What happens to my kids when I die? Do I need a will or a trust? How do I get started?
Let’s face it, estate planning is complicated and confusing. And talking about your death is uncomfortable...
It’s no wonder estate planning is one of those things parents put off until it’s too late – even though the consequences are often devastating. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Remember the story of Cinderella, the orphan mistreated by her evil stepmother and stepsisters? Consider an alternative ending. A legally "Happily Ever After," that starts with an estate plan and ends with Cinderella keeping the house!

With this book, your kids won’t need a magical fairy godmother or a prince to save the day. You will understandWhat legal documents you need and why you need them (in terms that you can understand)Actionable steps you can follow to secure your children's futureHow to find the best possible attorney for your needsHow to safeguard your wealthHow to put a flag in the ground for your legacyThis book will help you protect your children’s future and happiness.
Thorough, entertaining, and informational read for a soon to be parent
The author presents a compelling, but not intimidating, case for why estate planning is important for many life situations.
She used accessible examples to explain complex topics. The organization around the Disney theme is a cute way of doing it, and made it easy to know how much more of the book you had and how to skip around to what interested you (or return to a topic of interest).
I feel more prepared now than I did before, and can ask informed questions as I start this process for my family.
My wife and I both read this book and someday our kids will benefit from it. Unlike a final will, a living trust avoids probate court saving high fees and years of delays. As well I realize just how difficult it would be to find all of our assets like online retirement accounts if we aren’t intentional about providing instructions. I didn’t enjoy this book, it’s not a pleasure read, but it’s concise and I’m very glad to have read it. Highly recommend to others so their families are taken care of when they pass.
Definitely a quick and necessary read for all. It gives a high level explanation of all things related to estate planning- and compels you to start making your plan. It is also quite entertaining with real life examples of client situations that are easy to relate to.
