Witchcraft for Everyone strikes the perfect balance right in between over-explaining and expecting you to know everything already. It really is beginner-friendly, which I can honestly say because I am not a witch and had barely touched any media about real witches before I read this. I can also honestly say my interest in the spiritual practice is much higher after having read this wonderful book.
While I did expect it to be very informative and well-sourced due to the author's background in journalism, I didn't fully expect the amount of wit, charm, and joy embedded in each page. I had so much fun learning about "Not Today, Bitch" powder, the magical microwave meal, and the existence of a sexual impotence curse which requires sticking pins into a rotting cucumber. Direct quote: "(Yes that's a real curse. Yes, the cucumber represents what you think it represents)." The powder comes from a full chapter with many other useful mixtures and how to make each one, the microwave instructions come from a chapter that's a literal mini-cookbook with easy-to-follow instructions on how to make everyday dishes literally magic (as well as what sounds like a really good risotto), and the curse quote comes from a whole chapter (or two?) on cursing, some of its history, the controversy surrounding it, and how to responsibly perform a real curse. That's how most of the book is put together: A new concept/section is introduced, succinctly and helpfully explained, and then expanded upon such that a baby witch could incorporate or begin to incorporate that knowledge into their practice. It's also incredibly inclusive. Anyone from pretty much any financial background or religion or ethnicity or sexuality could find a plethora of knowledge to help them start their witchy journey, and as if that wasn't enough, the last few pages are a literal annotated bibliography of media one could look into after reading this book to continue said journey. Truly the perfect first step into the vast and wild world of witchcraft.

This book promises "Witchcraft for Everyone", and it certainly delivers on that promise.
Through concise yet easy-to-understand chapters, this book walks you through building a
solid foundation for your own personalized magical practice, making it perfect for both beginners
and people looking to gain a new perspective on spirituality and witchcraft.

To me, there are two things that really make "Witchcraft for Everyone" stand out among books
on the same subject.

The first thing is that it is largely secular.
I have found that many witchcraft books focus on a specific religous path, and especially
those for beginners tend to focus primarily on Wicca. This is far from the case with this book.
People of all faiths could read this book and gain knownledge on how to make their everyday
life more magical. Witchcraft is presented as a way to deepen your spirituality, no matter what
religion you might follow, and at no point does this book tell you what to believe: It simply
presents you with important questions to consider.

The other thing that makes this book unique is the fact that it doesn't shy away from
controversial topics. It delves into curses and other types of controversial magic, and
the author is not afraid to call out negative tendencies in the witchcraft
community, such as excessive consumerism or racism.

This book covers an incredible amount of topics, and it is the most inclusive witchcraft book
I have read. It is neither needlessly complicated nor overly simplyfied - it manages to find a
perfect balance to help the reader form a magical practice while letting them form their own
opinion as well.

I absolutely loved this book, and if you are interested in exploring witchcraft from a new
perspective, it is definitely worth a read!

I'm a slow reader - I'll be honest, there's so much going on in my life after I received an arc for an honest review.

But - Wow. Just. I'm so amazed.

I've learned so much, felt so deeply, and just ate their words right up. This is perfectly written for anyone who is interested (like beginners or anyone researching) in witchcraft and intermediate (myself) and advanced practitioners. I have so many notes and dog eared pages (forgive me). I cannot recommend this book enough. This book is for everyone, and I'm so thrilled that I got a chance to read it.

I particularly love chapter 8 going into more details with the elements, chapter 11, regarding psychic senses, and chapter 21 - little acts of everyday magic. I'm incorporating so much more into my practice from these passages.

Really, their writing is informative and moving, but also there's a simplistic style that allows the reader to fall into each passage and retain the information - which I'm so appreciative of, as so many resources out there are convoluted.

Really, thank you again for the copy and I highly encourage everyone to read this book and embrace your magic.

If you get a book on witchcraft, make it this one!

Are you new to the craft? Are you an older witch who still has questions? Do you have a pulse? If yes, BUY THIS BOOK! Sam, in her wit and sarcasm wrapped around helpful information, delivers a wonderful message pulled right out of the rat movie: "anyone can cook".
I've been unable to put this one down. I've told all my witchy friends. I made two of them buy it for themselves.
If you buy a book on the craft to start out with, make it this one. You won't regret it.

I asked the author to read this book before it came out, and I am so glad that I had that opportunity! It is absolutely packed full of helpful information and it’s not as biased as some of the other sourcebooks I’ve come across. This book truly meets you where you are without pushing you into one discipline or another, and I will be keeping it on hand for a long time!

This was such an educational yet amazing read! Magic IS for everyone! Easy to digest information that does not read like a “how to” book. I have been practicing for a few years now and this book was still so informational. I would absolutely recommend this book to everyone! I truly hope to see more from this author.
