf, has been transferred to a department made almost entirely of sheep (uh-oh) - going to great pains to try not to scare his co-workers - and has a crush on his supervisor, who is also a sheep (hoo boy...). Office interactions are complicated by predator-prey instincts, which also add a different angle to the romantic/sexual tension (his intrusive bitey-thoughts aren't kink!). Despite the subtext, it stays pretty wholesome in this volume, with the occasional conversational allusion to relationships but no actual makeout/sex scenes.
I'm not a squeeing fangirl, but I am interested to see how their relationship develops!
Suitable for older teens and up.

seven seas once again knocking it out of the park with these newly licensed series!! this is a cute office romance with a fun twist - the humans are descended from specific animals, of which they have some leftover physical and mental traits. it's a little like beastars, though much more tame and lighthearted. i'm loving the main characters, and it's a welcome change to see the senior boss person be a woman (mitsuji the sheep) - the power dynamic between the two is swapped, professionally at least (oogami, the junior, is a wolf). there's some very cute moments between the two already, though my favorite so far was their interaction at the bar. the side characters so far are also very endearing, especially minakami (the bar manager, oogami's childhood friend) and shishikura (oogami's old boss - the extra chapter at the end is too funny).

very interested to see where this goes!!

This is another super cute manga that I will watch the anime if it gets an anime released. Oogami is a wolf that has a crush on his boss who is a sheep named Mitsuji. He's such a gentleman and he doesn't want her to be scared or any of her friends (other coworkers). The other sheep want him to mess up and get him fired. He saves one of the girls named Alice when another wolf tries to make a move on her and steps in to stop him from hurting her and they seem to accept him a little bit because he was super nice when they weren't expecting him to be nice at all. They want to protect each other and that's so cute. Oogami's friend, Rutsubo who manages the bar looks like the The Way of the House-Husband guy on the cover.

good luck wolfman!!

So good!!! Very good pacing and setting up this universe of animal human hybrids or whatever they are and creating a interesting premise to a rather cute slow burn romcom. I love all the characters. Everyone is so funny and cute. I’m already pairing up everyone in my head lol!!! The two main leads have such a great easy going dynamic and chemistry, but aren’t there yet. But with the return of this Mika guy I’m thinking Oogami is going to start getting in touch with his more dominant and aggressive side? Everything about this manga is perfect!!! And the fact that they work at a bedding manufacturer is hilarious!!

This is a cute little romance for more open-minded readers. I love the strange problems that crop up with carnivores and herbivores, and how is difficult for them to work together. But also, how we get a cute story full of blossoming affections and misunderstandings. It's like an adult romcom version of a slightly more human Zootopia. No sexual content as of yet, however, that doesn't mean there won't be at some point. There are elements that definitely remind me of the series Wotakoi: Love Is Hard For Otaku, which I am also a huge fan of.

In a world where people display animalistic traits, Oogami is a wolf and a salaryman working in a department filled with sheep. In fact, his beautiful boss is a sheep. He is constantly curbing his baser instincts and does his best to be dependable to her and the rest of their team. But he's also attracted to her, which leads to a whole different level of inner conflict ... and some amusing scenarios.

Workplace (unrequited) romance spiced up by a predator/prey motif. Cultural differences for the win!
